I really enjoyed my stay here and I have so many good things to say about this place. The furnishing from the bunk beds to bed sheets in the hostel rooms are brand new, very clean and very comfortable. It's easy to have privacy because there are curtains that completely covers the bunk beds. The showers are all very clean and there are many shower rooms available. You have plenty of storage including a big locker in the room and another one next to you in the bunk beds. There's is also another big temporary locker for the convenience of travellers checking in and out on the first floor. There is also a swimming pool that opens for the most part during the day. I ended up extending my stay and convincing my friend to stay as well. The breakfast here is amazing and definitely above the average of most hostels. You will not need to go out for another breakfast because the continental breakfast you pay along with the room is more than enough in both quantity and quality. The staff here is great, special thanks to Tony and Ah Xia for going out of the way and helping me book my trip, extending my stay along with other requests. You can also book trips right from the hostel but I would recommend going to other travel agencies. Even though this is a hostels I would say it definitely raised bars in terms of hospitality and furnishing and the best part is that it's all very affordable. If I ever come back to Hanoi again expect me to stay here only because there's no need for me to check other hostels.

Best hostel in Hanoi with the best & nicest staff in Hanoi! The beds are super comfortable and have curtains. A/C works great in every room. Have stayed in all of the dorms and they are all great, but the best is probably the 6 bed mixed as the room is huge. Hostel location is perfect, everything worthwhile is walking distance. Free beer from 6pm (til 6:30/when the beer runs out). Highly recommend 🤌😁

This hostel was a great place to stay in the beginning of our Vietnam trip. It is literally in the middle of the old town, but the building is in a little alley, just off the busy roads. The staff is amazing, lovely, kind people, calling us by our names when they saw us in the lobby 😊 We did the walking tour with Billy, very informational, rather unusual places, he also shared his favourite food places and gave us insider tips on the city and the country. We loved his energy and smiles ☺️ Recommended!

The hostel is situated in one of the most beautiful and happening locality of Hanoi i.e. Old Quarter. All the major places of attractions are nearby. The hostel has a cozy vibes and the staff is very friendly. The hostel offers free unlimited beer from 6:30 pm to 7 pm which is a unique service and deserves appreciation. Now coming to the room we booked 2 beds in a 4 bed dorm. The room size is somewhat smaller than the photos. Room has its own private bathroom for the 4 people who would be staying apart from common bathroom for the floor which can also be used in case of requirement. The ambiance of the hostel is quite and there is no outside disturbance once you are inside your room. I would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to meet new people from all over the world. Cheers!

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at! Lee and Nancy were so welcoming and gave me a ton of recommendations for my time in Hanoi (and they organized trips to the Ha Giang Loop and Ha Long Bay). The beds were comfortable, great amenities, and an overall great location in Hanoi since it’s in the Old Quarter. This hostel also brings in lots of solo travelers who are down to earth and kind. I met wonderful people while staying here

I personally won't recommend to stay in this hostel. Even, it's free for me. Their staff's attitude was very poor. I don't deserve to be treated like this way with among the money I paid for this hostel. Sad but truth, they are only kind and helpful to those people of a certain race (if you know, you know). Come on, We are on the same boat. I don't care about race and colors, we are all the same in this universe, but you just need to be human and be kind to each other. It costs nothing, but it means everything. The only good side is the location of its hostel. Other than that, don't expect too much. I won't stay in this hostel anymore. Never, Ever! Thanks for your hospitality. Have a nice day fellas.

We stayed in this hostel just for two nights but couldn’t have more positive feedback. The staff is so wonderful and they offer great free walking tours. We did our walking tour with Phuc - such an amazing guide, really nice and very insightful tour. Really loved it and highly recommend it!

First hostel ever and the experience was great. Such friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean and luggage storage came in very handy. Very good location. They also provided tours and classes. Favourite was Cooking Class with Billy and Linh :) they took us to the market so we could explore the town and grab the food we would then prepare for lunch and had a group lunch together. Strongly recommend it to learn more about Hanoi, Vietnamese food and culture and meet new people :)

The best hostel ever!!! Staff is friendly, helpful, funny and smart. Best location, just 2 minutes walking from center, however still very quiet. Female-6 beds room is so nice, clean and has balcony. Happy hours from 6 to 6:30 everyday is a plus too. And I love all of this hostel special Nancy. She organized all best trips as Loop, trekking Sapa or cruise… I had the most incredible time. Thank you!!!

Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. The location is great, right in the centre of Hanoi, the rooms and facilities are spotless, and it has a really nice vibe. It's easy to meet people through the free walking tour and free beer every evening, but it's also not too loud when you're trying to sleep. What really sets this hostel apart though is how friendly and helpful the staff are. They are excellent at arranging transport (and are then extremely responsive through whatsapp for any questions or issues), providing recommendations on places to go, and are extremely welcoming. I stayed there for a few nights before travelling to other places in Vietnam and then showed up on my last day before my flight home, looking for somewhere to leave my luggage for the day (but expecting that I might have to pay). They recognised me instantly and not only let me leave my luggage there but invited me to rest in the common area and offered me a towel for a shower! Exceptional - thank you!

the little charm hostel lost his charm. No more happy hour, no more breakfast included in the price, when I ordered breakfast I was just looked at stupid. The second time I ordered breakfast I got it but it was very expensive. The only good thing I can say is that the beds are still as comfortable as they used to be. For the same money you pay for a bed in a dorm, you can also get a room in a hotel with breakfast. I hope that will change over time and the hostel will regain its charm like it had 3 years ago.

Hostel was really great and clean! Breakfast was also delicious - I highly recommend. Additionally, this hostel's also great for their free walking tours. Just remember to register for it (it's right next to the registration booth). The walking tour lasts ~2-3 hours, and they bring you to pretty experiential and unique places you would otherwise not know of/go alone. Phuc was a great guide - he was really knowledgeable of the places we visited and introduced us to everything! He also brought us to this fantastic egg coffee place. Thank you for your kind hospitality - I had a lot of fun!

Great place to stay in Hanoi. The staff were all fantastic, friendly and personable. They really made me feel welcome during my stay and for that reason I booked another night there at the end of my trip. I was a solo traveller and the free beer hour they offer meant I met new people every night with ease. I always had people to head out for dinner and drinks with on an evening. I booked a number of excursions and planned a week of my trip through the hostel. Lee was particularly helpful making excellent recommendations and rearranging my trip to make the travel times more convenient. It’s a perfect location for exploring the old quarter with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. I’d highly recommend Old Quarter View for anyone wanting to stay in Hanoi. The rooms were modern and clean. The beds were really comfortable and solid.

Luxurious hostel. The stay was very comfortable and the staff were all friendly. Had breakfast included and free beer in the evening. Also had a free 2-3hour walking tour of the city. Also had a swimming pool and held our luggages for free after we checked out. We could use their free area and pool even after checking out. They were so kind and accommodating. Would definitely recommend it anyone. The location is also brilliant. So close to night market and walkable from the station.

Been here for one day, the service is exceptional and today I took part in a 2h free walking tour of Hanoi with Billy. He was very knowledgeable on the city and invited us to try his favourite Vietnamese tea! He also provided us with a list of the best places to eat and drink in the city. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be in a central location with friendly staff and great facilities 🤍

I attended the walking tour with Phuc, he is amazing chap with great knowledge about the place and people of Vietnam. If you are in Hanoi you must attend the free walking tour provided by the hostel. The temple, food market, cloth market and the train station as well as beer at train street was epic fun. Made a lot of new friends along the tour. Highly highly recommended.

The walking tour was a very nice introduction to Hanoi. As it being my first day in town, it was nice to have the important shopping areas pointed out ( food market, clothing, spices, seafood, and other market areas). Also some great points of interest like; train / bridge overlooking the city and local art. The tour ended with a lovely coffee shop. I ordered the green tea latte with coconut icecream and it was DELICIOUS! Our tour guide Phuc was very informative and answered all my curiosity questions. After he also gave me recommendations for many things I was looking for. Overall your was about 3 hours.

