First of all 4.9 stars reviews caught my attention. We ordered several foods, and soon enough we knew the food wasn't as spectacular as how people review it here with 5 stars. We were bummed, it said sauteed chicken with chilli, but not at all spicy, more like super duper oily, we had a hard time swallowing it without feeling slimy down our throat. We also ordered a Hanoi spring roll, it was also oily, next food was Pandan fried rice, oh my God, i didn't even know how they cooked it, rice was dry! Feels like eating rice crunches, no moisture left and that along with the same oily problem. In short everything was excessive with oils and pricey. The restaurant looks a tad bit dirty too (for a standard of being inside a hotel). And the supervisor (he was the cashier too) asked us if we had problems or something we wanted to say, to just tell him personally. We got the gist of "don't you dare write a negative review about our place, because i already offer you to say it directly to me". He also said because the place is just newly opened after the impact of covid. But sorry sir, 4.9 stars rating while your food is not even as close as how people might expect, is also not correct in my opinion. We were one of many lowest rating commenters here that got disappointed. I don't randomly give 5 stars to any restaurant just because they ask me to do so.

Food was good but we waited approx 2 hours for everything to arrive which is way too long. Approx $100audfor 6 people which is definitely on the pricier side. We left still feeling hungry. The chicken we ordered was really good. Definitely more geared towards tourist and foreigners.

Booked for New Year’s Eve but very disappointed. They only serve set menu on this night and it cost 1,399,000 VND. 1: servers coughs loudly without covering their mouth. 2: tuna salad that uses can tuna 3: the “flaming steak” was flamed with flaming rum poured over it, but the rum then made the entire steak tasted bitter, like legitimately bitter, even its black pepper sauce can’t cover it. 4: the whole show of chefs pouring flaming rum on the steak was just a gimmick. P/S: lessons learned, google reviews in Hanoi is very deceiving because most restaurants would ask for reviews at the end of your meal and then they stood by your side until you are done reviewing. Hence most restaurants here are 4 stars and above.

There is an experience of being able to set foot in and enjoy the food at this Vietnamese restaurant. As for the service, Vietnam is always a hospitable and friendly country, so when you come here, everything from entering, ordering or even when the food is brought out, everything is good, even very good compared to my expectations As for food, Vietnamese food is known to be very good, especially compared to foreign countries, especially in terms of seasonings and sauces & accompanying things. And the food at this Viet Res really surprised me about the specialties of Vietnam and Hanoi. That's all I want to say and look forward to inviting foreigners and even Vietnamese to experience the service and food here👍🏿

I and my wife - Mochiimei just had marvelous dinner last night. The food is delicious, and the amounts are more than I had anticipated. Excellent customer service from waiter Scott and the other employees. Definitely a strong recommend.

The food is amazing! Very good value for money, the staff are very helpful. If you happen to go ask for Scott as a waiter, he is by far the best and the most friendly member of staff there. I highly recommend the flaming grilled beef with butter

We came here twice in a row because of how good it was. Superb quality, no matter what you order. They were open during tet, which was very nice of them as it is a national holiday. Their amazing service does not go unnoticed. The Hanoi rolls are so delicious, highly recommend. Cocktails are yummy. You can eat at the rooftop bar too.

Viet restaurant was excellent. Very chic setting, food was amazing, and service from our waiter Sam was above and beyond ! Their drinks are really good and it shows that the recipes were researched. The rice is amazingly cooked too. A bit more expensive than the average in Vietnam, but you pay what you get 👌 And don’t forget the city view from above (it’s on the 8th floor). Worth a visit !

Price is higher than in most restaurants in Hà Nội, but the excellent service and food are definitely worth it. The portions are also very generous and the waiter, Mr Scott, was especially friendly and very helpful.

This place has good food, but it solicits reviews in exchange for a 5% bill discount. Expect to pay 200-300k VND per item here.

me and my family have just 1 week in Hanoi, we are Vietnamese and just comeback home after 50 years. This is our last day in Hanoi just cross the road and see the restaurant. OMG the atmosphere is amazing, it’s cozy and beautiful. I ordered the Bun Cha and the Hanoi grilled fish, and it’s the best vnese i ever tried in my life. The staff is very cute and professional. i will come back 1 day and enjoy Viet restaurant very much :3

I highly recommend this restaurant is part of your trip. Yes, try the street food, and when you're on your day trips or cruises, you probably have buffets, but if you like me, you like a sit-down meal, then this is the place! It's in a hotel on the 8th floor but don't let that put you off. I have been travelling for 5 months and the steak I had here was only better in Argentina! Yep, amazing beef steak! The portion sizes are big, too.

A restaurant located at the top of a hotel offering some lovely views of the city. The atmosphere itself is intimate and cozy, offering a personal dining experience. Our starters were good, but the mains were superb. The local dish Bun Cha was brilliant, and their cuts of meat are lovely. We got the tasting combo for the local liqueur, with the staff choosing the last flavour. They were lovely and offered a taste of the local spirits. Our server, Sam, was brilliant. He was professional and yet friendly and offered us some great advice on the menu - the best service we have received in Vietnam. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a fancier place to eat in Hanoi.

Had a wonderful experience for diner here! My Waiter Tony was the BEST! Never had a server be so welcoming and friendly! Explained everything about the specific menus items I was interested in and even the significant of certain dishes in Vietnamese culture! I had the Bun Cha and the spring rolls and they were both super flavorful and well balanced! Excellent service all around :)

What an experience! Beautiful food and a beautiful decor and ambience to suit! Our server Hieu was a delight! So attentive and polite! Such a wonderful person! Cooked my beef on fire at the table and was cooked to perfection. We also got a great chance to talk to him which really was a wonderful part to our experience! The food was delightful With schrimps to start and finishing with stir fried chicken and beef on fire! The whole experience was wonderful! Would recommend to everyone! Hieu your a star!!!

