I stopped by to give this fish spot a try after being recommended by a cincinnati native friend of the family as the best for over 20yrs. I waited in line 45 mins. Somewhat worth the wait. Everything was hot & fresh. The clerk was very kind & helpful. It was a little pricy(I bought 4 meals@$50+). Though I enjoyed the freshness I thought the food was a bit overrated. The 3 fish selections they offer(cod, whiting,&perch)were all cooked in a captain D's style beer batter. The Cod was my favourite but the whiting & perch were average@best because I'm accustomed to a coarser cornmeal batter for the perch & whiting(&after eating each fish prepared in the same greasy batter,it can be a bit too much on one stomach..thank goodness for the white bread) However, The portions are great with 2 slices of bread, fries, pickled peppers & onions with jalapenos(not a fan.I'll take hot sauce instead) & tater sauce. I have had them again since then & would suggest giving them a try if in the cincinnati area.

What in Ohio is this gem?! Food is great and people are super nice! Best batter I have ever had, super light and crispy (and I did take out so it was chilling a bit there).

I LOVED Alabama Fishbar and would finish my week by ordering 2-3 cod dinners. Suddenly, they had closed for renovations and I was eagerly awaiting its completion. When they reopened, I was overjoyed and didn't mind waiting the 30-40 minutes I stood in line, in the freezing cold. However, when I arrived home and saw our cod fish pieces were the size of hush puppies...I've soon realized we had been JIPPED! The usual pieces of fish were a decent size for cod and had great flavor. Now, the cod fish pieces are about as small as nuggets, and they have the audacity to raise their prices by at least 3 dollars?? I did love Alabama Fishbar, and have been a customer for almost a decade. Unfortunately, there are too many other places offering good and tasty fish without extorting their customers. I won't be returning, and I encourage anyone/everyone, to find another fish restaurant.

Thee best fish Ive ever had no wonder ALABAMAS made it on the food network channel. It has never changed in flavor or quality. I travel 3hrs to get back to the great fish I know and love. Please never change or scimp on the portions. Hands down the BEST.

Always tasty. Great value. Parking can be rough, but it's worth it by far. Hope they never change. My favorite is the 5 piece whiting with peppers, onions, and fries.. You can't go wrong with any of their fish. They keep it simple, quality, and delicious.

Used to be great but after the renovation they changed the size of their fish (much smaller) and raised the price by $3. Paying more for less fish isn’t going to keep people coming back. Also, they use less seasoning on the peppers and onions so they taste very bland

The onion slaw is very good. The fish is good but has to be eaten right away. We ate a few pieces about 3 hours after receiving it and those pieces were really disgusting. We took the remainder of the fish home and warmed it in the oven, it was super greasy and not very good.

Mannnn! It’s been a month of Sundays last time I’ve had Alabama fish and I was not disappointed🥰. Heard they remodeled! Group of us at church decided to get some fish to have after our resurrection Sunday prep and our Reverend was so kind to drive from Finneytown to get it for us♥️ Finishing mines up at home…. 😋

Some of the best fried fish in town!!!! You'll come back for sure! The fries are very basic but the fish make up for it! Crunchy, tender its just great fish!

The fish and fries were cold and greasy. I understand that there’s long lines but the food still should be cooked fresh instead of sitting in the basket soaking up grease. Also slow down and make sure that the customers receive the condiments that they ask for. Very disappointed after standing in line for over 30 minutes.

It was okay, with the padamic they are only allowing (5) five people in at a time which is okay. But they are frying fish up in order to serve customers faster which in my case my meal was cold before I even got home normally it's still hot.... Hopefully things will get better as time goes on...

ABSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN THE BEST!! I have traveled from NYC to LA and every where in between and love fish but no place comes close to Alabama Fish Bar!!!! Even with the price increase I am still in love. If your upset it’s to high go get a lack luster Fish sandwich from a chain restaurant. The peppers are a nice addition!!!! We need a location in Northern Kentucky !!! I promise no one will think twice to pay for this amazing fish on our side of the river. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS FISH!!!’ ❤️❤️

I have loved this restaurant since the early 2000s. Try the cod dinner and make sure to get the peppers/onions. All orders are fresh and basically cooked to order...so super hot food and you're out the door. Try it and let me know if you agree.

Had a dr appt in Clifton today so was able to pick up some cod for lunch. So fresh and delicious 😋! Love the new walkup window. If you haven't been there in a while you need to go. By the way, they do take credit cards now.

Best fried fish in the city, jus don’t like ppl standing around harassing me for money or to buy them somethin to eat because I’m most likely spending my “live a little “ money for a fish dinner as it is.

Overall the food was ok. The service was fairly quick even though they were busy. It’s no dine in to go orders only and a pretty limited menu. I decided to get the whiting a regular recommended it was just an average but 5 pieces for $12 is super affordable.

Fish is really good and affordable. It's a fast pace hurry up and buy kind of establishment. Don't ask any questions because you will get an abrupt semi rude answer. Because they deal with a tough crowd. Just order your fish move to the waiting area listen up for your number, get your food and leave. Enjoy.

This place used to be so good, but you don't get to choose anything anymore, and the 2 behind the counter attitude sucks. I will think twice before I make the long trip from home. Sometimes, change isn't for the better. Just my opinion 🤷

Just had an early dinner at Alabama’s Fish Bar. My wife and I had the Cod dinners. Sometimes it can be a hit or miss here, but today the food was excellent. Portion size was also larger than usual. We will be back. Ps- Parking isn’t the best.

My husband and I went yesterday! First I noticed I didn't have to complain about the smell in our truck because all I could smell was batter! We got home, he started eating and spit it out! He said it tasted like paper towels so we went on to inspect! That was NOT fish... that was NOT cod! I'm hoping I can post the video I made! I wouldn't advisey worst enemy to eat at this restaurant! Since when does fish NOT smell or taste like fish ... ESPECIALLY when it comes from Alabama fish 🤦🏾😭
