Stayed here for New Years. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we greatly enjoyed walking around the campus. Unfortunately, we picked this place based on our mistaken belief that it was geared toward accommodating international travelers, was of stellar quality/cleanliness, and offered amazing food options. The room we stayed in smelled of mold and had newish looking stains on the walls. The carpet had stains of various ages/shapes/colors. The bed and shower seemed fine though, and we were only staying two nights, so we didn't complain or ask for a new room. Tried all of their onsite dining options. They were very hit or miss (in terms of both service and tastiness). Don't bother with their buffet or jazz club. Between me and my friend, we speak and understand four languages. Unfortunately, none of them seemed to be understood well by the staff, least of all English. So it was very difficult to communicate with the staff for basic things. Tipping of all things became a huge problem. Even though every receipt I was given had an option for tipping, actually trying to leave a tip led to very long and awkward conversations that were frustrating. (I understand there are cultural differences around tipping, and the language barrier didn't help. But don't give me the option to tip, then inconvenience me for taking that option. Especially in the age of credit cards and automated payment systems, which should eliminate any need for discussion in the first place. And again...if there is any issue or confusion around tipping why is it an option on the bill???) Some of their in-house restaurants sell cocktails/hard liquor, some only beer and wine. At checkout, they had miscalculated our bill and that became a whole back and forth. Still don't know if I was overcharged, but I don't care enough to waste more of my time trying to figure it out with them. Would not recommend this place to anyone, but especially not to folks who are English (only) speakers. And while we definitely stayed in far worse places while we were in Vietnam, none of them were internationally recognized 5 star hotels! So this is the only bad place we're leaving a review for.

Guaranteed bad night sleep. 😖 This hotel has serious humidity problems. One can feel the intense moldy smell in the rooms. I was with a group of 7 people staying in different floors and they also complained about the humidity problems. Not worth it at all for the high rate that they are charging. ‼️Definitely not staying here again!

An excellent hotel located right in the city Centre, lives up to the standards of the JW Marriott name. Wonderful rooms with stunning views. Has an excellent gym and swimming pool, and the breakfast served at JW cafe is excellent. They have a very wide spread of dishes for breakfast and they also have different dishes from different parts of the world. They also have an executive lounge for people to conduct their business meetings while having a sip of coffee. The staff are also very caring and helpful. Special thanks to michael, our driver who took us to the airport on time. And also if you are staying here you should definitely take a stroll through the LAKESIDE GARDENS, a very beautiful place located within the hotel compound.WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Great experiences including very professional and friendly, well-trained staff at the Front Desk, Ms Casey and Tam. The atmosphere in this restaurant is quite pleasant and relaxed. Whenever there is a chance to enjoy here, it is a good experience.

A decent hotel with acceptable prices. Lounge is cozy and provides good quality food. The hospitality is amazing. The scene and view were both fine. Also went to the spa and sauna, decent, but not extraordinary. Overall, a hotel deserves a good recommendation.

One of the best hotels I have ever experienced. The service was second to none, the staff is incredibly helpful and kind. The rooms were roomy, clean and modern. Daily room service came with unlimited bottled water and fresh flowers. The on-site restaurants are a must if you don't go to the Old Quarter. I honestly cannot say enough good about this this hotel!

The Hotel is strategically located! The rooms are well equipped! Staying here is like starting in a resort right in the middle of the city ! The rooms overlook a lake and a lush green garden! You wake up to a mesmerizing view! The hotel has many f&b options the all day dining also has a wide variety of offering! The breakfast spread is also pretty good! The team is warm and welcoming! A good option to stay at Hanoi!

Nice hotel although it's on expensive side. Good recognition for Platinum elite member. Upgraded to suite room. Read many reviews sayings it's dated. But it looks new to me so not a problem at all. But the deco and style is not new or modern as it was built many years ago. Outside the hotel there's a lake and its really peaceful to take a stroll there. Bathroom amenities is nice, staff are friendly and mostly could speak English. Concierge is helpful and assisted me to order from a local restaurant that requires a local Vietnam number. Recommended to stay here.

The service at the location had been exceptional! We didn’t want to leave. Realistically could have spent our entire time in the room since the beds were so comfortable. Our room had a water view and was bright even on a gloomy day. I was a bit under the weather and the staff were so gracious at every turn offering hot teas to help remedy my condition. I’ve stayed at many hotels and the JW in Hanoi hands down had the BEST customer service! Thanks for the hospitality.

JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi may not be the first choice for tourists due to its location, slightly outside the tourist centre. But this should not deter anyone to stay at this beautiful and luxurious property. 1. Location- the hotel is located by a lake and verdant gardens. One can get around Hanoi very easily with Grab taxis. We certainly did not mind the location at all. It was nice to come back to the peaceful and modern views after a day in the bustling city. 2. Service- This hotel has outshone every other JW Marriott property around the world. The service is top notch. Not can you only find one fault, the staff is very friendly and the personalised service is excellent. Most staff remember your name and always address you personally. Excellent service. I cannot state that enough. 3. Rooms- The rooms are well appointed and very large. The modern rooms are very clean and comfortable. The views of the lake or the city are both excellent. 4. Wellness on 8th- The hotel has dedicated it's top floor to a large spa and health club and swimming pool. All of these are excellent. And some of the best facilities we have come accross at any Marriott owned property. A real sanctuary. JW Marriott will be our first and only choice for our return to Hanoi. And it should certainly be high on every visitor s list. Kudos to the team for an excellent job.

Excellent location, beautiful grounds and well appointed rooms. The lounge is very large and the food and drink options above par. There’s even a punching bag in the gym !

A truly luxury 5 star experience. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, offering help and recommendations every step of the way throughout our stay. The concierge service is useful and always seem happy to assist with anything. The rooms are very beautiful, clean and well designed. Room cleaning is offered every morning and night so you'll always have a clean and tidy room with all the amenities fulled stocked. The room is equipped with virtually everything you could possibly need. The pool is very big and quiet, while the lake and garden offer a great place for an easy relaxing walk. My family and I visited for my birthday and we were greeted with some delicious cupcakes and a welcoming card. Honestly one of best experience anyone could ask for. Would definitely revisit in the future and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a premium relaxing stay in Hanoi.

Fantastic hotel with impeccable service. The staff are so attentive and hospitable. The facilities are spot on. This is one of the largest hotels in Hanoi and is at a decent location to get around the city easily in taxis, which are fairly priced for foreigners. We stayed on 2 occasions, 1 city view and 1 lake view. Being an elite gold member, we got upgraded to executive suites, which were first class. Will definitely use this hotel again on a return to Hanoi.

My room smelled a little musky if the AC wasn’t on. It’s kind of far from most things you do in the city. Everything else about this hotel was absolutely perfect. This is what you look for in a non resort premier hotel. If I ever find myself in Hanoi again this will be a repeat.

Fantastic buffet breakfast at JW cafe! We are leaving today and had to make a final comment about the fantastic team in the breakfast cafe. All team members are clearly highly trained to give excellent service and a great variety of food in the buffet. We order almond milk, decaf cappuccinos, and each morning the staff person has to go to another area to get the milk but never has it been a problem. Instead the rest of the team are told and they know my drink the minute I arrive. We looked forward to the teams smiles and professionalism every morning . A credit to everyone in this area. As a couple who stay 5 star hotels 5 months per year with travel, highly recommend. Leaving today was like saying goodbye to family. Thankyou to JWCafe team for making every morning a great one :) you will be missed

marvelous!! I stay at Marriott for more than 70nights a year, including overseas, and I think JW is one of the best hotels among them. The building is spacious and splendid, and the variety of food menus is very enjoyable. The facilities such as the gym, spa, lounge, and pool are also excellent and substantial, so you will never get bored just by staying at the hotel. As expected of Marriott, I think that it is indeed JW. It's not just about hardware, but the kindness and hospitality of the staff. !

Exceptional service here. Stayed for 3 nights this week and greeted by the very outstanding team at the reception. The lobby lounge also provided great service for my daily morning coffee.

A very friendly, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere that you feel right form the moment of arrival. The rooms are large and have a good layout. What is missing is a USB socket though, so don't forget to bring your USB plug adapter as also at reception there isn't a chance to borrow one, but they offered me to go out to buy one for me. Looking at the breakfast buffet, there is all you are looking for. Bread, Pho, omelet, pastry, freshly pressed juices and some not freshly pressed, fresh fruits like Passion fruit, watermelon and more. The breakfast room is just next to the lake and offers a nice view from the inside. They offers enough space and machines with view at the lake. Nice! There is also an indoor pool which is a nice one. Long for proper swimming and with some seating around.

