Super soft buns, served warm and in a fun variety of flavours! It doesn't get much better than that. I had the vanilla and matcha buns. Both were super tasty. The price (oct 2023) was 20,000 VND per bun.

DELICIOUS! I had the Vanilla filled one, and it was just 'melt in the mouth' type of goodness! I've heard a lot about the queue and wait times for this place, but luckily when I went there (around 3pm on a Saturday) it was not crowded at all. Definitely a must try when you are in the Old Quarter and if you have a sweet tooth!

We walked past this on the way to other places, and both of us did a double take. The smell is incredible. We went back later in the day to get some, and they were freshly made, soft, and delicious. We stood at the side of the road and scoffed them. We got 1 coffee butter and 1 matcha milky, and both were amazing, but the coffee butter has the salty sweet thing going for it. Highly recommend.

I wish to commend the owner for the fairness towards customers. I had some Chinese women try to butt in front of me and on this occasion they were politely told to wait their turn. I returned the following evening to try other flavours which came hot out of the oven. Very tasty. Good price. Do you deliver to Brisbane, Australia?

One of the highlights of my solo Vietnam trip. Who knew that such as plain looking pastry can be so good and full of flavor. Had the chocolate and vanilla. Came out hot. Next time I’ll try the matcha. Like with most Vietnam food, price was reasonable and cheap.

We came here EVERY day sometimes TWICE! This “rotis” (because we are not really sure what they are) are unreeeal and for just 14K less than a dollar! So tasty, always fresh and warm! The matcha and the chocolate ones are unreal! You need to go and try them all Enjoy it

Quick service, and cheap bun, 20k vnd converting to about 0.8 euro at the time of writing. The bun is very fluffy and light compared to the "roti" close by. The filling was on the low side, however, the chocolate taste was very good!

What a great treat! On a walk back to our hotel, we saw a huge line and decided to check it out. For less than a dollar, you can get one of four different roti that have a different filling. I tried all four and they were all great. If you just wanted to try one, the standard chocolate or vanilla are good. This is a chain, so you can find them all over Hanoi. If you are walking by, stop by and grab one (or four!)

I ate one of these like 5 years ago on a trip to vietnam and a still think about them quite often. Took me a while to find it on Google maps but glad I did. Vietnam was good but these buns were great.

Great spot to grab your roti-to-go. Sadly I got my order a bit mixed up, got two vanilla instead of 1 chocolate and 1 vanilla. Filling was ok, but could be a bit more in my opinion. Bun itself is very tasty.

The best food I ate in in Hanoi for sure. Every time we passed by we couldn't keep going till we get one of these amazing pastries. Easy 5 starts.

It’s a little bakery in old quarter, I’m guessing they have a lot of clients by the quantities they make. You will always get a Roti fresh out of the oven which make it even better. I tried the matcha one. It was good. But could have a bit more filling inside it. I would recommend to try it as it’s very cheap and original.

A wonderfully crispy pastry. The customer can see when the bun is taken directly from the oven to the customer. It's worth eating while it's still warm. It has probably been baked earlier and is heated/kept warm for the customer. This is a normal practice. If you would like something, it would be a cafe where you could enjoy this and sit for a while.

Even a block away your senses will come alive and your mind will direct your body towards @KingRoti and all the deliciousness of a #roti. You smell the flavors of bread, chocolate, or vanilla wafting in the air. Then you arrive and see the baker swirl the flavors atop the round dough before placing the pan in the oven. Minutes later, the round delight appears as a mound of light fluffy goodness with a flaky crust waiting to melt on your tongue. And don’t forget about the yumminess of flavor inside that makes your eyes smile and your tongue curl faster. The fresh, out of the oven baked #roti is nothing short of a magical moment. So goooood. So darn good. Just goodness. Folks crowd around all through the day and way past closing wanting more just like me. Everyone looks on with excitement waiting to receive the brown bag of joy like it’s gold. It taste like a treasure even if it isn’t. Okay, okay, if you think I am pouring it on thick, I dare you to try it and say otherwise. KingRoti is what others aspire to be. Tried so many and this one always wins. Roti flavor options are coffee chocolate (my choice), coffee butter, vanilla Milly, and matcha milky. Service is charged with excitement, fast and friendly. They know I like mine chocolate and hot.😉 Location is city central. Follow the fresh smells of goodness wafting in the air that make you smile. It’s a def yes for me!

