Lang Pagoda, Hanoi, Vietnam 2022 Lang Pagoda has the typical architecture of Vietnamese pagodas with two long corridors connecting the first and the last compartments to form a rectangular frame surrounding an architectural work in the middle, which is usually the most important part of the pagoda like the worshiping chamber or incense burning place. The pagoda has a three archway with the main arch consisting of four columns with the architecture similar to the gate in the ancient royal palace. Getting through the gate is the courtyard paved with Bat Trang brick, leading to an octagonal house, the unique part of the pagoda. Located in the middle of the pagoda, the octagonal house is where the statue of monk Tu Dao Hanh is placed and worshiped. With a two-level roof, the house is also a sophisticated sculpture artwork, featuring four phoenixes dancing on the top and eight dragons flying around the roof representing eight reigns of the Ly dynasty. Inside the chamber, the wall features various paintings depicting different themes. Moreover, the pagoda is a large, harmonious and symmetrical architectural complex with 100 compartments in an airy green space of gardens and old big trees, creating a beautiful tranquil place blended with nature. Therefore, it was regarded as the pagoda with the most beautiful greenery in Thang Long. Today, it is one of the largest pagodas in inner Hanoi.

Rich in culture. Chùa Láng 2023 Festival was conducted (on March 7, Lunar calendar) following the traditional ritual, during which, the procession of Saint Tu Dao Hanh's palanquin must be carried across To Lich River.

The outermost pagoda gate consists of 4 square columns with three curved roofs that do not hang on the column but are attached to the column's ribs, the middle roof is higher than the roofs on the two sides. Through the gate is a courtyard paved with Bat Trang tiles, in the middle of the yard is a stone collapse, where palanquins are placed during festivals

The area around the pagoda previously named Lang village. The village is actually the combination of 3 smaller villages named Upper Lang, Central Lang and Lower Lang. There, a famous herb plant name “húng Láng” that contain a very nice and unique taste. If you bring the same seed from here then bring to other place to plant, the unique taste will disappear. Then, the taste will be something like menthol.

I think It's quite quiet, the atmosphere is fresh. Adults usually go jogging all day. In the afternoon there are many students coming here to study, adults playing badminton and so on... In conclusion, I suppose that Lang pagoda is a good destination.

A nice place to hang out. I usually visit here in the morning since the atmosphere is peaceful af. The pagoda itself is quite small, but again, it's rare to find a place with so many trees like this.

Good old ancient pagoda with almost nearly 1,000 years old. One of Thang Long town guard back to those days. Come to this pagoda, you can still feel its ancient air and so proud of one of our best relic ever

Emperor Lý Nhân Tông being unable to have a son, adopted the sons of his younger brother Sùng Hiền hầu. Nephew Lý Dương Hoán was born right after the death of monk Từ Đạo Hạnh, one of the most important figures of the Lý Dynasty, and therefore believed to be the monk's incarnation. Selected as the crown prince, he became Emperor Lý Thần Tông in 1127 on the death of his uncle Lý Nhân Tông. He then dies in 1138 and was succeeded by his oldest son Lý Anh Tông. It was Lý Anh Tông who had Láng Temple constructed, in order to venerate his father and his soul ancestor monk Từ Đạo Hạnh (also venerated at Thầy Temple).
