I very rarely give a bad review, but I had to for this place (Membership prices are talked about below also). I got scammed into the promotion (1 free week of membership) they had on, when they rented out air purifiers to get people to sign the contract, then removed them after the promotion they had on. The main reason I spent a lot on this gym was for the air purifiers. No refund given or sympathy shown at all when I asked about it. Just a brazen attitude of "We don't sell air purifiers". As other people have said, sales staff can be absolutely horrid, manipulative and very annoying. I even had one senior member of staff say that if I don't get a trainer that I will get an injury for life and that will be very costly. Don't buy the argument that it is a quiet gym also. It can get very busy on week nights. Prices will vary massively. I paid 17 mil for a one year roaming membership, though I have had one person (foreigner) tell me they got a membership for 12 million for 16 months. Apart from that, there are many other annoyances. Like really loud music coming out of the other rooms, so you can't hear your own music on your headphones. Constant urine all over the floor in the men's toilets (which means yes, this gets brought into the gym area). I got athlete's foot once, so decided to stop showering there. Small annoyances like so many trainers walking around and taking up space and people being allowed to just drop weights loudly and recklessly, will also happen. I have been signed up to many gyms in Vietnam after living here for 11 years. This is the only gym that I regret signing up for.

I'm not sure it represents great value, I had a three day trial pass. I was surprised by the pollution from the road in the gym on the ground floor/road level. If you go off peak it's not too busy, although the trainers take a lot of the machines/areas for their clients without much thought for other members. There's no off peak membership so you pay full price. Peak times are crazy busy, music can be loud too. The whole membership sales process is hard work in establishing what the real/best/promotional price is.... I was quoted about twice as much as California (as they appear to have a genuine promotion) and I don't think it's twice as good. Although I've not joined California yet... It's more a 2.5 out of 5, but not a 3.

My honest 1 month review of Elite Fitness. I’ve tried 4 other gyms in the area and decided on elite. I would say my experience is alot better than I expected. I saw many negative reviews which scared me a bit but I tried the gym and a month in so far and I think it’s a really good fitness center. Not perfect but better then expected. What I like: the gym is ALWAYS super clean. Especially the locker room which is a huge plus. It never stinks in-fact always smells good. The only complaint I would have for the lockers is some members use the hair dryers on their “body parts” lol. But this isn’t the gyms fault. Gym has great selection of machines and free weight. Everything you could think of and need. All new and modern equipment. Only issue is there’s only about 1 machine for each type of machine so you’ll likely have to wait to use it during peak hours. This can be annoying for such a “big expensive” fitness center but you can avoid this by going during non peak hours. I like to go from 11am-3pm and I have no issues getting a good workout. The members are chill and considerate on the most part. It’s the best crowd I’ve experienced compared to nearby gyms. People are actually working out and not just hogging machines to talk/mess around. My only complaint with members is yes some people do workout without shoes. I do believe the gym tried to solve this issue but people don’t listen especially the older generation. I would recommend this gym if you have the budget. It’s pricier than others but may be worth it. I do wish pricing was more transparent upfront but this is a common practice here in Vietnam so prepare to negotiate and know what you’re willing to pay.

I was interested in joining this gym and reached out to them for information. They responded to my inquiry and refused to tell me the membership prices. They said I had to come in person and they would show me the facility and only then would they show me any prices. This is absurd and so unprofessional. I will go to another gym (there's plenty in the area).

This is a sales and money focused business operating as a gym focused more on money than fitness. They have a pretty but ineffective selection of machines to work out so they can sign you up, they sell far more memberships than they have space to accommodate using machines without waiting, and the sales staff are without question only looking out for their and company income instead of your needs or value. I heard others in there complaining about charges and fees being outrageous, if they can find a way to charge you extra for upgrades, transfers, or any changes they are exorbitant. They try hard to get as much money from you as they can, then don't care unless they can get more money from you. It was double or more the price of all the other gyms I checked out nearby, and there are so many negative reviews on Hanoi FB groups.