One of the tastiest sweet things we had to eat in Vietnam! We went twice and both times the chocolate buns were warm. Highly recommend.

Super delicious and airy buns. They are always freshly prepared and have the perfect sweetness and fluffiness along with being the perfect amount of warm. Highly recommend the Cofee and Butter Roti.

Delicious warm sweet buns filled with different creams. Clean, fast service, very sought after. Recommend! Sweet street food at its best. Just be careful, it's right on a busy street filled with traffic and you wait a bit by the road. But worth!

Oh wow this place is amazing! We didn't know what to expect when we ordered these but we found them to be just to our liking. The bread is a little crispand sweet on the outside and the inside has a very subtle hint of whatever flavour you order. The filling is not heavy and it's light and completely delicious. I can see if you're expecting something sweet and heavy you'll be disappointed. But for us it was perfect! I can't even choose a favorite - the matcha, vanilla and chocolate/coffee are all so delicious.

Went to get one of each flavor, ended up with 3 default butter flavor... The lady also doesn't really give a damn about selling the bread, was standing infront of the stall for close to 2 minutes before called out to her that i am buying.

A MUST TRY when you come to Hanoi! These unspectacular looking buns are so light, delicious and cheap. Only 20k VND (=0.80€) We highly recommend the macha flavour. Love it!

We went here in 2019 and it was delicious! I think about it frequently! The coffee salty cheese bun was so good. We also had matcha and another flavor. Super good, fresh, soft!

  • 5/5 Ryan H. 1 year ago on Google
So so good. The roti is exceptional. Definitely make sure to stop here while in Hanoi. You won’t regret this sweet treat. Would recommend sitting in the traffic circle nearby to eat it and people watch.

Soooo good! I was obsessed with these during my stay, they were always fresh out of the oven and super fluffy and buttery. The best ones for me are the ones filled with salted butter.

Soft buns with coffee cream top crust. Tried the vanilla one and the family all liked it. Service was quick. It's just a street stall so no seating. No queue in the morning.

  • 3/5 Albert W. 11 months ago on Google
I saw the line up and was expect this to be phenomenal. I saw them taking it out from oven so I thought it would be hot, but it is just warm. When I take the first bite, I was expecting a creamy filling spraying into my mouth, but there was just emptiness. I kept biting but still didn't get the kick back that I was longing for. When I finished the bun, I realized that I am eating the filling all along, but it is kind of tasteless, so I didn't even noticed that I was eating it. I would rather have a 流心菠蘿包 in Chinese bakery. 😁

A must visit in Hanoi if you like snacks. These little bread-like pastries are fluffy, crunchy, a tad sweet and lovely. We tried the Matcha bun and the Salty Coffee Cheese. They don’t have a lot of filling, but that makes for a better subtle flavour. Something I greatly appreciate in the heat of Hanoi. My favorite is the Salty Coffee Cheese. It is salty like salted butter and has a subtle coffee flavour on top. The matcha was a bit sweet and nice but nothing special. I heard both Vanilla and the Salty Coffee Cheese are favorites so try one when you are there! You can only take take-out and they are currently 20K pp.

You have to try this local sweet “donut” , they have different tastes , we tried the matcha and it was delicious.

  • 5/5 Aisle-n F. 3 years ago on Google
Their chocolate-filled coffee buns are the best I've ever tasted, especially when they're still fresh from the oven. They're soft, smell really delicious and reasonably priced, too. Their location is just near the lake, so it's quite convenient.