Its amazing what this hostel has to offer. Free beer everyday, free walking tour, luxury facilities, breakfast included. The staff has perfect English, and they serve you like in a five stars hotel. Pool as well, great location, towels included... Sometimes its hard to believe that this is what you get for this price. Wouldnt recommend anywhere else..

A social yet not party hostel in the middle of old quarter where you can nevertheless get a good quiet sleep. I came back 3 times, so I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a hostel with perfect location that is still quiet at night, don’t look any further. The beds are super comfy and the hostel is really clean. Also there is a free beer hour every day so it’s easy to socialize. Location could not be better, it is in the middle of Old Quarter but set aback in a little side road so you can catch some proper sleep. Staff is super friendly and helpful and laundry is quick and efficient.

Went on a lovely private motorbike tour with Billy and we got to see many great sights in Hanoi. It was my second time on a motorbike and I felt very safe. Billy was very knowledgeable about all the different areas and historical buildings. It was much better than a walking tour because we got to see more things. Would highly recommend anyone who is new to Hanoi to do a tour here!

Hostel is in great location. Very cleanly, and awesome location. Free walking tour is brilliant. Billy Nguyen does a great job to show you places you would not be able to / would not think of visiting alone such as the Long Bien bridge and the market. He also brought us to the train street and we could go in to drink coffee as you have to be invited in by locals. Otherwise it is not possible to go in. He also had great food recommendations and general information like money exchange.

Clean and fun hostel in the heart of the Old Quarter. We are laidback backpackers and found plenty to do around the area for the four days we were there. The walking tour with Billy was awesome - he is a great guide, a funny and nice guy. Nancy helped us by booking a sleeper bus which was inexpensive, comfy, and included transport from the hostel to the bus. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay!

The hostel is one of the best that I have stayed in. Sparkling clean with a very friendly and courteous staff. One of the best things is the Free Walking tour offered by the hotel. It is a very good way to get familiar with Hanoi. U get to visit all the important places in the old quarter and try out some delicious local dishes. We were accompanied by our tour guides Phuc and Ha who were very knowledgeable and experienced. They also helped us take amazing photographs at the iconic places. Will remember this trip for a long long time!

Hostel is clean, safe, quiet, fun & good location. Hostel also provides free walking tour, free beer hour & hotpot dinner (with a fee). Shout out to Billy our tour guide! The tour was fun, interesting & give an introduction of the local life of Hanoi.

The hostel was great! We arrived early in the morning, but the reception is still open. We can take a shower and store our backpacks while we're waiting to check in. We stayed in a room with 4 beds, the bathroom is very clean! It has a hairdryer, bathmat, shower door (sorry i don't know how to say it). Very recommended!

Great location -- a minute's walk away from Ta Hien but tucked away on a side street so it was quiet at night. The front desk staff were so nice and helpful and made every effort to ensure we knew where things were and had the towels/items we needed. Everything was clean and the friendly energy was lovely. Highly recommend!

Great hostel. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Bunks have a large secure locker under and a smaller secure locker right beside you. Curtains make them private for top and bottom bunks. It’s not a party hostel and is quiet for sleeping as it’s slightly off the busy street. The first floor is a good area to socialize and meet people. They have a free walking tour and Billy was our tour guide and he was fantastic. He showed us a lot of cool spots we wouldn’t have found otherwise! Would recommend. WAY nicer and cleaner than the last one we stayed at around the corner (which was the ecostay 1 hostel)

Great hostel! Rooms are clean and they offer plenty of activities as lunch/dinner, cooking class or free walking tour even free beer from 18.30-19.00. So perfect to socialize with other travelers. Met and made friends with the most amazing people. A lot of stuff/sightseeing just in walking distance. Also big props to the lovely staff Billy, Ocean and especially Nancy! She is pure gold, such a kind soul. Booked Ha Giang Loop and Ha Long Bay with her help, totally recommend. If you need help, she will figure it out for you.