One of the best, if not the best Vietnamese food you could eat in Hanoi. The atmosphere and service are fabulous 🤩. Our waiter was Hieu, he was very helpfull and kind, he told us about Vietnam cuisine and Hanoi city. Highly recommend.

First night in Hanoi and I wanted to spoil myself a little by eating at a nice dine in restaurant. The Ban Cha here is out of this world and the staff are great. Mr Scott took care me and he speaks perfect English to help us travelers. Very well priced for the quality and dining experience.

Had a great dinner experience in a nice colonial/modern interior ambiance. Restaurant is located on the 9th floor (JM hotel) and has a few tables at the window. Its not a skyline view but it was nice to sit at the window and see some light happenings over the roofs. Staff are superb friendly and the food was good, especially if you like to have a pleasant seating and some good atmosphere in enjoying your meal. Would recommend dish roasted chicken with lemongrass, chili and salad with sesam dressing

First time in Vietnam and found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. It lives up to the hype! Great service and quality and Emma was such a doll! Visited on 9/19 for lunch and ordered the crepe for app, beef with coconut and fried rice with chicken and pineapple - all delicious!

While this place falls on the more expensive side of the spectrum, the price is completely justified by the quality of the food your are getting. The waiters are all very professional and polite, and will give you an experience that would net you twice as much in other countries. The food was simply amazing, quantities were anything but small, yet the flavors bespoke a minute attention to detail and great skill. Me and my partner were both very pleasantly surprised with the high quality of our meal. The Restaurant is located in a hotel, making the place quite easy to find and especially private. Perfect spot for a date or to meet someone important.

They have just reopened after covid and I can only say good things about it: - staff is extremely friendly, - service is quick, - the decoration is great, with great taste, - the food is delicious, - being offered green tea at the end was just amazing. OMG THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!!!! We got pumpkin soup, beef in betel leaves, and eggplant with shrimp. Everything was incredibly delicious- awesome flavors and textures, and quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. There was a variety of menu selections, more than the usual dishes that that you see everywhere throughout Vietnam. Beautiful ambience, great service as well. We would definitely recommend.

Had dinner here with my colleague, kinda vibe tho the grilled fishes were pretty impressive, givin off some tastebuds explosions. however few of my local friends claim that the "mam tom" wasnt good, worth a try if ure staying around the phoco

We absolutely loved this restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff incredibly friendly (their English is very good, so communication was very easy) and the view was great. Nice atmosphere, away from the crowds and noise. Food nicely presented. We had a complimentary green tea and a Vietnamese candy.

Came in on a Sunday evening around 7:45PM. Didn’t have a reservation but was able to be seated. We ordered the bun cha, the grilled beef, and the fresh spring rolls. The food was great, presentation was delightful, and it was a fun experience cooking our own beef over the grill. Service was wonderful!

Amazing hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant while staying at the JM Marvel Hotel & Spa is the highlight of the trip. There are so many food and drink choices both Western, but especially local flavors. The Vietnamese coffee with condense milk, the DIY mini baguette bread with cheese and ham is great when toasted, the rotation bowl of noodle soups, the fresh cut fruits, etc. The staffs are helpful and always friendly.

The atmosphere is Vietnamese and food is authentic. We ordered the grill chicken and pork ribs. While both dishes sound normal, the spices they use brought the Vietnamese out from each dish.. super-delicious! Restaurant is on the 8th floor of JM Marvel hotel which is in within the old quarters. Reservations is highly recommended.

With my first visit to Hanoi, my Dutch family and I read about restaurant reviews here and decided to go to the Vietnamese restaurant at JM Marvel hotel to have a culinary experience. Real Vietnamese food in the first time. When I walk into the restaurant, I can clearly see the friendliness of the staff here. There is an interesting experience here that they have a snack to start with, which is Pong Shrimp. Because this is my family's first time to Vietnam, our knowledge of Asian cuisine is still limited, but not because of that, we cannot enjoy delicious dishes, thanks to our dedication and guidance. Guided by the staff here, I have enjoyed very delicious and unique dishes such as Pho Bo, Bun Cha Hanoi and Cha Ca. Those are all typical dishes of Hanoi and it is really delicious. The space in the restaurant is really very comfortable, quiet with gentle and pleasant symphonies. Indeed, this experience is a very memorable memory for me here because of the delicious food and the personality of the staff here, I really thank the Vietnamese restaurant for this wonderful experience. And I will definitely refer my acquaintances here so they can have the same wonderful first time experience as our family.

Asian cuisine is served in a slightly different way, for example, grilled fish wrapped in banana leaf served with fresh ingredients on a bamboo tray. Diners can choose how to eat it: it can be made like spring rolls with rice paper or eaten with rice. Big portions, Asian cuisine with a European price (overpriced), the taste doesn't meet the price.

Charming fine dining on an upper floor of a hotel in Hanoi. Near the fun atmosphere of the lake in Old Quarter, which is especially great on weekends when the area surrounding the lake is closed to car and scooter traffic. Atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice! Lighting and decor are charming and lovely! Really tasty and loaded Garden Salad. All of the food we got was good. Service was excellent. Henry waited on us with such attentiveness and kindness!

This is one of the hidden gems of Hanoi, offering such a delightful experience, from the very warm staff to the beautiful view of the city to the amazing food they prepare. Mr. Scott was of great help in deciding for the meal and making sure everything was alright. I am so happy with the food choice, which had a burst of flavors that went so well together.
