I went to Ba Dinh Square at 6AM to see the flag raising ceremony, and it touched my heart. I want to tell all of my compatriots that you should go to this place to see the good moment one time in your life, if you can arrange your time. The atmosphere around the square is very fresh. Be noted that you have to wear something that covers your knees and shoulders.

Its a nice historical place in Hanoi. Ba Dinh Square is the name of a square in Hanoi where president Ho Chi Minh read the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. It is named after the Ba Đình Uprising, an anti-French rebellion that occurred in Vietnam in 1886–1887 as part of the Cần Vương movement. When Ho Chi Minh died, the granite Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was built here to display his embalmed body. It remains a major site of tourism and pilgrimage. Ba Dinh Square is in the center of Ba Đình District, with several important buildings located around it, including the President's Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the National Assembly Building. Nowadays, Ba Dinh square is one of the few green and unoccupied areas of urban Hanoi. Many important events such as parades and commemoration of veterans take place at the square. Interestingly, despite its solemnity during the day, during the night time, the square is a popular gathering place for the local: families who want a walk, elderly who want to exercise and friends who want to hang out. A visit to Ba Dinh Square can be combined as a day or half-day trip to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum and One-pillar Pagoda.

Crazy-huge square and kind of a bizarre scenery with the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. There is the soldier change including decline of the flag every day at 9p.m. Recommended to already be there at 8:45p.m. The entrance on the square is free; only security check.

The square is really wide, walking is quite tiring, but looking at the mausoleum and then the parliament building, everything is completely tired. I regret not being able to watch the flag raising ceremony here.

it serves as the workplace of the Vietnamese President and is an impressive example of neo-classical architecture. The Vietnam National Assembly building, located to the north of the square, is the country's largest legislative body. Its striking modern design incorporates traditional Vietnamese architectural elements and features a large central dome.

(Translated by Google) Ba Dinh Square is the largest square in Vietnam, located on Hung Vuong Street, Ba Dinh District and is where Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum was built. This square is also the place to record many important marks in Vietnamese history, especially, on September 2, 1945, the President of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam, the Democratic Republic of Ho Chi Minh, read the The Declaration of Independence gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Today's Ba Dinh Square has a campus with a length of 320 m and a width of 100 m, with 210 fields of grass (7 vertical rows x 30 horizontal rows), which used to be 240 cells, but after cutting 1 horizontal row for building construction. The National Assembly, in the middle of the passage is 1.4 m wide. In the middle of the square is a 25 meter high flagpole. [1] This is the place where the parades take place on the occasion of major Vietnamese holidays, and is also a place to visit, play, and walk for visitors and people of Hanoi. Previously, this place was an area within the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. During Gia Long period, in 1808, Hoang Thanh was demolished to rebuild a much smaller new city to serve as a headquarters for Bac Thanh. The area of Ba Dinh Square today corresponds to the western gate of the new citadel, renamed Hanoi in 1831 by Minh Mang. This area now has a high hillock called Mount Khán, or Khán. Paint. In the middle of the nineteenth century, at the request of the main father of Hanoi Le Huu Thanh, General Governor Ha Ninh Hoang Thu together with a number of mandarins paid money to build a tiled house on Mount Khán, called the Khán Son communal house as a meeting place. literati. Therefore, there was a time where there was a period of regular cultural activities of Bac Ha's people. After controlling the whole Indochina, in 1894, the French forces demolished the entire citadel, leaving only the North gate as evidence. This area was planned by French architects to build the administrative center of Indochina Federation. Mount Khán was leveled. A small flower garden was built in this area, forming a large square named Puginier Flower Garden (Le parc Puginier). The flower garden is limited by the streets of Avenue de la République, [2] Avenue Brière de l'Isle [3] Rue Elie Groleau, [4] and Avenue Puginier. [5] A small rotation built nearby is also named the Puginier Wheel (Rond-point Puginier). Due to the special shape of the circle, the people of old Hanoi also called Puginier flower garden the Round Square. In the area near Round Square, the Governor-General was constructed in 1901. In 1914, the forte of Lycée Paul Bert was built at the position of Mount Khán before, next to the Puginier Flower Garden. In order to monopolize control of Indochina, on March 9, 1945, Japan couped France. In order to attract the support of the Vietnamese, the Japanese military declared its independence for Vietnam. A Vietnamese government backed by the Japanese army was established on July 20, 1945, by Tran Trong Kim as the Prime Minister representing the Vietnamese Empire. Doctor Tran Van Lai was appointed Director of Hanoi (Mayor). As an intellectual with a national spirit, right after accepting the position, he decided to change a series of street names from French into Vietnamese after the names of Vietnamese heroes such as: Garnier Street, Dinh City Tien Hoang, Boulevard Carnot, Phan Dinh Phung City ... The Pugininer Flower Garden in front of the Governor-General was renamed Ba Dinh Flower Garden to commemorate the Ba Dinh area in Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa, where the commencement took place. the anti-French meaning lasted from September 1886 to January 1887.
