I do not write reviews which are negative. I had to make an exception with this one though. This by far is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. It is in DIRE need to refurbing. The owner said I would have a balcony room. The balcony was almost completely block off. The ceilings had water stains. The bathroom was disgusting. The toilet bowl wasn’t stable. The shower head and the sink were dirty and full of limescale. The place has this stale smell, it is evident it hasn’t seen a mop. How this place has been getting 3/4/5 stars is beyond me. But something tells me the reviews have been submitted by the owners. I cannot believe for a second that someone will rate this hotel that highly. Absolute dampener on the holiday after we have been staying in lovely places so far. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Everything was perfect. The staff is friendly and professional. They waited for me since I arrived late from Halong Bay. Yes, the hotel does need some upgrades. Hotel is very close to night Market and beer Street. There is a culture of sitting outside in the restaurant and drinking and eating with friends and family. So be ready for some noise but not like those hotel right in the middle of all thay. I booked a junior suite with the balcony for 4 nights as a solo traveler. There is an elevator which is hard to find in many hotels here. Overall a good hotel to stay with friends and family.

The neighborhood is cool, it's an easy walk to most places, but still quiet from the mess that is the Old Quarter party center. If you like a quiet, quiet is relative in Hanoi, and safe area, this would be a good choice. I stayed here twice. The rooms are quaint, but clean, and the staff is very helpful. Rooms can probably use a bit of refreshing, but this is an old French style building so you have to expect certain issues. I'd stay here again because of the helpful staff and close but quiet neighborhood.

Great location, clean room and super helpful staffs. I have been traveling a lot and this is my favorite hotel in Hanoi every time i go there either for travel or on my business. The staffs were excellent, very friendly and attentive, willing to help in all ways to make our holiday great. Yummy breakfast. Great restaurant on the top of the building. Comfortable and spacious rooms. We got a free early check in at 8:00 AM

This hotel is in a great location. The rooms are a good size and leave you with plenty of space. The floor and hotel design is classic and beautiful. The owner and staff are very kind and will help with any issues - one of them paid for our taxi out of his own money as we arrived late and didn’t have cash - we paid this back and it was a very kind gesture. The showers work well and some rooms have baths in which are good for relaxing. The price for the hotel is very reasonable and we would recommend this stay to everyone.

Becareful since covid. The hotel charge you, is close and transfert you to cheap hotel and don't want to refund the difference. Not recommanded

Rooms are very clean, it’s in a great location is easily accessible to all major tourist attractions, the staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything. Highly recommend staying here

The hotel is a bit old style but the room is big and very clean. The location is very good. It is just some steps to the centre Hoan Kiem lake and near the walking street. all staffs are very friendly and helpful. I will stay here again when I come back Ha noi. Thank you

My worst experience ever. A HUGE cockroach wake us up on the BED. Now is 2am and I’m writing this because I went down to ask the person in charge at night to change our room or help us killing it and 0 English and 0 intentions of helping. Also this morning we had no hot water for showering. Really I’m never writing reviews but this place deserves no one to visit again.

Second trip to Ha Noi with my friends and this hotel made bad impression to us. The way staff responsed to us was unacceptable when we got problem with our toilet, we asked for help but he said: " just 600.000 vnd, if you dont like, i will give back your money, then go away". What is that service? Never recommend to everyone who has plan to stay this bad hotel

At night, it gets noisy when the cars honk. I think the cleanliness could be better. I would really like to be able to flush the toilet properly too. Apart from that, love the location and service. The counter staff were very helpful.

This hotel may not the prettiest but most welcoming hotel in Hanoi in my experience. It is very well located as easy to access all the key touristic sites and interesting spots. The hotel is equipped with a elevator, cooling air-conditioning and spacious bathrooms. Additionally, there are plenty of local restaurants and shops offering nice food and also near the big market, Dong Xuen. The best part is the owner of the hotel and friendly staff. Mr.Tony is one of few good people that I met in Hanoi, which is not so friendly to foreigners. Overall this hotel was like an Oasis during my 8-day stay.

So... If you want "location location location". This is a great place, good price, close to everything in the old quarter. If you want to sleep... Well good luck. Rooms are not sound insulated, and since it is at a great center location, you will hear noise 24/7. And it gets really busy at around 5am.

All in all a great place. It needs a little bit of love but the owner and the staff are great. Always helpful and everytime in a good mood. The rooms need some renovation and the owner is working on improvements. The location is between the old town (5-10min and the great lake (10min). Would come again.

