Excellent dining experience in the heart of the Old Quarter. We had delicious Vietnamese barbecue grilled table-side, crisp fried chicken wings and squid, and the unforgettable Vietnamese lemongrass pork spring rolls, topped off with cool draft beer. All the meat is locally sourced. Wonderful, dedicated service by Mr Duan and his staff. Mr Duan took the time to explain where the food comes from and the Vietnamese traditions. The 4.9 rating (at time of writing) isn't too good to be true. The restaurant is neat, clean and cool. Prices are extremely reasonable. As a Singaporean who is serious about my food - skip all the other establishments on Beer Street and come straight here!

Lovely restaurant. Great ambience. Very nice staff with precise timing on meal prep times etc. The food was great and beautifully presented. I had the fried chicken thigh with salad, five spice sauce and a cinnamon cone. Beautiful dish. Never had anything like that before beautifully presented and flavours beautifully balanced. We were treated to a started plate of fresh spring roll and complementary dessert which was really refreshing. Affordable and great value for money. Highly recommend it.

It’s at the crowded place but away from the center of street. The atmosphere in the restaurant is so cozy and comfortable. I went there alone. I could still feel fitting in the restaurant. Those waiters can speak fluent English. And they could explain the dishes well. The service here is awesome. The food is also great. Definitely a whole set of the meal. Great experience here.

We had a wonderful dinner here on Saturday night. The restaurant recently changed its menu and now offers an amazing Vietnamese BBQ at very reasonable prices. Definitely go with the owners recommendation: the BBQ, mango salad and fried chicken. Delicious! The owner also went out of his way to explain us the basics of the Vietnamese BBQ, making it even more memorable and tasty. Honestly one of the better dinners we had in Vietnam.

Would give 10 stars if I could. The lady boss is friendly and the food is out of this world. 770k dong for four and we left super satisfied and happy. Will definitely be back. (Edit) came back for a second time, to try the hotpot, and it was great as well!! Thank you for the great food ☺️

Our go-to restaurant when we were in Hanoi! Everything from the menu was great tasting. The service is always good.

We searched for nearby restaurants & decided to give this Vietnamese fusion restaurant a try. The place is not big but is spread over two stories. Interior decor is western colonial. The menu was quite extensive and comprises largely Vietnamese fusion and BBQ seems to be a popular choice. As there were not much people when we visited, service was prompt & food was served quickly. We were impressed with the food quality & taste. I like the fried rice with pork in fish sauce - the texture of the rice was both fragrant & crunchy & Vietnamese spring rolls which was so crispy and flavorful. Prices are certainly on the higher side even by tourists standards but then food quality is good. If we ever come back to Hanoi, this restaurant will be on our list again for sure.

Nice Vietnamese BBQ place. Food was good and service was fantastic; staff helped with the BBQ and changed the aluminium foil regularly. However, the food was too greasy and felt too much at the end of the meal.

We had the bbq mix and it was good. A wide variety on the menu and our meal was tasty. In the centre of the city so easy to get to. Worth a visit!

Very friendly and sweet staff. I am vegetarian and I could enjoy and eat a lot, they brought me many options of vegetables, fried rice and asides, all very good. I am happy I could have the experience of the Vietnamese barbecue. Also my boyfriend enjoyed the meat options and making spring rolls. Thank you very much!

We were on recommendation in this restaurant and were not disappointed. It stands out from all others in this area. It is very quiet and you eat very relaxed. There is traditional Vietnamese cuisine as well as classic Western cuisine at a high level. The service is very friendly and helpful in explaining to tourists how to eat the vietnamese food best. In addition to wine and beer, there are also cocktails. We will be back.

Great dining experience + great food. The bbq grilled meat & veggies that you cook at your table was delicious - well seasoned and flavorful. We also ordered the fried squid which was perfectly crispy on the outside and the squid itself was very fresh and meaty. Prices fairly reasonable given the more upscale dining experience.

Era was the FIRST restaurant my boyfriend and I went to on our trip to Hanoi. I had suggested this place to him as the reviews were convincing. The service staff was polite and welcoming and while the dishes took a while to be prepared, the food was chef’s kiss. Honourable mention to the squid we tried, it was the BEST. Also, the portions are huge so would definitely suggest you share.