Crispy, soft, warm, buttery center and delicious every bite. I tried it on a whim bc I love bakeries and stumbled upon it. It was so good, my group and I went back three times today. The second time to try the other flavors. The third time bc we couldn't leave Hanoi with bout going back 😆. Matcha and salty cheese coffee were my fave.

Delicious and cheap breakfast pick-me-up before starting on the days itinerary. I'd still much rather grab a banh mi, but this is a delightful change.

The Matcha Roti tastes like heaven. I was walking by this morning and thought I would stop and try one. One of the best decisions I have ever made. This is a must stop when visiting Hanoi. I look forward to eating more.

It’s delicious but the filling is quite little and not as flavourful. If you have tried rotiboy in Malaysia before, safe to say that you can skip this! If you have not tried it before, definitely recommend you to try it at least once! Vanilla and salted cheese were very similar in taste. Suggest you get something different if you’re getting 2

  • 3/5 David S. 1 year ago on Google
Confused why this was rated so high. I stopped for a snack due to the good reviews, and it was very so-so. Not bad, but nothing special for sure. Probably worth a try if you never had RotiBoy in Malaysia or elsewhere, but don't expect anything amazing.

  • 4/5 Paolo Delos R. 11 months ago on Google
The buns were freshly baked and warm. We got one chocolate-filled and one vanilla-filled one. It took a few bites to eat through the outer crust to get to the filling. The chocolate was really good, while the vanilla one didn’t taste much of vanilla. Would get the chocolate one again for sure.

  • 5/5 Fabien A. 1 year ago on Google
Everything has already been said. Get a crispy and delicious bun in less than 1 minute and enjoy. We've tried vanilla and chocolate... Several times. Delicious.

  • 5/5 Julius L. 1 year ago on Google
Absolute. Must. Visit. Expect stuffed clouds, with crispy tops. Fluffy and full of flavour - after having one (the salty cheese flavor, in case you were wondering) I had to come back for more the same day. At 20,000 VND they won’t break the bank, either.

  • 2/5 Yap Seng A. 1 year ago on Google
Don't believe the hype, people here obviously haven't tried rotiboy. This is clearly a copycat but is nowhere as good. This bun is supposed to be a little hollow on the inside with a gooey buttery filling, but kingroti's bun has none of that. Instead they put chocolate and salted egg but these fillings are neither substantial nor tasty. Give it a miss.

  • 5/5 Vivek M. 1 year ago on Google
One of the best chocolate bun i have ever ate. It's so soft and the chocolate inside is so good.

  • 5/5 Germaine C. 1 year ago on Google
I grew up eating these, but haven't had one in years since I moved away. So while I do agree with the other reviews that it's not anything great if you have easy access to Rotiboy or Roti Mama, it's definitely worth a try if you've not had it before or miss the taste. Plus it's just 20k per bun! Really can't recommend this enough, me and my partner visited almost daily when we were in Hanoi 😂

  • 3/5 Yingying 1 year ago on Google
King roti - Smells really good but i think the bread can be improved to be softer. It was quite flaky when we had it. Price is decent around 20K VND and staff is friendly.

Love it. First time trying banh roti and tried the matcha and salty cheese. Both delicious and fresh. Just a stall though, so expect to grab and go.

  • 5/5 Christine M. 1 year ago on Google
Yummy doughnut style dessert. Went back for seconds and thirds across our stay to try each flavour. Cheese roti was my personal fav. If there is a line don’t worry it will move quickly!

👍👍 It's such a great and wonderful Pizza 🍕 😋 I ever have. I can't explain how wonderful it is. Also Spaghetti 🍝 😋 was so good. They cooked 80% for the spaghetti. For half chicken teriyaki and half 4 cheeses, is such a very good smell from the charcoal stove. It's very harmonized tasted in one full...

👍👍 Probably one of our most memorable meals was at this amazing restaurant in Hanoi. The service was excellent and so was the food. We loved the flavours and the cocktails were on point. The minimalist decor was really nice and spacious. We ended up ordering a lot of food and drinks as we were famished...
