Excellent service with (truly) English speaking staff (I say that because I stayed in other hotels which claimed that and really no one spoke English), room was comfortable, location is ideal. The breakfast buffet had quite a large choice and was pretty good. We enjoyed that the property also had a fitness center. My partner and I had a flawless stay and I want to emphasize the staff was amazing, very attentive, enthusiastic, which really made our stay pleasant. We also tried the rooftop cocktails and they were amazing! We definitely would recommend this hotel.

We travelled to Hanoi for the first time and stayed at the hotel for multiple nights at different dates. Hanoi Pearl was our main stop point while trying to discover the country. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, and they made sure we checked in properly. We stayed in various rooms at different dates, on Levels 3 and 6, facing the back and front of the hotel. We loved all the rooms, especially on the back side where we enjoyed quiet sleep and recovered well to discover Hanoi and the country. The breakfast was always a highlight, where there was a wide selection of Western and typical local breakfast e.g. Pho, noodle soup. We loved the fresh watermelon juice and fruits. Guests can order fresh made omelette with the staff. We really appreciate the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff who made sure we were well taken care of. We asked for recommendations e.g. places to eat, visit etc. All recommendations from the staff were excellent such as Pho nearby, typical local cuisine and Hoa La prison. We would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay near the city centre while not overrun by loud and rude tourists. This is a small boutique hotel that can give us an unforgettable experience.

First, let me say that I have a policy of not leaving one-star reviews. But this is fully deserving of one. I have reviewed many venues and left glowing reviews. I do not like leaving negative reviews of venues because they are businesses (mostly trying their best, right?). But... Okay, first: totally misleading photos. The rooms are nowhere near the condition that the photos show. Also they allow durian (smelly tropical fruit). I came back and the hallway and my entire room smelt like the fruit. Intolerable. Stay away if you want a good night's sleep.

Highly recommended! The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Great location close to the lake and St Joseph's. The room was clean and looked great. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety.

Epic location and epic prices. Rooms are not amazing but spotlessly clean, cool and quiet air con however, for the price it is great value and would certainly return here. Thanks to the Manager Kevin for making us feel welcome after a hectic day of traveling, and making sure we were OK with everything. In terms of location, it cannot get any better than here. Thanks guys.

Located in the heart of Hanoi just Perfect to start your trips. Staff is great and always willing to help. Had a room with a „view“ directly on a wall in 1meter distance. So the room was quite dark. Gym is nice but very, very small and with a tiny selection of weights.

This is a nice hotel in the Hanoi old quarter. The rooms are in good condition and clean. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful, in particular Betty, Christine and Junie who are major assets for this hotel. We spent 3 nights there - they helped us with sightseeing and finding good local restaurants.

great place! extremely friendly and helpful service staff. hotel room was 5/5 - has a nice smart TV and everything is as you would expect from a hotel. the location of the hotel is fantastic - its right next to the lake, which is the centre of nightlife, food and is conveniently located next to a grocer. price is competitive as well :)

We booked a triple room for our family of three (mom, dad, and a teen) with a street view. Room was large, nice and clean. Location is fantastic! Food and beverage were very good in terms of quality and value. We enjoyed the rooftop happy hour with fantastic views and drinks every night. As others have said, the staff is the real highlight — all very helpful, responsive, and caring. The hotel (Jennie, especially) arranged walking tours, airport transfers, and a Ha Long Bay cruise for us too in advance of arrival — very helpful, reasonable prices, top quality. I have top tier status with multiple international hotel brands. With a little concern, we opted for the Hanoi Pearl because it seemed to present a great value in an ideal location. It was a great decision — really pleased to have stayed here. Next time we’re in Hanoi, we’ll come back here.

Recently stayed at the Hanoi Pearl and had a great stay. The staff was the best! From the doorman to the reception team - went above and beyond to make our stay great. The rooms were large and clean. The restaurant team was attentive and friendly during all of our breakfasts. The location is one of the really cool side streets in the old quarter with restaurants and bars. Highly recommend staying at the Hanoi Pearl when in Hanoi.

