Awful. Dirty. Horrible, horrible, horrible service, and even worse food. Takes 20 minutes to get a drink, even longer to get a menu. I've never seen anything like it in the food industry. How this place is still open is beyond me. I've tried it numerous times hoping it was just a bad day, nope... It's just a bar restaurant/bar. It's all frozen reheat garbage. You're better off getting gas station food. At least from there your won't wake up with food poisoning like I did.

I wish I could give a better review. Sit down to order, ordered food and beer. Beer never arrived. Beer apparently was in middle of a keg change...ordered another beer... that beer took 10 min to arrive only after talking with an incompetent manager. Manager heard the complaint, asked what we wanted to do.... no sir, it should have been "here is how I am going to make it right". Waitress seemed new and apologetic. Overcharged for 2 beers, only had 1. Gave us chili fries instead of loaded. Wont be back.

Needed some bar food and drinks. Place did the job. Grilled wings were pretty good. Bingo guy was pretty loud. All and all a good stop.

Our waitress padded our bill $60.... Got our receipt for $109, gave her our card and it came back charged for $169. We got the manager assuming it was an easy void and probably charged for the wrong table.... There were no other tables and the manager and waitress got in a loud, verbal argument about what she did at the POS 10 feet away from our table. It sounded as though this was not the first time this happened with this waitress. DEFINITELY would not recommend.

Always enjoy myself when I come here. Food is decent and so are the drinks. Bartenders are awesome and super nice. Wait staff could use some better training and not sit on phones at a different table while ignoring the fact they are at work. Tuesday night bingo is fun with no entry fee

Good food, lots of TVs showing games, they were playing bingo while I was there. Ate almost my whole plate, which is rare these days. Was served a juicy and tasty burger, cooked how I ordered it. Loved the Greek fries!

this place is way overpriced $10.99 for mozzarella sticks? Which I did not order. I was there to watch the bears pre-season game against Cleveland with a friend of mine. We both ordered the dollar special hamburger and hot dog. I ordered mine with the tater tots I also added cheese to my burger to make it a cheeseburger that was $6.99.. I would like to say that the cheeseburger and hot dog we're just playing bad I had to send the hot dog back because it wasn't cooked all the way through however it wasn't really that busy so I don't understand how you can't cook a freaking hot dog. The hamburger was just blah no seasoning very thin I understand it's a dollar but my goodness at least make it edible. There was no use in complaining I wasn't impressed with the cheeseburger or hot dog so how could I try to be impressed with anything else they had? The tater tots were good that was the only saving grace to this place. I'm not sure about the other food items however it is highly unlikely I will be going back

I have to say that the atmosphere was jumping and the entertainment was everywhere! The staff was very quick and pleasant, I would recommend this place to anyone. I think you will love the food as well, we had pizza and wings but it was great, not like bar pizza but effort went into making it.

For the price I would expect much better as food was just ok. Waitress seemed more interested in getting us out of there than anything else related to our experience

The place is good. The food is ok. The drinks are good. It just doesn't seem like a people friendly place. People don't really talk to each other. The atmosphere is dull. Even when the place is crowded, not one person says, "hello". Not sure if it's because I am brown? It's an ok place to go with your friends. The food is ok. Paid $16 for a prime rib sandwich that was more bread then meat! Really disappointed!

Not sure if a manager was there. Horrible food, hamburger was a bad frozen patty, horrible drinks, we had to send them back. Martinis without olives. Gin and tonic without limes. Waitress brought us the bill never asked if we wanted anything else and we were not ready to leave, her loss Both bartenders were on there phones most of the time. Both bartenders were eating behind the bar. Staff were at a table eating while apparently still working. Didn't seem like anyone was in charge. Not going back.

Great place to catch a fight or a game. Bartenders were pretty busy but somehow Victoria managed to make me feel like she's always ready to refill my glass. She was the best and we'll be back if only to be tended on by her. They have Rib special on Saturday and they are delicious. I definitely recommend beer nuggets. The portion was huge, plenty to share for everyone and the marinara was very tasty.

Menu was typical sports bar, but done well. Atmosphere was nice, I have to say. Clean, open, kind of a "bright" bar, not dark and dingy (those have their own appeal sometimes). Food was good, good deals, service was great. This place did right in my book 👍

Ordered a pizza with green peppers and sausage and the peppers looked like they weren't even chopped up. They were left in big chunks and they must have drenched them in water before putting them on the pizza because you could practically taste the water while eating the pizza. Also had a bad after taste, don't know if it was the sauce or what and the crust tasted very doughy. Also Ordered fries with it and they were cold. Don't ever order pizza here, just stick to the burgers.

Our server was super friendly. Got the gyro special and it tasted great.

Football season, we love football! I prefer the comfort of my home, however we were traveling and.Rookies was a.great place to enjoy the games. The food was fresh and hot and the service was good too!

Service was good. $4 for a Coors light bottle. Had spare ribs and chicken w/ onion rings dinner ($20 ).very good. Worth the stretch. Parking is tight. Get there early.