They overcharged us for 15% without informing us. The prices are really high for Vietnam and they give different menus to locals. Food is good but I don’t understand the 5*. Tourist trap.

Fantastic little restaurant. We had the spring rolls (I think they were freshly rolled when we ordered - they were so big and juicy and flavorsome. We tried many spring rolls during our time in Vietnam and these were by far the best. They were very generous with the vinaigrette dip too); bread with honey and butter (bread was fresh and lightly toasted and it had just the right amount of butter and honey); and the chicken with cashew which was fresh and delicious. Place was clean and well maintained and service was good. Would highly recommend this place.

For those who want something vegetarian (or are just generally vegetable-forward) and absolutely delicious, might I suggest the fried mushrooms, tofu and eggplant with salt? It isn’t too salty, full of flavour, soft and delicious. I would like to see if I can order a side dish of the fried components to eat several platters of it! Green mango salad was flavoursome, and the duck with basil had a delicious basil flavour and the most tender duck strips I have had so far in Vietnam!

The fried spring rolls were great. Prefer the fried ones over the fresh ones. I like their Bun Cha too. The staff help to bbq the meat too. Overall is a great dining experience.

They serve it differently with the oil and margarine. Also, the jelly coal was so cool 😂 I was really craving for meat and their Vietnamese bbq did not disappoint! It was so good especially their special sauce. Their good for 2 was also huge!

An awesome dining experience. Every dish is nicely presented and delicious. All the servers, especially Dale snd Lisa, are very friendly. I stayed at Hanoi for 5 days and it was the BEST meal in this trip.

In first place there was visible mold on the walls of the restaurant. Even considering this, we decided to stay (but sitting outside far from the mold). The food was okay, the Bun Cha was really nice but the Chien Mam was not tasty at all. This place is definitely overrated.

Great restaurant to try Vietnamese barbeque with foil! Highly recommend the barbeque set - good portions and nice chance to try popular Vietnamese meat cuts. The restaurant also has AC and fans which makes it a more enjoyable eating experience.

Fried rice is too sweet for our liking. The chicken leg was not thoroughly cooked but crispy on the outside. When going inside, be ready for strong BBQ smell from margarine on foil. Staff were kind to help us park our motorbike.

Food is really delicious. We ordered the vietnamese barbecue and the good for 2 had a huge serving and it was really good with their own specialty sauce. The rice was fragrant as well. The spring rolls are one of the best we had here in Hanoi.

There were so many restaurants around Hanoi old quarter and I'm so glad I chose ERA! It was my first time trying Bun cha and Dale was very patient in teaching me how I should go about eating it (: The meal even came with an appetizer and dessert. I feel that what stands out most was the service provided by the staff, especially Dale! Highly recommended if you're around this area 🙂

Their BBQ is basically aluminium foil placed on top of a pan. Place a generous amount of margarine and put Ur choice of meat. The 2 sauces given to compliment this dish made it nicer. The mix mushroom soup was alright. Looks like tomyum but doesn't taste like one and it isn't spicy. Can be better if served hot.

I really enjoyed ERA. I almost skipped this place because I couldn’t find a menu online or in the reviews (I’ve attached the whole thing). Meals range from 100-300k— which is higher than some places in the area but the value is definitely there. Everything we had, especially the pumpkin soup was outstanding. The service is extremely good as well. Everyone speaks good English and our food came out promptly. I highly recommend this place and plan on returning.

Very very good service here. Friendly smile and professional. The restaurant is clean and hidden in this busy street. The ambient inside is very beautifully decorated. We ordered the deep friend spring rolls and seafood dishes. I forgot the name of the dish we ordered, but it’s very traditional Vietnamese dish, made up of dried noodle, meat, herbs and sausage. The waitress helped to show us how to eat it and it was very authentic. We would definitely come back again.

