An incredible hotel, highly recommend when you visit Hanoi! First the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable with luxury details. The views of the sunset are incredible. The staff are great with warm hospitality, every interaction was enjoyable. It is great to have a quiet break after a busy day of touring or exploring the Old Quarter, so the location is excellent. The food was good, I really loved the restaurants. My one recommendation would be to add vegetarian options at the Vietnamese restaurant- it was a shame we couldn’t eat there. Other than that, appreciated how much everything was labeled and easy for allergies and restrictions. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

I could not recommend this place less. It’s overpriced for damp, smelly rooms that are not very clean. We arrived on the first day to be put in a room where fixtures were falling off the walls, it was damp with a horrible smells and the bedding even felt wet. They eventually moved us (as it started to impact my asthma) even though their initial response was “it’s humid at this time of year it’s just how it is”, the next room was marginally better but the air con doesn’t work and the rooms are very poor quality. Everything is expensive here too - it is the same price of hotels in Amsterdam and London (for example, €4 for a Diet Coke from the mini bar or €25 for breakfast) but the costs are not the same as in London and I doubt they pay the employees a London wage. It is just pure greed. The hotel is just not worth the money when you have many other hotels close with similar or lower prices that actually deserve a 5*. The pool is also small. We tried to voice our complaint on check out but it was met with defensiveness again. I would really avoid this hotel - look near the park in Old Quarter for many nicer hotels.

Great service from all staff. From the lobby entrance right up to the restaurant.International Breakfast Buffet was amazing. Wide selection of items to choose from. Bacon was soft but a little rubbery so it was hard to cut. But everything was great. Great variety of different kinds of milk, juices, cereals, breads and other popular breakfast items. Great way to start the day.

We flew into Hanoi, to make it an easy road trip to Ha Long Bay, so just stayed at this hotel for the evening. The check-in was quick and easy, even though we booked 9 rooms. The counter staff was really friendly and welcoming. Got to the rooms and I was given the huge and spacious suite. For the city, this was a really nice hotel situated in a great spot. Short drives to all the site seeing. The breakfast restaurant was really good as well.

Lovely stay at overwater room. The sunset over Sunset bar is worth checking out. There is an air purifier in the room which was really useful during the winter haze. The hotel is a quick Grab ride away from the Old Quarters (don't flag down taxis in Hanoi they will scam you).

This is a fantastic location for anyone who wants to be away from the hustle and bustle of the old quarters. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around the hotel along the lake so it’s a nice place to walk. Though the property seems a little old, the overall experience is great. The room (overwater lake view) is a good size and has a lovely view. The bathroom is big and the shower pressure is fantastic. The service staff and concierge are proactive, helpful and quick to attend to requests. The service standards are excellent.

This is suitable for relaxing, with family and elderly. Not suitable for night life as the surrounding area is quiet. Service is standard and good, the sunset bar is very good and nice to sit and chat with family. My trip is during lunar new year so hard to call grab, if normal time I hope it is easy to do so and solve the location problem ☺️

Exemplary service, comfortable room with wonderful view of the lake. Special thanks for the surprise birthday cake for my husband in our room - very thoughtful! Love the sunset bar, quality food and drinks and great service. Amazing breakfast buffet, very food option you could think of available, attentive staff. Thanks for a wonderful stay - only problem it was too short!

It's great to stay at a hotel in the city that has a resort feel. I chose a room with a lake view and it lived up to expectations. The room is impressively spacious. The hotel is only about 20 to 25 minutes from the airport and a 15-minute taxi ride from the Old Quarter. Breakfast is very diverse. All the staff were extremely friendly and provided excellent service.

I stayed here for a week during a business trip to Hanoi and I can’t imagine how the service has been degraded so much. The in-room internet is terrible I can’t even join a meeting online (how could they explain this given they are a business hotel), breakfast was awful, very poor with bottled juice. The room although is old but quite spacious and have a great lake view. (Actually the room is the nicest thing)

At checkout, there were a couple of issues with the final bill. Thankfully, the manager on duty at reception quickly and professionally remedied these issues and I checked out without issue. I would say this level of customer service is 5 star and I would highly recommend you stay here, I will be returning in the future. Also, if you wish to collect IHG points I further recommend you book with the hotel directly and not through a booking agent, I found out the hard way.

