It is just located 5 minutes walking distance from the Indian embassy. It is located a little inside the street but you will find some happy faces to guide you there. The hospitality and vibes of the restaurant are good and the owners are kind. The restaurant is a home-run restaurant. They have good and delicious vegan food at affordable prices. They offer free water refills even if you don't buy anything from them and there are free wifi and a restroom. Recommended- Banh mi

Above expectations for Hanoi. After having tried a lot of Banh Mi’s in Hoi An, we were a bit disappointed with the bahn mi’s in Hanoi. However this one was amazing and made me think of the Hoi An Banh Mi’s again. 11/10 would recommend (especially the one with tofu balls and peanut sauce)

Delicious vietnamese vegan street food run by a local family! Prices have increased a bit since the last pictures were posted on Google so I post new pictures, but it's still reasonable. They just made us pay a price a bit higher than the one indicated on the menu for no particular reason (?). Update : I appreciate your reply that shows me it was an honest mistake (which can happen) so it's enough for me, no need to compensate, I prefer to support your place and your values :) I wish you good luck with your business!

**UPDATE** After raving how good this place was, I went back the next week. I ordered the pepper sauce banh mi. I watched and the lady puts the food in the microwave. It wasn't nice at all. The soya was very rubbery and not a nice taste at all. Afterwards I got really bad heartburn after I'd eaten the food. I had the Tofu ball Banh mi for breakfast and it was delicious. Definitely recommend and good prices.

Their mixed & falafel vegan bahn mi was amazing! Bread was crunchy and the filling taste good, very enjoyable. They also have fried dumpling which I cannot remember the menu name, but it's a must try because the savoury filling combined with sweet and sour dipping sauce plus crunchy dumpling skin while hot, tasted very delicious! They also offer free water refill, so you can bring a bottle to fill with water. The location itself located inside an alley, we walked to reach to the location, as for car or motorbike parking, I think not many, and the restaurant itself very small, as I remember if dine in only has 2-3 tables. We visited during their early open time, so its only us who dine in, then an hour later, other visitors start to came in. If you are looking for vegan bahn mi and vegan fried dumpling, this place is a must try.

I wouldn’t have found this place if it weren’t for Google, but I’m so glad I did! It’s tucked away in a corridor between two buildings and has the most amazing vegan/vegetarian friendly meals in all of Hanoi! It was very tasty and the staff was kind and welcoming. They wash and prepare the meals with filtered water which is a huge plus. Highly recommend!

Based on the reviews and where we were walking we decided to check this little shop out and were not disappointed. Keep your eyes peeled for the alleyway with the Vegan Banh Mi sign. The original tofu banh mi was excellent. Wife had the noodle plate with spring rolls which she loved as well. Staff were very friendly and the value is tough to beat. Recommended!

Very tasty Banh mi and nudles. The owners are very nice too. Everything is delicious and clean inside cafe. Don't be afraid of passing to this cafe inside everything is fine and comfortable. I recommend for all vegetarians.

Please visit this wonderful but modest vegan restaurant of 3 tables run by a lovely vegan family whenever possible at Hanoi. The beautiful little girl is vegan since birth and we saw her doing her homework on one table. She is helping her parents with taking the order and speaks gud English. Its so heart warming to see such young girl help parents so nicely and be a proud vegan. 🪷🪷🪷🙏🏼😌

This is truly a hidden gem that we wish we had found sooner. Authentic, delicious, heartwarming and unique. The only thing that tops the food is the kindness of the amazing family that manages the restaurant.

Tucked in a back alley, this family run food place was delicious. We got the tofu ball banh mi,falafel banh mi, and the fries spring rolls! The fried rolls were amazing and crunchy. Everything was super fresh and mild. You just need to be brave going into the small alley. Would happily have again. The owners were friendly too :)

We loved to be hosted in such a nice and not touristic place. We found the rolls amazing and the Banh mi experience interesting. The all "vegan" atmosphere was a plus. This is not for everyone but vegan would love it

Hidden gem in Hanoi. One of the best Banh Mi’s we’ve had. Super tasty, packed with different flavours. Every bite was a treat. Our favourite was the tofu balls banh mi. Also we were allowed to take some folders about nutritional sources for vegans. Thank you!