Great hostel, the staff is super friendly and helpful and always asks you what your next plans are and helps you plan your trips. Loved the vibe of this hostel and I met some great people while staying here. Located in a great part of the city and right off beer street, heaps of good bars and restaurants (vegetarian as well) nearby. We took the walking tour with Billy on our first morning and absolutely loved it. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, we were able to visit a great market, train track, and the famous train street of Hanoi which is difficult to enter without a local. Lots of great photo opportunities and spots you can stop along the way.

Awesome hostel! It’s right in the middle of Old Quarter so you can easily walk to everything. It’s slightly set back from the road so not very noisey. Great atmosphere as well and good breakfast (50k). We did a free walking tour with Billy and he was awesome, very informative and took us to a cafe on the train street.

We did a free tour of the old quarter with Billy from our hostel. He was awesome! Super knowledgeable and took us to all the good spots. Would 100% recommend to anyone. Hostel is worth the money. Very clean, good vibes, not loud at all and in a great spot. Plus free beer and games for happy hour and a delicious breakfast for purchase in the morning.

The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Dorms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Great for meeting other travelers as well. I highly recommend this hostel for exceptional service.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Super friendly and helpful staff. Beds were super comfortable. Everything was a reasonable price and they can advise or book trips for you. Each bed has its own big locker. Would definitely recommend this place.

It's a solid Hostel. The Rooms are clean, but i don't know if all the Guests know that you can use the "Bum Gun" to clean the Toilet so toilet brushes would be nice. The Location is very central so it's easy to get a Grab in every direction The best part of the Hostel tho, is the Staff, always happy to Help. Shout out at this Point to my man Lee who not only booked me my Trip to Sappa but helped me plan my whole journey through Vietnam. He booked trains and Hostels for me. He even checked on my a few times so see if i needed any help! It's not a Party Hostel but most of the Guests return rather late. Not ideal if you are a light sleeper. I felt save and would recommend the Hostel

Great rooms. Staff very helpful and friendly. They offer a free walking tour every morning and Billy was really informative and welcoming. Free beer from 6:30-7:00 is a big plus. Short walk to beer street but remains quiet making it easy to sleep.

Great location, two minutes from Bar Street but can hear none of the noise. Clean and comfortable dorms. Not a party hostel, but free beer everyday at 6.30 which get's everyone together and chatting in the common area, easy to make friends. Best of all is the super friendly staff, in particular the manager Nancy, who could not have been more helpful or friendly!!

It’s a very nice Hostel with clean rooms and very helpful staff. In the morning you can go on a free walking tour through the Old quarter in Hanoi. Today I was alone so instead of walking I got a private scooter tour with Billy. Who is an awesome tour guide and showed me everything in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. I would recommend this place. :)

A wonderful hostel, with amazing staff. Nancy and her team really make the place special, they make sure to learn your names and will help you with any queries or tours you may want to book. The laundry service here is probably some of the best we’ve had whilst travelling, very needed after the Ha Giang loop, which we booked through them. Booking the loop was really easy and we ended up in a group of 11 which was so much fun with the Ha Giang Hostel. We were able to leave our big bags in Hanoi whilst we were away, and had a room to come back to. The rooms are a good size, cleaned daily, good WiFi and bathrooms as well as privacy curtains and lots of storage space. Great location, but also quiet so not disturbed by beer street at night.

Totally recommend this hostel. The rooms were really nice. Great location and the food was really good. The costumer service was the best. The whole staff was really friendly and helpful. I injured my foot on a trip and couldn’t walk. Every employee was very kind and always helped me by holding the door open and bringing my luggage in my room. When I had to stay in the hospital they even brought my luggage to me with snacks attached to backpack. Even when I no longer stayed at the hostel Nancy asked about my well-being and how she could help. Forever grateful for the help! Thank you so much!!!

The location is perfect if you want to be in the center of the old quarter and a couple minutes away from beer street. The hostel tries to accommodate early check in if you arrive early, but this depends on how full they are. There's a restaurant and bar in the lobby area with affordable breakfast options and free beer between 6:30pm and 7pm. The rooms, common area and bathrooms are all very clean. There are no trashcans in the rooms or common areas so you have to walk to the toilet to throw anything out. There's an elevator in the lobby that goes to the dorm levels. It's a nice facility but not the most social hostel. The rooms have big lockers and real stairs for the top bunks.

