Tried Tinkabell restaurant for the first and possibly last time today. The reception from our waiter was great and so was the service in general. The menu is small with no prices and not particularly exciting. On being seated we were offered a food menu but no drinks menu. Service was fast as there was hardly any waiting between courses. We both ordered "Malawi shandy" for drinks and the chicken giblets starter. I enjoyed the starter as the giblets were tender and the sauce had just the right amount of heat. I could have done with some butter for the little bread slices. My chosen main was the peri peri chicken. Although grilled to perfection & succulent it was quite devoid of any flavour. The creamed spinach was great albeit a tad salty. My wife had the T-bone steak. She ordered it medium rare but was served rare. At least it wasn't well done (like most establishments cook it in Zimbabwe). At any rate, rare or medium rare, it was a tough piece of meat - maybe time to source from a different butcher (I recommend Billy's 😉). Her fries were also a little on the firm side & had a fishy taste. US$42 for 2 soft drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains, we'll not be going back.

Minor warning to those that visit this place in any occasion. 1) their chef’s are clearly construction workers who have no experience whatsoever. When i ordered the “greek salad” i was met with a plate filled with lettuce that had brown ends to attatched to it. Did y’all even wash it!?!!?? the salad was lacking any colour, two julienne slices of green bellpeppers, tomatoes that still had its ends attached on each slice (lazy much?) a bit of yellow peppers here and there, 2 olives that barely looked edible and horrible cuts of feta cheese (atleast i hope it was). If that’s what you call a greek salad then i might as well ask a group of rabid dogs to serve me a salad for starters. i was hopping the main would be a bit better cause i was staarving after not looking at that mess of a plate.. only to see an even bigger mess. Mama Zieta’s Plate” oh how good it looked. If Mama Zieta is actually out there then i know she ain’t eating y’all’s plate of food…The tuna salad?? i’m better off eating the fish in my tank at home, they seem more appetising. The chicken and calamari?? I think chicken inn offers better service. Oh lord the Prawns are not worth mentioning. I am shocked this place is still running so witchcraft to success must surely be a thing if such service has been tolerated and adored. Didn’t bother with desert, i wouldn’t want to see little ants peaking outta chocolate mousse cause that was very much a possibility in that “restaurant”

I had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant and it was a nightmare. The restaurant was disgustingly dirty, with grime everywhere. The plates, knives and glasses were so unclean that it made me wonder if they even bother to wash them. The food was equally disgusting, cold and stale. I had to wait nearly an hour to receive my order, only to be served with cold, unappetizing food. To top it all off, the owner's teenage son was present and he was being incredibly rude to many customers. He looked high on weed and didn't seem to care about the state of the restaurant or the quality of the food. And as if all of this wasn't enough, the prices were outrageous for the low quality of the food and service. Stay away from this place if you value your health and sanity.

First time at this new venue in Ballantyne Park shopping centre. Great welcome, super staff attention. Still some renovations under way but altogether good visually. Thought the lighting a little bright in the main bar room, but that was my personal opinion. Food was good and plentiful and the wait was not long. There is a bar area, then through to a dining area, then through this to yet another back Monkey bar area, and they have a small private room for roughly 12 people at the back as well. So lots of space for different functions. Will go back

Went there as a group we enjoyed their food, service and atmosphere.

We were recommended to bring our visiting family members from Mexico to a nice Sunday afternoon lunch. However, what we encountered was a very sad experience. 1. The service was very poor and didn't have any trace of customer care in it. There was no flexibility for minor issues. 2. The food was generally good, but some of our plates had flies baked in the food, and the restaurant wasn't proactive in addressing the issue. 3. The place is nicely decorated and is appealing. However, having a very loud and nightclub noise for music during a nice Sunday afternoon wasn't a good idea. While our table had many people, and we constituted the majority of the customers at the restaurant, our effort to communicate with the manager to bring the noise down proved a very sad experience. The entire time we stayed at the restaurant, the manager went around to see the customers except our big table. It was clear what was going on. We found it hard to believe that we ended up being treated like this.

The service is bad bad bad bad …. The guy who saved us forgot about us we sat with dirty dishes for an hour and I never got a refill of my drink for that hour.. I even told the guy I want rare and I got a well done mxm I would never recommend it to anyone ever the worst

The curried rice was so horrible will never ever advice someone to order from ther how can u have curried rice like over cooked chicken with peas no curry in rice but my combo was nice curried rice was for my husband

From my experiences at Tinkabell restaurant I think if you order the right things you might actually like their food like me for instances, I ordered Mussles, chicken and chips on top of that any soda you want. Get ready! If the chicken is raw maybe they where in a rush because I came in while no one was inside so hope you eat the same as me.

I am hurt by this restaurant, the make over does not compare to the service and quality of food. As someone who recently moved to the area I had high hopes but I've been let down. The waiters are nowhere near being enthusiastic about their job. I was greeted by staring eyes and I was only attended to 20mins later. The place had flies and you could easily over hear the restaurant gossip. Lastly the food matched the service from the onset. Lukewarm, bland and variety in drinks was lacking. I mean...... you guys can do better. Perhaps, it's time for a management make over as well.... the staff is a clear indication.

After some recent renovations, this spot has taken its aesthetic to the next level, making it a must-visit for any Instagram enthusiast seeking a great photo op. I had the pleasure of trying their mouth-watering half chicken and chips, and it was absolutely divine. The tenderness and flavour had me licking my fingers, easily one of the best chicken dishes I’ve had in Harare. They have a lovely selection of classic cocktails to complement your meal, my choice was the mojito, refreshing and perfect for a hot summer’s day (mixed by Rayaan the bartender). While I haven’t had the opportunity to sample their other dishes, I can definitely see myself returning.😌😋

For the 3rd time in a row our chicken was raw. The chef when we spoke to him admitted that he was self taught and not a qualified chef. Not acceptable for a restaurant to employ someone who serves inedible dishes.

We had our end of year company lunch at Tinkabell. We had planned meticulously beforehand with them about the menu we would select from, where we would be seated (a private enclosed verandah) and the guaranteed availability of one or two good menu items. Tinkabell management failed on all 3 of these important planning items. They set our table in the main restaurant area with no privacy for speeches, they handed out the full menu to everyone for food selection (which includes pricey seafood options) and the previously guaranteed menu items were not available! Very disappointed, food was ok, average but not memorable at all.

Lunch with colleagues. Friday fish special was great. So was the chicken kebab. But def a little on the pricey side.

We were group of 16 people and ordered half the menu. All of the dishes came undercooked. Service is average. Kitchen is slow. See food came with strong smell. The interior has been recently refreshed and is ok.

Always a great meal, never had a bad one there! Giblets, prawns and the chicken are devine! A must... Oh and their chocolate moose is incredible..

An absolute disaster. Bad food, bad service and bad hygiene. The first thing that hit me was the terrible smell. It was a mix of rotting seafood and something else that I couldn't quite place. The restaurant was infested with roaches. As soon as I left my car to enter the premises I saw rats running around. The owner is an incredibly rude woman and clearly doesn’t seem to care about the state of her restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant I was looked upon by what seems to be the owners son. He looked at me in a disgusting manner and didn’t lower his gaze. He shamefully asked for my Snapchat in a cocky manner and I told him I felt uncomfortable and had a boyfriend. However, he still insisted. I’ve never felt this uncomfortable in my life ever. Don't even get me started on the food - it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken was dry and overcooked, and the seafood which my friend ordered was stale and tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The drinks were watered down and were placed in dirty glasses. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not only did I feel uncomfortable but I felt sick from the god awful food.
