A must-visit site if you are in Harare. If you are touring without a guide you will need to have a good appreciation of Zimbabwean history. Pamphlets or booklets which provide details about the monument are not readily available so unguided tours can be very flat. Worth a visit non-the-less.

A great place to visit any day of the week, weekend and holiday but do avoid crowds so as to enjoy to the fullest. Close to the main entrance is a mini museum with a number of artifacts to see. The main heroes acre is about 1,5km away and its advisable to drive as the walk though scenic my leave your breathless..literally. the Graves are styled in a way that resembles the magazine of an Ak47. The historical site is suitable for both adults and kids and you do need to carry your id's and entrance fee.

A great place to visit in Zimbabwe. You will learn lots about the country's history and fight for independence. There is a useful museum with lots of artifacts nearby and the museum guide will explain you everything about the country's history. The National Heroes' Acre should be visited with great respect.

Terrible, at the entrance they make every foreign visitor pay 10€ entrance (at every tourist place in Harare btw.) — plain segregation. That's not how tourism should work.

The history here is fascinating, it was a sad place for me to visit but I learned a lot. As a history nerd, I spent the whole night researching and learning more about Zimbabwe's history after visiting Heroes Acre

A good place to learn the liberation war history between Zimbabwe and Britain. There is a war history museum stocked with photographs and there are well trained tour guides to explain the symbols and design of the shrine.

So sad. It’s deceptive from the outside as it looks like an inviting, educational place. The museum was less than sparse, just absolutely pathetic. I was told they’re changing exhibits so all the photos had no descriptions. I learned NOTHING and left completely disappointed. Because I was on foot, I didn’t walk 2km to the monuments which I read are nice plus the city views.

Awesome felt like a sacred place,a very old civilization, who traded all over the world, back in 1300 and,and took a very long time to build out of slabs of rocks.

$3 entrance fee for locals/residents, $10 for non-residents. The gallery has a good rotating exhibition on some aspects of the Zimbabwean struggle for independence but the quality is sometimes scant. Not well advertised and public access has only been granted recently. You have the option to request a guide or one can simply tour the grounds to see the shrine and the final resting place of liberation heroes

Mesmerising artworks. The area has nice woodland because it is protected. It is a mirror of how passive open spaces would be like were it not for massive deforestation that has taken place over the years due to settlement, urban farming and scouting for firewood. The museum guys are helpful.
