Fun vibe! Plan your Hanoi trip while visiting Vietnam to include a weekend. Crowded, cheap and tasty food. It does not matter if you drink or don’t drink, you must walk through the old quarter to experience what a weekend in the beer street looks like. Lots of people sitting on small stools enjoying drinks and company. You will see lot of tourists here as well. This is part of the Hanoi experience.

Love this place!! Bustling, bubbly, great food, great coffee you cannot ask for more. You can walk around and be lost in the alleys for hours; looking at ques in front of the local pho shops, sitting next to the busy streets having egg coffee or stopping a vendor to taste the rice donuts (don't as yet know what are they called). The transformation from the afternoon to the evening is simply dazzling. The brilliant architecture of few buildings comes to life with lights. The lakeside transforms itself from a hazy, humid, hot afternoon to a cool place just to sit around (must try the ice-cream here).

Come here to see and be seen. The endless beer place, music, clubs and over crowded tourist fill the streets with strong sense of holiday fun. Sensory overloaded. It’s cheep beer ,loud music and young crowd makes it popular for both tourist and young locals.

Awesome place to walk around and enjoy sightseeing the area. Filled with locals and travelers, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, cafes and street food. A different vibe in the day and in the night. Definitely worth checking out

It was called beer street. I've been there several times but it was the first time I chose to sit at a table outside of the street with friends. The area is always crowded, full of young people and tourists. Music played so loud from the bars around. When you walk on the street, there are always some people trying to offer you a table on the street. I had no idea how people manage to sit inside the bars if music is so loud. After sitting there for an hour, it started to rain heavily. People ran and jammed in some small stores around while some owners screamed at their staff to bring the big umbrellas out. I stood inside one of those places and when they finished, all of the food got wet. It costed VND 410,000 for 7 bottles of beer, 1 fried potatoes, 1 chicken legs dish and some sour meat which was a quite good price. If you like loud music and crowded places, it's a recommended place for you while staying in Hanoi

You can see tourists from all over the world when you come here. Especially during the World Cup season, you can encounter many tourists even in the off-season. In particular, there is a night market nearby from Friday to Sunday, so you can enjoy a lot of things to see and do. A glass of beer on Ta Hien Beer Street and a night in Hanoi, doesn't it really go well together? This is one of the places you must visit every time you come to Hanoi. ^^*

It's the busiest and most happening place in Hanoi. Must visit place. We went to Beer street and enjoyed cool beers with vegetarian good. The street has many food joints and bars to choose from. The music and ambience of the whole Street was wonderful. We enjoyed a lot.

This street is commonly known as Hanoi Beer street and is set in the northern part of Old Quarter. It comes alive at night with dozens of cafes, night clubs, eateries, massage parlors, etc....much reminding on such in Pattaya or Phuket. Music is very loud, coming from every, tiny and small club one by another, so while walking you hear only unrecognizable mixed music noise. We just walked through without any desire to sit somewhere, even our teenage daughter didn't like it

The streets are very narrow and it can be overwhelming at first to get used to the incessant honking from all sorts of vehicles. Scooters are parked on the footpath so pedestrians walk on the road with vehicles whizzing by. The architecture is nice and there's plenty of places to eat and drink. Close to most major attractions. Lots of backpackers in this area. Plenty of hotels and hostels.

Popularly known as the Beer street, it's a good place to come for some street food and have beer while chilling. The food portion gets over around 11 pm and all close by 12. The beer part starts getting lively after midnight and goes on till 4 am. There was one place which has a balcony where you can sit and watch the ongoings on the street. Nice place for ppl like me. We also went to a bar and dance place. Unfortunately we had to come out after a drink, without having danced at all because the place was filled with hookers and gigolos. I saw some weed being sold discreetly too.

The beer Street of Hanoi, here is $30,000 while you can get it for 20,000 outside. The steamboat and barbecue here decent price but there are so many shops that you might have a problem choosing. While walking through the street you’ll be asked and pulled by the shop owners to go in and eat. Try to look for the one that appears to you the best. We ate at the one at the corner and it was not bad.

