I was very happy with the service I received in this hotel. The dorms were adorable. I liked the beds and how there were places for us to keep our stuff in, like the small shelves inside our area and the compartments under the bed for our luggage. During our time here, the staff has treated us with nothing but kindness, especially that one receptionist with the name Linh. She was very friendly and casual with us, making us feel comfortable during our stay. She even helped us find a place to eat when we had no idea where to go. I had much fun staying in this hotel and I hope to come back here soon. :))

We spent 4 days here over the space a week and a half—we were traveling to other cities and this was our base. We were a family of 3. Our rooms were big. Lots of natural light. AC. Nice bathroom. Clean. James was very accommodating. Kept our bags for two days when we just needed day packs for a trekking trip in Sapa. Very convenient to all we wanted to do in the Old Quarter. Was able to arrange car travel to and from airport. About the same cost as Grab but we used it a couple of times when it was more convenient than Grab. Granted, we only stayed in this hostel in Hanoi so we can’t compare it but I find it hard to believe others wouldn’t be very satisfied to stay here.

I was here for just one night, rooms were quiet and comfortable, side street bustling in the day but peaceful at night. Above all else, David and James provided excellent service, helping to arrange my buses and hostels for later travels - it's worth remembering these guys have good contact with other popular hostels (such as Jasmine) so be sure to make use!

Staff are so helpful, my flight was delayed so I didn't arrive until 3am but I was welcomed and given refreshments by the receptionist. They helped me decide what to do in Vietnam and booked everything through the hostel discounts. The rooms are comfortable and the beds in the dorms are large and private with a full curtain and a personal lamp and shelves, and lockers for your bag. Highly recommended!!

I stayed here and had the best experience; I travelled to Vietnam solo and met lots of people at the hostel. The accommodation was clean and in a good location. Two of the guys that work at the hostel who I met (Ben and Daniel) were really friendly and helpful, they even helped me print some important documents out because I was unable to find an internet cafe nearby. Would certainly recommend this place.

There is nothing "luxury" about this hostel. We booked a private room which looked nothing like the photos and the smell of cigarette smoke (despite it being a non smoking hotel) was overpowering at night. Their laundry charges are very expensive, it's cheaper to go to the Giặt Sấy Worldwash Laundry around the corner who will do same day service for half the price. The only positive was the location.

I don't expect anything fancy in a hostel, but the bed linen feels quite damp. I thought it just because they haven’t changed, but then realized it because Hanoi had super high humidity on that day. On the plus side, it's great that you can come at any time and there is staff who can help you check in. Staff really helpful and nice here. I got the issue with hot water, I called them and in just 1 minute the stuff come to fix it. Also people are open to hear the feedback here.

The dorm was very comfortable and clean. James was amazing, always nice and chatty, he helped me sell my motorbike and deal with any other issues I ran into. Would recommend!

The staffs were so nice... There was a host everyday night whose name was Linh. She was so friendly and kind. You would be a friend with her, which is so nice especially when you travel alone. I can say that she will definitely help your trip, because she gave me hand even when I was in Hai Phong after leaving the hostel. The best hostel in my trip!

The every staff here was super friendly and helped me a lot! I booked this hostel with ‘agoda’ it said the breakfast is included so obviously I was looking forward to do it but the staff said there is no breakfast, i was extremely disappointed. Thank you for your help anyway

Very great hostel with lovely and helpful people. The rooms are well kept with tasty meals all while in a convenient location. Special shout out to Lihn for making me feel so welcome while in Hanoi.

I’m staying this hotel and will be continue to stay for like a week. So far this hotel is very good. Staffs are kind and responsible if I ask. The room is comfortably quiet and kept in an adequate temperature. Although the shampoo and soap are not very good, I can bare this only for a week. I saw some mosquito in my room. By the way several coffee shops are available around the hotel and egg coffee was incredible!

Staff are great, very friendly and helpful to navigate through Hanoi. The room and the property were clean and beds comfy. Definitely worth a stay especially as you are walking distance from everything.

I was very happy with my stay here. The staff was very helpful with any additional trips I was booking and always gave very good advice for anything I needed. Thank you and I look forward to coming again. The room was great to stay in and there’s plenty of space in each bed also with shelving and lockers. Very comfortable.

Luxury Backpackers Hotel is a good place to stay with the nice and welcoming Linh on their information desk. The room is clean, and the location is near the must-see areas. We will come back here whenever we are at Hanoi.