Great food. Every banh mi I've tried here has been excellent. The banh bao and the fried dumpling are both fantastic. The family running the place is lovely. Heads up, the place is small and there's not much seating

What a hidden gem!! The food is great and the price is even better! Best Banh Mi we ate in Hanoi! The mixed noodles were equally good, very well balanced. Steamed bun and spring rolls were delicious too! Highly recommend!!

This is the best vegan food I've had in vietnam. It's so affordable (two sandwiches and one appetizer was 95,000 vnd). They offer free filter water bottle filling, even if you don't eat there and the family who runs it is so sweet. We ate there 2 times in one day.

Excellent pho and steamed bun. Cool little restaurant with an even cooler ethos and super friendly owners. Free water refills too for reusable water bottles! Look for the alleyway to find it, you won't be disappointed. Lovely vegan food which doesn't cost the earth (literally and figuratively!)

Very simple but good vegan food. If you are looking for a traditional but vegan option of the Vietnamese Banh this is a good option. The bread was super crispy. It is a very simple, hidden place. Very friendly lady that runs the place.

Lovely keepers of this vegan food stall. It is popular with locals. I was there this afternoon and there was not a huge selection of food but maybe they have more at other times of the day? The savory foods they had were spring roll and an other, half circle shaped, pastry. They were both good. Not an explosion of flavor, but good. Then they have all sorts of sweet slimy stuff. I tried what my table neighbors were having. Some sort of biege bean mush, I believe, that was spooned over ice together with some sort of milk and topped off with thin strips of taro (?). It was allright.

It's an amazing small vegan street food in the center of Hanoi managed by local vegan family. I found this vegan food cart 2 years ago, at since then I've been eating there pretty often. They have vegan samosas, fried spring rolls, vietnamese donuts and che, vietnamese cold bean dessert. All of these foods are delightful! And lately, they've started to serve vegan banh mi(vietnamese version of "Subway" sandwich), which is delicious as well. This place is not expensive at all, so I'm happy to eat here!

Awesome vegan food and friendly staff! I recommend the slightly more expensive baguette. I went the twice, the second time for an early breakfast but I didn’t realise it doesn’t open until 10. The woman was still happy to make me two of the cheaper baguette to take away though.

One my first day in Vietnam, I more or less randomly (thanks Happy Cow) stumbled upon this place. What can I say, I loved it! Very affordable, delicious food, and friendly people. You can even come to this place, just to refill your waterbottle for free, in order to save so plastic. Love the mindset!

Great vegan spot in Vietnam for the most delicious Bahn mi we had on our trip. Really fresh ingredients. We had the shredded mushroom Bahn mi and the tofu peanut, both were leaving us thinking about it after we left Hanoi. We even got 2 more to takeaway for our flight home. Very friendly family business with his daughter speaking perfect English to us and explaining how their family turned vegan. Tucked down a little alley within a small restaurant off the bustle of the main road it is a perfect quick lunch spot, with an open kitchen where you can see your food being made. Can’t wait to return next time I’m in Hanoi

We got best banh mi of our Vietnam trip on last day at this place. She made it according to our requirements. The whole family is very friendly. They took great care of my kids too. The daughters of the owner were super cute and good in English. We feel like at home during our 1 hour stay at this place. Please visit this place during Hanoi stay. Don't go by outer of this venue as it is not a fancy restaurant.

Lovely little family run restaurant with delicious food and very reasonably prices. I ordered the Shumai tofu ball banh mi (tofu, mushrooms, onions, peanut sauce) and the steamed bun (vermicelli, soy, veggies). I also really liked their story (see image). I would highly recommend you to eat here!

A lot of places in Hanoi may claim to serve the best Vegan Banh Mi but it’s only true for this little food stall. The Banh Mi is divine, crunchy and flavourful. My weaknesses is the falafel banh mi with a side of their spicy chilli sauce. The spring roll and crunchy wonton-like dumpling are also to die for. I ate here first time 6 years ago and the flavour, kindness of the chef and affordability remains unchanged.

  • 5/5 Anna R. 1 year ago on Google
Incredible experience and amazing vegan banh Mi. It was the perfect stop for a vegan lunch in Hanoi. There were 5 options for different vegan Bahn Mi and a range of other vegan foods such as spring rolls- all for affordable prices and the food was more than worth the money. They further demonstrate commitment to the environment by offering free filtered water and to fill up your own water bottles to avoid the need to buy plastic bottles. I left my water bottle on the table and they ran down the street after us to ensure it was returned- will go above and beyond. Will definitely be back when in Hanoi again

I came for food one day and it was so good I came back again the next! Everything is delicious and cooked with a lot of love. I’ve tried most things on the menu and it was all yummy. Their story at the front of their menu is worth a read. Such a lovely little business to support and really great authentic food that’s vegan!

