Great experience with Cat Ba Express. Journey to Cat Ba was quick and easy. We did a tour the next day and it was brilliant. Only 6 of us on the boat (they said they would have a max of 25), they took us to quiet places with hardly any other boats around. Served a nice lunch on the boat and made sure a vegetarian option was available to me. Very clean toilet. The guys who ran the tour were lovely especially the guide Tony. Would definitely recommend this.

The bus service from Cat Ba to Hanoi was great and timely, would book it again. Though they are the most expensive for the day trip on Lan Ha Bay, their boat and staff is great. The guide we had Tony was really cool and friendly. The hours could be longer, that's the only reason why it's a 4, otherwise 5/5.

Bus tour and the serenity cruise were great experiences. Lost a two stars because they refused to drop me off at my hotel after the cruise as it was supposedly too far for them. However they will pick you up at the start of the tour which now leaves you in a situation with noway home. They should discount customers for this inconvenience..

I'm very impressed with this Serenity Premium Day Cruise. The cruise at Catba is not as busy as Halong bay. The price (about 2 times cheaper than Cruise at Halong bay) is very cheap compared to the impressions and activities I got. I like Catba more than Halong bay because less people and able to fully kayak in the middle of nature. 😊All staffs take care of everyone thoroughly and closely. The food service staffs are friendly and attentive to each individual dish. The food is varied, plentiful and delicious. 🤤 The boatman is smiling and friendly.🛳️🙂 I like the atmosphere on the cruise that is not crowded and has a private corner to sit quietly. Drink prices are reasonable. Overall, it was a very impressive day on our Vietnam trip and it's incredible to have a trip like this at such a low price. I'm very thankful to all the staffs for making us happy on vacation. It's a very good once-in-a-lifetime memory. The guide (Dai vu) is cute, friendly, talkative & funny. I’ve learn from the stories told by the guide such as the life of fisherman & fishing village, fishing, local life, Vietnamese culture, and surrounding nature. One thing that impressed me was that the guide was experienced as a local and had been familiar with the Catba area for a long time and therefore shared stories interpolating from his experiences. 😆Funny!! I had never kayaked before and I learned my first paddle with a guide. Thank you for your hard work with us. 🙂

Used the bus service to cat ba plus the day tour on serenity. The bus was comfortable and on time. The tour was a great way to get to see the epic beauty surrounding the island. The tour guide was great, as was the seafood lunch. We were only 13 people on the tour.

We had a private Ha Long Bay boat tour that was 3 days and 2 nights. There were about 20 of us. It was such a chill balance between kayaking and swimming (the adventurous stuff) and lounging around the various islands/boat and doing our own thing. The rooms are really nice too. The meals were insanely generous portions and included mostly seafood, tasted like home-cooked goodness. Tom Cruise was our awesome tour guide, and the whole staff did a wonderful job taking care of us. They even delivered a bag that I had accidentally left behind at the Cat Ba office to their other office in Hanoi for me. Thanks so much for everything!

The bus service was very attentive from the beginning to the end of the trip. Once on the Island of Cat Ba they made sure that all of the passengers arrived safely to their respective hotels or hippie camps. We in particular stayed at the Jungle Woodstock Camp and they drove us out of their way to take us to the exact place. So to conclude they are very kind and welcoming people in general and I would highly recommend them.

My husband and I decided to visit Ha Long/Lan Ha Bay from Cat Ba to avoid tourists crowds and have better prices. Cat Ba Express was recommended in our French guide Le Routard to commute from Hanoi to Cat Ba. The 4h trip was seamless, with a friendly guidance from Son who gave us useful tips to enjoy our stay. They were not pushy about selling us the tour but they were trustworthy so we gave it a shot, as long as a few other people from the bus.The tour was amazing, Phuc our guide and the whole crew were too. We were lucky to have the best weather and a 60 pax capacity boat for only 12 because of low season. The dream! Thank you Cat Ba Express!

Impressively smooth transfer to Cat Ba from Hanoi. For pickup, a motorbike goes ahead of the bus to find you at your hotel and potentially walk you a short distance to a more accessible spot for the bus, and arrival for us was perfectly on-time or even early. The bus is comfortable and the operators are very friendly. Overall, it took about 3 hours each direction with one bathroom stop midway between Hanoi and the speedboat. Very affordable at $26 per person round trip.

I did sunset tour. If you might know, a little bit more expensive than the tour of the other agency. I might have expected too much. Between staffs has non communication. After selling their program. They never answer the text. (Before paying, so fast answer.) I asked whether the tour could be canceled as it's raining all day. Never answered. And they didn't pick me up as promised. The staff in the main office hadn't told the guide where to pick me up. Bus number, bus color all info was wrong.

Good communication on the way to Cat Ba but when we needed picking up they didn't give us a meeting spot and when we called, they kept saying 5 minutes away. In total they were 45 minutes late.

I had originally tried my hardest to avoid visiting Cat Ba through a tour operator. I was convinced that I would be able to figure the time tables and to transfer buses and ferries on my own in order to save some money. However, once I started the process of research I realized that it would much more of a stress than necessary. I stopped by the Cat Ba Express office in Hanoi and told them honestly that I was trying to figure out how to go on my own - they gave me all the information they needed without pushing for a sale and explaining to me what I would need to be careful if I planned a trip by myself. I really appreciated their honestly and their genuine interest in helping me. I ended up coming back a week later to purchase their services. The bus was extremely punctual and comfortable. They provide you with a few snacks and water during the ride and our tour guide, Shanghai, was very friendly, personable and informative. He always made sure that everyone was comfortable and we had everything we needed. When we arrived to Cat Ba, we asked to be dropped off at the National Park before we made it to the tow and they were very accommodating. We also booked their one day tour of the Lan Ha and Ha Long Bay which was wonderful and so worth the value! If I could give it more stars I would! Thank you so much for all your help!

