A very nice bar with creative drinks and chic atmosphere. You can also ask bartender there for an off-menu drink that made to your liking. Friendly staffs. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to explore a speak easy in Hanoi.

After a long flight, a few drinks at Kumquat helped me to overcome my jetlag in the evening. A speakeasy bar where you’re greeted at the front door before a table is arranged for you upstairs. Like all Vietnamese music, it is blaring so prepare yourself for that. Friendly and attentive service and really enjoyed the shisha on offer

Came here as we were recommended by a friend that visited Hanoi recently and said that the drinks were good plus they had amazing service from the bartenders and waiters / waitresses. However, when we got the bill amounting to 2 million VN Dong and were in the midst of collecting cash from the rest of my friends to pay for the bill, the waiter in specs stepped forward to remind us that the bill was in fact 2 million NOT 20k with a disdain look on his face and suddenly we felt like we were not worthy of being in this place since he was so quick to pass judgment when we have NOT even offered the $ to pay. Did we ask for clarification? No. We were merely collecting $ amongst ourselves. Drinks were ok but meh, skip.

I went here with my wife during our honeymoon and was pleasantly surprised with great service, great atmosphere, and even better drinks. We would highly recommend visiting!

A stylish speakeasy / shisha bar. The cocktails are really good.

When coming in, look for the red door, it's a bit hidden in the dark. Once inside, it a nice beautiful bar with some very nice and friendly staff. Great music and ambience. Good signature drinks and cocktails. I had a couple drinks and it was well made. Definitely recommend this place. One of the better cocktail bars in Hanoi

Dissapointed as we travelled across the city for this speakeasy with a good reputation for cocktails. The drinks were actually good, but the vibe and music (US hip hop) wasnt exactly what i thought i was going to get. Not many people in there and i had a strobe light flashing in my eyes just to create some sort of vibe 🤷🏽‍♂️ Friendly staff though.

Nice speak-easy bar with chilling atmosphere in the center district of Hanoi, walking distance within Sword Lake, Theatre of Opera, French Quarter, etc. Very good music and delicious cocktail.

We stumbled upon this when the door was open! Like a true speak-easy it was harder to find. We went when no one else was there but the atmosphere is great and so were our cocktails. We could only stay for one drink, but would’ve stayed longer if we had the time!

Hanoi has a growing bar culture and Kumquat represents exactly that. Very well thought out interior design - good lighting, pretty shelving, glass ceiling. Their cocktails were more than decent for the price. You can also shisha and smoke indoors for you all degenerates. The entrance is hard to find. I’m not going to give any clues so you can feel a sense of achievement when you spot it hehe

Great vibe! Drinks are good. Just wasn’t a fan of the music (top 40s) the DJ was playing at that time.

Do not bother, it’s not a speakeasy. The cocktails look nice but there is loud music, hookah and really bad air conditioning so it’s hot.The second floor is not open.

Great decor and design. We went on a Sunday night, so it’s quieter and no DJ’s playing. A great place nonetheless. Drinks are definitely more expensive than other places in Hanoi in general.

The overall experience was fine, food was not great, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The music was just fine too, but even when we were on the dance floor, the DJ kept on playing songs that were just flat.

Great hookahs and terrible service. The hostesses are the worst bar I've ever been to. The haughty tall black haired girl at the entrance is the worst thing you can come across in this bar. I made a booking on facebook, she lost my booking, made a fuss and blocked me on facebook so i can't book again. At the same time, I found my reservation on her phone, and proved that it existed. And all this in front of an empty bar. They need to be fired to keep the business alive. And still you have to suffer from communication with her in order to smoke good hookahs.

I thought the design of this speakeasy was very cool- think 1920's Shanghai. The cocktails were good, though pricey. So why the 3 stars? I didn't like the vibe; the music was explicit hiphop played too loudly to have a conversation, even though there were only a handful of people in there at about 9:30pm on a Saturday.
