First time being at this venue. They have apparently expanded under a roofing outside to the right of the main building. It was packed and bustling, great atmosphere and the food being carried around looked really scrumptious. We were there mainly for late morning tea/breakfast so a lot of dishes being carried through were to cater for this time of day. They have a varied menu and all looks excellent. Would like to return and try out different dishes at different times - it was extremely busy!

Two vegetarian options. Horrible food. Get frozen meals before you come here. Desserts are mediocre.

The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday afternoon and as a result the service was slow. I had a filled sandwich 🥪 which was mediocre. The carrot cake was absolutely delicious and mire than made up for the sandwich. Pleasant location and nice atmosphere.

Across the street from Arundale Village. I had some time in between meetings and some work to do and Cafe Valdemeers seemed like the perfect spot to be. The staff was friendly (what Zimbabwean is not? :D ), I asked him to recommend me one of their most popular dishes so I went with the Full English Breakfast. He said, people usually really love the mushrooms. He was not wrong. They were seasoned so well! Yum! The place is lively, a lot of people around laughing and talking. Overall great vibe. The only downside for me is that there is not Wi-Fi (what!!?). I feel like this is important to know if you’re a visitor or have no local sim. I couldn’t work from there but I’d definitely go back for brunch!

Beware of cleanliness. Took a peek back into the kitchen and what I saw made me want to never come back again.

Had a delightful experience! I specifically went for the sugar free Chocolate mousse cake and it was so delicious so I will definitely be back for more. It was a guilt free treat for me and diabetic friendly. We also had the pleasure of being served by Nathan- such a welcoming and hard working young man! 10/10

The food selection is great! That pretty much sums it up. The only drawback in found is the service can be very very slow and it might take a while before you start eating and even waiting for a coffee! They can do better there but generally it’s a good shop. Good parking and a great ambiance or atmosphere. Also they don’t have a cafe WiFi 🤦🏾‍♂️

Cafe Valdemeers is a beautiful quaint place where one can relax and unwind after a long day at work. The service is impeccable and very prompt. There's really nothing I can fault. The fantastic thing about this place is that they also serve light meals and healthy options. The ambience is great and the lighting also serves to create a nice relaxed vibe. Two thumbs up from me!

Excellent service by waiter Munyaradzi. Quite accommodating. All covid protocols being observed. There is ample parking. The waiter knew his menu very well and advising portion sizes depending on hunger levels. Food presentation was on point and the taste was amazeballs. Reasonable portions as well quite value for money. Would recommend it for breakfast, lunch or dinner (closes at 5pm) and anything in between.

Went on a reasonably busy day. Great coffee and cake but not worth waiting 50 minutes to get it. Waiters were very slow and unresponsive. Even after talking to manager service did not improve. Sorry Jan.

Absolutely loved the caesar salad. Portions are really big. Freshly squeezed juices. Waiters efficient and friendly. Chocolate mousse cake divine. I could rate this 6 🌟 if I could. A little too crowded and busy for my liking, but the food was decent. I don't advice visiting on a Saturday unless you book in advance. I highly recommended for their confectionery.

We stopped in here for morning tea... We actually all had milkshakes that were fantastic, and the chocolate mousse cake was delicious. My daughter also had waffles with ice cream and chocolate sauce. She loved them. The only disappointment was that we had only discovered this cafe at the end of our stay in Zimbabwe. I would also like to thank our waiter for excellent service, my father in law has hearing aids and inside with echoes, it made it difficult for him to hear our conversation. We were relocated as soon as a table was available outside. I would highly recommend this cafe and it is very popular which is great to see.

Its a great place to wind down. The waffels were delicious! The schnitzel was great, loved every part of it. It was juicy, well seasoned and hot. However, the linguine was a bit oily and not the best we have had. There is nothing to take home about the lemonade or apple iced tea. The waiter maybe forgot about us… i dont know. But overally its a nice neat place. Would go back to try their cake.

Love to come here for lunch and or coffee. As a Belgian I can say the steak, fries and chocolate are as great as in Belgium! I always order a juice together with my coffee as it’s so refreshing and fresh.

The menu has expanded over the past year or two. Something for everyone. Reasonable prices. Combination of indoor and outdoor seating that works quite well. Good parking space at rear. One of the better options in the area.

So happy I found a good lemon cake place! And glad that they were open on a national holiday. Good ambience, the cashier was quite unfriendly but got the job done. Ice coffee was too sweet and quite disappointing.

Food is always great and cakes are mostly fresh. Coffee is not always up to standard and can be quite bitter sometime but otherwise a great place to go with friends for coffee and cake. The pricing is rather high so go with a comfortable budget in mind 😂😂

Nice environment, really clean, friendly staff and really good food...well cooked! Their almond and cheese cake are amazing! Would've been 5 star except for the overpriced extras... We were asked if we'd like sausage or bacon or Both, only to find (at the end of breakfast) that the bacon was charged as an extra. This would have been ok...a simple oversight if the bacon didn't cost a whopping ZW20 PER PLATE...so we went 40bucks over budget for bacon ALONE... Overpriced!.. And to only have this explained when settling the bill was disappointing.

