We wanted to walk down the train line (which sounds weird) but were stopped by security. Then an employee came out from this cafe and guided us down. It’s a really cool location right on the train line. They have a schedule of the train times and they pass by right outside. They offer food but we just went for drinks. The area there is really rustic. Worth popping in if you’re passing.

Nicely decorated, renewed three-storey cafe with a view on the tracks from the balconies. Coconut coffee and egg coffee were as good as they looked. Staff speaks good English. If the railway guard doesn't want to let you through, tell him you are going to red train cafe and you will sit inside.

Great cafe on the train street! No worries about the guard on the road, just go through anyways. Ha was super friendly and fun to chat with (it's a family owned business and really everyone was lovely). We started with beers and just chilled, egg coffee is the best in Hanoi and they also have good cocktails. Fun couple of hours.

We had a fantastic time at The Red Train !! Just let the guard know you’re heading to The Red Train and they’ll let you straight through. The bar is super cute with prime seating to see the train pass - super cool experience. The cocktails are of a very good standard - best cocktail I had during my trip ! And if that wasn’t enough, the owner is super super friendly and offers lots of tips on Hanoi and lots of interesting info about the train (of course!) We really enjoyed our evening !! Thank you and see you next time !

Great for trainspotting in Hanoi! We had a lovely time, the drinks were delicious (smoothies) and the baguette was also tasty! It was an amazing experience to sit so close to the railwaystracks, yet we felt safe all the time.

Beautiful cafe right next to train track. The staff were extremely friendly and socialised with all the customers. Drinks were great. Highly recommend the fresh fruit yogurt.

Very friendly cafe and the food was really good, as you enter the train Street tell the guard you are heading to the red train cafe and he will look away and let you pass.

The atmosphere was good and staff were very friendly. We ordered drinks with rum but it tasted like vodka definitely not rum and I am intolerant to vodka so my partner had to drink them and I had to order another drink that was the only downside. Otherwise good.

We were making pictures of the railway close to a sign that said we could not walk into the alley along the railway. Then a young man approached us and invited us to drink something at red train hanoi, allowing us to walk into this alley. And it was great! We drank some beer and coke and enjoyed some snacks. The young man was very kind and social. He gave a lot of tips of what to see and eat in Hanoi. This place is also great to escape the loud noises of Hanoi :)

I would recommend the fried noodles with chicken, they are new to the menu!
