Great bar if you're not into the club vibe - really great jazzy chilled music and great drinks. Fantastic views too.

Amazing rooftop, chill vibe, you can play fussball here and have great IPA the bar crafted themself. Highly recommend. Also beer is cheap as well compared to the street it's in.

this is a pretty cool spot. good range of quality spirits and craft beers, and the staff were lovely. we each had a couple drinks; the prices were fair and everyone was happy. the vibe on the night was a little too backpacker for my tastes but that isn’t their fault. music selection was great, would just be nice to have it a little louder. the space itself is alright although the upstairs is a little basic. a pleasant escape from a trashy area, and even better if you enjoy watching the madness going on below.

Nice sky bar with good draught beer and cheap bottled beer as well. There were free arcade game, and the music was great. We were there early in the evening so it was not to many people but I can still recommend this place. Two thumbs up👍👍

Very good place to drink, not many people unlike the hectic street below. When the rain started she covered us with a big umbrella bless her and we stayed dry very good service

We have been downstairs not in the Rooftopbar. We ordered to beers, they came with 5 beers instead. We told them we don’t want them. The services lady even translated us that “we only charge you two beer”! We told them we will not gonna pay for that. The services people got so rude an even grabbed or arms and screaming we have to pay. Seems like they do it only to the tourist to get their money…. Really bad experience for us.

A soulful and jazzy place. The vibes and the music were amazing. Overall happy with the place except that I waited more than half an hour for my second cocktail even after I reminded the bartender. Not the best customer service.

A nice spot located on the 5th floor of a building, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy street below. Great prices - we paid around USD12 for 3 drinks in total. Would have loved the drinks to be a little stronger but at this price, you really can’t complain.

Had an awesome time here in Hanoi a couple of years ago. I think we ended up going back three times on a trip of a few days. The beer was great and the space is fantastic. Make sure you walk past the business on the ground floor and take the elevator up! The ground floor business is not managed by them and has apparently been trying to steal customers away by telling them it's closed!

Beautiful roof top bar in all the chaos of the street. Has beautiful views, drinks and people. Just FYI remember to just go straight up to the rooftop. Downstairs has no association with the venue, if you're told it's closed by downstairs. Be sure to go up and check yourself :).

this was a hidden gem! hidden from the chaotic hustle and bustle of the beer street but with a nice view overlooking it - quaint and peaceful vibes, cocktail are reasonable priced. Had the spanish gin & tonic, drinks are strong. Has a cute arcade and pool area as well. Would recommend!

Nice little rooftop bar, great price for beer, nice Northern Soul music, looking down the bars street. 100VND for the Super bad IPA, will be better if they have more to choose. One downside is the staff situation, sometime you might need to wait for long time to get serve.

Had a good IPA with a great view! Walk through the lower restaurant and ignore the dudes trying to get you to sit there. Take the elevator to the 5th floor and enjoy!

This is a wonderful bar, with great music, great drinks, great hosts and a great view. The vultures in the local bar at the entrance will tell you it's closed and then try to sell you beers, but ignore them; they are NOT closed. Look up and see if the lights around the roof are on. If they are on, the bar is open. Just go on through and take the elevator at the back to the 5th floor.

Amazing place to go to escape the craziness of bia steeet. It is hidden away through another bar which you have to walk through to get to the elevator. Definitely check them out. The owners are lovely and make incredible drinks. And the view of bia street let's you see all of the madness whilst relaxing.

Went on a quiet weekday night with no crowd. Staff was attentive and drinks were well made. View was good to see the bustling street.

This is an excellent new roof top bar bang in the centre of Hanoi (at the time of writing it has been open 6 days). Delightful staff and well priced drinks combined with a two floor roof terrace and fantastic soul music. To access just follow the signs down through another restaurant and go to the 5th floor using the lift.

One of my favourite bars in old quarter. Good drink selection, not cheap but not extremely spendy. Music and venue are both great.

Absolutely love this place. The bartender was very attentive and drinks were good! Me and my friends enjoyed arcade game A LOT. Still can’t believe the game was free.

Very good cook tail and service. The bar is on top of the building, so you have a nice view of the street. The hygiene is good with clean floor, toilet. Also the price is good too. Overall, we have a good time here. Thank you Northern!

Arcade and foosball, also two great craft beers with the same name as the bar. Don’t think you get them elsewhere, so worth a try.

Not a bad little spot looking over the old quarter in Ha Noi. But a little hidden if you wanna chill out and get away from the hustle and bustle of the old quarter as well.

Looks better than it is The view and location is truly good. That’s why we chose to come here. But the drinks where of poor quality. Neither wine nor cocktails where tasty and the cocktail even had a hair in it. I suggest sticking to beer as there are not many things one could do wrong. As snacks we ordered almonds. It was a huge portion but there where few rotten ones inside why we decided to rather not eat them. If the menu improves, this place has potential.

Fantastic rooftop bar if you want to escape the chaos of the street. Well priced drinks and modern decor, bar staff are super friendly and the owner, Hai, is a deadset champ. The music also deserves a good shout out. As an honest bloke that loves a beer I'd tell you all that you'd enjoy a beer here better than anywhere else. Five stars.

Of the many bars I tried during my month-long stay in Hanoi, Northern Soul is my favourite bar in the Old Quarter. If you want a fantastic craft beer place, this is it. As a beer connoisseur, I can say that their house-brewed pilsner and Superbad IPA were top-notch and there were plenty of cocktail options for non-beer drinkers. When I was there, they had a special limited-time IPA called Hanoi Haze. Hoppy goodness. Hope they keep it on the menu permanently! Draught beers are hard to find in Hanoi and theirs are ice cold and served from fresh kegs. Plus the vibe, decor, and music are really unique for Hanoi and so much fun. Take a look around at all the music memorabilia and play classic arcade games and foosball while you lounge with friends. The best rooftop views to enjoy with your drinks. Search out Northern Soul. You won’t be disappointed! Can’t recommend this place enough.
