Saw the review for this pub and being close to my hotel i decided to give it a try. Beautiful, friendly very relaxed pub. It become my every evening stopover 🙃The bar guy T has always got this wonderful welcoming smile. The iced Beer is amazing 👏 Apparently i found out that you can order food from the Countryside Restaurant - (Beautiful restaurant by the way!)which i went to for my meals and have it in the pub. Cozy little pub that opens late. The draft beer is really nice and refreshing. Service is great too. We were supposed to go back the next night but was too tired from all the walking in the day. Definitely recommend to visit!

The owner HANH is very friendly, the beer is very cold, the cocktails are delicious and strange, come here to feel it

I love this place!!!❤️ My friends and I were in Hanoi for 4 days and the first night in Hanoi we walk by and decided to go in and we did not regret this decision. The drinks are very affordable and taste really good. Thìn THE only bartender there was absolutely awesome and wholesome. He was alone but still did a great job with the order even though we were a bigger group of people. At our time in Hanoi we went there three times and have the best time with Thìn there. I really recommend this pub

Great pub! The prices are comparatively cheap, the bartender (and owner?) Thìn was unbelievably friendly and tolerant (we were a biit loud) and we had the best time in Hanoi thanks to him. The drinks are great and even though he was alone we did not have to wait that long to get our orders. Definitely give it a try!

Great chilled bar. Super cold beer on tap. And the service is outstanding. Have returned many times and will do again. Feel so at home at this pub

Come to this friendly pub for refreshing and inexpensive ice-cold beer (and other drinks of your choice). People/street watch as you enjoy fabulous pizza or one of the many dishes on their menu. Located on Bat Su, off the main chaotic streets yet lots to grab your attention . . . and quench your thirst! Outstanding friendly, attentive, and responsive service.

Found this lovely friendly pub the last 2 nights of our holiday. It is literally 5 minutes walk from our hotel but it is very difficult to find (using google maps) The bar man (whose name I have written down, but don’t want to spell wrong) works tirelessly. He is such a decent guy and does as much he can to serve his customers. Embarrassing though, some of them seemed to take him for granted and were quite rude to him. I am unsure if pizzas are delivered to the premises or prepared there. However some people expected a pizza within 5 minutes of ordering and didn’t even buy a drink when waiting on pizza then paying and leaving with it. Most of the customers were polite and decent, however the 2 nights we visited I was embarrassed by members of a couple of groups from the UK. The pub is atmospheric and serves a good selection of drink & food. In fact the Vietnamese draught lager served in a frozen glass is among the most refreshing I have taste. We return to VN in November so will certainly be visiting Thao’s Pub then. Thanks, Martin

We happened by this place and stopped for a cold soda- stayed for the ice cold beer and good conversation with the owner. She is lovely and kind, the street is less hectic but still festive in the Old Quarter. Menu features “slow rise dough” homemade pizza, which we will go back to try. Family business- excellent service!

Super cute little bar. They have some amazing cocktails there. I highly recommend trying the Polynesian remedy, it was hands down one of the best cocktails I've ever had in Hanoi. Very friendly staff - especially My the cocktail queen! Great vibes here and super chilled place. Highly recommend!

super place! we were out drinking and found this place. The bartender Thìn was so sweet and was doing his best eventough he was working alone. We were having so much fun and also with Thìn that we came back the next 2 days and we didn't stay long in Hanoi. The drinks are great and they have a many drinks to choose from. The place is giving an old pub vibe, just like pubs should be.

It's located in the center of the city. It's small and beautiful place. The owner Thao is very kind and had a very good conversation. It's open till midnight and should try the pizza it's very tasty

Dropped in every day for our 4 days at hanoi , our hotel was 2 minutes away , the staff are exceptional nothing to much trouble , charged our phones for us , and really good free internet , cold beer and the food was absolutely delicious from a breakfast to a evening meal. I really enjoyed the banana smoothie. Just little touches makes you remember., and to Thao we love you

Great selection of drinks and very reasonably priced. The service is great! Very attentive and friendly, he was making all the drinks, helping customers get their bikes out and directing tourists to other venues. So great!

