Excellent, excellent day. Could not recommend more. It’s a long day, but we’ll worth it for the sights and the landscape. 2 hours on an AC van with a 20 minute stop at a tourist destination (don’t buy anything other than snacks here…), first up is some temples, then a 30-40 minute bike ride around a local village, a buffet lunch at a restaurant (wouldn’t call this necessarily local since it’s where all the tours stop, but it was fine food). Back on the van for a 1.5 hour boat ride around amazing landscape (King Kong filmed here!) (one note on the boat: halfway you will reach the turnaround point with boats filled with snacks, they will try to sell them to you then they will ask you to buy your boat rower food and you will say yes and they will rip you off so you could instead give the boat rower like 20.000 to buy their own snacks). Then end with a very sweaty but incredible hike up for a 360 view of the valley. Our tour guide was awesome. One of the best day trips we have done.

Our first trip was to Ninh Binh. The trip was really well organized, the places were beautiful. Our guide Hai was great and the decisions he made during the trip made everything almost perfect. Then we decided to extend our time in Hanoi by 1 day and take a second trip to Ha Long. The results once again met expectations. This time our guide Sunny was a great leader who gave his all with a big smile. I would highly recommend.

This company is genuine and worth the cost. I recommend this agency for all of your travel bookings in Vietnam (especially north Vietnam). Service is good, thier vehicles are well maintained, guides are humble & helpful. Do ask for special price when travelling/ booking in a big group. A special shoutout to Mr. Tony, he is the star of the company!

Gary was an excellent tour guide. Fluent in English and explained things well I did one less star because the ad for the tour is called Bai Dinh, Trang An, and Mua Cave which is misleading because they do not take you to Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest temple in area with cool statues. They will take you to Hoa Lua instead. I saw other reviews beforehand mentioning this but I ignored it at the time. It sounded like those people who really wanted to go had to pay to go off on their own at their own extra expense. Seems like the ad was intentionally misleading to get an advantage over other 1 day tours (it is probably too much to do Bai Dinh for one day tour and it needs to be done on a two day). Just don’t like the minor dishonesty. Otherwise, the content of the tour and tour guide was great other than that so therefore they get to retain their higher rating. I directly told them that as a Vietnamese American, Westerners prefer full honesty and it will be more beneficial in the long run to be just be upfront then create that kind of tension. The unique and actual highlight for this particular tour over other ones is their biking portion. It is a bit bumpy and undeveloped roads so a bit more sketchy in that sense but wear longer sleeved clothing and pick a good bike. No safety helmets and I kinda wished they did have since the bumpy roads are shared with motorbikes and cars but I was told only need for motor bikes. And at the time of this review it is not touristy and crowded yet. This unique biking location near their office that is not as known to other tourists yet and the views are just stunning and one of my favorite moments in Northern Vietnam . Other tours seemingly have you bike through less scenic areas with way more crowds.

I think it's extremely important to give honest reviews as foreign travelers. So often reviews are slanted based out of privileged guilt. Or based on a business offering a discount for reviews. Based on the aforementioned, here's my experience with Asian Discovery Travel (Tours.) I started communicating with Tony while still in the US. We spent a couple of weeks tweaking plans (6 weeks of travel throughout SEA) I sent a few corrections/additions/subtractions. Depending on the info being communicated, we went back and forth thru email and WhatsApp. At some point Tony asked for a hefty deposit. I was not comfortable at all, sending that kind of money in a wire transfer (no secure cc payment was available.) We agreed that I would pay in full upon arrival. Driver was waiting at the airport however, AC wasn't on and water wasn't available (as was included in all transfer accommodations.) After waiting almost 2hrs for luggage, we were exhausted. Instead of heading to our hotel, we headed straight to Tony's office. Therein I expected to pay in full for all plans and be on my way. Instead, I had to go through the itinerary and point out to Tony that there were SEVERAL errors. One major one was a food tour for the day of arrival. I had communicated weeks ago that I didn't think that was a good idea, so close to arriving. Somehow this was one of the many things that Tony still showed as active on our itinerary. We explained the error and that we were exhausted and wanted to speed up the process so we could get to our hotel. It was at this point, the real Tony came out! It was an hour before the food tour and Tony said he couldn't cancel. I explained that it never should have been booked. He wanted us to pay anyway ($25USD/PP) We refused and ultimately settled on $5 each just to speed the process along. Naturally after this, we wanted nothing more to do with Tony or Asian Discovery Travel (Tours.) We told him to cancel everything and get us to our hotel (since that's what we had actually already paid for that day.) After some teeth pulling and being admonished for being "horrible Americans" (mind you we've been all over the world and have NEVER experienced this level of arrogance and ignorance.) When he realized I was dead serious about canceling absolutely everything, he tried walking it back. It was too late. Upon arriving to our hotel, I got busy working on new plans. In the end Tony did us a HUGE favor. EVERYTHING and I mean absolutely EVERYTHING we had planned with Tony and Asian Discovery was significantly higher in cost than it should have been. By ditching Asian Discovery Travel (Tours,) we saved HUNDREDS and got everything we paid for thru new vendors via our hotel. We lamented for some time as to whether to book accommodations for tours and such in advance. I can now say with certainty that waiting until you arrive, is the answer. And this is evidenced by the GINORMOUS deposit amounts Tony and Asian Discovery Travel (Tours) were requesting. There are lovely, reasonable, fair and kind people in Vietnam doing their very best. Seek them out by avoiding Tony and Asian Discovery Travel (Tours.)