  • 5/5 Anika S. 8 months ago on Google
I had a great time there! I’m traveling by bicycle (push bike) and they were super kind letting me store it at the hostel safely for a month. I will come back one day :) Beds are very comfy with curtains around them and clean environment. Great to meet people and Rezeption is very very friendly and helpful! Thanks

Really great location near to beer street and other main areas in Old Quarter. It's a social but not party hostel. I did find myself going out with other hostels to socialise a bit easier. Free beer which is great and big lockers which fits big backpacks. The beds had curtains and individual sockets and lights. Steps up to the bed rather than a ladder. They have tons of tour information!

  • 5/5 Harry B. 7 months ago on Google
Great hostel right next to loads of bars and restaurants. Has a decent breakfast and free (watery) beer for 30 mins a day which is a nice touch. Really friendly service. Seems to have 24/7 check in which is good but it also means some people arrive in the middle of the night which is annoying. Really recommend the market tour + cooking class with Billy - good experience & tasty food for 120k VND. 🤙

this hostel was great. perfect location, very friendly and professional staff. Lee has mapped out a whole route for me to see the north and has succeeded wonderfully. He's great! rooms were very clean and could be well shielded from the light. large lockers and a small locker where you sleep to place your handbag if necessary. If I visit Hanoi again I will definitely come back to this hostel!

The free walking tour with Billy was great as he was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and super friendly! He took us to the local markets, across the bridge, and we visited train street to get a coffee even though it was guarded and closed off, Billy knew a local woman who brought out coffee for us. He also let us borrow hats as it was raining. Highly recommend taking up the free morning tour with him if you’re staying at this hostel. The hostel itself is clean and the beds are comfortable. Located right in the old quarter and close to great food, beer street and shops. There’s a night a market on nearby as well Fri-Sun.

It was a great experience at the Old Quarter View Hanoi Hostel. The rooms are clean, the curtains provide the necessary privacy and the location is very central. You can reach various highlights of Hanoi in a short time. There is also a free daily walking tour. Billy, our guide, showed us around the city very well and gave us interesting information. Definitely recommended if you want to meet cool people!

I don’t usually stay in hostels, but decided to try it in Hanoi. I’m very happy I chose this hostel as everything was excellent. Rooms are good, beds are comfy and clean, staff is helpful and nice. Great “not-so-party” hostel, where you can meet great people. Honestly, I found it better to stay in this hostel than a private room in hotel in the city, as rooms are soundproof and you can’t hear any outside noise.

Best hostel in Hanoi!! The location is great, surrounded by restaurants, nightlife, and lots of shopping 😊. We stayed here 5 nights over the time spent in Vietnam. The staff are amazing, always friendly and very helpful with lots of travel tips. Free breakfast in the morning is very good too, would definitely recommend staying here 😊

We had a phenomenal time seeing the city and getting local views today. Several markets were visited, and interesting history and local knowledge were given at each stop. Phuc was a great tour guide, having lived in Hanoi his whole life he knows the city as well as anyone. We would recommend this tour - and you can’t beat the price!

  • 5/5 erik k. 4 years ago on Google
The walking tour is worth it and included in the hostel fees. The host Phuc was informative and took us to many markets and different places that aren't crowded tourist spots. It lasted 3 hours but it flew by fast and was also a good way to meet people at our hostel.

  • 5/5 Joy Q. 4 years ago on Google
Amazing hostel and staff who go above and beyond to help you on your stay. I extended my stay by a few days and they were able to secure the same price which I appreciated. Beds with privacy curtains, very clean rooms and bathrooms, great free breakfast, good walking tour, hot showers with good pressure. Mattresses were foam so you do sink in a bit and I prefer a firm mattress but still found it relatively comfortable.