Great street for nightlife in Hanoi, although it is a bit tourist-heavy. Tons of bars and clubs packed into one small street, great for bar-hopping. Recommend starting with a drink at one of the tiny plastic tables + chairs outside and just watching the madness on the street for a bit. Around midnight, the action moves indoors (and if you’re seated outside drinking, you might be asked to quickly move inside for a moment if a police car passes by). At that point, you can easily start bar-hopping and checking out multiple different places to find one with a good vibe.

If you're looking to buy clothes, electronics or souvenirs, the Old Quarter Corner is the place that has all of these and more. We walked there and it was such a crazy atmosphere, you will hear beeping everywhere and be aware of your surroundings because the scooters pass very fast in the smallest places! It is beautiful to see the Vietnamese coffee shops, full of tourists and locals sitting by the sidewalk having coffee or food.

Ta Hien Beer Street - Hanoi The famous Beer Street just looks like any other street in the Old Quarter in the morning, but it actually transforms at night into the city's favorite nightlife hub. Swipe to see the difference! Given we were staying bang at the beginning of the street (highly recommend to stay nearby in the OQ), we'd end our day chilling here/grabbing a nightcap. 😉 As the name suggests, it's lined with bars & restaurants serving fresh beer and food, with different music genres blaring from their speakers. The hubbub of people, the loud music, the tiny bar stools all add up to an unmissable vibe. ❤️🪩 Follow @voyage2forage on Insta for more such information and reviews. :)

Authentic district in the heart of Hanoi. Lots of small streets, shops, cafes and street food markets. Some streets are packed with tourists so I would not recommend going there. We enjoyed the day by exploring narrow streets and we ended up eating a very tasty pho dish from a local street food store.

This felt more like Times Square in pre-pandemic New York City than a place to get a beer or a meal. In other words, a perfect place to see a packed crowd of people from around the world. A fun, energetic spot and well worth visiting.

Beer street is a cool place to check out. You need to go at least a couple of times because the vibes are different depending on the police out that night. One night it can be packed with people and lively, another there could be a truck sitting in the middle and it's dead.

There many good restaurants and bars on the "beer" street. The street has a unique atmosphere and is worth visiting. Unless you visit it you don't know night life in Hanoi. There are less people from Sunday till Thursday. It is better to visit it on Friday or Saturday.

A place filled with tourists enjoying drinks and foods. Nice to walk around and feel the place pulsating with energy. Though it can be too crowded and uncomfortable in a humid hot weather.Fresh sugarcane juice extracted here was refreshing. The busiest part of Hanoi in the old quarter is a must see for all. Taking a rickshaw ride is an inexpensive way to explore this area.

A busy cross junction that caters to the alcohol drinkers. Whole street of pubs with tables jam packed the alleys. No point coming if you are not into beers.

The busiest area in Hanoi city I think. You can see a lot of tourists here. Sometimes Foreigners are more than the locals. You can see a lot of different kind of cafes and restaurants but quality is a bit low. Also you can find a lot of hotels and hotels, cheap hotels are in a bad condition. I don't prefer to stay in old quarter. Old quarter is good place for shopping and walking around.

Best base for backpackers. All main sights are within walking distance and it's full of hostels that have plenty of space if you need a place to crash. Prices are also very affordable. The french style in architecture creates a very special athmosphere.

Overwhelmingly busy and dynamic. If you are into people watching this is a great place. On weekends the roads are closed to cars so it is very chilled and relaxing to sit around the fountain.

At night much of this place is transformed into the beer street. One of the most vibrant street scenes I have seen in south eat asia. On weekends night , it’s packed to the brim. Everyone is just sitting along the side of the street having drinks and watching the world go by. Plenty of restaurants and stalls selling everything you need to eat as well. Just branch off in each direction you will probably hit a night market , many shops , street performances etc etc. indeed a very lively place to visit in Hanoi.

It's a nice relaxing place to get away from the busy streets of Hanoi. You will see people walking, taking pictures, working out (stretching) in the early morning. Or just taking a break and enjoying a coffee like I do.

