Everytime we went to Zimbabwe we stayed at the Holiday Inn but my last visit on the 14th of January l was disappointed when l had a call from reception from a staff called Nyasha and she informed me that l should check out immediately. I asked why and was informed that my IHG membership did not have the benefits of checking out late. I had requested to check out late as l was working. I informed her that most times we have stayed here with no problems and l had just ordered room service and wanted to finish my work but she inististed that l check out. I was about to start a work meeting and l had to sit in the car in order to have the meeting. I felt sad and upset to be treated in this way. The lack of respect, customer care and professionalism from this staff member was appauling. I asked for the complaints paperwork but l was told to speak to the manager which l could not as l had a work meeting that had already started. I felt the treatment l was given was not called for and this staff Nyasha should have been more professional than how she treated me. My other family members who were staying in other rooms where not informed to leave. But l was. I felt as if this was personal against me not sure why when l was just staying at the hotel and minding my own business working actually. IHG needs to ensure that their members and other customers are treated well, with respect and that staff are professionals at all times this could have been handled in a better way without being made to feel worse than a dog. Nyasha should be grateful she has a job as most people in Zimbabwe are struggling to get jobs.

A very pleasant stay - courteous and pleasant staff, clean rooms with attentive housekeeping service, and great food in the Vumba Restaurant. I enjoyed my one week stay, and will be back soon.

The only thing really going for this spot is the location I guess. I won’t take it away from them, the location is good, the service is great and the food is alright. However it starting to look a little dated I guess. It could use a little modernization. However everything else is fine. Well at least for the swimming pool, very disappointing for swimmers in general. If you’re a swimmer then don’t even go have a look

Great place. Really clean. Perhaps the only problem is that their television sets in rooms are old. I am sure as big as their parent company is, they could afford to purchase latest L.E.D TV sets. With better picture quality than what they have. Having these old faulty screens gives the impression that they are penny pinchers. Otherwise it is a good place to stay. I'll definitely keep visiting.

Hotel located close to town and food Court at the opposite end. Hotel has a good and reliable room service. Check out is at 10am. So that gives on a chance to rest. Breakfast is US$25 if you did not pay for bed and breakfast. Room alone is US$100 whilst bed and breakfast is US$120

This was my first night at the hotel, which thus far had been very good until tonight at the restaurant. The food was as requested. The menu had no prices, so I requested that associated costs be presented, and a schedule of prices was presented. I was told it would take 20 minutes for my food preparation...it took more than an hour, Service was extremely slow. When my bill came, the price listed for the wine was 25% more than the scheduled price. I talked to the waiter about the discrepancy, he said there was a price change, I indicated that I should have been informed, and asked to talk with the manager. The waiter, Leviticus, said he would inform the manager (he received a sizable tip, since I felt the situation was not his fault...big mistake), because he did not return, and seemingly did not inform the manager. 30+ minutes later, I asked the greeter to inform the manager. One hour later, the situation was still not resolved. This was one of the worst customer service situations I have ever encountered. Extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency (integrity), and extremely poor customer service with this particular Holiday Inn. An investigation is warranted. I have three more nights at the hotel and look forward to how they turn out. I will write a follow-up review, and hope the review has a different tune.

This hotel required an upgrade 10 years ago. Food is substandard in fact some of us became ill after eating meals and drinking the water provided which has a sticky tape on the lid, so not sure if indeed mineral water. Food is excessively expensive for a 3 Star establishment, the below chicken mayo sandwich meal was just under R300 and the dinner of 2 plates of buffet food, 2 waters and 2 glasses of wine was R1700. Service from restaurant desk, waiters were super slow. The Banqueting Manager didnt even bother to come and meet us during our event or when we checked in. Reception, Business centre, IT Staff, the gentleman who oversaw the staff in banqueting, as well as the lady in charge of service in the restaurant were lovely though, super friendly and helpful. Paid a tip to one of the waitresses and was only told afterwards that they dont receive tips so I essentially paid the hotel more than what my bill should have been. Definitely wont return, especially for business.