I think it was a fantastic stay for me. I travelled a little while in Vietnam and returned 3 times to this hostel and will continue to return here. First of all, it is clean. I stayed in 6 bed room female dormitory and everyday the staff have maintained hygiene around our room and inside the bathroom. I felt very comfortable and had enough privacy. My bed was quite comfortable too. I have read a few reviews here about staff and I just think they're an incredible bunch of people. I did not expect to even build any kind of friendship with them. In the end, I felt really secure and respected being there. The staff were extremely helpful to me and made this trip (I'm a solo traveller) really fun and I can't wait to come back there again.

  • 5/5 Yan K. 4 years ago on Google
I stayed there 4d3n and really recommended it. The vibe was really good. Backpackers there seemed nice and open-minded. Everyday there were so many travellers coming and going, whoever stayed were ready and open to start a conversation. The staff were friendly and helpful. The night I checked in it was very late and I was starving, the staff actually helped me with grabfood, contacted and went out in the rain and got the delivered meal for me. It was service beyond my expectation. In the breakfast menu, plain omelette with French bread was simple but good. I enjoyed very much the atmosphere and the room as well. Restrooms were always bright, clean and supplied. The thank you note they emailed after I checked out was just cherry on top. They really know how to do business and make people come back! I would definitely recommend travellers book this charming hostel. Thank you and nice job guys.

Very clean and cozy hostel with awesome staff, great breakfast and a pool. Only minor thing are the beds which are a little soft and keep your shape like memory foam. Special Thanks to Jay and also the other staff! Jay welcomed us on the first day and gave us great advice every day which made our trip the best it could have been even though it wasn't always in his favour! Always ready to book transportation and trips for us even when we were not staying at little charm or after his shift was over. I definitely recommend this hostel to anyone!

Me and my colleagues have a business trip in Hanoi. We booked a dorm room, everyone of my team were very satisfy, the room was clean and neat. The location of the hotel very close to many famous places in Hanoi, you even go to these places by walk. People of the hotel very helpful and friendly. We all love our experience in this hotel. Thank you for your hospitality.

Went on an interesting journey through the old quarters, wet and dry markets, railway bridge as well as a local coffee house which we can view part of the railway. Phuc was our guide and shared local insights and recommendations like where to get cheap beer and good local food! Highly recommended.

We stayed here in March 2023 and our experience was very good. Beds and lockers are spacious. You can carry your luggage easily by using their elevator. They also serve free beer in the evening 😉 For awesome trips in South East Asia and India, you can follow @darkgreenadventures on Instagram and Facebook

Clean and very well managed. Staff here is friendly and very helpful. Located at walking distance from many attractions and famous restaurants. Don't miss free beer every evening from 7 to 8 Pm. Also best time to meet fellow travelers as everyone is chilling with their free beer!!

Decent enough place. Room/ bathroom was clean. Good breakfast, really good location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good social vibe. I'd say stay here.

Amazing location, in house breakfast and good staff. Compared to other hostels in Vietnam, the bathroom had separated showers and toilets - big plus! They let us check in very late, and had great email communication. Highly recommended!

Excellent facilities, nice and comfortable. The beds were better than the one I have at home! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and speak great English. Every day you get a free breakfast and free beer from 18:00-18:30 as well as an excellent walking tour at 14:00. Our guide Phuc was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended!

AMAZING! Took us to a bridge and some markets I never would’ve been to on my own, and was extra special having a local to explain everything to us. Phúc was so fun and patient with the group. And holy egg coffee - SO delicious. I feel like I gained a way better understanding of the quarter and the country and would definitely recommend this tour!

Great hostel. Beds were clean and comfortable. Overall clean hostel. Nice swimming pool. Staff very nice and friendly. Free breakfast with good choices. Downfall may be the price as it was over $12 a night. Would stay here again!

We had an incredible walking tour (completely free too!) With Mr. HA. I will wholeheartedly recommend Ha for this, make sure to ask for him. They took on some stunning locations, got to see some spots of Hanoi only a local could find. Loved every second. Thanks again Ha, for a great trip! Ifraz

Amazing hostel. Super private bunks, clean bathrooms. Stayed in the all female 6bed dorm. Felt super safe and clean.