Café Veldemeers is a very pleasant, quiet café, opposite the Arundel Village. Service by their staff is good, extremely helpful, even when asking for directions to their rest room. Food is great & prices are truly reasonable, well within people's reach. Easily a 4 star rating by me

For some reason the person acting as head waiter decided that my table mate and I were invisible. As we were meeting for the first time in an eon because of Covid-19, we bemusedly watched as he directed waitstaff to tables occupied long after our arrival and blatantly ignoring us. LOL! Eventually we asked a young gentleman passing by where the application forms for service were to be found. To his credit as soon as he realised that we had been ignored for more than 30 minutes, he not only apologised, he gave absolutely brilliant service. Attentive without being intrusive. We even got some extras from the kitchen to say sorry. Absolutely fantastic place for business meetings or catching up with friends. Great food at fair value.

Nice place to chill. Order took a bit long to come. When it finally arrived ,I enjoyed the talking, salad and chips. The chips or fries were yameee and fresh. Mosquitoes were a challenge. Maybe they should fumigate or get some repellent. I was bitten so was my friend.

I went for there in need of a meal and then their chocolate mousse cake on a Saturday about a week ago. The service was awful, the waiter l called promised to come back and never did,.. he kept running around serving other custormers and was clearly overwhelmed.. until l was just about to give up a leave until a gentleman; who appeared to be a chef came over to serve me because he had seen me there for a while sitting,. Of course the service was awful, he served me a hot choco w sugar added and on that particular day, the choc mousse wasnt as moist and dark as l had anticipated,. it was dry and l think it was one of those which ddnt come out well out of the oven. Im not going back to this place,. no thanks.

The food was excellent. I ordered a chicken schnitzel, carrot cake, and a smoothie. Food took a reasonable amount of time. Service was alright, the waiter was pretty busy but still gave us the attention we needed. I'll definitely drop by whenever I'm in Harare.

Went out for lunch and the ambiance of the place is great. We ordered quite a bit, we had the meat deluxe pizza, chicken pizza, linguine Alfredo, Malawi shandy and a couple freshly pressed juices. The food was good, an overall 8/10. Our waiter Kuda was absolutely the best, he was great at communicating with us and giving us alternative options and just overall good service. However, the reason for my 3/5 star review is definitely the kitchen service. Wow, it’s was so slow. I’m not sure if they were short staffed on chefs or what, but it was incredibly slow. We ordered a plate of fries that never even made it out of the kitchen the entire time that we were there. Other than that the food was delicious

Their cakes are fresh ,outstanding and delicious always . The chicken mayo sandwich was good and well presented .The service was a bit slow .whilst l appreciate the place was packed l literally had to run around looking for someone to serve us and even after a good ten minutes there was no waiter at our table .That was dissapointing . I hope to get better service next time .

So tried out Cafe Veldemeers yesterday. Had checked out their menu online before going there to see if they have vegan options other than the usual plain salad and chips. Was happy to find 2 options, Falafel bowl and Poke bowl. So i went there and ordered the falafel bowl as takeaway. Was served immediately and food came after 20mins. Was charged $1 for the takeaway container which i wasnt too happy about but oh well. I also ordered a dairy free snoothie and mixed berry was the only option on the menu sadly. Got charged 50c for container for the smoothie. When i got home, realised instead of roasted chickpeas, which i was looking forward too were missing and they replaced with hummus, which I've never really liked. There was no communication of this switch and i was disappointed. The falafels were dry but everything else (except the hummus) tasted ok and fresh. The whole bowl 6/10. The berry smoothie was yummy bt a bit too watery 8/10 Falafel bowl 10us incl container Mixed berry smoothie 5.50us incl container Environment 8/10 (the bathrooms were a bit dirty but the sitting area was top notch) Service 10/10 Having vegan options in their bakery section wldve been a huge plus but was happy i got a decent meal.

I ate the chicken mushroom and cheese pie, ot was tasty and the pastry was nice. Had a chocolate milkshake, wasn't quite how I remember it. Breakfast is morning only. Our waiter was very attentive.

HORRIBLE SERVICE !!! So l have frequented this place and it has always been alright, went there today for my sister's birthday. Food took close to an hour, food was cold, service was horrible waiter was looking to the side as he was serving. One of the staff members Natasha rolled her eyes at me when l enquired about the cake and singing for my sister. Needless to say noone sang for my sister, waiter came and dumped the cake on my table. Very very poor service !!!

Food is pretty okay but nothing outstanding. Pleasant environment. Willing staff but extremely under-trained translating to terrible service. Lots of wait staff hanging around chatting but completely ignoring guests. Leaving dirty tables uncleared and failing to remember even the simplest of requests. Seriously makes one wonder where the owners/ managers are.
