The hotel is good but they canceled our room for no reason 2 weeks before arrival. They sent us an email and we had to find an alternative hotel. The conference we are attending is happening at the hotel so we asked the manager why did they cancel our accommodation and send us cancellation mail and he said the room was not canceled and they were waiting for us. Then I showed him the cancelation mail from them and he said he was sorry and that they will investigate what happened. Anyway, when we received the cancellation we wrote them an email asking why are they canceling, we called the hotel but no response whatsover. I would be very careful when booking this hotel in Harare

Fine architecture, spacious and welcoming. It's a perfect place for having conferences, so many can go on at the exact same time. There's staff at each go to assist and majority of it very effusive and friendly. My experience at Harvest Gardens Restaurant was one of the best. I'll always call again.

The reception team was great. The restaurant was not attentive. You can see them chit chat during a busy service to the extent that they forget to serve clients. I have observed this more than twice during breakfast service.

One of the best if not the best Hotels to stay at in Harare, Zimbabwe. The service and hospitality by the hotel staff was fantastic. Wide variety of restaurants available at the restaurant. Activity centres at the hotel as well. All in all a good time.

Enjoyed the business breakfast meeting for a Men's fellowship event. Wonderful reception from the entrance to the rooms and conference rooms. Breakfast was served as a buffet breakfast. We enjoyed the meal from starter, main meal and dessert. Powerful presentation from the guest speaker on economic development and future prospects. Ambience and surroundings are nice done. The bathrooms are very nice and clean. I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone or organizations that needs to have one day meetings or seminars and workshops.

Was just parked there, in their parking area. The security is very friendly and proactive. Great lighting at night in the parking areas too, no need to worry about theft or mugging.

The hotel is in a run down state. For example in my room, air con not working, toolet seat fell off, bathroom shelf sloped so unusable. There is also no safe in the room. Expensive in my view.

It has been a pleasure to stay here. Only negative is the daily charge of $30/person for a breakfast buffet not even worth $15. Especially when you can go to the coffee shop and order an omelette with pancakes that easily could feed two people for $7. This is ridiculous. Also if you want laundry done it is overpriced so bring laundry soap sheets and do your own. Other than those two things, we have completely enjoyed our 18 day stay. Oh, FYI if you leave the building for more than 6 hours stop at the front desk to have your room key set up again or your door will not open and you will have to return to the front desk to have them do it.

Leave a lot to be desired to be honest. I guess it didn’t age well and not much is being done to bring it to the modern age. It’s not bad but you’d expect more from it at this point. The rooms are not bad I guess and the service is alright. Given the option I don’t stay there, there are now better places to stay in Harare for a short stay. Everything else is alright, the parking and conference centers. Another let down is the swimming pool! If you’re a big swimmer then don’t even bother to go have a look, let alone go down to swim.

I highly recommend the confectionary shop by Rainbow Towers. My wife loves their freshly baked items, worth the drive. They have plenty of free parking, environment perfect for a peaceful coffee and lunch with friends

Hotel is beautiful in a way of architecture, build by Yugoslavian company and project was made by Yugoslovenian architect. That was the reason why we choose this place as we are Europeans traveling through Zimbabwe. Rooms are not clean, all halls in hotel are not clean, looks like they dont vacuum floors often. Sheets in room are dirty. There is no towels, or only one towel even if room is double bed booked for two persons. This kind of things are not so bad, it can happen everywhere. But service and reception is not helpful at all. I asked for towels the same day we checked in, but didnt get them till next day at evening! Service is awful! At the reception they told is its ok they will bring them, but after 4 times asking in 2days, they told me to call certain number apparently house service to ask them to bring them?!?! What the hell reception is for if guests have to call and organise with house keeping section??? Ordering drinks if you want to seat next to pool is a procedure for its self!!! Again in bar they tell you to go to restaurant to order it, and then you go to restaurant to order and then in restaurant they send you back to a main bar- so you find your self running around not knowing where to order 2 coffees!!!! And then again in restaurant I explained all for 4 times and then they suddenly realised- yes its their duty to take order!! Management obviously dont know how to deal with job! There was only one guy at reception who was friendly and helpful, the others didnt looked or behaved that way at all! Breakfast is waaaay overpriced- 30dolars per persone!for not good food at all! When we decided not to take breakfast receptionist asked us very improperly- where are you going to eat?? Insted of that question- he (employed in hotel) could recommend that there is 10dolars breakfast in hotels bar which is next to reception?!?(still not good food- but worth of 10dolars but not 30dolars breakfast for persone) Dont expect good service, way out of standard!!!! All in all bad experience. Not recommend to stay here

The rooms provide a great view of the city. Staff are kind of surly and disinterested though. More interested in "rules and procedure" than customer experience. My room had a broken shower so that was sort of a pain. Food is decent though. I would go back just for the view... maybe they know that

The HICC venue is just amazing! Perfect venue for global functions and concerts. They should however try to have equipment to avoid hosts from outsourcing as it will just make things more complex. The accessibility, availability of accommodation and enough secure parking just makes the venue more unique!!