Location is just behind the main road of the lake, which is quiet and away from the noise. It is just a short walk from both Train Street, Night Market, Cathedral and the Lake. The Pearl Lounge rooftop bar has great cocktails and it was very nice to wind down after a long day on the comfortable sofas. The setting was also very nice and quiet. While it took a while for our drinks to come, they were excellently prepared, especially impressed by the gin based cocktails too. Complimentary buffet breakfast is really good, especially the pho, and also the yogurts. It has a good spread as well. The hotel staff are all very friendly and the service provided is great. Room is comfortable, large, with a rain shower, and the smart TV is really good for watching Netflix as well because you can connect your account easily. Definitely will stay at this hotel if I were to return to Hanoi again.

I only had an overnight stay here before an early flight but it had a great location. Near the lake and restaurants. The bed was squishy which you don't find here in Asia often. It was nice, not too squishy. The room was comfortable and nice with no fancy bits. I didn't get to eat at the restaurant but they made me a takeaway breakfast as I left before 6am which was both thoughtful and delicious. I'll stay here again when I visit Vietnam/Hanoi.

We spent three nights in Hanoi at Hotel Pearl, July 2 - 4 and July 6, 2022. This is our first visit to Vietnam, so my selection of the Hotel Pearl was based only on online photos and reviews. We were looking for a dignified mid-sizes hotel in a central location, on a quiet street with handsome rooms and a good breakfast. After 3 nights at the Pearl I can say we were very much in luck. Everything proved better than I expected. The interior design of our room was in good taste, with subtle pastels and pleasing details. The condition was immaculate. Each morning we enjoyed a feast of a breakfast, included in the room charge, with a remarkable assortment of excellent Vietnamese dishes as well as ample choices of more familiar European and American fare, attended by very cordial waitresses. I would also like to thank the very capable people behind the front desk. I had a number of unexpected requests, including an urgent need to fix a laptop problem. The hotel manager, Kevin, sent one of his assistants in a taxi with me to a computer shop where the hotel's clerk ably translated and the fellow at the shop repaired the problem remarkably quickly. I also had a leather handle of an old briefcase detach. I went down to the desk to ask Kevin for a repair idea. He got out a map and sent me to another shop a few blocks from the hotel where a fellow who spoke no English went to work, stitching on an improvised leather strap that made the briefcase fully usable again. I also needed various documents scanned and copied, and again the front desk quickly complied, with the hotel's cheerful doorman delivering the papers to our room. We did not use the hotel's handsome rooftop bar enough, but its wide view over the nearby lake is pleasant and the barman prepared very refreshing juice concoctions. In short, we have been more than satisfied by the service and the quality of this remarkable hotel. It's gem... and a pearl. Timothy and Lucia Holliday Sacramento, California

Very nice hotel in centre of Hanoi. Convenient location, spacey and bright rooms, very clean and really kind helpful staff. Breakfast very good as well. The only minus I can think of is that they don't have a working restaurant, you can't have lunch or dinner there, nor food room service. In my case, had to get take out

I really enjoyed my stay. Staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Rooms were clean and well stocked with amenities. The complementary breakfast buffet was excellent. Great location that’s a bit out of the way but quieter and easy access to some excellent food and coffee shops.

A good property close the central Hanoi. Many tourist locations are in a walkable distance. Local market is close by. Many restaurants around. Room is comfortable with decent facilities. Breakfast options were limited and it is difficult to find a quite table during breakfast time. Service was okay.

Rooms were clean, location was great, and breakfast was good. We loved our stay here. Everything was great but I must tell you the staff here top everything else. We were informed upon arrival that booking had booked us a room with no windows. Being highly claustrophobic that wasn’t going to be an option for me. Dominic, the front manager, worked tirelessly to move us around so that we had a window in each room. Dominic went above and beyond and we so appreciated everything he did!

