Correction. This place is heavily mis sold! I was sold a twin room for 2 in a hostel. It is not a hostel or a homestay there is no roof top bar/social area or onsite help,it is a midgets room with a solid double bed above a pharmacy...owner should do the right thing and update, asap I left after 30 mins to find adequate accommodation elsewhere, thank you but no thanks

Old, tired, dilapidated building. Stay somewhere else! Owner is a scammer, the 4 and 5 star reviews are all fake.

Despite this actually being a fairly basic hostel, I really like it here. The beds are comfortable, and the bottom bunks have curtains. The beds also tend to come with a shelf, personal lamp and socket. There's a large lockable space provided under the bed. The only issue with the dorm room is there's very little space between the beds. This can make packing up a pain. It's especially annoying if you don't have a bottom bunk as there's no where to sit while you pack. The dorm also had a very small balcony which let plenty of light and fresh air in. The selling point is probably the rooftop, where you can socialise, eat, smoke or work comfortably. The WiFi didn't appear to reach the 3rd floor, or the rooftop. There's a free basic breakfast of toast, scrambled egg and fruit. The receptionist during the day has excellent English, whereas the one during the night has very basic English. There's fairly secure luggage storage while you are away from a hostel - a locked compartment in the building with ample space. However, they don't check that luggage belongs to you when you take it (very normal in Asia).

Bed Bugs everywhere. They gave us our money back at least. Edit: Forgot to mention that we where there in April. Maybe they did something against it. But to be honest back then they told us as well that they had done chemicals against bed bugs and still our room we found 7 of them.

The WiFi didn't work in the room or in the rooftop bar, the bar was pretty underwhelming and the aircon didn't work very well. The English speaking receptionist was very nice but that didn't make up for the wifi, aircon and bar.

Wonderful staff; incredibly helpful for local advice, tour bookings, travel ideas in and around Hanoi as well as onward travel planning (Jenny even mapped out a custom itinerary for me!). The Hostel itself has a lovely cooked breakfast served on the rooftop terrace with fresh fruit, tea & coffee (all free), and you can even get a free beer in the evening. Comfy dorm rooms with air conditioning, wall fan, street-facing balcony, private power points, good WiFi and very clean facilities. Excellent place to stay and all for a good price in the old quarter of Hanoi.

This place was extremely helpful, we weren't even staying here but the young man and lady helped us with findibg places to eat, drink and also helped with our laundry. Offered us a complimentary free ride to our hotel that we were actually staying at. Great service, wish we stayed here!

5 stars because of April, the receptionist sent to us from the hospitality gods. We booked here on a recommendation from a coworker who said they arrived to Vietnam, they came without booking anything and planned their whole trip with the hostel staff's help and BOY were they right!! We did the same and I cannot emphasize enough how our trip to Vietnam would not have been the incredible experience it was without April. I missed the name of the young guy who normally staffed at night but even he was full of advice and conversation and he was the one staffing when the signs said don't expect an English speaker during the late hours! The hostel itself is small (2 floors of bunk beds, 8 people/room, private room, luggage storage, & upstairs kitchen/hang out area), doesn't offer much more physically than just the basic bunks, small free breakfast, and not much socializing (despite the free beer hour and the very comfortable attic terrace) but that just means more time to be able to talk with April. She really was available for us 24/7 even when we weren't in Hanoi and that was SUCH a relief when we encountered confusing/stressful situations to know we had her to wave her magic wand and make everything go well again. I hope when she reads this she remembers us, Beth from the US and David from Spain, and how much of a positive impact she had for our trip and we hope to see her again somewhere in the world :-)