This hotel does well to earn 2 stars. The rooms smelt of cigarette smoke and it states in the elevator you will receive a fine if you smoke in the rooms, however the manager stated it was allowed. The room we were given had two dead crusty geckos on the door, poor things. I don’t know even want to know what was on the walls and on the head board. Im unaware how this hotel has earned such good reviews. This hotel needs major work doing to it.

It was ok. They didn't give me a key, only a card, then in the morning I realised that the lock is broken and I can't close it. But everything is very friendly. The guy said that I can come for breakfast but I slept till late and decided not to go. Later a girl said that because of Covid they don't have breakfasts:)) anyway, the mattress was great, everything clean. But the room 501 is super noisy.even the stuff on the windows doesn't help, I slept horrible and they didn't clean the room next day. Even trash bins. But they did a discount because they didn't have breakfast. WiFi is horrible too.

Nice place to stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. Telling you where and how to go most of the place and arrange a day tour if you need. Room is clean, near to many attraction spot, since it’s in town and many car pass by, a bit of noise will be expected.

Good rooms, great price, best location. Initially we got a room which looked different from the images. And also rooms with "city view" wasn't that great. But later, we got better rooms and they were pretty good.

The best hotel in Hanoi. Near to many tourist attractions such as train street, one pillar pagoda, temple of literature. Service is great. Host is very friendly and I suggest this hotel if someone are specially searching for a good hotel budget- friendly. Rooms are spacious. Very easy to find as it is on main road. Bus station is near by walkable. You get direct buses to and from airport. You feel safe as it is beside police station. Veg friendly cafés are nearby. You get great vegan options too in the surrounding. Multiple coffee shops to try and Very near to market place.

Bathroom with a view, comfy bed and croissants for breakfast. This place is great! The staff were very friendly as well. There is a great alley for street dining right a cross the road from the hotel. If you are coming by taxi or by motorbike be aware that Google maps ads on an extra 10 minute detour around the hotel to get you right out the front of hotel BUT you CAN be dropped off on the corner right nearby or sneak your motorbike through the footpath for 10metres. This will avoid the huge detour caused by the one-way streets in the vicinity of the hotel.

We arrived mid night 2 am from da nang and the lady who was in reception was very rude and while moving to the room she didn't even allowed us to move in elevator instead made us walk through the long wooden stair case..room was good with AC but found cockroach and chameleon, maybe it's because of the old structure design..Hot boiling kettle was not functioning with room service telephone too death.. washroom bath tub has long standing bearing glass with broken latch it might fall anytime soon when someone takes bath if slippery ..booked for 2 nights had to checked out after one night..there was not even single window,later on when checking out we had to quarrel with the staff at reception although paid all the dues on the night of arrival..but there was one guy with half bald he was gentle and know how to deal with guest.. chemekon

Good hotel for a good price. The room is a bit old but ok. There are a lot of plants and a pool with sunbeds and towels. The staff is super nice and helpful. They always smile and greet you. You can book tours to Angkor there with or without guide. Close to the center and night markets, restaurants.

A very bad hotel with so many mosquitoes there and the location is too crowded.

Lovely hotel and very courteous staff. The stay was very comfort and staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean and service was prompt. Masey and Kim was so friendly and made us feel home. Also the hotel is in the centre of all attractions in the city which is an advantage. highly recommened....

Too expensive. We had the room close to the reception and they kept talking out loud until midnight.

The good things: The host was kind The location was good Everything else: The windows faced inside the building (the corridor outside. A powercut caused the elevator to stop as we were heading for a day trip and the hotel didn't have the resources to open the door. The double bed was just two singles shoved together. The rooms were never cleaned and there was no turn down service. The host decided to use the morning (8am) to do renovations with ear-splitting hammering upstairs TLDR don't be deceived by the name.

Horrible service. Horrible staff. There was no hot water in the room and when we complained the manager asked us to check out at 11 in the night. He says he doesn't care if the room is empty. Mad manager and staff doesnt understand English. So can't talk to them too. Please do not book this hotel room in Hanoi unless you want to be kicked out in the middle of the night.

Stayed here for 3 nights, and the beds at this place were super comfortable. The best beds we had during our trip in Vietnam, by far! Breakfast was nice as well, with a cosy rooftop restaurant. Great and friendly reception as well, with good English!

I found this hotel to be run by an excellent team of very professional individuals. Although naturally the timing has taken a toll of this hotel also, I got the impression that everyone here will do everything possible to cater the guests as best as possible. Will definitely be top of my choices again in a future trip to the city.

I do not recommend this place, the rooms are much older than the photos and not very well maintained. I had a water leak from the roof, that was dripping...that I could not sleep and had to change room.