We stayed two nights in the Hostel and did the free walking tour. The guide, Phuc, was amazing and showed us the Hanoi lifestyle including the train passing through the small streets of the city. The hostel was super clean and the rooms where fresh. You have free beer for half an hour at the end of the day which is a great opportunity to meet other travelers. Would definitely come back!

So this hostel is right in the middle of beer street but was actually really quite! The space was also super clean. I don’t typically write reviews, but the staff really surprised me with how supportive they were that I absolutely had to write one up! I left my camera behind, and Nancy helped arrange a car to bring my camera to me (and even gave me a discount for the car service). They were constantly so supportive, giving me recommendations on things to do and asking me about my day whenever I walked by. It was a lovely experience, would definitely recommend. I also met a lot of friends here, so it was really the best of all worlds!

A bit disappointed by the fact that we booked a private room for 4 people 1 week in advance but when we arrived they separate us in 2 different rooms for the same price. Also at check in time they kept telling us to only wait 20 minutes to enter the room as it was not ready. We waited more than an hour and at the end we left our bags at reception and went for lunch since the rooms were not ready yet. Room was clean with comfortable bed.

We had a bed in the female dorm and a bed in the mixed dorm for 4 nights. Pro: Everything is brand new and in great shape. Perfect location in the centre. Elevator exists. Tour booking is easy and they offer competitive pricing. Also they have curtains around the beds and lockers for everyone. It is quite at night. Con: Breakfast was not included and very expensive for a hostel (there are great banh mi places for a third of the price close by). The shower of the girl dorm was unfortunately overflowing the whole time and didn’t get fixed. Also the soap, shampoo lotion didn’t get filled up for the entire stay. These problems did not appear in the mixed dorm shower facilities. Free beer does not exist anymore and nobody told us of a free walking tour. We honestly expected more because of the good reviews.

Fine hostel in a great location, just perfect. Initially slightly hard to find, it is a at the end of a small alley. But that's what makes it so quiet. Really great to stay there. It is neat and clean and staff are very accommodating and helpful. A great experience, very worthwhile to stay here. Hope to stay there again!

I love the atmosphere, the service, the cleanliness and hygiene of room and toilet, and the comfort bed. If you are looking for a good hostel around old quarter, I would recommend this one.

  • 5/5 Digital N. 1 year ago on Google
GOOD: Recently remodeled, with a lift, excellent beds and baths, very sturdy bunks, and a big indoor common area that is open 24h. Located on a small quiet alley with little noise at night. The staff is excellent, and a lot of guests booked trips with them after they very patiently explained the details. BAD: The 4-bed dorms are quite small, with very little floor space, and the shelfs in the lockers prevent putting a big backpack inside (the 6-bed dorms seemed to be the most spacious). Unclear breakfast pricing - my confirmation from Booking said d50,000 but the staff said d80,000 (not a big deal but it feels like you are being overcharged).

Me and my friend had a great stay in this centrally-located hostel, and especially enjoyed exploring around the Old Quarter through the free walking tour led by Phuc! He gave us detailed explanation of the street food and seafood markets and led us to the train street where we had delicious drinks. Would recommend the hostel for the great service they gave us.

Amazing place, deserves 6 stars if I could give it. The staff is eager to help, the place is immaculate, spotless in the bathrooms too, and feels like a hotel. Good atmosphere for hanging out, having beers, meeting new people, and chilling in their pool. Yes, they even have a pool, with a waterfall feature! For cheap, they'll wash your clothes, I think 35,000 dong/kg, and they come out smelling better than ever. There's free breakfast, and a good restaurant that's fairly priced. They even helped me when I needed to have an emergency credit card delivered, and let me pick it up from there. I will always come back to Little Charm if I'm ever back in Hanoi, as I've never seen any place come close to the quality of this establishment. Do yourself a favour and stay a night or two here, it's only a couple dollars more expensive than the other options, but the benefits heavily outweigh the cost.

Phuc is an excellent guide who will take you on the best walking tour in all of Hanoi! Both guides were very engaging with the whole group and everyone had an amazing guide. The tour starts at the Old Quarter lobby and visits the local food market where you can taste and sample local foods and ends at a nice relaxing coconut coffee shop outside. Very fun time and recommended for all!!

