Directly across from ngoc son temple and the lake so very nice location. Not much information provided surrounding the statue at the location but a cool thing to see with a nice park behind. Clean environment, nice to see a respected statue.

On the weekend, due to the street market(only walking area/blocking cars) we can get on the HaNoi city tour bus just passing this park. People and children were relaxing and playing there

Ly Thai To Monument Hall is an open plaza with beautiful garden surrounding the statue of King Ly Thai To. The statue is built facing the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, the famous lake located at the Old Quarter of Hanoi City. Ly Thai To was one the king in Vietnam history. He was the one who moved the capital from Ninh Binh to Ha Noi. This monument hall is best visited during day time. Some visitors came her to pay respect as well by burning incense or putting flowers. To reach this location, walking is the best way from any side of Hoan Kim Lake or else you may hop on e-hailing Grab service. No entrance ticket is needed.

The Emperor Ly Thai To Monument in Hanoi is a truly imposing bronze statue that commands attention. This magnificent monument is a tribute to history and culture, and it stands tall and proud in the heart of the city. What sets this monument apart is not only its historical significance but also the meticulous upkeep of the surrounding area. The square where it resides is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, providing a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city. It's a great place to take a leisurely stroll, snap some photos, or simply reflect on the rich history it represents. Visiting the Emperor Ly Thai To Monument is not just an opportunity to appreciate the artistry of the statue but also a chance to soak in the tranquil atmosphere of this well-maintained public space. A spacious place to relax while walking around Hoan Kiem lake. Nice view and watching children playing is quite relaxing as well. It’s a popular place for children and young people to exercise skating and dancing. The statute of the King is where visitors take photos with.

This is a cultural and architectural work which aims to honour King Ly Thai To (974 – 1028). He is the first king who found Capital Citadel of Thang Long (Hanoi today). In February, 2003, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Information launched a contest to design the statue of King Ly Thai To. The design of sculptor Vi Thi Hoa (Vietnam Fine Arts Association) was selected from 29 other designs. The statue was cast on August 17, 2004 and inaugurated on October 7, 2004. This is the biggest pure bronze statue in Vietnam with weight of 34 tons (the statue of 12 tons and its stage of 20 tons), height of 10.10m (6.8m-high statue, 3.3m-high stage). The number 1010 corresponds with foundation year of the Capital Citadel of Thang Long.

Interesting statue of an important figure in Vietnamese history, but if you’re looking for English language information you’ll be disappointed. Instead you’ll have to read up online. The monument itself is really well done with nice stonework; the paving and walls are adorned with interesting motifs and carvings. A decent number of trees surround the perimeter of the site.

The Emperor Ly Thai To Monument in Hanoi is a beautiful cultural and historical architectural structure located in the heart of the city, offering a direct view of Hoan Kiem Lake. Standing at approximately 10 meters tall, adorned with intricate and detailed sculptures, it serves as a magnificent symbol of Hanoi's thousand-year history. The surrounding area is spacious, clean, and refreshing, adorned with numerous green trees planted on both sides and a wide open courtyard at the back. People often come here for sightseeing or exercise, enjoying a leisurely walk around the monument. If you're touring Hanoi, passing through the Old Quarter, taking a moment to visit this monument is worthwhile. It not only provides an opportunity to delve into history but also offers a chance to experience something new amidst the bustling city.

Well, at the beginning, the statue of liberty stood there, at the end of the 19th century. After that, the statue of Paul Bert, and now, King Ly Thay To. Nice place to enjoy, especially on the weekends when the road around the lake is blocked for motorized vehicles.

Saw a lot of people taking photos so I went to check out this attraction. This bronze statue is of a former emperor, who founded what is now modern Hanoi. There were teens practising their skateboarding skills while some mature ladies congregated near the statue and seemed to enjoy chatting among themselves. A nice park to visit.