Good place to stay on a business trip. The rooms look tidy and clean but can do with some upgrade. Otherwise the friendly and attentive staff makes one feel at home

This place has not been maintained in years. This is my second stay at this hotel and the standard has dropped incredibly. The trunking hanging off the walls, i fixed the shower, room service dirty plates in the hallways for hours. Place has become typical rural african.

We had a birthday dinner celebration. The dinner was a buffet type , we had Derek Mpofu performing and lots of pictures taken. The staff made us feel at home and attended to our every need :)

The hotel is still among the best. Good quality service and a nice menu including African dishes on Thursdays. Conference facilities to cater for big and small groups alike are available. Proximity to shops and other services and amenities is commendable. One can walk into the CBD so no hassles of looking for transport. Thumbs up to Holiday Inn.

The service was great, the staff are friendly and we give them 10/10. They even moved our room when we asked. We had great drivers taking us up and down. Being from out of country I have few suggestions for all branches. Firstly put a cash ATM in your hotels, you'll see business grow. Then at this one have more info on what and where to go in Harare. Upgrade your Bar, with more modern features it will attract allot more tourists. Open up the bar at the pool. Other than that allot of potential and overall a good hotel.

This is a place to be if you have limited mobility and you just want to be at the heart of the city center. The rooms are clean and the rooms are great. After the renovations Holiday Inn has the modern fitments, the lowest standard rooms just look great.

Very good restaurant. Staff is exceptional. Check in and check out time are flexible. The evening of your stay, the room phone rings and you can hear the sweet voice of someone check-in if every thing is OK, open to any request or question you may have. Ageing bathroom furniture and equipment may need to be replaced.

Overall I would give this place 5 stars because I had a decent experience, Hotels are for sleeping which would make sense to have amenities available at night. The gym is open for a nice work out and it it makes perfect sense that the pool is closed at night to prevent noise I guess. The rooms are sound proof and the views are not all that from the windows but the location scores low because as soon as you drive out BOOM!!! It is a busy street and terrible traffic.

Service is spectacular! The rooms are far better than expected and beds are comfortable! A few things can be updated but the service by every department in this hotel makes up for that 1000%! Great stay and would and will be back!

Is located near the CBD so it is great for people visiting who want quick access to most business and government hubs. Good service. Meals are the standard Zimbabwe fare, although the good service from the restaurant staff elevates the dining experience. Not many options for vegetarians. Rooms are good, with the switch to the Dove range for toiletries being much appreciated. The guest relations department was excellent, with daily check-ins on customer satisfaction. the conferencing facilities are also fairly good.

I lives staying here. They still have to do more to catch up to South African or other international services but it's pretty great. The location is pretty amazing, there are a couple of food outlets surrounding the hotel and the views of the city sprawling are breath taking. The service could be upped a bit though, sometimes especially during breakfast, to get your coffee or tea was a hustle.

The location is very good, people are nice ,also the swimming pool area, but the rooms have this distinctive closure smell.

Never enjoyed my stay in a hotel than when I was in Holiday Inn Harare. They have state of the art rooms, they're quite friendly and their hospitality is at different level. Anytime I visit Harare, Holiday Inn is where I'll put up.

They offer good food esp their platter. I had to give them a 4 star coz of lack of other services like gym and car rentals.

Think of the 80's. Teak is famous in Zimbabwe. It is representative of our identity.. large, chunky air conditioners are a sign thay we have arrived and beautiful chairs (upholstered with a cloth whose name I do not know). It's a beautiful sight. Fast forward more than 25 years later, and nothing has upgraded, except perhaps the branding. Everything, like the economy of the country this hotel is located, is falling apart. Dirty arm rests on chairs, extremely rude security teams, and very loud conferences (with music and heavy traffic) downstairs. Appears to be used as a brothel by top players in the city. What a tragedy. Place need a major upgrade.

Great Friday night entertainment with their resident band Lelolanga. Great place to chill and unwind after a working week. I love it

Check in confused and inefficient. Good car parking. Room clean and beds comfortable but bathroom very small with ventilation not working. Bar service good and meals served in bar satisfactory though furniture not conducive to eating there. Breakfast standard fare.

It's okay ... staff are friendly and attentive. Food and accommodation is good, however rates are quite steep. There's also no atmosphere... just okay.
