Currently staying here, we initially had an issue with our room, but we were approached by Grace from the Imperial Hotel staff and resolved all our concerns, she also was appreciative of our feedback. The beds are very comfortable, rooms are very clean and spacious with a small fridge and a safe for your valuable belongings. The shower has good water pressure and HOT/COLD. The A/C works great. And they have a weight scale!!! The room is also equipped with a USB charging port and a reading light on each side of the bed. Rooms may differ a bit due the layout. But overall all good. If you stay here, choose the breakfast option as it's of great value and it helps you have a good start for your day exploring Hanoi. If you need tours they can also help you get set up. Thanks for making our honeymoon special ❤️

The friendly and always helpful staff offer you a delicious tea as soon as they welcome you into the gorgeous lobby. They offer you luxurious seating as they prepare to take you to your beautiful room with scenic views of Hanoi from your jet bathtub, room and balcony. The breakfast buffet is the most delicious cuisine in the city! Be sure to treat yourself to a one-hour body massage in the spa. You'll thank me later. A five star experience awaits you at the Imperial.

Located in a quiet street as compared to most hotels in the old quarter. Many food options (highly recommend Pizza 4P’s opposite) and spa/massages right outside the hotel. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. While I was getting off the taxi, an extremely helpful bellboy who was on his way to work (he haven’t changed into his uniform) came and helped with the luggage. Grace Nguyen at the front desk was also very nice and friendly to all the guests. She was very helpful whenever we needed something. She even remembers our room number when we were trying to recall.

We would like to compliment the exemplary service of all the staffs in Imperial Hotel & Spa (including the porters, counter staffs and cafe's staffs). Suzie Tran and Grace Nguyen had been very helpful by explaining the places to visit to us when we first check-in and attending to us even after work. On the second day, my friend had diarrhea and Suzie asked the porter to help to get the medication from the pharmacy. The hotel has also gives my friend a surprise by decorating the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on the bed with a bottle of wine when they know it's his birthday. We are very happy with the experience in Imperial Hotel & Spa and highly recommended to stay here.

Best hotel in the Old Quarter. The hotel is really a 4 star. Not sure why Google has it as a three. And as far as customer service goes, it's like a 5+. Absolutely amazing staff and great English. The location is ideal with loads of cafes and restaurants and spas all around. It's well located for the key sites as well. The rooms are very clean and the hotel has been upgraded, so nice charming reception area and well appointed rooms. The bed was really comfy, good pillows and nice bathrooms. I have recommended this hotel to everyone I know.

Great hotel with friendly and professional staff. Very close to the main attractions of the city center and no city/traffic noise at night. I could also take a shower in the afternoon before going to the airport. Breakfast is really good. Only negative point is the fridge that makes some noise; but I just unplugged it during the night :) I would definitely go back there.

Nice location. Very good, cooperative and English staff. Big thanks to Grace and Tracy at reception. However many rooms have very compromised view. Very few rooms have somewhat acceptable view of the street. You have every thing close by from the hotel - eating joints, shopping, tourist sites and even many cafés.

Solid hotel, gorgeous lobby, perfect location. Staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast tidy and intimate with a small selection of local foods available. Management is working to reduce their packaging waste, and has changed their water to filtered water in glass bottles in collaboration with a filtration system on site. No single use plastic bottles! Rooms clean and serviced. Wonderful stay in Hanoi.

An absolute gem of a hotel in the middle of Old Quarter! If you are considering any hotel in the area, look no further - this is it! First of all, the rooms are nice, spacious and clean - air-conditioning is superb to battle the blazing heat outside. Next, the location is AMAZING, there are so many delicious food just minutes walk from the hotel. Most importantly, the level of service and attentiveness is top notch. I want to give a shout out to Julie, Tracy and Grace. During our stay, they were super friendly and helpful. On our last day, we got to the airport only to find our flight has been delayed by Typhoon. Grace immediately found us transport back to the hotel from airport, and quickly arranged a clean room for us to rest. Little did we expect the lovely surprise when we got to our temporary room - a nice bottle of Vietnamese wine and rose petals! The hotel team was so attentive that they knew it was my birthday and gave us a little token. Absolutely loved our experience here and we will definitely book this place again when we come back ❤️❤️❤️

