Clean, simple, and cheap rooms with very friendly and helpful staff! We stayed a total of 3 nights and the last two nights they upgraded us from room 100 (a small windowless room) to their deluxe suite with a balcony and queen beds free of charge Note that it's quite noisy due to the very convient location (from about 6am to 1am there is a constant stream of honking) so you'll definitely want to bring ear plugs, but I'd imagine all hostels in the old quarter have a similar issue

The reception staff are incredibly welcoming and will go above and beyond for their guests. We were given a map of the city, recommendations for places to see and a list of top Vietnamese food items, which was so useful, we passed it on to our friends. The beds are fairly comfortable and the AC / fan comb, in the rooms without windows, produces a good airflow. The rooms aren't massive, but reasonably sized, for the middle of a city. All linen was clean and for the price it is exceptional value. Location is fantastic. Just far enough away from pub street to not hear the noise, but close enough to walk short distance to all tourist spots in the Old Quarter. For a base to see Hanoi, this hostel/hotel is great, and clearly it has worked hard to improve quality for their customers over the past year or so. We came back twice and found it was super easy to arrange early morning airport transfers, as well as, a late check in. Thank you to the team for being so friendly and helpful! Highly recommended for the price you pay.

Probably the best hostel in Hanoi not because of the rooms but the staff they have. The location is perfect almost near to every place. The rooms are good but the washroom is bad as the space is very less. The staff is excellent Tom and duey are totally the best people I met in vietnam. Tom will sort everything for you be it travel , taxi or any other thing. If in Hanoi definitely meet Tom . Hostel needs renovation specially the washroom as there is very less space. Overall I had a great stay in Hanoi golden hostel due to Tom and duey. Hoping to meet you guys soon.🤟🤙💕

A good place to stay. Near everything you need and desire. Heart of old quarter. Weekend night market is just a stones throw from the door. Great airconditioner and fan. Comfortable clean bed and room cleaning daily. Stay here♡

Had a phenomenal stay at Hanoi Golden Hostel. Mr Tom was an amazing help through out my time here. Offered amazing recommendations and couldn't have been nicer. Will definitely be staying again! There was also another young man, 26 years old. I forgot his name, but he was also great!

We stayed there for one night, and it was an good stay for the price we were paying. It’s a busy area, so it’s bit loud. Customer service was amazing, Tom and Tian were a very kind persons

I stayed there for 2 nights. I was there with my friend and they gave me their biggest room. They gave me a room in which there was 2 king-size bed. Also, the owner TOM is very helpful and now he is my friend too. He helped me to explore Hanoi City. Also, he helped to get a taxi from Hostel to Airport at a very reasonable price. The hostel is connected to the Old City. My stay was fabulous. Next time I'll visit Hanoi I'll definitely stay in Golden Hostel🇻🇳

This hostel was a very nice experience! Tom, the owner and main receptionist, is absolutely wonderful! Before my arrival he arranged a driver to pick me up from the airport for a reasonable price and bring me directly to the hostel. Upon arrival, Tom gave many suggestions for good places to eat and see in the old quarter and was happy to answer any of my questions. He upgraded my room to have a view without me even asking. Overall the room was pretty good, two queen size beds with a balcony view of the street. My only annoyance is the layout of the bathroom- there is no divider between the toilet and the shower head so the floor does get quite wet, and the laundry service had not returned the towels while I was there, luckily I had my own! Overall would definitely recommend for a night or two in the old quarter- the location is super good and you can walk to almost anywhere in the old quarter center.

Excellent staff, most helpful. Good simple breakfast. Rooms are small but clean and well equipped. The climb to the top floor is strenuous for this old man ;) - recommended for anyone wanting to be in the middle of lots of activity without breaking the bank . . .

It‘s worth 5 stars because you get a clean, nice room for the price. The staff speaks really good English and they are really helpful. The location is just perfect!

We loved our stay here. The property is in a great location, we stayed in the “superior room” (on the top floor) and it has a little balcony to look out from to the street. Tom, Zui (this may not be spelt right!) and all the other staff are super kind and helpful with offering advice on places to visit. They are excellent hosts. It has air conditioning, powerful fans and wifi, the beds are comfy and the small showers in rooms are perfect. This is not 5star luxury, but it’s fantastic for a hostel and very well priced. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Hanoi old quarter. You should be aware it’s loud at night in the street. But this is to be expected in Hanoi old quarter and no fault of the hostel or it’s staff. This was fine for us, but if you’re a light sleeper Hanoi old quarter (not just this hostel) may not be for you. Otherwise 100% stay here, you won’t regret it and Tom and the guys will take great care of you.

It's on the intersection of two of main streets so it's not particularly quiet even on the top floor. Unless you get a room without Windows you will hear every single motorbike honk and the loud music blaring out of the local pubs from the first hours of the morning to almost midnight. Don't hope to experience much quiet during the day, the sound of the local traffic is a constant. The staff is nice, the bed was comfortable, but if you can't rest properly what's the point? Please note that unlike most of the reviews for this hotel which are provided primarily by people from Thailand or Indonesia or other motorcycle riddled countries, I'm European so I have a different standard regarding what qualifies as quiet.

nice little place, cheap and has everything you need as solo traveller! Tom was super nice, had a lot of recommendations (it’s also a travel agency that can organize trips within northern Vietnam).

I booked at Golden Time Hostel 3. Upon arrival they moved me here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large, air conditioning was great, bed firm and comfortable. The breakfast were $1.50 per meal. Plenty of coffee and tea. I would recommend, be careful they juggle guest between their different properties. Not all properties are the same quality. Golden Time Hostel 3 is no where this quality!

The place is located at the most convenient street close to everything. Opposite there is a Western Union. The room is spacey and really clean. The staff is great and helpful and it's really important that they can all speak English. It made my stay in Hanoi easy and I'm grateful. ☺

Tom the receptionist is a real "super star " a very friendly and helpful guy. I recommend this hostel the problem is that it so popular its some time sold out. So best to book for a 2 night stay because its usually full the next day.

The location was great, in the middle of the old town. The host was very friendly, he showed us the must sees of Hanoi and gave us a map, he helped us get a bus to our next travel location and he offered us water for on the way. The personnel was very friendly. The room has airconditioning, its not the biggest but it's fine. It had a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend, especially for backpackers.

Giving 1 star only cos I couldn't give 0 star. We originally booked a stay at Hanoi golden hotel. Dropped off our luggage in the morning after getting off sleeper bus. Returned for check-in later at 2 PM only to be told that the aircon in the room was not working and they shifted us to a sister "hostel". Was upset as we had paid for a different room in a hotel and not a private room in a hostel. There were 3 other couples at the receptionist at Hanoi Golden Hotel and all of them had similar issues. Later on, after insisting on our booking fee waiver, we checked that the price of the room had changed from 288k to 432k. Deceitful practice.