We chose the bbq beef and pork plate for 2 and it was absolutely delicious, great quality meat, fresh and generous serving of veggies. We were able to speak with the owner of the restaurant Duan, and he was very nice, and welcoming. He wakes up everyday at 5am to get the best vegetables and cuts of meat at the local market every morning and it shows. Wonderful dining experience where you get to cook your own food exactly to your liking, so glad that we found this place. Definitely recommend! Nice little mom and pop stop.

The Old Quarter of Hanoi has many local restaurants but few of them are as good as Era Restaurant. It's popular with tourists and locals alike, and offers an interesting local menu. You can choose from a range of well presented and flavoursome classic Vietnamese dishes or, for something quite different, opt for one of the cook yourself tabletop grill options (which we did on our first visit). The staff are very caring and professional, while the restaurant itself is clean and modern. As a tourist, I felt welcomed and well looked after. I can highly recommend Era Restaurant and would like to thank the management and staff for our two lovely visits during our recent stay in Hanoi.

Friendly service, generous portions, and flavourful dishes. The restaurant owner, Mr Duan, kindly explained the dishes and their origins — this made the dining experience more memorable. We left with satisfied bellies and can’t wait to be back!

It is difficult to find a place that draws a balance between street food but restaurant vibe with good service. The chief staff speaks English, he customised the food based on meat that I eat. He came up with recommendations for us to order. It is slightly away from beer street hustle bustle but yet not too far. I loved the food, so authentic and tasty! I visited quite a few higher priced restaurants but I think this place was so reasonable with great service and food. Service - 10/10 Taste - 10/10 Price Point - 10/10 Ambience - 9/10

Excellent food and great service. The owner is very friendly and proud of his food. Glad that we made the choice to come straight here. Do visit! It will be worth your while! Highlights are the BBQ, lemongrass chicken skewers, and beef wrapped in lalot leaves.

Fantastic place. The food is awesome and the atmosphere is definitely top-notch. Super friendly boss and staffs where you'll never regret visiting multiple times. It's a MUST place to visit when you're in Hanoi.

Everything was delicious. The prices are good and the service excellent. Egg coffee is really good and creamy. We just kept going back there as it was close and had an extensive menu. Highly recommend.

Duan the owner is running an excellent business. All the food is bought in the morning so you have the freshest ingredients. The meat is all premium quality and I would highly recommend eating here. A++

Great place for bbq food on our first night! staff were very attentive, regularly change the aluminium foil for us. Their meat were really well marinated! Fried dishes (chicken wings, frog and squid) were really awesome as well. 910k dong for 3 pax, think we over ordered but our stomach were full. Hope to be back again :)

Started out what we thought might be a quiet dinner as we were directed upstairs. We had the whole room to ourselves until a family of about 25 came and joined us. The noise level increased but added to the atmosphere. The family was apologetic for their noise, but we really didn't mind. Food was good and we all got what we asked for except for one drink that had some ingredients missings, but it was quickly rectified. The service was surprisingly fast given how busy they were. Only issue with the service was that we had asked for separate bills, but that didn't happen due to language barrier. Highly recommend

Delightful. Food were nice and services were generally good. I like the fried squid which is surprisingly sweet (not salty). If you visit this place, you will be surrounded by foreign visitors and some locals too. Good place.

Amazing amazing amazing! Service, friendly staff and of course the food is fantaboulous!!! So good and fast and well prepared! Well priced too. Most dishes 125-250 each. Didn’t manage to try everything so will be back again!! Oh for the stupid people who left 3 or less stairs and complaining... get a life..

Found this place on Google map, and made reservation for dinner. The staffs were incredibly welcoming, and attentive to our needs throughout the meal. I was surprised by how affordable the prices were for the delicious meals we enjoyed. It was about SGD$60+ for our meal. The menu had great variety to choose from (chicken with mam sauce was my favorite), do try out their egg coffee too! Definitely a must visit spot for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Note: Restaurant gets crowded from 6:30pm onwards, would suggest to make reservation (via Google chat) if you prefer to be seated indoors.

We Walked back an hour to this part of the city especially to try this BBQ place and it was definitely worth it. The green mango salad is to die for (we actually ordered a second one because it was just so delicious). The service is also very kind although we had to wait a bit to get some of our orders - but as it was full we understand they were very busy. Give it a try!