Today we went on an amazing walking tour provided by the hostel for free. Our tour guide Phuc was very knowledgeable and had great commentary on everything we saw. He took us to the food market, the old bridge, and to a great coffee shop with a nice open air balcony seating area. 10/10 would recommend hopping on one of these tours! Can’t say it enough our guide Phuc was amazing!

Very clean and nice dorm rooms. Friendly staff. Don’t let the swimming pool fool you, it’s very small although it’s still a nice touch. Breakfast was very good. But the food options are pricy, and you’re definitely better off eating authentic Vietnamese food outside (unless you want western food). They have nice programs for people to socialize, great for solo travelers. Their tours are overpriced, even their bus ticket price was overpriced. You can get cheaper tickets outside, unless you pay extra for the convenient. Overall would totally recommend staying there!

This is a great hostel with comfortable beds, ac and secure lockers with key card access required. I was travelling solo and in a dorm with 6 beds. The bathrooms are clean and there is a good shower. Breakfast is included with a small buffet as well as a la carte options. I did two loads of laundry which had a quick turnaround time and was super easy to arrange! Def worth checking out!

Relatively expensive for Hanoi standards, but still very cheap compared to Europe. The mattresses seemed to be nice once but were pretty badly used. You get two large lockers with locks built in. Room was small but accommodated only 6 persons and the beds have curtains, so it's fine. The pool is not very nice and seems like it was built solely for the sake of having a pool. Shower, bathroom and a/c were really good and the free beers are pretty nice. Breakfast ends too early though and the employees were relatively pushy when we arrived to sell us some tours but fortunately backed off later... All in all good for the money but nothing special. Doesn't have the greatest hostel-atmosphere either.

Great hostel, had more like a hotel feeling. Staff is great and always there to help you. Good breakfast. Nice location in the Old Quarter. The dorms looks new and the bed is super comfy and soft for SE Asia. I would definitely recommend this hostel. It also has 30 min free beer and free walking your every day, which makes it a social hostel with chill atmosphere. This is a hostel where you can both relax and have a social atmosphere. If you are only looking for a party hostel, you should pick another hostel.

I legit went on this walking tour twice because it's the best way to make friends at this hostel. Phuc is a great tour guide (although I'm biased because we are BEST FRIENDS). Ask him anything and he'll help out - very friendly guy ;) I asked him tons of questions about where to go for good vibes and good food and he's got a great sense of humor. Definitely do the walking tour and then join other hostel stayers for free beer when you get back.

The hostel employees are very helpful, kind and friendly, they are always ready to help their guests. The free walking tour was very interesting and I leant many things about Vietnam. The tour guide Phuc was very knowledgeable and helpful to the participants. He gave us good advice about places to visit which were amazing.

I really reccomend staying at this hostel and doing the free walking tour. I had read other traveller's reviews and was enticed by the free walking tour. It was a fantastic experience with Phuc. He showed us around town to places I would not have otherwise found. We explored old Quarter and went to the markets, long bien bridge timed to see the train passing by at 3.30 pm and see some cultural aspects of Vietnam. Phuc is a fantastic guide, be sure to ask him lots of questions.

Le van Phuc is a wonderful tour guide. He took absolute care of us while taking us around all the places. We visited the food market, local market, Long Bien bridge, seafood market during the tour and the experience was impressive. We even tried Che - a sweet assortment of coconuts litchis, jelly, and the very famous egg coffee during our walk. If you're in Hanoi, I would recommend this walking tour and the best part about it is it's free for everyone! Thanks.

I can’t recommend this hostel enough! This was my first time solo travelling and they couldn’t have made it any better. The walking tour with Billie was the perfect way to meet people and the free beer every night!! The rooms are big and the beds have everything you need including a nice locked box that was nice and big! The bathrooms were clean and overall it was just a lovely hostel to stay! It was quiet at night and definitely not the party hostel of Hanoi but still had a good atmosphere in the evenings before everybody went their own ways! They’re also great to airport transfer if you don’t fancy chancing the taxis or bus! Thank you to the whole team for making my first time here so fantastic!!