Wonderful experience at Intercontinental. Especially pleasing experience at Reception. BAO ANH really very kind, polite and understand exact customer requirements and take care appropriately. He is able to communicate very well. Also during breakfast I had very Great Soup. Customized for vegan and tasty also with added spices. Lady remembered my food taste and just say "SAME" she makes same tasty soup everyday. Overall pleasant hospitality at Intercontinental.

Excellent place for a quick retreat. The staffs were polite, the room was decent, the space was big enough for me to walk around at night and have some fresh air. The experience was quite unique since all the rooms are built above the lake. I got to sit and chill on the balcony while letting the water sound soothe my mind. Highly recommend this place.

Visited the Sunset Bar and the view was wonderful, drinks was out of this world, staffs were attentive and friendly. Restaurants also had amazing services and diverse food selection close to the culture of the country. I would highly recomend coming at about 4pm-7:30pm to enjoy a beautiful sunset while enjoy a lovely cocktail at the bar maybe grab a snack at that so to soak in all that glorious view.

Slumming it in the bungalows. The two rooms I received were old and needed an update. A/C did not cool the room lower than 23 degrees. The carpet in the room was dirty and tattered. Can't blame the hotel for the bugs on the patio. But there are bugs on the patio. Alot of bugs. So much so, I couldn't sit outside and enjoy the view. Stay in the main tower if you wish to stay at the west lake intercontinental.

This hotel was an oasis in the crazy hustle and bustle of Hanoi. Built overlooking the lake and the CBD of the city, the sunsets were amazing. Positive thoughts: 1. Breakfasts are amazing with a choice of Asian or Western. 2. Staff are super helpful and friendly 3. Location is superb 4. Good value fpr money Negative thoughts: 1.The entrance hall to the rooms could do with some work, it looks cheap and needs some paintwork. 2. Whilst this may not be the hotels fault, what is annoying is the habit of certain people leaving their towels on the sunbeds and going for breakfast. Not only rude but also the hotel should have a policy that prevents that.

Wonderful stay a city hotel with resort feel. About 20 to 25 minutes from the airport, 10 to 15 minutes to the Old Quarter via Grab. I have opt for the upgrade to the lake view. You may chose to walk to your unit or got the buggy to send you back. Wide range of breakfast available. All staff are super friendly and excellent service. Really enjoyed my stay and i shall return soon.

Stayed here 2 nights. Excellent service. Many perks of being member! Staffs are friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel, great location, near the airport, close to shopping malls. Breakfast buffet is various & delicious, better than expected. Come back again. Definitely recommend.

Chose a lake-view room, and it lived up to expectations. The room was impressively spacious, but a refresh is needed for the interior, particularly the worn and dirty carpet. Note that the hotel is a 15-minute taxi ride away from Old Quarter. Although the stay was enjoyable, I'm contemplating whether the price accurately mirrors its value.

The hospitality of the staff is incredible. Every one of them were helpful and very attentive. They gave me tips for the street food direction, taxis and neighborhood. Room was very clean and spacious. Definitely one of the best Intercontinental !;)

Pleasant stay with nice sunset view in Westlake which I love the most in Hanoi. The fresh air besides the lake is very fresh. Great to stay.

I am a frequent traveller. Among hundreds of hotels I have stayed, the Intercontinental West Lake Hanoi is the best. Amazing breakfast buffet, kind, caring and professional staff and beautiful scenery... The Hotel has also very humane and caring approach to its staff - no discrimination based on nationality, gender, ages and appearances. The Hotel hires and support people with disabilities. The compassionate and caring approach of the Hotel reflects local value, traditional value of Vietnam which I love and respect. Finally this is also the most beautiful place for the staff to work and for guest to stay. Thank you so much for everything - food, service, most comfortable bed and pillow and above all your kind care... I will never forget my stay here....

Better than I expected! The hotel is located near the lake, so it has a very nice view. I booked a birthday party here and everything was great. They have many options, suggest me. Staff is friendly, enthusiastic and professional. The party went smoothly and I would highly recommend everyone to come here for events. If I have a chance I will come back again! Thanks very much!

The breakfast buffet at Cafe Du Lac in Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake has a wide range of delicious dishes. 500++ per pax for a sunday breakfast buffet in 5* Hotel in Hanoi is very value for money. All staff here are very friendly and helpful. A beautifull place in Hanoi for #staycation. The Sunset Bar inside the Hotel is also idea place for an afternoon tea.