This is a hard one to review. Having been here years ago and coming now, its no longer the same. Sure its got its standard it keeps but the building is due for a makeover to return its flare. Overall lovely staff and customer service

I had to check in after missing a flight. It was a delight compared to my expectations from some previous reviews. The hotel is modern, clean and well laid out and very comfortable. The room was great with good WiFi and a few TV channels. The staff were helpful, and the guy who drove me to the airport was a delight - extremely personable and enthusiastic. The food in the cafe downstairs was OK. Not great but by no means awful. I'd very happily stay here again if ever I came back to Harare.

Rooms and fixings are a bit dated and tired. The staff are great however, for what we lack in other circles, you can never beat the African hospitality, no question there, full top marks

If you HAVE to stay in Harare this is probably the best place but it’s FAR from good! The whole place is run down and in need of maintenance and upgrades. The swimming pool standing empty is probably the most graphic example of this. Checkin was slow even though I was the only guest checking in. (Maybe there were no proper rooms available?) Room service only available if you made a prior room service deposit. The room itself was clean. The bed was king size with a single size duvet!? And what’s with the power outlet in the middle of the bed!? The aircon didn’t cool much but made plenty noise. It was competing with the bar fridge which wasn’t in the built in space designed for it. Toilet seat was broken and fell off when used. Bathroom door couldn’t open fully because the toilet was in the way…. Entrance door couldn’t lock and the closing mechanism was broken out of the frame. Phone was broken. Wifi a joke!

I think of most importance, the customer service can be greatly improved. The service is not impressive & there's no sense of urgency even when you order meals.... rooms & the interior, as for the exterior could do with a much-needed renovation

We are german delegates for the ICASA AIDS Conference 2023. The Hotel just canceled our suite and did not respond to our phone and mail nor offered any other comparable apartment. We are deeply in trouble now, as Harare is sold out and comparable rooms are much more expensive. This hotel is for business guest not trustable, performing in this way with business clients.

Very busy and renowned hotel in Harare. It was an interesting but great experience staying here for ~2 weeks. The hotel is right next to Zanu PF HQ and has great views of Harare downtown from the higher floors. I stayed here while the President's wife held a function and it was welcoming.

The pickup and drop off is handled by their sister company called heritage expedition and it’s chaotic. The hotel passed on the blame to the heritage expedition company by claiming that the hotel does not handle the transfers. I had some flight changes and sent mails to their sister company and CCed the hotel but none acknowledged the same. The day when I landed no one was there to pick me up matter of fact I called the hotel before taking the flight and they confirmed that the driver will be there. So when I landed I again called the hotel and this is when they have sent the driver; so I waited for an hour at the airport. I believe as a customer we should deal with the hotel only for the transfers and they do the arrangement internally, this what is being done in all other hotels where I have stayed, I don’t understand why this hotel is an exception. I have had the chance to exchange few words with the general manager and pass on my grievance to him, I hope that the hotel improves on this aspect.

So I booked into this hotel via a totally unknown booking website, not really knowing if my booking would actually pull thru, to the hotel. Well it did. I arrived before check in time, and whilst the receptionist mentioned it, she did not complain further, found my booking and gave me the keys ahead of time. Ok, maybe she gave me the only available room as I had specifically requested a nice view, but I got the back of the hotel with a view of the industrial site. That was not a happy moment. I also requested a feather pillow, but there was only hollow Fibre. The hotel is very clean, the lobby and the bar are very inviting, with a grand piano and lovely Christmas music piping in the back ground. My room is clean and well appointed, however..... Nothing but 1 bottle of water in the fridge... shampoo but no conditioner.... broken toilet roll holder AND a broken toilet seat, no soap dish in the shower, no waste plug in the basin. I do like the mirrored cupboard door, the nice hair dryer and the fact that they have installed a "South african" styled 3-pin plug. I do like that there is room service altho none of the menus in the hotel, have prices on show. So you have to ask, BEFORE you order, or don't complain! The staff at reception were friendly as one would expect of Zimbabwean people, as was the porter Douglas..... very colonial, in fact. I drove with a taxi, from the airport, thru the busy hussle and bustle streets of Harare, but my arrival at this hotel was stark in comparison. So peaceful, classical and old school. To top it, the rate includes breakfast, which I look forward to, and the rate was not a rush, at all. The biggest thing which upset me was the fact that I did not have hot water in my bathroom. On my first morning, I phoned for assistance, the technician arrived about an hour later, he managed to repair the toilet seat and toilet roll holder, quite nicely, however I experienced another cold shower on the second day. Al in all, a pleasant experience and I would recommend others to stay at this hotel.