New, good looking equipment and tons of PTs. Similar to other big chains in Vietnam their membership policy is targeted towards long term subscriptions, only offering 2+ year memberships or marked-up monthly tickets for 4m (staff was very reluctant to even state that there was a monthly option). Long term probably adequate gym, but absolutely not helpful when looking for a short/mid-term gym solution.

Stay away from ELITE FITNESS.. What a bunch of sleazy money grabbing opportunists. We have membership in HaLong and moved to Hanoi. The location near us is a level up, I get that, but they gave us an upgrade price higher than our 18 month membership originally cost just to finish the remaining time here. They even admitted we are better off buying a whole new membership. Basically, they have our money and will hold it hostage to get more from us, as much as they can. It's a sales office using a gym to take as much money from you as possible. It's not a gym company, it's a used car sales team working in a gym. Please do not fall prey to them like we did.

Everyone please avoid this place at all cost. I have experienced all the gyms in the Quang An/Yen Phu area and I can conclude that this is the worst experience ever. Firstly, they only give you 3 day trial and they keep interrupting you so u either have to buy a plan or stop going there. Secondly, their attitude is really terrible. They only care to steal money out of your pocket. They will do anything for sales. If they feel you don’t buy a plan right away, their attitudes change and make you leave. If you want high class gym, go to California nearby. They treat you as a person, not as a pile of money like Elite staff. For middle class gym, go to Top Gym.

Google Review for Elite Fitness: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Elite Fitness - their motto might be "Training Elite", but my experience suggests otherwise. I joined Elite with hopes of improving my well-being after the long COVID lockdowns. Eagerly, I signed up for 72 PT sessions. To my shock, my credit card was charged for 108. Though after threats of reporting fraud, they adjusted it to 112 sessions with 4 sessions free to appease me - a red flag I should've noticed sooner. I agreed because I just wanted to improve my health. My personal training journey was marred with incessant calls and texts urging me to upgrade my package, to the point of utter frustration. And as if that wasn't enough, my PT went MIA for a whole month, no communication whatsoever. It later came to light that Elite pressures their PTs to focus more on sales than actual training. Fail to meet sales targets? PTs face physical punishment and withheld pay, as shared by some. A bigger concern was the discovery that many PTs lack formal training or degrees related to fitness and nutrition. Their only qualification seems to be their own physique. This showed in their coaching. Mistakes in my exercises weren't met with helpful advice but with shouts and shame. After missing out on a month's training, I requested a refund, only to be outright denied. Why am I writing this? Well, I paid a lot of money to lose my sanity to this place so you don’t have to.. so stay far away from Elite Fitness. Save your hard-earned money and avoid the stress and disappointment this place brings. Don't just take my word, sign up if you’d like to try it out for yourself. Elite fitness — this place is neither elite nor about fitness. Elite Headache is more appropriate — if you ask me. Find a local, private gym! That’s where I’m heading when my contract is up. Cheers folks!

I wrote maybe 3 Reviews in my lifetime and only when I was extremely happy with the service. But today was just too much for my taste. I am not even talking about the annoying sales people and yes they are a Problem. But the Hygiene is a disaster of epic Proportions. People not wearing shoes and standing on the weights, Q Tips everywhere on the Floor in the men's dressing room AND in the Pool and Steam room, used Bandages and yes some bloody. To top it all of, when I complaint to the male Trainer with the Platinum Blond Hair, he laughed at me. Went downstairs to the reception, guy comes up with me and tells the guy to maybe put on shoes next time, instead of telling him to go home, as he broke the Rules. Went down again to tell them that the guy is still running around with his nasty barefoot approach. Didn't care. Trying to talk to the Manager, was told he is training and can not be disturbed. I accept that in a Gym we're I pay 20 Dollars a month but 100 % not in an expansive Gym like this. I am far from being the only Person that has complaint about this but it seems they don't care as soon as you have signed and payed up. Nasty.

Update to my previous review. - The gym has changed their parking policy without telling anyone. You now have to pay to park (Unless you are a VIP member). Membership here is very expensive and to take away this benefit without any communication is disappointing. This is not particularly about the money but it’s the principle. I will not be renewing my membership and I would suggest you read the small print or find another gym. (You get what you pay for. It’s expensive but covers everything you need in a gym. Lots of help and advice from the personal trainers and apps to help with your workout plan.)

