I'm an American in Harare. I made an appointment after around 4 months of living in Zim just to check it out. It's an incredibly massive building, quite possibly the largest embassy I've ever personally seen. You'll definitely get preferential treatment over the zimbo's there to apply for immigration, I was able to speak to embassy staff in a private air-conditioned room. The embassy staff were pretty helpful and seemed generally happy to see me. I'll now know who to contact in case of an emergency.

The visit to the embassy is one that I will remember for a long time, the staff is very professional and they are there to assist you at every stage from the minute you check in to the moment you check out, The place is well kept and tidy and they try to serve each person timely, there is even a play table for kids where they can sit while they wait for their parent or guardian to be interviewed. A great tip, due to the security nature of the building don't bring items like laptops ,they are not allowed into the building ,so you would have to find a alternative place to Keep it before you can enter the front door ☺️ don't forget your passport as well as all related documents.