Very tasty and friendly little vegan place! We sat on little chairs along the road which was cute as the kitchen / restaurant itself is in a little alleyway so not a lot of space. The vegan bao buns and noodles in sweet and sour sauce were a highlight. Pho also pretty tasty!

Tonight I had a truly beautiful meal of the mixed banh mi and a steamed bun and the flavours where perfect. The food is delicious, but what truly made this a wonderful experience was little Daisy, who is an absolute delight to have a conversation with while mum is cooking. Daisy is a very smart little girl who's English is fantastic. Little Daisy is the best waitress I've ever had with a big smile on her face. So Daisy thank you very much for your time and conversation today. You have truly made my day perfect, and I can see why your favourite banh mi is the mixed one. I would definitely recommend to everyone vegan or not.

Great value and tasty. And they’re vegan. The place is located after the OCB building, through metal outer gates which are open during the day. It’s a small place down an alley between buildings.

Well tucked away down a little walk way. It’s only a few tables set up in a stairway foyer, nothing fancy. This has honestly got to be one of the best Bahn Mi’s I’ve had in Hanoi! #veganbahnmi

The experience was interesting… you are sitting in the owner/cook’s kitchen. While I was there the children came home from school, so there was a lot of running around going on. There are also quite a few mosquitos! So make sure to put some repellant on. The menu is small, but what I received was quite nice. The fried rolls were definitely better than the rice paper rolls though. Was an interesting experience, but I wouldn’t go back.

We had a great time at this wonderful vegan restaurant. It felt like having a Vietnamese home food, it was super neat, delicious and most importantly such great people. Especially those two kids we interacted who speak very good English and sweetheart they were. If you are in Vietnam and if you are a vegan, this is the place you are looking for ♥️

Interior: typically Vietnamese backyard location. Familiar atmosphere. Service: very very friendly family with 2 children. The older one speaks very well English and has proper pronunciation. Kudos to her - she tought herself. Food: the taste is absolutely phenomenal. Not too intrusive. The soup for the noodles has a very light body, decent and perfectly pairing with the fresh herbs and noodles/veggies. The fried spring roles are not too greasy, the dough is thinn and just perfect crispy. The bread for the “Banh Mi” is light, crispy and fluffily, but not too dry. The filling is just as balanced as the taste. This simply (or not simply) food is surpassing many fine dining restaurants I have eaten in. I not only recommend this place I would strongly say it is a must for every vegan or non-vegan open minded person.

This is located in a small alley, you have to enter a small gate. The house number is visible outside. Their food is delicious but the dining area is not appealing. Overall, it's an okay place.

The BEST vegan Banh MI in the whole of Vietnam! You will not be disappointed! We stayed in Hanoi for 7 days overall and came here 4 times. Sometimes for breakfast, but mostly for dinner and it was our favourite place. The Shumi banh mi is my favourite with peanut sauce. Plus the pillow dumplings are so yummy and to die for. The family are incredibly sweet and kind. The food is very inexpensive for the quality and the service overall. One night we had dinner and got takeaway banh mi for a long bus journey breakfast the next day and they were still delicious. Highly recommended!!!

Amazing place,it’s very hard to find vegan street food in Vietnam. They are doing a great job. Read their story in my pictures. You will definitely want to come here to cut short on one animal that was killed for your meal.

I had the most amazing food here! Wish could give 6 stars! The familiy owning the place is vegan themself. Don't be afraid because the entrance to the alley looks a bit 'old'! The food is top notch, the Bahn Mi are really stuffed with fresh ingredients and delicious 👌 I'll come back!

The venue is down a little alley way and it seems to be at a family’s residence. The people who served us were very friendly and sweet. The food was very tasty, cheap and all vegan! I would highly recommend coming to support these guys! Great to have vegan Vietnamese food that isn’t westernised!🙂

Great banh mi, friend spring rolls, mixed noodle soup and buns! Nice homely feel. Located off the Main Street (look for the vegan banh mi sign), turn into the small side alley and it is about 1 min walk down. Can’t go wrong with the prices either, definitely going back