We went to the Ninh Binh Tour: Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Mua Cave with our Tourguide Cường. Everything was well organized. They picked us up on time and the day was filled with diverse activities like cycling, hiking, enjoying the view by boat. So it never got bored. We really enjoyed the time with our Tour guide Cường. He was always caring, communicative and super informative, which we really appreciate. We definitely can recommend this agency.

Very bad experience as we booked a day tour via GetYourGuide From Hanoi: Tam Coc, Hoa Lu & Mua Caves Full-Day Trip. As soon as everyone was on the van, the guide informed us about a change (pretty big one) on the itinerary: Tam Coc hurbor was closed for maintenance (probably throughout August). No one said a thing as - at that point - we all had already paid the full amount of the tour. What annoyed us the most was that the tour operator didn't feel like giving us a choice in the matter. But, most importantly, I don't believe for a second the closure of the harbor was 7am news, so why couldn't they tell us when we booked? Apparently scamming is the way. Tam Coc was replaced with a Van Long boat trip and by doing a quick online research you'll see that there is no comparison (as opposed to the "beauty battle" Tam Coc and Trang An). The trip was just 45 minutes, only one cave, nothing really exciting, nature all around was of course amazing but you could literally see the highway from the boat! Also, no bike ride of Tam Coc whatsoever. After notifying GetYourGuide the tour operator was (we thought) kind enough to call us in their office to clarify the situation. After 20 minutes of what we felt like being the repetition of lame excuses they offered us 300K VND (10$, 5$ each) of refund. I mean, that wasn't even the point. We spent time to carefully select the most suitable tour (to us) and we basically did a completely different one. We wouldn't have booked this tour in the first place had we known! Other notes: After only an hour drive we stopped for 25 minutes on a useless shopping center, a real tourist trap and a complete WASTE of time. Lunch was terrible, cold, dry, really the worst. The group was indeed "small" with 13 people on the van (though, when I think of a small group I personally think about half that number). If I could give no stars I would.

Really amazing travel planner. Mr Tony is the go to man , he is always available and speaks good English which if u know is really needed in Vietnam . He planned our trip to Ninh bin and Sapa and made sure it was comfortable. There may be small issue here and there but one call to Tony and he would sort it , much to your ease . I would really suggest one should plan their trips through Asian discovery as they really what they want to do to improve customer experience.

The best tour company . It was actually one of the best agency's with brilliant information about every trip from Hanoi. The boss is super friendly and tries to make every trip as comfortable as possible for you. He even drove me with his scooter for not letting me walk to the bus station. I booked a tour to Ninh Binh and to Sapa. Even if "organized tours" are usually not my way of traveling I decided to take one because of my limited short time in Vietnam. The tour guides, the food and the surrounding were really nice and good organized without problems. I would definitely recommend this Agengy for your trip in Hanoi because the price and how they look after you is just great. The staff is sooo nice aswell - I loved the super friendly staff. The excursion is totally recommended. They picked us up on time in a very comfortable bus. The guide was very attentive and friendly and he involved us a lot when he explained the information to us. Excellent tour; guide was very friendly and always aware of all the group. Food was great. The tour is very well planned, to allow you to return at a good time while getting to know several places. The canoe ride was a bit long (1.5 hours), but overall great experience. Strongly recommend Tony to every one.

We had a great time on this trip. Our guide, Rosie was so friendly and knowledgeable! She honestly made the tour what it was. It’s quite touristy but once you’re riding your bike through rice fields and get out on your boat you don’t notice anyone else! It’s a long day so prepare yourself and make sure you rest up the night before! Climbing the steps up to the dragon statue is not for the faint of heart but the view makes it worth it!

My partner and I booked a tour to Sapa and Halong bay/cat ba island through Tony from Asian Discovery Travel. Both trips were absolutely wonderful and well worth the money. We did a 1 night stay in both Sapa and on Cat Ba Island though I would recommend a longer stay on the island. Tony was amazing at organising everything and was very easy to contact and quick to respond throughout our entire stay. I would definitely recommend Tony and the Asian Discovery Travel.

I highly recommend this agency! Me and my wife booked a 5-day tour from Hanoi to Sapa and Halong Bay and we enjoyed it very much. Mr Tony, the organiser of the tour, was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the whole trip. He was also available everytime we needed to reach him and spoke very good English, so we could always understand each other. The other tour guides during our trip were equally great. We had an amazing experience overall.

I booked the Ning Binh Tour with the company, which visited Tam Coc, Hoa Lu and Mia Caves, and it was excellent. The company also supported booking me my Ha Long Bay and SaPa trip when I was in Vietnam. The team were all extremely helpful to me, and were able to answer all my questions. All trips ran on time, with regular updates. Highly recommend using the company when travelling in Vietnam. Thank for all your help!

If you want to find a tour in Vietnam please and please don’t buy from this shop! As a starter, they will rip u off for around 10usd for the same trip as compared to klook and other sites. Unpleasant experience with the salesperson who keep pushing customers around, just simply changing package, not being honest about the charges. They don’t even mention about the extra charges paying through credit cards! which we would have pay by cash if we knew.(around 75k vnd) They have a way of a ripping off foreigners using currency exchange (usd to vnd). Just please, please avoid this shop at all cost!!!!