The place is nice, comfortable and ambient. The owner is very nice and helpful. The place is on the walking distance from the famous Hoan Kien lake and the Train Street of Ha Noi. So you can visit these two places and use this Theo's Pub as a resting place in between.

I just have to say, this place is amazing! The owner thao is such an incredible women. She gave me the most experience. She’s been here since birth and made me feel like family. As a solo female traveller from Australia this is all you can ask for!!! Please go in and support her! You will not be disappointed!!!!

I have been to the Thao’s Pub and experienced many drinks here. My favorite is the Margarita Cocktail. The space here is extremely chill and wonderful. The owner of the restaurant is enthusiastic and attentive. If I have a chance to go back to Hanoi, I will come back to the restaurant and enjoy the drinks and food here.

I had just gotten off of 26 hours of travel from NYC to Hanoi enduring tight spaces, terrible airline food and high levels of stress. Once reaching my Hostel the bar across the street caught my attention as it had a decent crowd. Stopped in when looking for a decent meal and from the owner on down was treated like a VIP! Very kind and helpful people working here, super good food (especially for westerners looking for something familiar). We had one of the fresh dough pizza and poutine which were both incredible and reasonably priced. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Hanoi looking for western style food!

Thin, the bartender / host is the most friendliest & humble soul I could find in Hanoi . I came here everyday just for his positive vibes :) be ready to dwell in some good ol 80’s music

Absolutely incredible bar if you fancy a quiet spot to drink in good company. Hanh, the owner, is a lovely lady who is welcoming, friendly, and does whatever she can to ensure you have a good time drinking. Great coffee here, too!

It’s a really nice pub, cheap beer and amazing cocktails. They have happy hour from 4pm-6pm: buy one draft beer, get one free. Besides, they have great music and ambience. Highly recommend it

Very very nice service. As a German: the beer was good! Music was loud but not too noisy and fits perfect the Ambiente.

We loved it here! Thao was so chatty with us and made us feel so welcome! The cocktails are great and the larger is reasonably priced! There’s tonnes of bar settings in Hanoi but not many pub’s so we were glad to find this place! Thanks Thao :)

Can't comment on the evenings but if you want a great place to pass a couple of hours in the afternoon this is it. Calm and not crowded, watch the world go by. The eponymous Thao is a top guy who could run a decent pub anywhere in the world. Do yourself a favour and drink the Super Cup, not the usual cooking lager...

I am disappointed to be leaving only two stars as myself and my girlfriend enjoyed the cold drinks and ambiance of this pub. It was when we are going to pay, the drinks were suddenly a different price. Of the draught menu offered, you could only order 1 of the 4 options. We found out when paying that we were getting charged slightly more than said on the menu as there was two different sizes(wasn’t specified to us beforehand). The price was slightly higher but it was more the principle of giving people what they ordered. Another group also had a similar issue when they went to pay.

Small but friendly pub. A good place to meet fellow travellers. Good cocktails at decent prices. The young lady owner Thao has recently acquired another business which will be a restaurant. Her aim is to provide food from the restaurant for pub patrons. She seemed like she wanted to create a good experience for travellers like myself.

Great casual bar in the centre of Hanoi with a good range of affordable tasty cocktails! Our mojitos were delicious!

This is a really lovely place, Thin and Lan are super nice and are courteous about your ordering. If I were ever to come back to Hanoi I would absolutely visit this place again!

Excellent place for drinks and meeting good people. The staff are very friendly and approachable. They are good at having conversations with while you are traveling. This place is definitely recommend for all sorts of tourists (both local and foreign), expats and local Hanoian's. Good vibes always and cheers.

I cannot say enough good things about this bar. They were considering closing due to slow down but after several people expressed interest they stayed open Will get you any food you like or want Friendly chicken on premises. Amazing service. Highly recommended