Not a single employee in the whole building was competent enough to change the TV stations to show basketball. Out of 14 games, they managed to show one singular game within the two hours I was there. Was told the manager would arrive at 6, as they usually control the TVs… I left at 7:30 when I saw all the servers huddled up puffing their vapes, I realized the manager was never arriving. Whoever runs this Roselle location needs to take a visit to Rookies in Elgin and shadow the guy managing that place. Or Rookies needs to have stricter franchise compliance. I will say the gyro was good though.

Rookies was a good environment. It was a tad loud to be there with family, but that’s understandable, as it was the Chiefs vs. Bangles AFC Championship game. When we sat down, the server was very distracted with other tables, but the service turned around quickly. We put our food in, and it came out very quickly as well, which we were happy about. I recommend Rookies as a good spot to grab a few beers and some bar food to watch sports.

There was a nice beer selection. The boneless wings were good. There was plenty of sauce on them, and they were still crunchy. We were able to be seated right away, so that made the experience better.

I had THE BEST chicken & waffles ONE time…been chasing the dragon ever since. You need to change your oil. It’s disgusting. The chicken is greasy AF and tastes burnt. That’s quite a feat to pull off! Had to finish my sweet potato fries in my oven because they were floppy and crunchy (aka raw). Sadly, you’re living up to your name tonight (rookies). Get it together!!

I normally love the food but when I ordered it through door dash the food showed up and I got a basket of onion rings and when it came to my house I had 4 onion rings for $6.00.... normally when you eat there you get a good amount. Very disappointing, I ordered it as a side for dinner and now I have to go out and actually get sides.

What is it about sports bars where the servers don’t know anything about beer - and they admit it? The beer selection is ok. We’re beer snobs and taps of Bud, Coors, etc are not that impressive. I mean how much better can that garbage be on tap? There were a few IPAs on tap plus some others I don’t recall. With that said, we’ve eaten here three times. I like the bar area. We sat in a booth once and I wouldn’t recommend it - the bench seats are low and some are pretty worn. I had the gyros most recently. It was great. I did not get the gyros plate, which is just supposed to be more of the same. The regular size was good. We also had the bacon club and there was nothing wrong with it. Can’t rave too much about a club sandwich. I’ve been happy with all the meals. Servers have been pretty good except for not knowing anything about beer. The atmosphere is great. Lots of TVs. Two adults; two beers and two meals - $55.

It's nice to find a place that's consistently good with service and food. Prices are reasonable as well. We've eaten here maybe two dozen times. Not a big fan of the replacement crinkle fries but I love the free popcorn.

It's a good thing they have large TVs and loud music so it distracts you from the quality of the food. I probably would have had something more appetizing from Burger King for about 8 bucks cheaper. The patty would have at least been twice as thick. And that's sad. For $20 burger. I mean what are they doing? Trying to cut corners on their food cost to such a degree that I'm paying for the couple ounces of beef. Absolutely! If I was a more social person it probably would be a fun place. But definitely don't go there for the food.

Always a dependable restaurant for a last minute friend and/or family get together. Plenty of TV's with plenty of angles so everyone has a good spot. The inside is deep so there is plenty of seating if one is not looking to sit at the bar. Plus it has long tables as a sort-of annex bar top. It's a clean restaurant with friendly employees.

Bartender didn't provide any info on specials. Had to Google it on phone because she was hanging in the opposite corner of bar. Ribs were on special. They were served luke warm. Bartender waited until we were almost done to yell down the bar and ask if everything was ok. Not very attentive when drinks got low.

Staff was great. All staff wore a mask, and most people wore them when they weren't eating or drinking. The only bad thing is, I got heartburn from the pizza.

Great experience. Server was very attentive and made sure our drinks and food were up to par and refreshed. Prices were good for the value. I had their pork schnitzel special and was surprised how big it was. Lots of tv screens to watch your favorite teams or sports. Very accommodating overall. Would go back

I am the Hard Rock Critic. Stopped in for some bonless wings. I really enjoy the mango habanero, hot yet tasty. Enjoyed there pizza special and some drinks. Service was great they where attentive even as the bar started filling up and getting busy the bartenders still made it a point to stop by and make sure i was good on my drinks. Had a great experence and i will definitely be back for some more wings. Good job guy keep up the good service and quality food. See you soon.

Love the ultimate grilled cheese! This is the nicest Rookie’s I have been to. The interior was well lit and wasn’t deafeningly loud. The food here is great and the deals on burgers make it an easy place to take people, even though I don’t like burgers. The grilled cheese is great. They also have a decent strawberry shake!

Bad COVID-19 respect

We came here for date night today. The night started off well, but ended up bad overall. The security guard kicked out a customer who was a little over the limit, but wasn't being rude or disrespectful towards anyone. He kept the door open while he screamed at the customer to leave. My husband made a comment about the cold breeze and how rude the security guard was being. The bartender, Alyssa, stated if we made another comment we'd be kicked out too. We immediately finished our drinks and left. I felt totally disrespected.
