This is such a fantastic home to visit! The gardens are gorgeous and so well maintained, and the house itself it just beautiful. Our guide was so knowledgeable and funny, and ready to answer questions. You get to see several rooms of the home, and the ones you can't see are explained to you. It has amazing architectural details, and the gardens are meticulously organized. It was also fascinating to learn so much about the family who owned the home and all the equitable and impactful charity work they did. This was such a gem of a spot to visit, and we spend time sitting in the chairs along the oak-lined walk, which was just stunning.

I am so glad I came across this wonderful place! We bought our tickets ahead of time online and tours run on the hour. We had a private tour since no one else was there. Bob was a great and informative guide. We enjoyed seeing all the rooms and learning about the family. The tour was the perfect length and quite interesting. Then we walked around on the grounds/gardens. Highly recommend.

What a lovely tour! Just took a tour of the house, but I will be back for the combination tour of the house and gardens. The history of this house was amazing. And to think that this was the second house erected here. I'm not sure where they moved the original house to, but I will Google. The tour guide was amazing and very informed. I am so glad to come and am considering the membership.

Such a beautiful property! We went on the first Sunday of the month, which is a day that locals’ admission is free. You’re able to bring a picnic as well!

We did both the house tour and the gardens. The house tour was exceptional. The young woman giving the tour knew so much about the house. She interjected many personal comments of interest. Everything is expertly maintained. The furnishings are beautiful. The gardens are also lovely. Because of the time of the year there weren't many flowers blooming but there were many grasses, streams and places to sit. We very much enjoyed our visit and hope to return in the spring when the flowers are blooming.

An absolute dream to escape to in the city. Had a lovely picnic, and the staff on site were kind enough to provide glasses and a little history of the house and gardens. 10/10

A nice place to visit. When the weather is cooler, it’d be really nice for a picnic too. We didn’t do the house tour this time, but we enjoyed the grounds.

Absolutely beautiful place! The grounds are very well maintained, the staff are all very friendly! The beverages and baked goods from the cafe were delicious (Allen was wonderful making mine and my friend's drinks for us). The tour through the home was great! Sharon, our tour guide was lovely and was incredibly knowledgable about the home and the property. The Longue Vue (pronounced Long View) House and Gardens is a hidden gem that is VERY worth visiting. The energy all around the property is peaceful, serene, and all around pleasant to say the least!

I'm so glad I decided to randomly book a self-guided garden tour. The grounds were gorgeous and there were many scenic places to sit and take in the natural beauty. The goldfish pond was my favorite spot. I recommend visiting if you love nature.

We had our small wedding ceremony with family, and it was perfect. Laren was very helpful. We loved it. The day was perfect. We would not have changed it for anything!

The gardens are beautiful. My wife and I went to take pictures and look at the amazing flowers. Everyone thought we were in Florida or California. They now want to visit.

What a gorgeous garden, home, and history! Do not come to Longue Vue just for the gardens as you'll miss out on the fascinating tour and story of the family who lived there, the way they cared for others, and the wildly techie systems for a home of those times. The giftshop is super sweet with so many cute things to take home and give as gifts.

Visited on 9/6/22 with a group of 9 woman. House was very nice and interesting and gardens were beautiful. Would love to come back in the spring when flowers were in bloom. Would give 5 stars but gentlemen tour guide seemed a bit rude and seemed put out when anyone asked a question. However, the Staff at the visitors office /gift shop and the little Cafe were very friendly, informative and polite. Would recommend for adults & families, although younger children may get bored.

Be in New Orleans my friend recommended me this beautiful place. That was very good choice to go for Longue Vue House & Gardens. Hous was so beautiful inside. The family who lived in this house left everything, so it is now a museum and you can see, watch and admire there exactly the same. Tour was very interesting with rich history. I do also enjoy amazing gardens what is good condition and well maintained. Everyone was so nice , very helpful and knowing history this house. Definitely I do recommend to see this place 👌 👌

Wow! What a gem. Did the self guided garden tour, then the house tour with a darling young guide. This was one of my favorite experiences in NOLA. Such history and beauty. Don't miss this.

We chose Longue Vue as the venue for our outdoor wedding ceremony in May, and it exceeded every expectation we had! The ceremony was outside on the lawn with the main house in the background, which was beautiful. The grounds were filled with flowers so we didn’t have to spend more money to decorate. The only small thing we had to consider was that the parking lot was a bit on the small side, so we recommended that our guests use rideshare services. However, the overall experience was amazing and we are so lucky to have found such a beautiful venue in New Orleans.

I highly suggest touring the house! The architecture is amazing, possibly one of a kind! The history is so interesting from the couple that built the house to the fossil floor in the gentleman's bathroom to the trees lining the original driveway and so much more. The gardens are so beautiful and unique with the property's history.

Longvue is a gorgeous old house. Once a private property now a public space . A free Sunday once a month for Louisiana residents. The gardens are really why you go. Luxuriant ...opulent...some manicured...some wild..some edible...and 😍old growth live oaks plenty of shady dreamy spots ..cooling fountains abound..

This is truly an amazing house and even more amazing gardens! The gardens were created from 1925 to 1950 under the guidance of a pioneer landscape architect, Ellen Shipman. The guided tour of the house was really outstanding! This estate may not be in the French Quarter but we'll worth going to see!

What a great place with a ton of historical influence on the city of New Orleans. Set aside half a day to visit this well cared for house and gardens. Staff was very friendly and there grounds were in great condition, especially considering a large hurricane past through the area 6 weeks prior. Unfortunately the main house was damaged The hurricane. They were still repairing and we are were unable to explore that portion of the property.

Highly recommend doing the combo tour of the house and gardens! My tour guide Beth was so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! The tour was presented in such a fun way , I really enjoyed it . The house is stunning and was well ahead of its time with technology! The Sterns were a incredibly generous and civic minded philanthropist family ! They made a huge impact on the city of New Orleans. The Gardens are magnificent! I loved the layout and all the water fountains! Great hidden gem in the city !

If you want that southern charm without compromise, I would recommend the house and garden tour of the Longue Vue House and Gardens. This historic property backs up to a country club but the immaculate detail and care of the house are the true stars. Sprawling oak trees welcome you to the house and bubbling fountains emphasis the serenity of the gardens. History is flush in this beautiful property.

Julia was an excellent tour guide! I enjoyed the tour of the home and gardens immensely. I think I'm now as much in love with camellias as Edith Sterne! The plants were all so mature and well tended, you could tell they've been nurtured and taken care of. It was great seeing an historical home built more recently. I appreciate that the Sterne's wanted to build a home in the local architectural styles so visitors could see it in a more preserved state, as the older homes in the area once were. Thank you so much for sharing this home with the public!

A beautiful experience walking through the garden in the spring and just looking at the property. We also did the house tour and was very interesting and beautiful. Would definitely recommend for anyone who appreciates history and big mansions.

Absolutely beautiful and 100% worth the ticket price. I’m looking forward to doing a House tour next time I’m in NOLA. The staff was so kind and helpful. The gardeners were happy to answer any and all questions regarding the fauna on the property. Such a great visit. Merci bien :)