Very upscale hotel in Hanoi. Mind blowing views, well mannered employees and having wide open spaces. Came here for IATA safety conference. Would like to mention few points: 1. Varieties of food were there but taste could have been better. 2. I was looking for Vietnams food but very few was local dish. 3. Temperature control in most of the area was not comfortable. Bit hot

I believe, it’s no 1 hotel in Vietnam… Exceptional stuff, they notice everything and make your stay memorable. Beautiful property and spacious 1 Bedroom Executive Suite. Excellent Breakfast and Executive Lounge. I had accident in Hanoi, where i was able to move only in wheelchair. Hotel stuff helped me a lot, even at the evening at the hospital. My special thanks goes to Quynh who took care all assistance there. Also I wanna thank Tram Le (Paris) and Mark Van Der Wield for all the help they provided. In my next visit to Hanoi I will definitely stay there again. My favourite place in Hanoi.

One of the top business hotel in Hanoi. Understand that it is designed based a dragon in mind. I was put in a mini suite at the dragon tail of which I have to walk across 50++ rooms to reach mine. The room was very nice though but I have to make sure I don't forget anything when I go out of my room.

I am staying at this hotel for 3 nights and trying to exchange some cash at the counter. Originally they told me I can exchange my usd, then they told me none of my usd notes are in good condition ( they told me any usd bills folding is not in good condition). And they cannot charge to my room to get me cash, which is the common mehtod to get cash in Southeast Asian countries, this is the first time a five star hotel is so incapable in solving problems. I'm very disappointed at the hotel and had a bad experience here. The room also has a weird odor.

JW Marriott Hanoi: A Luxurious Oasis I recently had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott Hanoi, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. General Manager Mark Van Der Wielen's commitment to his guests is evident in every detail, and his cultural sensitivity creates a truly welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views from the room were breathtaking. The breakfast buffet was simply outstanding. With a wide variety of delicious and fresh options, it was the perfect way to start each day. I especially enjoyed the local Vietnamese dishes, which offered a taste of authentic Hanoi cuisine. The indoor pool is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring the city. The temperature is perfect for an extended swim, and the pool area is clean and well-maintained. I also had the opportunity to experience the spa, and I was thoroughly impressed. The staff is professional and attentive, and the treatments are both luxurious and effective. My facial was one of the best I have ever had, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated. What truly sets the JW Marriott Hanoi apart is the exceptional service. Every member of the staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, is genuinely friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your stay is enjoyable. They are a true credit to the hotel and the Marriott brand. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, the JW Marriott Hanoi is the perfect choice. It offers a luxurious and relaxing experience in the heart of Hanoi. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in the Vietnamese capital. Lastly hotel is working hard to optimise its carbon footprint. Great to see JW is working towards Marriott sustainability goals. That’s another reason to choose JW Hanoi for your stay. Special thanks to Mark Van Der Wielen and his entire team for making our stay special.

Service and amenities are impeccable. G Food is good. They have a beautiful garden with spectacular view of the hotel and the lake. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and the city skyline. There are also very good restaurants and eateries across the hotel if guests want authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

Absolutely incredible. I was offered a discounted suite upgrade by Ms. Hoa. She was amazing in helping me with every aspect of my stay before arriving. She even scheduled all of the spa services I needed. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone. It was so luxurious, the spa, executive lounge & restaurants on site exceeded my expectations. The suite itself was amazing. Beautiful view, bathtub, heated toilet seat, I never wanted to leave the hotel to see the rest of Vietnam!

A tremendous Sunday brunch. All in perfect quality and rich choice. It comes at a price, but quality is perfect. WE only would prefer staff with better English skills. An a western supervisor should sup not play with his mobile in public.

This is an amazing hotel with amazing service. This might be the best value for a hotel in the world. The only issue for me was, that it is a bit out of town. However they offer a car service a couple times a day to take you into the sites. Another issue for me was the hotel car broke down on the way into the city. They called a cab for me but it was a far cry from the service that was expected from a JW.

The service was wonderful, in particular the executive lounge on the 6th floor. I have to applaud Nam in particular, he made our family feel truly at home. He was always ready to help with anything we needed and made our stay feel special. Thank you so much for your kindness and attention!

New staff is still learning so you have to prod a bit. Seems like they did not understand my max status with mariott but eventually they called the right senior person. I wish I had booked this hotel for the rest of stay in Hà Nội as nothing compares to it in overall service. The spa is a serious business here and it’s well worth the money. If I ever return to the city I will be sure to only stay here.