Lively and vibrant "beer" street within the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Existed since the French colonial times (when it was name Rue Géraud). Referred to by the locals as Quang Lac (after the old theater in the area). It just has less "lights" now since the neon/lighted signs of major beer companies have been removed. PRO TIP : Some of the waiters would try to pull you into their shops. Don't mind this. They are just trying to do their jobs.

Beer street in Hanoi is extremely loud and full of Hustlers trying to get you into their bar. I walked through intending to find a place for a beer, but it was just too much and I ended up walking right through. If you like loud places blasting out music, then this is the place for you. There wasn't much differentiating one bar from another. Competition is fierce for your business. I got rather annoyed so ended up at a small local bar, where they served very cold Hanoi Beer for 25k VND. It was a much nicer place to sit and people watch and you could hear each other talk.

Cool, fun, and wild part of Hanoi. It can get very busy and it’s filled with hustlers trying to grab you to come into their establishment. It’s fun to come check it out and experience it at least once but not somewhere I would frequent every weekend. The crowd is a bit younger and has more tourists partying here. Pricing is fair compared to the nicer establishments elsewhere though.

It can be very chaotic on the weekend but it is a lot of fun and there are great places for beers and drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The vendors can be a bit pushy and it can be hard to move around but it was great.

Laut, dreckig, stickig, gutes Bier. Hanoi wie es leibt und lebt. Nicht zu vergleichen mit den echten Bia Hois in den anderen Quartieren, da es sehr tourisistisch ist, dennoch super Ort und was zu essen und trinken

A lovely walk down the busy ta hien Street, seeing cool young people enjoying their night away. Perfect time of the year to be there as the weather was 20 degrees celcius. Nice cool weather to enjoy the night away and a good banter with your mates. Definitely a must visit.

Our street was really fun it is very noisy very crowded between 8 PM and around 1130. Around 1130 most places are starting to shut down. It is very dirty but the food is awesome and I did see your girl throw up in the street. But it’s a fun place to party there are lots of Westerners here.

  • 4/5 udit g. 5 years ago on Google
A great place for shopping, dining and relaxing while indulging in local Vietnamese cuisine and culture. The streets can be very crowded and loud from all the honking but the real charm is the old architecture and the vendors selling a huge array of products ranging from coffee to souvenir to counterfeit bags and t-shirts to imitation jewelry to toys and a lot more. The park and the lake in the middle of the area provides a great place to take a break if you get tired of walking. Most of the vendors are gonna sell the products at a high price so trying to bargain would be a great idea. The streets are filled with hotels and tour providers so make sure to visit a few of them to get the best deal.

Post Covid Ta Hien walking street is back to normal and bustling. For those who just wants to experience some nightlife, drinking cheap beer and watching the hordes of people walking by. Hanoi has a way better nightlife experience than Saigon these days.(I have lived in Saigon for 5 years) What I like was drinking Bia Hoi at 10k (50cents a glass) and not getting scammed into going into a 5 dollar a beer place. Also not being pestered into buying lotto tickets like other tourist destinations. Highly recommend to visit at least one night while in Hanoi.

The most crowded place in the most crowded city in Vietnam. If you like parties, loud music, fun, etc. then this is the place for you. For me it wasn’t a great place at all.. food and beer is costlier around this area. Untidy. This place is totally overhyped on the internet 🫢

It was our first night in Vietnam. We checked in at the hotel, got a shower and hit the streets of Hanoi. It was a bit of a cultural shock at first but we quickly got used to it. The streets are packed with tourists and locals, all enjoying street food and beer (which is pretty cheap). We chose a place, were sat down and enjoyed the beer in the hectic enviroment, which was quite fun. Then the rain came. In about 5min it went from a few drops of rain to a full on shower, but the street vendors were prepared and set up umbrellas and immediately started giving out or selling rain coats. We were partially wet.. but who cares? Just enjoy the moment and have fun.. (doesn't hurt to be prepared with an umbrella or raincoat).

It's like an epicenter of the Hanoi Old quarter night life. It is fun for every class. Cheap street food and beer. To a good club everything is in near proximity. A bit crowded all the time because of tourists and local traffic. You can go shopping around , eat around and drink . Must try: local street vendors food. Beer at Pub street beer at Backpackers hostel rooftop pub.
