Beautiful ambience. Multi-level cafe/bar with lovely views. Perfect for outdoor seating. The food is good and they also have both regular and unique cocktails. Hookah is quite good here. Most importantly, can NOT miss the molten chocolate brownie milkshake! It's awesome! The staff is very polite and they know the menu very well and can guide you if you're undecided. The way to the cafe is also really nice with quirky wall art, a giant bottle of Sula (wine) and a lot of colours! Overall, I'm glad I came here and will surely visit again.

Got a chance to visit this hyped pub for the first time on a weekday evening. The only attractive part about this pub is the rooftop, however they have ac sitting space too. Personally I prefer pubs to be little spacious and welcoming and unfortunately this one falls short on both. The crammed and maze like sitting areas are a bit confusing and the sitting is really uncomfortable for the long haul. The cocktails are nice and well made, so is the food with really good quantity. I found the staff doesn't even greet you in a welcoming manner and mostly have no clue what's going on with services. For a pub just to survive on hype and rooftop sitting, I just wish them good luck, I personally would love to give this one a miss.

Nice place with great vibes and an awesome view of the City of Joy from the top. The staff is friendly and helpful. The menu is quite elaborate. We tried Grilled Chicken and Fish platter, Grilled Fish with lemon butter sauce, some draught beer and Cosmopolitan. The portions of everything are satisfying. The taste was quite good but not mind blowing. Hope to visit again and try other dishes.

Had a great experience! The best part I love about What's Up Cafe is their open seating areas. And they usually have a small band playing on weekends. There are 2 tables where you can dip your feet in water and enjoy your time. That's kinda nice too. The food is decent enough. But sometimes they run out of draught beer and you've gotta take pints which becomes kind of expensive when you want to gulp a lot. Parking is definitely an issue. You can no longer park on the main street. But probably you'll find ample space in the adjacent streets. The view of Kolkata from the cafe is really good and something to cherish. The place is well decorated and the ambience is quite good. If you're not early to the place, you might just have to wait in queue for some time as the place gets filled up pretty fast on a weekend.

Constricted space across various levels of terraces 5th floor upwards, narrow staircase, slow lift, I dread how many would get trapped in case of a fire or any other calamity. Parking in the surrounding lanes in front of private old houses and buildings forces owner drivers feel as if they are committing a crime!

Visit this place for its ambience more than anything! Tried it's chicken Sizzler, it's not something that I would droll over but if I visit this place this would be purely due to its ambience. With live singers, it adds another charm to this place especially in a wintry evening. Food options are not pocket friendly. I generally don't post bad reviews since being a high rated reviewer I don't want to spoil the image of a place, but this the first time I am forced to write a negative review. When you enter this place there is a female receptionist who behaviour is extremely toxic. She literally behaved with me like as if she is an uneducated Street lady. Extremely poor choice of words, her attitude is like the Queen of England. Instead of greeting us warmly she showed a feeling of disgust as I had quite a few questions regarding the place. However there is a guy receptionist who at least co-operated. My strong advice would be give some ethical lessons to the female receptionist. That is not how you behave with a Customer. I don't want to review this place anymore as I am never going there again. Also advice all of you reading this review, in case you go to this place and she mis behaves and shows attitude to you, please report it to me and I will inform the Cafe Manager to take appropriate action. Upon saying this, the waiters made us comfortable, the ambience is decent, food is a bit overpriced but it's tasty. However my whole mood and experience got wasted by the behaviour we got at the entry reception. I wanted to exit, but i had guests with me so we decided to enter, else I would have never entered the place to begin with. Please educate your staff! Thats all I have to say for now.

There you will hear live music in the evening of good quality singer that's really beautiful.. The food is little bit overpriced but food was good. Absolutely loved the music, the drinks, the food and the ambience. They’ve got two different selections of AC seating, but the outdoor tables are breathtaking. The sunsets are marvellous to watch from there, and after dark they light these cute little vintage lamps which make for amazing photos. You can also smoke if you’re sitting outside and the staff is extremely helpful and provided us with matches. You CAN buy cigarettes from them, although they will cost more than the MRP. The food was a little bit more expensive than I would have liked, but tasted very very good. Same for the alcohol. However, considering the location and the amenities, it can’t be helped and is understandable. Going back there for sure. It was truly a great experience.

Food is good. Very tempting. Loved it. Service is a little slow, maybe the passage is the reason. But, considerable. The atmosphere is lively I must say, but... Too much crowdy, and loud music can be avoided as people loves to dine-in with sober calm musics. Rest, highly recommended. Went to the place twice now. Staff is very friendly and food is just wonderful. There is outdoor seating at three different levels and there is live music on weekends. Also, they had an offer going with 999 unlimited beer (domestic) or cocktails, around 1650 for domestic whiskeys, 2450 for premiums, 3300 (approx) for single malt - all of which I thought were very reasonable. Its a very sought for place in the weekends so reaching early is my first suggestion. The all kebab pizza was delicious.