Quiet hotel in a small corner of the Old Quarter. Receptionist speaks excellent English and you hear literally zero noise from traffic at night. Rooms are a bit small but totally worth the price. Highly recommended.

  • 3/5 ankit t. 9 months ago on Google
Smaller rooms than our store house, usually jam packed because of the location at main market, room cost per night however seems to me quiet high as compare to hotels in the same vicinity. Food packed taste coz of very low vegetarian options, please be alert and ask twice before talking any thing in your plate as it might contain pork/beef/shrimp/ non veg. In slices. Best bet are fruits & Breads. Eggs can be a saviour.

Nice clean hotel with a very good breakfast included. Right in the center of the Old Quarter and close to the lake. Airport transport was also efficient - though with traffic about an hour. Rooftop bar is great - better drinks than some of the neighboring hotels. Has a small exercise facility with 2 bikes, 2 treadmills and a few weights.

Good location, across the street to the old quarters. Located just off the main road so it is not noisy at all. Wide selection of international eateries all around.

Jimmy at Hanoi pearl hotel is the most helpful and friendly staff a hotel could have. He is super resourceful and can help you answer any questions you may have about Hanoi and any tours you may be interested. Your stay in Hanoi will be enriched by his knowledge and kind nature. Thank you Jimmy!

I spent New Year's eve at the rooftop bar. It was absolutely amazing and unforgettable! The staff is extremely nice, friendly and speak very fluent English. Best service ever! Good view from the bar at a top location in Hanoi. Thank you so much!

The rooms definitely could use some updating. The tub shower is dangerously slippery and elevated. I slipped and hurt myself on the catch. Rooms had an odd odor. However, walk outside and you’re in the heart of activities and a block from the walkable lake with shops.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Room was comfortable and air-conditioned which was a very good place to be taking the heat in consideration. Was near the lake as it was festival time and a very short distance to all the action. The area was rich in all different type of small businesses and cultural heritage. The hotel had a excellent breakfast. Cannot comment on dinner and lunch as I did not make use of it but I don't think that it would be anything else than the best. Also a spa and fitness center for use by guests as well as a splended rooftop lounge. The staff from the attendant at the door to the manager was tops all in their very neat attires. Kitchen staff and everybody was always very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help. 24 hour unlimited Wi-Fi. Definitely a very good place to stay when visiting Hanoi.

Fantastic hotel in the French quarter of Hanoi. Great location. We stayed with 3 children and 2 grandparents and all of us loved it and didn't want to leave. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. Staff were amazing. Very attentive and welcoming and helped us book airport transfers and tours which were not overpriced like at some hotels. If we are lucky enough to visit Hanoi again we will definitely book here again. We stayed in 7 hotels during our stay in Vietnam and this was our favourite.

Wonderful spot, great facilities spotlessly clean. I stayed in the Jade terrace suite and it was brilliant. Highly recommend for Hanoi.

  • 5/5 Andrew l. 4 years ago on Google
Had a great stay here. Location is perfect next to the main starting point for walking round the old quarter lake. And in the weekend when the entertainment starts at night, you’re perfectly placed to be in the thick of the fun and people. The hotel staff are friendly and very polite and helpful and keen to be of service - couldn’t fault them. My room didn’t have any windows but they accurately advertises this when I booked. That said room and bed was very nice and comfortable. I would come again next time and stay here. Don’t forget to go out door in the morning between 6am and 7am to see the market sellers do their trade. And lastly try the Note cafe just round the corner for an interesting interior whilst enjoying egg coffee or egg hot chocolate.

Excellent location, very clean. We stayed 2 night ( 5 people 2+3 kids). The staff is most professional and the rooms are very comfortable. Great hotel for a family. We got got back to this hotel and after the manager impressed the breakfast ( wrote me about it) I’m changing my ranking to 5 stars!