JW Marriott Hanoi is my first choice when it comes to accommodation during business trips in the area of “Cau Giay”. The quality of service has been consistently phenomenal across several times that I’ve stayed there. Their concierge is top notch, their cleanliness is superb and their rooms are generously spacious. The costs of staying at this hotel are definitely towards the higher end but the peace of mind that they offer to business travellers is second to none!

I have stayed at over 400 hotels across various countries. Many of them 5 star rated. However, the JW MARRIOTT HANOI has the best quality, service and professionalism I have ever seen. All departments in this hotel are excellent and this hotel is best in class. I stayed for several months and the service was 7 star from start to finish. EXCELLENT HOTEL AND DYNAMIC STAFF.

Kind staff without precise information made me and my guest spent ridiculous time during x-mas holiday for the event. Need to improve their service. And i found critical dust when i was laying in bed. I knew it is hard to manage but hope to find the way to do it.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon. The staff was EXTREMELY hospitable. From the minute we arrived, each member of the staff went the extra mile to make sure we were having a great time. The breakfast buffet is one of the best that I’ve ever been to. So many options, but the pho was our favorite. The egg coffee was so smooth and rich, by far the best I had in town. The gardens were beautiful and we enjoyed an afternoon at the gazebo for afternoon tea. Lien was the garden bar manager and she absolutely went the extra mile. Lastly, the massages and the couples massage room was truly amazing. I have never heard so many pops (the good kind) in my back and neck. I am a titanium member at Marriott and can say that this is one of the top Marriotts that I have been to in the world!

A lovely property with superlative service. A bit expensive but worth the money. JW Marriott is one of the premium 5 star hotels in Ha Noi. Location: It's a bit far from city centre and tourist attractions so it may take 30 to 50 minutes to go to Main city attractions depending upon time of the day and traffic load. Check-in: It was super smooth. They offer you a welcome drink and staff literally carries your luggage and a person leads you to your room explaining all function/equipments in the room Reception: Quite beautiful reception. Entrance to property is itself quite impressive. Reception is at lobby level while function rooms and cafes are on Ground floor. There are a couple of fantastic restaurants at Lobby level. Strongly recommend to try Smack Dab with live Music. Restaurant deserves a separate review of its own. Ambience: It's a lovely property with direct access to a beautiful lake. You have the breakfast facing the lovely lake which is so soothing to eyes. There is a garden associated with lake too. Rooms: Pretty large with high ceiling and modern amenities. I liked their Bathroom separators and yes automated curtains are always good convenience. Room comes with tea/coffee, mini bar, multi adaptable sockets (don't carry an adaptor) and all standard kits. Rooms are cleaned multiple times I a day which is a very welcome gesture. Service: The moment you enter you feel like royalty. Extremely food and friendly service. 7 stars for service. Cost: Per night it costed ~270 sgd which is a bit expensive but given the facilities and services it's worth every single penny.

I ate weekend buffet here, about 2,4 million/person including alcohol. Lobster, foie gras, beef are all delicious, service is good but not good, do not know how to eat dishes and what to order, I find it expensive for the money

My recent stay at JW Marriott was nothing short of disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience to alert fellow travelers. First and foremost, the cleanliness standards at this renowned establishment fell far below expectations. Despite booking a three-night stay, my room was not cleaned once throughout the entire duration. This lack of attention to basic hygiene greatly affected my overall comfort and satisfaction. As a platinum member, I anticipated certain privileges, including access to the lounge. Regrettably, my expectations were shattered when I was denied entry without any clear explanation. This denial not only contradicted the benefits associated with my membership but also left me feeling undervalued as a guest. The pinnacle of my dissatisfaction occurred on the last night of my stay when, to my disbelief, my party and I were asked to vacate our room. The reason provided was even more astonishing – the hotel intended to sell the room at a higher rate to another guest. This decision, despite our month-old reservation at a lower price, left me appalled at the hotel's lack of integrity and respect for its guests. For a brand as esteemed as JW Marriott, such a disregard for basic hospitality principles is unacceptable. The failure to uphold cleanliness standards, denial of entitled privileges, and the shocking eviction on the last night marred what should have been a pleasant stay. In conclusion, I strongly caution potential guests to reconsider choosing JW Marriott for their accommodations. My experience has left me with a sour impression, and I believe there are better options available that prioritize customer satisfaction and uphold the standards expected from a luxury hotel.