Rooms were a bit dated and needed some upgrading. However still very clean and tidy. Has its own "old" charm. Everything worked well. Great surroundings for my daily morning walk around the lake and back lanes. Pretty good spread for breakfast and overall a good experience. Of course as a IHG member, the service for a preferred member was excellent.

Beautiful five star international hotel on the lake. All the staff that I interacted with spoke good English. They have an on-site ATM and they were happy to give me change for the taxi. I was disappointed that only one of the restaurants was open (Saigon). The Italian one was closed, even though the front desk guy who checked me in mentioned there was a choice. Maybe they alternate every other night (I only stayed one).

A beautiful view, the service was excellent, staff really friendly and help me a lot. They recommended me where should i visit in Hanoi, street food. The room was clean. Especially the breakfast at Cafe du Lac has a lot of delicious dishes. I will stay here when i visit Hanoi again

Very expensive for what they offers now. Maybe they changed the management due to Covid. Super low quality minimum amenities in the room without any compliment fruit or snack. No paper no pen in the room. Vietnamese family running around half naked and barefoot after the swimming pool. Order a Singapore sling at the lounge for 200k. It tastes like an artificial fruit juice. Even the decoration was horrible. They lost its charm. Never come back. Addition. When I complained the cocktail, they withdrew it from the bill.

The service was excellent, InterCon's staff members were very friendly compared to other 5-star hotels in Hanoi 😊. I only stayed at a standard room but it already enjoyed lovely views of the swimming pool, the lake and the like. There are many other cool experiences that can not be expressed through this short piece of review, yet it's the attitude of the hotel staff as mentioned that makes me want to come back this place many times to come, and that makes me highly recommend it to (foreign) tourists to Hanoi or Vietnameses who simply want to escape the daily routine ❤.

Best of what IHG has to offer & exceeds all expectations is what comes to mind when staying at Intercontinental Westlake. The warmth & friendliness of their staff makes you feel welcome and right at home, especially when I’m alone traveling for business. The unexpected surprise of receiving a birthday cake really shows how much they care & value their guests. Kudos to Erik & his team for such an amazing experience!

The facilities are incredibly nice and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was easy and successful. Having held a work meeting in their conference area, their team was exceptionally flexible and accommodating.

The property is beautiful. I can appreciate the constant upkeep of the grounds in a tropical setting. The pool is perfect. It has a shady spot for staying cool and relaxing. The attendant was attentive and offered to open an umbrella. The sunset bar is conveniently located for a refreshing evening drink or for those who enjoy it, BBQ. The breakfast buffet is delicious and there is a broad assortment of local and Western cuisine. * Accept water at your table and try the fruit juices at the bar. The coffee is delicious and they'll make it hot or iced. The location is what sets this property at a level exceeding the competition. The hotel literally floats out on the lake. You have a good view from literally everywhere. It's kind of funny taking the shuttle golf cart to your room (pod) but it was appreciated with the frequency of showers in Hanoi!

Absolutely beautiful. Very private quiet romantic atmosphere. So cozy in the room. The view in the sunrise was amazing with a cup of hot tea. Totally recommend for ones who want to relax or honeymooners

Hotel is a wonderful throwback to the past. Lovely traditional Vietnam inspired rooms. Many rooms are out over the water of West Lake. All the restaurants are grand. Location is a bit away from the city centre, it's a relaxing oasis from business of Hanoi. Good staff especially in the Exec Lounge.

What a beautiful hotel! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. The rooms are spacious. The location feels rather residential. I highly recommend to get up early and join for the morning activities (running, cycling, fishing...) around the hotel. It all seems to happen between 6am and 8am. I had a beautiful morning run along the lake, and enjoyed watching the busy streets, little alleys, people having their morning tea / coffee, taking out chicken for a walk... it was so much fun. Highly recommend it - much more entertaining than the gym.

The hotel is beautiful with stunning decor and architecture. And the service is the best I have ever experienced at any hotel in my life! One incredible lady - Van - brought my daughter, who was sick with strep throat, a plate of fruit and the kindest note. I was totally blown away. And all the other staff have been wonder too. They make you feel very special. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

Always loved eating at Milan! Never fails in its presentation of food and flavours, my family's 2nd best go-to place when you want great Italian dishes. Missed going since restaurants were closed the past months and so happy it has reopened.

Feels so relaxing when i sleep in their room directly on the lake. watch the sunset in the sunset bar feels so chill. I also love how clean their room is, plus they have excellent catering. I tried the buffet, room service and sunset bar, none of them have failed me.