A fortnight has already elapsed since we returned to New Zealand but the extraordinary welcome and stay at the Imperial Hotel in Hanoi remains the highlight of our overseas holiday. The management and their delightful staff were absolutely wonderful, helpful and kind at all times. Nothing was a bother, on the contrary, everyone made sure our stay was going to be an ultimate experience, and so it was. My desire and wish is to return again one day soon to experience more of the exceptional kindness bestowed on Helen and myself. It was sheer bliss! Thank you all at the Imperial Hotel for your kindness and managing a perfect stay for us both. It was all truly wonderful! I highly recommend the Imperial Hotel in Hanoi to everyone. The rooms are delightful and the variety on offer for breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. The service was equal to any 5 star hotel and a credit to the management. Sincerely, Harald Rothschild, Christchurch. New Zealand.

Although looking a little tired since our last visit, this is still a great hotel in a great location. The staff members are welcoming, friendly, pleased to help and they go the extra mile to do so - excellent customer service. The breakfast in the 8th floor restaurant is very good. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice and clean boutique hotel tucked at a quiet corner in Hanoi Old Quarters. Walking distance to eateries and shops. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. All the hotel staff speak fluent English. The buffet breakfast is delicious with a good variety of food.

Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, right in the bustling city center. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality of service. The front desk receptionist was exceptionally helpful and attentive, ensuring a smooth check-in experience. Kudos to the bell boy who, on weekends when the road is closed, went the extra mile by helping us carry our luggage to our drive. Outstanding service and thoughtful touches—highly recommend!

1 less star was because there was no view from our room - was covered by a tree and some reno works? Otherwise, this hotel would have been perfect. From the location, to the staff and hospitality, all was impressive. Staff even handed a farewell gift to us upon our departure. Everyone should consider this hotel when looking for a mid-range hotel in Old Quarter Hanoi :)

Great location and great services. We had minor issues or questions about the room but those were attended to promptly. The hotel actively sought feedback from us and hope they continue to draw customers as they deserve.

Reasonable price and close to Hoankiem/old quarter. VERY KIND staffs made me feel warm. If you have a night flight they offer free shower service! If they had a mirror in the guest room it would’ve been perfect…

Junior suite upgrade to something better (with a bathtub as I request). I struggle between Sheraton in West lake and this one near old city. The service from the staff is excellent. They know my itinerary and try to confirm with the klook tour guide for us. (I.e. the cruise in ha long bay) To be honest, staffs' English and service standard is higher than low end 5 stars hotel. The hotel is not old but the decorations are so so. The room is clean and acceptable as 4 start standard. The breakfast is good although not much choice. It is much better than our expectations. The location is excellent! Most of the scene can be reach by walk and about 350000 vnd grab plus from and to airport. I will recommend this hotel to any budget traveller those want to have good food and service but a cheaper price. Thanks Ian for the goodbye gift (coffe set) and the welcome talk he provided. Last, no Chinese tourist during my visit. Thanks god. I come from Hong Kong.

I did not end up staying here because they had a problem with the room but they offered me a new room at a new hotel. I declined and found a different hotel, but the manager came to my hotel and refunded us the whole amount and gave me a gift package of coffee as well! They were super polite and helpful. Will try to book again with them in the future!

Great hotel in great location. The staff went beyond to make our stay pleasant. After we checked out, they still supported us in booking transport. They even let us shower in their hotel for free once we returned to Hanoi on our last day in Vietnam before we headed to the airport in the evening. Can’t recommend this place enough.

It was an amazing trip to Hanoi- the beautiful capital city of Vietnam. The hotel was super good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend a 5 star to the service and the location of the hotel. Thank you very much :).

This hotel is wonderful. It's in a perfect, tucked away location in the middle of busy old town but the hotel and rooms and quiet and tranquill. The rooms are big and clean with good aircon and breakfast was a good buffet with a view. When we arrived we were greeted by Grace who gave us lots of advice and a map about where to go and how to get there. She was so helpful! She organised tickets for the water puppet show and a day trip to the Perfume River. We had to checkout before leaving Hanoi and she stored our luggage for us and allowed us to use the shower in the spa before our overnight train. She was always happy to help and was very friendly. Thank you Grace for making our stay so effortless!