This was the best transportation service I have used. We took the bus from Hanoi to Cat Ba and I felt this company went above and beyond other bus transportation services. There was a very helpful staff member on the bus who explained the itinerary and the stops in both English and Vietnamese. The buses we were on were new and comfortable. I was so impressed I booked our Halong Bay day cruise with them and I was not disappointed. I think the tour might have been a few dollars more than others around town but it was worth it to know I would get quality service by very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend if you are going to Cat Ba.

Best way to travel to and from Cat Ba. Very good bus company for reasonable price (15$). Buses are comfortable, clean, and on-time. English-speaking staff is very friendly. The bus tour is actually a bus-boat-bus tour, but that is no problem since everything is organised so well. I lost a small bag with valuable items during a trip from Cat Ba to Hanoi, notified the company, and got an reply a short time later that they found my bag. I was able to pick up the bag the next day with everything still in there (thanks!). Very recommended!

Booked a trip to from Cat Ba island from Hanoi & another back from the island to Ninh Binh. The first trip was great, lovely tour guide and safe journey. The journey from the island to Ninh Binh was just okay - very unsafe driver & nearly left me behind twice.

Took the Cat Ba Express from Hanoi Old Quarter to Cat Ba island. We were picked up at our hotel right on time. Our tour guide Binh made sure that we were all informed of the itinerary and we were dropped off in front of our hotels on Cat Ba Island safely. The journey was by express bus, speed boat and express bus again to Cat Ba downtown. Recommended if you want a stress-free travel to Cat Ba!

We really appreciated our trip organized by Cat Ba Express! They were so helpful in coordinating everything, such as making sure we got picked up in time. We really wanted to go to Lan Ha Bay and not many providers offer this option, so we were really happy about it. They ensured that our vegetarian diet could be accommodated, which made us feel so welcomed during the tour. The trip to Lan Ha Bay was quick and efficient in a comfortable van. Of course, views of the bay from the cruise ship are breathtaking! We had a lot of fun kayaking and swimming in the wonderfully warm Lan Ha Bay waters! We took the Cat Ba Express from Hanoi to the island and a few days later we got back the same way. Everything was fine, the bus was clean and comfortable, the guide was really polite and gave us some information about Cat Ba. They picked us up in time in the old quarter and when we got out of the city, we were told how everything works (getting to the speedboat and go on with another bus,…). So there was no confusion, we had a relaxed time and the price was also good for what we got. On the way back they dropped us at their office in Hanoi and even called a grab for us because we had to go straight on to the airport. My girlfriend then realized that she had forgotten her yogamat in the bus so they tried to find it and drove the bus back to the office. So we got the mat back in time and still don’t had to worry about the flight. Thank you so much for the effort! We would definitely recommend this transfer option.

Good service but you cannot use the full lying position if someone is behind you

Solid bus service to and from Cat Ba Island. We left on time, with a bathroom stop and the option to use the new gondola to cross the straight and get to the island. The gondola was a really cool change from the boat transfer. Pricing was reasonable and the service was great, with a host to make sure everything was handled correctly. I would recommend them for any bus travels you have from Hanoi or Cat Ba Island.

Cat Ba Express took great care of my wife and me on our honeymoon. We went out to Cat Ba Island via their bus and speed boat and it was very easy. The guides were great and spoke English well. Tay was especially awesome and a character. Would do it all again.

My partner and I used Cat Ba Express to travel back to Hanoi. Dai was our guide and spoke excellently, was clear with instructions of the journey and extremely friendly. He is a credit to this company and appreciated his smiling face taking us safely back to Hanoi.

Received really outstanding service from Cat Ba Express. We were on Cat Ba when a typhoon was near. The staff went out of their way to reschedule our return journey so that we could make the last bus and boat back to Hanoi, and not be stuck on the island when the typhoon came and services were down. All staff we met were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. One staff member, Son, deserves particular praise for the way he calmly and efficiently helped many people make it back to Hanoi. I highly recommend Cat Ba Express. They're possibly a tiny bit more expensive than other companies, but for this high level of service and quality it's definitely worth it.

Hired the 2 days 1 night package in 3 star hotel. Everything went all right and as expected. It was the low season, so there was a fraction of occupancy. Still, all services provided were smoothly. Can totally recommend.

We booked 3 different trips with them. They are very professional for Vietnamese standards and prices are reasonable. HANOI TO CAT BA was a very pleasant bus ride with a super nice and funny guide called Tinh. HA LONG BAY DAY CRUISE: Very nice boat, decent service and a trustworthy guide Tony. He later arranged our bus trip to Nihg Bing with another company. He was directly available when the bus was 30min late.

Great service! The bus journey from Hanoi to Cat Ba was very smooth. At the start of the journey they explained how the journey would work (bus-boat-bus with 1 stop half way for bathroom and snacks). Each part of the journey ran smoothly and the bus was comfortable. I was pleased with the service so I also booked my return journey to Hanoi with this company. We got a small discount for paying in cash in the office rather than booking online.

Booked with this company for the transport to and from Hanoi to Cat Ba island, a day cruise through Lan Ha Bay, and stayed at their company hostel on Cat Ba island. Service was always exceptional and great communication through Whatsapp. Buses were clean, spacious and comfortable. Day cruise was so beautiful and really great value, included a delicious seafood lunch and planned activities. Will definitely book with these guys again if we come back to Vietnam!

Booked 2 free seats online through 12 Go Asia. This company contacted me to say actually the bus is full and i have to take a much later one. As that time was not suitable I refused this 'offer' and asked a refund. Sadly, appart from me having to find a new suitable busride, they did not help in anuway for my refund. They even ignored me from then on. Very unprofessional and below average service/company.