It was a wonderful experience staying at the place, The location is bang on, right close to all the major attractions, you can walk all the way. Linh was really helpful and delighted to deal with. Would definitely come and surely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Luxury Backpackers x2 times! James and Linh were especially helpful with organizing transportation for us to two different places. Always so friendly and warm with a smile. The room was very spacious, clean, warm water. You are also so central to many wonderful places :) Would definitely recommend

The hostel was overall very comfortable with convenient location. Beds were good. Also top bunk is nice as it has stairs and not ladder. Only problem I can think of was the bathrooms didn’t have slippers and were wet after shower and I didn’t have my own. Thank you so much for Linh. Linh helped me a lot and maid my stay so much better. Had great time talking to you. Hope I come again soon.

James was incredibly helpful with everything we needed in the hostel. The hostel itself is great and all the staff are really friendly. They help you with motorbike rental and they even held our bags safe when we went on a road trip. I recommend this hostel 100%

I checked I here last minute when I decided to extend my stay in Hoi An. Everyone I talked to was really helpful. It was also very easy to book the three-day Hà Giang Loop tour through them and they shifted the dates of my stay to accommodate. This place is close to everywhere I wanted to walk to in Hanoi.

The service James & Linh provide is great! They are very friendly and help out where they can. I had to print some things and they were very helpful. The beds are nice and you’re at a good location in the middle of the city, but it’s not too busy.

The staff is so helpful and kind. The accommodation is private, comfortable, and affordable. You can book several amazing tours from there and they arrange everything and give you lots of options. Daica, Linh, and Ha were especially friendly and helped me a lot. You're a maximum 15 minute walk from a lot of great tourist sites and the street has so many great restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend!

Best staff I have ever met! After landing at Hanoi airport I got a minibus to the hostel , stupidly left my phone in the bus and asked the guys at reception if they could helpful and called multiple companies and even took me on his motorbike across Hanoi to track my phone down which was making it's way back to the airport. He spent ages looking for it and finally got it back to me. Can't thank him enough. Super friendly and helpful, and aside from that the hostel is super clean and welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

Really good Hostel. The bed was comfortable, personal fan worked well (although room is also air conditioned), and lots of space around the bed to put your essentials. Lots of privacy with the surrounding curtain also. I wish all hostels were as good!

Can't rate the guys at luxury backpackers high enough. Alot of the time in Vietnam it's hard to talk to the people, here however the guys at the desk are really eager to help with anything they can help with whether it be visa runs, sights or trips elsewhere. Hostel is clean comfortable, safe and exactly what you would want from a stay in the city. Great place to stay for the price also.

Awesome stay!! The receptionist James is super friendly and helpful. He gave me a lot of good recommendations on all the good restaurants and coffee shops! The location is great and right in the city Center. I had a lovely stay. Highly recommended!!

This is an amazing choice if you’re traveling through the old quarter. The location is perfect, staff is friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are gorgeous (keep in mind, I have a private room). The beds are comfortable, plenty of room for storage, and the air conditioner CRANKS. I’d like to thank James at the front desk especially for helping organize my trip to Ninh Binh and arranging transportation to the airport. Also, you can rent a pretty good motorbike from them for like $6 USD per day. This place is a one stop shop and makes your stay in Hanoi super comfy and convenient :)

Came through for 1 night on the way to ha Giang loop and helped us book all our busses and gave us plenty of help with extra necessities. For a hostel the beds were mint and had lots of room to put your extra accessories. Would I advise coming here for a more chill hostel stay which is close to lots of stores and street food.

I’m an adult woman traveling solo and has just had a great experience at the Luxury Backpackers Hostel in Hanoi. The young hostel employees are ultimately helpful and friendly, at all times willing to be of help either with the stay, the best ways to move around town or booking tours or tickets. Thank you James, Link, Paul and Amy for the happy smiles and our chats, it’s been a pleasure to meet you! The shared room is comfortable, the shelf- surrounded bed is spacious and comfy and cleanliness is well-cared for. I’d definitely recommend staying here

The staff is very not nice and not helpful. The location is far from the center of nightlife and old quarter. Services like laundry etc are very costly, priced at $ with really bad conversion to vnd (the only place in Vietnam that I saw that in vnd the pricing is higher then in $…), The dorm rooms are on 6th floor (no elevator and steep stairs), and the dorm room entrance is stinky because of the toilet and showers which has no vent (there’s a vent but it’s not working…). The lobby is very small and lame and there’s no good vibes as in other backpackers hostels. I don’t know why it’s called luxury but it’s a lie, nothing luxury about this place. I can’t understand why this hostel is ranked so high, I highly recommend to go to different backpackers hostel, there are many places much better then this place (try buffalo hostel or central backpackers hostel for instance)

  • 1/5 Ward N. 1 year ago on Google
Way too high price for what you get. Very small double room, no window, no atmosphere in de arrival area and the host was purely focusing on selling tours instead of providing a good price/quality for the hostel itself. I regret having stayed here considering all the nice options (highly ranked 4 star hotel with swimming pool 5 minute walk from here, for the same price).