I used this service for my first trip abroad alone. The hotel staff explained everything in detail so that even I, who speaks only a few words of English, could understand. The hotel facilities were a little old but clean. Breakfast was buffet style and very tasty. I recommend this hotel to those who are looking for high cost performance.

5-star service. Extremely helpful staff who took great care of us. They give you tea when you are waiting in the lobby, open the door for you, will help you make restaurant reservations, and book tours and activities ( I highly recommend the La Casta Halong Bay Cruise, it was STUNNING). They even helped us buy medicine and extended our check-out time when we got sick at the end of our trip. Truly the best service I have ever experienced! The only disappointment was that our room did not have a window. So if that matters to you, I would check with them to see if the room you are booking includes one.

Really fantastic hotel and stay with our two kids. They were really communicative before our trip via email and also went above and beyond in every way. Super yummy breakfast buffet, lovely rooms, even a farewell gift!!! central location close to all the best shops and cafes we had a wonderful time!!! definitely worth staying here.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel in Hanoi. The service was exceptional, and the room was not only clean but also incredibly comfortable. While I encountered a few minor issues during my stay, the staff went above and beyond to assist me, displaying remarkable kindness and professionalism. I was truly impressed by their willingness to address and resolve any concerns I had. Overall, it was a delightful stay, thanks to the superb service and the warm and welcoming demeanor of the staff.

Very good hotel, only wish the room we got had a better bathroom. Otherwise wonderful hotel, great location and great hotel staff. Special thanks to Grace who was very helpful, friendly and made our stay better knowing we could ask her for help at any time. Would stay again.

Just outstanding !! A truly memorable stay. We arrived early from Sapa at 6AM. They greeted us with some tea and offered the use of the spa whilst waiting for our room to be prepared. Every member of the staff looked so happy to serve us , from the concierge to the receptionist to the restaurant & housekeeping. Hospitality taken to a whole new level.

Incredible hotel, we loved our stay here! The staff were so attentive, the room was fantastic and the location is perfect for exploring Hanoi. There are also great food spots nearby. The staff even coordinated something for my birthday without being prompted and we received a complimentary upgrade! Definitely would stay here again!

A good hotel, well situated in the centre of Hanoi. It is located on a side road so is more peaceful and quiet, escaping the majority of the traffic noise. Several good restaurants are very close by as well as the central lake. Service was very good and polite, rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds and free water replaced daily.

3 star but feel like more than 4 star, seems like old hotel but modernly renovated. Room and hospitality superb, just lacking the area. Close to many attraction and tourist environment.

Being a globe trotter that I am, I stay at variety of places in different countries from 2 star hotels, bnb properties to 5 star resorts. Never ever I have had such a wonderful experience as at this little non-descript hotel in Hanoi. Hotel is clean, great and all but more than anything people managing this property (specially Grace and Tracy) are just unbelievably caring. On one instance, they accompanied me to the nearest hospital to get a COVID test done (with the language issues and all), paid for taxi as the driver didn't have the change. Waited with me till the report came and got us back to hotel. Which front office staff have you come across that does that these days? To see me off after checkout, Grace came to the taxi in a thunderstorm. Seriously? A 5+ star experience.

The staff were friendly, accommodating and highly professional. I moved from Oriental Jade (after a company event) as I didn’t really appreciate luxury and I was surprised this hotel were all out to give an excellent service. They upgraded me to a suite (and it was big!) on level 7 and allowed a late check out at 2pm. I love the room as morning dawn was just a look out the lovely window. The little work desk somehow gave me inner peace which I wasn’t able to get elsewhere. Strange but true. I also booked an airport transfer with the hotel as I guess that was a way to show my support for all the good work they have done. Breakfast was good and plentiful and I got my favourite omelettes. I left as a happy customer and will be back again!

Great location, friendly and attentive hotel staff with big smiles. We were upgraded at check-in to a larger room. Breakfast was buffet-style with a mix of Vietnamese/Western choices. I enjoyed the spa (guests get a 30% discount) and nice water pressure in the shower. Street noise wasn’t too bad (travelling with a 5-year old who’s a light sleeper!) and curtains don’t have overlapping tracks so gaps of light still shone through, but a solid 3-star/boutique hotel all around.