Overpriced with inflexible contracts. You can only transfer if you upgrade your contract compared to many gyms that are satisfied with less than 600k. The pool is nice enough but it's small and gets crowded very easily. Not enough bench available at peak times.

Saying you have 3 seconds for making a impression. My 3 seconds has failed unfortunately. You guys promise to provide professional gym, we expect also professional service. Just one question for reception and they could not answer I need to provide my phone number so the sales team will contact and keep chasing clients by phone. The fact is, to pay for that high quality stuff, we dont have time for that call guys. Just straightforward clean and clear to clientele for policy wise. Im not recommend that since the beginning. Sorry!!!

I used to like the gym but not anymore. Benches are not clean, all 🥵 sweaty. People train without shoes, then they put their bare feet on machines and dumbbells. Lastly, you have to queue at 5:59 and wait till 6 pm to enter. 1 minute earlier is not possible. Not worth the money you pay for.

Completely wasted my time getting me to send my passport and take me all around the gym to not give me the 1 day trial they promised to give when I came in. Also note this gym is very expensive and not anybody can afford it (I’m sure the prices are extremely up for foreigners).

We went there with an air quality monitor from AirVisual. The air inside is as bad as it is outside. This means that it is so bad that it is not recommended to do exercise there.

Somewhat well-equipped for a gym. Only one squat rack, though. PTs do their trainings in the midday a lot of times and take up the only squat rack at the only time of day when few people are at the gym. They also seem to be wanting to save money on air-conditioning. No windows means no ventilation and the only source of air is an Aircon set at a very low setting, which is especially terrible on warm winter days. Letting the receptionist or manager know about the temperature is just a waste of breath.

Not much equipment during peak times. You’ll wait around. Personally, I think it’s too expensive for what you get. There are other options for less money in the area. It’s a boutique gym. If that’s what you’re looking for, then it’s perfect. If you’re looking for a gym to really lift weight, ie squats, deadlifts, etc.. then maybe not. Lots of cardio equipment and classes, which are included in the membership. Go in during peak hours to really see if it’s what you want, because you’re stuck with it once you buy. It’s at least a year at a time.

No day pass, nor do the people at the desk really know the options available - pretty incompetent. Not great for people passing through. But yep, good equipment and it's a good gym.

Great location but wouldn’t let me transfer my contract to a different person unless I paid another 20.000.000 on top of my 22.000.000. I would have stayed at the gym if I still lived in the same damn CITY and I explained this. Then Trung, the “manager” started ignoring my calls and messages because he is a scam. Not to mention the staff (that’s not Trung FYI but rather the sales team) contacting me everyday trying to get me to take a trainer when I had already said NO every time.

Facilities are nice and clean. But compared to other Elite locations, XD is subpar when it comes to empolyees' friendliness (based on my experience at NCT and DK). I noticed the receptionists were noticably nicer and more polite towards foreigners. The reverse colonialism is ridiculous. Nothing they did was rude or offensive but little things like not greeting you, or not saying anything when returning your gym cards just plainly putting it on the table, no eye contacts.... Stuffs like that seem unfitting for a premium price membership.

Super clean, wide range of modern, well maintained equipment. A high quality gym space for an overall reasonable price given the facilities. Also a really broad range of classes and a pool. Nice air quality and music too!

  • 1/5 Usman Z. 1 year ago on Google
I am very unsatisfied with the customer service at Elite gym. There are clients who work out with bare feet and put their sweaty dirty, bare feet all over the weights and equipment that other people touch with their hands. I have notified customer service multiple times, and they have not acted on this. Given that we are just recently exiting a global pandemic, you would think that cleanliness and hygiene would be a top priority for such an expensive, top-tier gym but that seems not to be the case here.

It's nice and clean. Pleasant and convenient facilities. I like that they have varieties of classes to take, from yoga to zumba and pilates. I also like the fact that classes and gym itself is not so crowded. It's quite pricey but if you use it every day and take classes, it's worth it. The fact that it has a parking space and shopping center right next to it is very convenient too.