Thank you for the Kombahari experience. We had an enjoyable evening. But spoilt by the resident photographer. We requested his services but the charges were exhorbitant and the negotiations and discussions became heated. This really spoilt our great evening. The hotel may need to offer some support inhouse training for third party service providers so that they too are aligned to quality service provision.

The place is quiet and serene with state of the art elevator system (though call buttons don't function on some floors) and rooms are fitted with nice furniture. The view of the city from above is heavenly. The staff is friendly and most of them assume you can speak Shona as long as you are dark skinned. Enjoyed my stay though

Amenities still in fair condition. I'd strongly encourage they review their F&B. Cous cous looked like sticky overcooked lumpy long grain rice and just overall not a great event buffet. Also servers should be trained, qualified personnel. I found myself educating 2 waiters on what a Malawi shandy was and what I meant but cabernet sauvignon.

I hate having to say this but has this place failed to keep up with modernisation. The lobby is now the only thing I can say is nice, but wow. It took me an hour 25mns to reserve a room while I was there with the staff at reception despite that I had spoken to someone on the phone earlier and they had said it was done. It took even longer to process the payment and some of these issues are not down to staff but infrastructure. The clocks at reception have been stopped for God knows how long. We didn't have water in the room and when we called at 2am for some water from room service(it was very hot), reception stated that there was no one available. They did eventually bring it though. The toilet was in a bad state, the storage doors were falling off and just so you don't think I'm bashing, photos attached below. They did change our room the 2nd day to the recently renovated rooms which were way better. Thank you though for the staff that made an effort to improve our stay but they really need to step up and catch up with with modern standard..what was ok then, isn't ok now.

The staff are great, very friendly, polite and always ready to help. But inside the hotel I didn’t feel that it’s 5-star hotel. Towels are dirty white colored, bed linen with a lot of different spots, chairs in the restaurant are dirty… I asked for the iron, when I get it, I was shocked, it was so dirty.. and I was planning to iron white clothes.. and finally I found an insect on the carpet near the bed😑

Some of the most unsanitary conditions I have ever seen. The food was awful, the beds were unclean. hairs found and smell of body odour, suspected bed had not been changed. 80% of staff were extremely rude I felt sorry for any staff member with a genuine care for guests, having went to talk about the abysmal service and food a staff member opened a door where I saw many plates and food placed on the floor!! Thankfully I found a close by restaurant with one of the best steaks I have ever experienced and friendly staff

This place is my worst hotel experience so far in all my travels. On my first couple days every time I walk in the lobby someone come to ask if I was a guest here until I had to complain to the manger they were simply profiling me if you asked me. On my first trip to the breakfast area I did not wear a mask (by accident) and was denied access to breakfast because I didn’t have time to return to my room to get one. Even after refusing room service on atleast 3 occasions throughout the day look for someone to come and knock on your door to simply check if someone is in the room. I was locked out of my room once because the keys didn’t work and was given a hard time by front desk to let me back in, the guy went as far as to say I may have to sleep outside tonight. Place does nit look bad but my stay was fr from pleasant!!!

The only "negative" critic I have is, that two elevators are too few for a five star hotel with 17 floors. I have to especially point out the very attentive service of all employees and again especially the young lady who served at breakfast (Linda I believe) has obviously a keen eye for the needs of the guests and goes out of her way to satisfy the clients (all within the normal boundaries of the profession). I've been in Hospitality for over thirty-five years and though I seldomly stay at five star hotels privately I might return here, should the need arise again.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable and the staff was amazing. The location is conveniently close to the CBD and major roads. However the property has aged and some areas needs some touch ups. The room toilet lid was broken and the toilet brush. But overall il recommend the hotel for any visitors coming to Zimbabwe.