Arrived at the hotel just before 6am and were greeted with smiles and a warm drink. Fantastic service throughout our stay here, staff are prompt to respond to our needs and they even gave us a pleasant farewell gift - Vietnamese coffee and a coffee filter! When we booked a Grab to the airport, Grace had personally called the Grab driver to direct him to the hotel. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Hanoi!

Imperial Hotel is conveniently located in Old Quarter of Hanoi, easy to explore eateries and shops/markets, close to the lake and easy pick up/drop off for Ha Long Bay cruises. The service was great from the start, we opt in for the airport transfer, which was about the same as finding a taxi ourselves, but with the comfort knowing we're going straight to the hotel and not going to get scammed. The manager welcome us with genuine interest on what we're planning to do in Hanoi, provided lots of helpful suggestions of places to visit based on what we were interested in, very accommodating with any requests we had to make our stay comfortable. It's hard to find a good hotel in Old Quarter of Hanoi, this one is a Gem.

I would like to give 6 stars to this hotel if i can, definitely one of the best hotel I ever stayed, special thanks to the hotel staffs, especially Tracy and Grace, which go Extra mile to assist us with all kind of arrangement from tracing bus booking to transport arrangements from sapa-Hanoi. The room was nice and spacious, exactly like the picture. They gave us free upgrade on our first night. Breakfast was good with variety of choice and they change the menu daily. Overall, the experience was excellent.

We enjoyed staying in the Imperial Hotel & Spa in Hanoi. It is located in the center of Hanoi (Old Quarter) and close to food and entertainment opportunities nearby. The room was nice and clean and the beds are super comfortable. The staff in the hotel was really supportive and always tried to fulfill every request in the best possible way!

Of all hotels I’ve stayed at across asia, this is unequivocally the most attentive, friendly, smiling and helpful team of staff I’ve met. Particularly front desk team are super prompt and during check-in they take time to walk through dos and donts in Vietnam to stay safe, specific list of eateries, attractions and more so you wont wonder where to go next. Calling front desk for extra towels took the staff less than 2 minutes to knock on our door (you wouldn’t get this speed even at 5-star hotels). When you arrive at lobby there will be 1-2 staffs that always opens the door for you while the reception will press the lift for you. There’s so much care in what they do that it really shines through. They’re a 3 star hotel with 5 stars service. The hotel is situated right across the famous 4P’s pizza restaurant with some of the best food you can have. You’ll get a great night sleep because the hotel is in a quiet corner while you’re in the heart of all attractions and lovely food. If you’re wondering where to go, this is exactly it. You’ll enjoy your stay and more.

They have superior services. Far beyond my expectations. We stayed with them one night before ha long cruise. We asked them to keep our luggage for us. After the cruise we didn’t stay with them they still happy to take luggage out and called us taxis. We forgot our water hydro flasks they called the taxis to turn around. All that without expecting any tips from us. This kind of service far beyond anywhere I had experienced.

The staff at this hotel went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Suzie, in particular, was super nice & helpful and introduced us to different restaurants and site-seeing locations. She also helped with a delayed luggage delivery from the airport, booked our taxi, and arranged our packed breakfast to go. Super hospitable. Will stay again next time we're in Hanoi. Highly recommend!

Stayed 3 nights and it was a nice stay. The service was incredibly attentive including Tracy which took the time to make sure we had everything we needed from directions to places to eat. Bed was soft and room clean. Location wise it’s very central near restaurants, bars and the lake but not too busy it’s frustrating.

  • 3/5 mich o. 10 months ago on Google
Very close to the main tourist attraction. I am giving two ratings as I believe this should be a 3 star hotel instead of 4. if it was promoted as a 3 star hotel, I would say a solid 5/5 considering one lift ( which broke down ) limited food options and room amenities. As a promoted 4 start hotel, I have rated as a 3/5. Compared to similar which we have visited throughout our travels, it doesn't deliver the value of a four star so I would check prices against other four star hotels. Some of the noticeable differences apart from the one lift and limited food options include the slippers provided, lack of luggage rack. Service was impeccable but that has been fairly consistent in all our stays.