  • 4/5 Imani M. 1 year ago on Google
I stayed in a private room and the bed was comfortable and shower hot. Great hostel other than someone from the staff walked into my and multiple others’ rooms at 6am randomly. The room had a padlock thing that kept the door from opening fully but it was still odd?

  • 3/5 Eric 1 year ago on Google
Make sure you don't fall for any of the pricing tricks and book online instead of in person. The price here is already more than most other hostels. I had the unfortunate experience of just walking in and paying and was charged premium. It was blatantly obvious when on the second morning of my stay, one of the staff came and asked me how long I was staying to which I replied since I was under the impression that it was a casual talk. He then proceeded to get down to business to try and extend my stay to which I was actually looking to stay a bit longer since I had another week in the city. I told him the room number but he needed to know my exact "bed" number. He then went to his computer to check what I got charged and was confident that it was a good price to continue charging me for. That was my queue to get find another place ASAP! Also nothing special is in this place like there's no breakfast, kitchen, pool, and the AC was never on during my time there. James is a good guy though but not sure if he fits in with the others reluctantly or if that's his trick, then he has me fooled haha

Firstly we went too the hostel too book the Ha Giang Loop as we had friends staying there, we paid like 400 euro or there abouts for that and we were supposed too get a room upon returning after the Loop tour, we decided we would book a private room, when we arrived back we were unable to avail of this private room as they were full! We were left on the street at 3am to go get a hotel room at our own expense even though it was supposed to be in the tour. Others who arrived back after us were given a hotel too go stay in free of charge. However we then decided to take another chance on them and book Ha Long Bay and see if we could get a discount or upgrade anything, we had booked a 2 star cruise and they said they would upgrade us to a 5 star cruise i just had to pay a little extra (scam) in my eyes. This cruise was Amanda, it was not a 5 star cruise don't fall for it on there website or nothing it's a scam. Its 3 star at best. Shower hanging off the wall and toilet seat hanging off too. The activities aren't what there made out too be either. Overall I wouldn't stay or book at luxury backpackers, although James tried too help the damage had been done even after spending nearly 800 euro between tours and rooms in the hostel.

A good option. Stayed twice on separate occasions. Once we stayed in the family suite as we needed a room in a pinch. They were able to get us settled in the middle of the night when we didn't have other options, so that was nice. We also stayed in a standard double. Both rooms were probably a bit overpriced. The family suite was very nice, the double, not as much, kinda your standard southeast Asia room. No window, strange exposed plumbing in the bathroom....but gets the job done just fine. This place shines on service. Front desk speaks great English and is ready to help with anything. I was particularly grateful for their airport taxi. The rate was a flat fee of 350k dong. Prices to the airport can be easily 400-500k on the meter with a cab, so having a known, cheap rate even in heavy traffic was nice. Not to mention a nice car and door to door service. There is a bun cha spot just up the alley which was very delicious for 40k don't, don't miss that (it's just a side alley with some small tables that disappear after the lunch rush)

Luxury backpackers is a great hostel to stay at when in Hanoi. It’s close to all you may need whilst in Hanoi and they provided fantastic tours at a good price. Alex, Nguyen and James (staff) were always at hand to provide assistance with their local knowledge . I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when I’m Hanoi. Thank you for making my stay a pleasant one 🙂

I really recommend this hostel!! Everything is so comfortable, clean, convenient, and the staff are lovely and helpful. I stayed for almost a week but i wish i could have stayed longer !! The location is slightly further from the busy old town centre but i prefer this, the area is a short walk and a lot more chill. Circle k just round the corner

I can’t recommend this place enough! The rooms were the best hostel rooms I’ve ever stayed in, the bed space is big and the curtain makes it feel very private. The staff were very friendly and helped organise one of our trips to castaway, which I also recommend if you like to party! We ate there once and the food was good with massive portions! The laundry facilities were also excellent! The location was also great and near lots of restaurants, shops and attractions

  • 5/5 Naya B. 1 year ago on Google
Really lovely hostel, staff is super friendly and the bed layout out is good because you have privacy with the curtains. It has a staircase which I loved makes a difference to climbing a ladder. I booked 2 tours through the hostel very helpful and will help as much to give you a cheap price

  • 5/5 Ella B. 10 months ago on Google
We had a great stay at Luxury backpacker hostel, and ended up extending our stay two times. The layout of the bed in the dorms are so good! The bed itself is very large compared to other hostels that I’ve stayed in and have curtains, lots of hangers and shelving. The hostel is also very well situated in Hanois old quarters and close to a lot of sights! All of the staff members that we we were in contact with was very nice and attentive! They also helped us to arrange a transfer to our next stop in Vietnam, which was very appreciated. A special thank you to Alex for being very helpful during our stay! Overall very happy with our experience at Luxury Backpackers!
