My family and I stayed at York Lodge for two non-consecutive nights whilst flying in and out of Harare. York Lodge is a beautiful stay with attentive staff, comfy rooms and great food. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a haven to stay in whilst in the area and I will certainly stay here again when I'm back in Zim!

I had the privilege to stay at the York Lodge in Harare; even though this was my first time in Zimbabwe, the staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and stylish. I got to stay in 2 beautiful rooms as I had to change the room on the second week of my stay. The first room was so beautiful with modern styling; the bathtub and the shower were terrific. The second room had mosaic styling, the tiles in the bathroom were colorful, and the shower had mosaic walls. The bathtub had a vintage look which went well with the mosaic tiles. I was told that the rooms with the mosaic styling were the original rooms at the lodge. The food was terrific, and the place was full of trees and flowers; you woke up to birds chirping and a clear sky. If you love nature, this is an excellent place to stay on your next business or leisure trip in Harare. They have an outdoor gym to blow off some steam and two pools to relax after a long day. I will definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Harare.

York Lodge is a little bit of heaven in a beleaguered land. The owners, Les and Margot Wilde, have done the most excellent, and oft times difficult, job of maintaining a beautiful and welcoming place to stay over the past twenty years. I have spent the last two weeks in their care and cannot speak more highly of the hospitality, the gorgeous tropical gardens, the delicious meals, the endless cups of tea and biscuits, the relaxing atmosphere of beautiful rooms all maintained and supervised by Zimbabwean staff who are some of the most pleasant and hospitable people in the world. The difficulties of communications and the vagaries of electricity supply are problems that are typical of the times but they are felt less here than most places in the country thanks to the expertise and work of Les Wilde. I can fully recommend this wonderful haven.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful, safe, and leafy residential area in Harare. Staff were very attentive and kind to allow us to stay in our room free of charge for the whole day on the day of check out at no extra cost. I felt that this was offset by the higher price mark that comes with staying here, albeit a 3 star accommodation. One slight issue was the unpleasant smell in our room (7) which resembled smelly feet. Breakfast was good and the garden’s absolutely spectacular.

What a spectacular place- a hidden gem in Harare. It was a perfect place to spend our last day and night in Zimbabwe.

We had a dinner at the lodge and the food was absolutely excellent! The room was neat, modern and comfortable, with satelite tv. I will definitely visit again!

York Lodge is absolutely fantastic! Hospitality and food is exceptional. Our company representatives/delegates stay over often and have NEVER been disappointed. Absolutely worth every cent!

Sue and Richard are fantastic hosts; being the ever-inquisitive and statistically demanding tourists, they enthusiastically were at our disposal with all the answers and recommendations, all hours of the day. The food was scrumptious, the staff attention to details, and the landscape which painted brilliance of natural beauty to the entrances of our Shona and Ndebele residences, insured a stay worthy of everlasting memories. We will be back for certain; and we recommend all visitors to Harare, seriously consider the same venue - the home from home.

Torn between keeping this place a secret and letting everyone know that they should check out York Lodge in Harare. Stayed there for 6 nights last week as part of a bigger group, and it was just the BEST boutique hotel experience I have had in a long while. Family owned with high professional standards, every single member of staff determined to make you feel welcome, beautiful grounds, characterful bedrooms and communal spaces (the roaring fire in the living room was just wonderful), good food and great honesty bar. Go there, but don’t tell anyone else.

The Gardens and rooms are so beautiful and very well maintained. This was my first time in Zimbabwe and I am plesantly surprised that there is such and amazing place like this to stay.