The foods🍕🥪🍔, drinks🍻🥂 range is lit bit high- 2.5k-3k for 2/3 people.But overall the place is beautiful and mainly after the sunset the dim light system and the view from the rooftop is amazing. We have celebrate one of my friend's birthday, so my experience is too good and i am very much happy to enjoy some of hours of the evening. 😊

After so many days I finally went to the cafe. Really it was very nice and I was so much overwhelmed. Food was awesome, Soft drinks, hard drinks, hookah all were available with various flavours. Specially the chicken lasagna was so much good. People over there was so good and so well behaved. Environment was very nice and really enjoyed the whole time. The reason I am giving five star out of five star, is that I have spent a lot of money on food in many restaurants and cafes but never had an amazing experience like this one. Prices are on a bit higher side but not too expensive. We took a Non veg kebab platter which was 1200 bucks. It had Mutton , Chicken and Fish (Enough for 2), and a beer bucket of Tuborg which was of 1196. There were 5 beers all total. Staffs are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! So helpful even though the rush hour. beautiful ambience. one of the best roof top restaurants in calcutta. you can see the whole city from the middle of southern avenue and it's a breathtaking sight. coming to the food- the food is decent, their kaebabs and pizzas are great. it's a bit on the pricey side but the ambience and food is worth it. hookah and alcohol is available as well.

This casual dining restaurant is a very good place to hangout with friends. You'll enjoy every moment seating here. It has both indoors and rooftop seatings. Rooftop is amazing (3 levels of under the sky seating)! You have a clear view of the lake and greenary of southern avenue at the daytime. You can watch the Sun set. Lighting and live music make the atmosphere surreal. Plenty of tables at the rooftops. Food is quite good. Tables are well attended. Place is approx. 25% expensive than any decent restaurant. Singer was really good that day. P.S: Lift carries only 3 people+1help per trip.

Good food, good ambiance and service. Awesome place to cool and relax with friends. They serve hookah too! It's definitely not pricey here but the experience here is just different. Live singers really keep the spirits high and lively. There are a few sections available for seating, depending what you like. We loved the roof top section.

Too much Crowded

Amazing food and ambience of the place, it was a little warm on the terrace because of humidity and the fans placed were not enough to make you feel cool. The draught beer was great. Grilled mushroom and chicken tikka were great. And so was the margarita pizza.

There is scarcity of space and their behaviour is rude. It is overpriced as well. A hookah and 2 beers cost us about 1400. Not worth it.

Food quality is not good plus the seats shown in the photos for pramotion are limited. So if you are lucky you will get otherwise you have to adjust....atlast prices seems bit higher as compared with other Pub's.

They did not provide us the rooftop even after asking for so many times before entering. They said we can get a seat within 10-15 minutes. We waited for 45 minutes, ordered food but the chance never came. What's the point if you don't get to sit on the rooftop? The place we sat was no good than a dungeon. Food was equally bad. Who gets you french fries without dip? They had no clue and even after asking, they got us ketchup Sachet.

Our experience at "What's Up" was truly exceptional! Not only was the vegetarian meal I ordered absolutely delicious, but the presentation and flavors exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere. What made our visit even more enjoyable was that my daughter had a fantastic time playing pushball. She thoroughly enjoyed herself, and it's fantastic to see that the restaurant offers activities for kids. The combination of great food and a fun atmosphere made it a memorable family outing. Now about bar, it has many options compare to others but 50% items under Liquor menu will not be available plus minimum 400rs for 30ml liquor is too expensive. Music is 60% enjoyable. As per cost, it should have much more facilities. Beer served without mug, then I asked to get it. I can rate 2 out of 5.

Was there during Ashtami. This wasn’t my first time, and there is a very good reason why I keep coming back here. The view is breathtaking, the ambience and the service is top-notch. If you’re looking to chill, grab a few drinks and enjoy delicious food as well, this place would be hard to beat. Pricing is reasonable with decent portion size. Try and visit 6pm onwards, to avoid the heat outside and to enjoy outdoor patio seating and views. Highly recommended!

Probably the best rooftop cafe! Food tastes great! To get the table on the roof we had to wait almost 40minutes, it seems no one wants to leave the roof. Also, they have bands playing till 9:30 PM.

We went to this cafe quite a while back. Although had to wait in order to go to the sky lounging area, it was worth it somwhat. They have captured the essence of the sky lounging in that small area. Food was finger licking good. We ordered lemonade, chicken wings, hakka noodles and a brownie ice cream for dessert. It costed around 1500 for 2. Affordability is there. We were entertained with the live music in crisp December atmosphere, and the owner's good behaviour. Great place to hang. PS, the wait till we were allowed to sit in the sky lounge wasn't all that boring as India VS New Zealand match was going in live TV.
