We came here for a cocktail and the experience was great! First of all they bring you towels to clean your hand and then the experience is amazing! The cocktail menu is quite big and there is a big selection. Also the environment inside is really well taken care of! Nice cocktail bar overall.

Went here on my first day in Hanoi. I really enjoyed the quality of the drinks and the atmosphere. Therefore, had to go on the last day to also end my trip on a good note. Out of all the bars I visited in Hanoi, this one offered both the best drinks and service. I enjoyed chatting with Uong who made me feel very welcome and made excellent drinks , whilst also sharing his knowledge of liquor and beyond. Other bartenders and patrons were chatty and welcoming as well. This bar is a must visit, either alone or in good company.

Amazing Cocktails and amazing staff. Very professional and knowledgeable mixologist. I've been here many time. Good place for a good cocktail or a nice out out or even for a date. Highly recommend. As mentioned, been here multiple times in the past and can't wait to come back to Hanoi and check this place out again.

Great drinks and a really cozy atmosphere, we all loved it.drinksnwere great, the bartender took careful time to make the drinks, they recommended some good drinks as well. The staff was really nice too. We were a group of 6, and they didn't make any fuss about splitting the bill three ways 😅. The music was really nice, and the volume was just right, not too loud, not too subtle either.

Highly overhyped! Service was awesome, kind and friendly as much as possible. The bar has a coherent concept, pretty nice. But: the cocktails are really expensive on the one hand. And what you get for your price on the other hand is mostly just a huge icecube! Barely no ingredients beside the ice in the glass. Better chose another bar.

Located at the 2nd floor of Mojito Bar , The Alchemist is a great place ,good drink collection! Everytime I go back here I try different new great drinks. Atmosphere is amazing ,good prices, well trained staff and sometimes live music! I also really enjoy their maxi huge drinks!

The Alchemist has been around for a long time and was one of the firsts in Hanoi cocktail scene so they know what to do. Nice interior and they had a nice vibe going on Sat night. Friendly and polite service. Only complaint was the food, I had a mixed cherry tomatoes, cheese, olives.. salad thingy but not much cheese or tomatoes, mostly celery and onion 😅

Great place to chill. Bit expensive for some 'normal' drinks.

Excellent bar in Hanoi at the old quarter. The mixologists are really professional and cocktail list is extensive amd exciting. Finger food is also delicious. Reminds me of the very sophisticated cocktail bar scene on Barcelona. Keep it up! Must visit for bar/cocktail lovers.

What a fantastic cocktail bar. All the details that go into creating each signature cocktail is it truly makes this place special. The staff gives excellent recommendations, ambience and every detail of the space makes it cool and cozy. I want to highlight the staff again because they really are the heart and soul of this place. This part of town is packed with cocktail bars, but the staff here really went above and beyond - 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

Great cocktails. Service was ok but i am guessing it was due to the language barrier. Bartender spoke great english and was very friendly. Brought my parents and they enjoyed it.

very interesting cocktail menu at alchemist, you’re bound to find something you like. alternatively, you can also ask the bartender to customise a drink for you. they played a lot of bruno mars the night i was there - just what i like!

The bar is closed a bit too soon during week days, when i arrived on 12:30am, it already closed. The drinks are good and the food is ok. The owner worked hard to make everything going smoothly for the night, included the music and the atmosphere. Pitiful for me that it allowed people to smoke inside, but who is really care about smoke while poisoning themselves with good whiskey.

Planned to bar hop with this bar as the first stop but we stayed since the drinks and vibes were so great. Bartenders were skilled and seemed to enjoy themselves.

Add to your Hanoi list. The cocktails are excellent. Balanced, creative and delicious. We visited from the US and these drinks rival anything you would get at any fancy big city cocktail bar there. The service was also incredibly friendly. Absolute gem of a place. We wish we lived closer!

Great staff, good drinks, and amazing live jazz music. We didn’t like the cigar smoke/smell - they allowed smoking indoors - but I understand there was nothing the staff could do.

The vibes at the place were immaculate! The decor was great, and we loved that the menu was like a story book. Super creative. The drinks were also very creative which I always love, but the flavors sometimes were a little too strange. But that is ok! If I went back, I would try something different. Definitely still worth the visit.

This is one of the best cocktail bars I have been in Hanoi. The staff was more professional than other bars, and they could recommend you drinks. The jazz music complements the atmosphere well. Their take on Old Fashioned was refreshing while still keeping the essence of the drink. I didn't like the tonic in my gin and tonic though. I thought the tonic was too sweet and overpowering.

Awesome fresh atmosphere with delicious cocktails. Do expect them to be a bit pricey (200-250k), but they are 110% worth it.

Fantastic Staff, Outstanding Bar Team, Superb Cocktails and Music to keep the night going for long! We went to The Alchemist on New Year’s Eve 2022 and were welcomed by the staff even though we did not have a reservation. We had a total of 6 cocktails and 2 glasses of Bubbly courtesy the Bar Team. The Cocktails were world class, the food, however, was just not ok. While we didn’t go there for the food, we were left a bit underwhelmed with the Pizza, which was the only thing at The Alchemist that had zero effort. The drinks, however, were great. We had one each of the Penicillin, Make it Happen, Negroni and Sidecar - all top notch! This is a must visit place if you like cocktails!

Don’t leave Hanoi without having a cocktail in this bar. Simply the best

Wow, jaw dropping cocktails are served here. By far my favourite bar that I have visited in Hanoi. Vibe was pretty strong in this place with jazz playing in the background. Mixologists and waiters were friendly and knowledgeable in their craft. Cocktails, you really have to try it yourself, it's really by far the most unique in the city.

Fancy bar frequented by locals. Located in a dark little alley that's quiet outside though, but it was happening inside till 1am with lots of fun friendly guests and staff.

As an fyi to tourists, no flip flops but sneakers accepted! Could take a look inside though and the decor is really nice.

Psydo service attitude and overhyped. One time service ok, with attitude, but next time they moved me around, because on the tables I have chosen was no candle and flower!!!! First with these prices you cant afford those shabby tea candles and second what if I wanted to sit there? There are enough bars now with same flair that you don’t need this. As well no beer, not even some more exclusive sorts that would keep put the beer crowd.