Great hotel, in the old quarter and very close to the central lake but also not so heaving that you can't move when you walk out the door! Staff were all superb, all spoke great English, some excellent English in addition to many other languages as well. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome and help with our questions. Breakfast was very good as was the room - well equipped, high quality with very comfortable bed and bathroom facilities. Rooftop bar also work a quick visit.

Centrally located. Just a minute walk from the lake. Neat rooms and friendly staff always serving with a smile. But didn't like the bed too much and the floor boards creek, quite annoying at night.

Great hotel with a great price. Awesome location in old town. You can walk to every attraction nearby . All of the staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will return in the future. I was stayed in different hotel before moved here ( same street) but i was not happy about the room and the eco in the the hallway is really loud which make me decided to switch the hotel on last day of my trip. So Hanoi pearl is best option in the area .

May 14, 2022, room 407. Check-in a bit slow but ok. Nice room big bed with internal window. Solid wood furniture, nice bathroom and shower very clean. Great buffet style breakfast, lovely présentation, various choices plus made-to-order options. Exceptional flan, cake, chicken wings coupled with smiling friendly staff. A minor shower drain problem was promptly fixed. Fantastic way to start the day. Great stay we will be back. Excellent Quality to price ratio.

Stayed 4 nights in May 2022. Great location with staff providing 5 star service for a beer budget. Had a big night and left my backpack outside. Staff brought it up to me. It had my passport in it and was flying to Sydney the next day. Cant say how much it was appreciated and the pain it saved me for losing such an important document. A class establishment with nice breakfast.

Stayed here in mid December, and really enjoyed our stay. Very convenient location for sight-seeing, and other great restaurants in the area. Rooms were clean and spacious, and breakfast (though a little crowded), was really good. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hanoi Pearl for a week in Hanoi. The staff were very friendly and looked after our every need. The hotel was very clean and well appointed, and our rooms were quite. The hotel is close to good restaurants and many shops. I would certainly stay here again.

Very friendly people, very clean and quiet and all sightseeing spots within walking distance. Perfect and newly renovated rooms and beds. The rofftop bar is highly recommended. Rich breakfast buffet with perfect service. A perfect place in Hanoi

Absolutely Nice and lovely Hotel. The location is perfect with all sightseeing spots in walking distance. Though that, the Hotel is really quiet. Rooms are well equipped, AC is new, powerful and quiet. Bathrooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Minibar prices fair. Room service available, housekeeping fast. Breakfast buffet absolutely rich with both local and continental dishes. The rooftop bar is another highlight. Nice Cocktails and fair prices, courteous bar keepers and a very nice lake view. The personel at the reception Desk is very helpful and organized a Tour to Nin Binh as well as the airport Transfer. So, in all, ist is a really Nice Hotel with Nice Service and especially polite Team. Thank you for that!

The staff at The Pearl is absolutely incredible. Jimmy helped us book our Halong Bay boat and the massages at the spa were incredible. We ended up going twice in a row! The breakfast was great and we loved having coffee in the morning before we planned our day. The location was also wonderful because it wasn’t as touristy and there are a lot of terrific places to eat on the street. Can’t think of a better place to start our trip - thank you!!!

5 star for staff that were friendly, they do their best to help you whatever the request is. Traditional pho breakfast was very good, the pastries are decent too. 4 star for rooms.

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious, but you are also located right in the heart of the city which makes for easy walking to popular destinations. Staff are kind and attentive, and will be more than happy to give recommendations and travel advice. Would certainly come here again!

We love this boutique hotel. Our king room was nonsmoking and spacious. The breakfast was huge with pho and omelet station. Everything was clean good Wi-Fi. The staff was amazing and helpful above and beyond. We exchanged money there too. Spa prices seem to be $20 usd for hot stone 60 min onsite. We will be back for another night after visiting Sapa and haloing bay. Loved location.

They charged me $16 US dollars for a towel my hair dyed got on. The room a night is roughly $40. Does that even make sense? There’s no real window in our room. Weird standing tub shower.. kinda dangerous for elders to slip
