Beautiful national park with spectacular birding opportunities, depending on the time of year that you visit. One of the few places where you can self-drive, but I certainly wouldn't advise it, given the condition of roads, and the prolific wildlife there. No cell signals or internet anywhere, but with all that natural beauty around, you don't even miss it! Loved staying at Nyamatusi Camp, run by African Bush Camps!

You will understand why people talk about Mana Magic once you have been there. Really wild wilderness at its best. Stunning landscapes and endless photographic opportunities. The massive tree canopy with the game under it and the well known elephants standing on their hind legs to reach the highest branches makes for an unforgettable holiday. You can walk with the animals if you paid for that permit. You camp in between all the animals. Be careful and take it serious as it is not for sissies or chancetakers. Appreciate the wilderness and keep your distance.

The Mana Pools National Park is a beautiful area with lots of game when you go on safari notably the endangered wild dogs and elephants. There are many impala, lions and baboons as well as other antelope. You will find basic camps to luxury camps or if you prefer you can do a self drive and find accommodation in a campsite. There is a drought right now so it's very dry and some animals are suffering terribly. You will leave your heart here.

Absolutely breathtaking! This is one of the most beautiful places on earth; undisturbed nature in all of its glory. The bird life is extraordinary, the foliage is wonderful, but the wildlife is unparalleled! Beware of cheeky monkeys and baboons that will steal your things, especially fruit. You do have to be careful, especially if you're camping because there's no separation between the game reserve and the camp site, but the experience it creates is unbeatable!

This has been on our bucket list for years and finally managed to make a booking. Game excellent despite the drought. The 1st 30ks pretty rough going, but worth it.

Very few other people and a freedom to explore the park as you choose. An amazing experience with thousands of wildebeest. The bird life was unbelievable, we saw some rare species including many wattled crane. A very special place and a must visit for all!

Home to Africa's 2nd largest wildebeest migration which is at it's very best in November. With good protection the number of mammals is increasing well and blue wildebeest were present in the largest numbers at the last count. There are large numbers of tsessebe, lesser numbers of zebra and numerous red lechwe, roan antelope are returning and reedbuck are present. Lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog are also present but numbers are unverified. On night drives hyena are common and porcupine can be seen along with side striped jackals if youโ€™re lucky. Liuwa is ideally combined with Kasanka for the annual bat migration at the end of the dry season.

Mana Pools is possibly one of the last places in the wild where one can get close to animals in their own habitat. Not from a car window or a hotel room or through the binoculars, but walking past as you eat breakfast and skulking around your tent as you sleep. The game is used to people and very mild, so it's a game-viewing, bird-watching paradise. Facilites leave much to be desired, but if you go prepared, it is well worth the long trip. Fuel is a problem, so if you would like a shower, take some petrol for their pump. An electric, battery powered `fence' of some sort is advisable. Good torches. A good camera. Anti malarials and sunblock. Beware the monkeys - they are professional thieves and not afraid of people. Neither are the hyena. If an elephant strolls up to you while you are sitting in your deck chair, just sit still and dont move. Dont assume you can encroach into their space because they are encroaching into `yours'. Absolutely NO citrus fruit. The ellies will turn your trailer over to find it. I spent a week there and, apart from some challenges, absolutely loved the time.

The most beautiful place, an untainted Eden. Words cannot begin to describe how transcedant Mana Pools National Park is. It is one of Zimbabwe's national treasures which ensures an experience of a lifetime. Hotspot for wildlife, fishing, safaris and camping. There are lodges available for those who are less busy savvy but it is very difficult to get bookings due to the high demand. Ultimate Savannah adventure.

Liuwa Plain National Park is an approximately 1,390-square-mile (3,600 km2) national park in Zambia's Western Province.[1] "Liuwa" means "plain" in the local Lozi language,[2][3] and the plains originally served as a hunting ground for Lubosi Lewanika, the Litunga (king or paramount chief) of the Lozi people. The area was designated as a protected area by Lubosi Lewanika in the early 1880s, and as a national park in 1972, when Zambia's government took over management. The nonprofit conservation organization African Parks has managed Liuwa in partnership with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife and the Barotse Royal Establishment since 2003.

(Translated by Google) Huge flood plain. Especially recommended in November, when the great wildebeest migration begins. About 45,000 animals, but also about 1000 hyenas and some big cats are highlights of this park. A good 4x4 with high ground clearance and experience in deep sand driving are required for a visit.

Depending on the time of year you go it is exceptional. The game is amazing, we saw Eland, Boswell the elephant (along with other elephants), 4 species of bee-eaters (in one spot by the river), 8 buffalo, leopard among other wonderful sightings. I recommend it 100 % whether camping or staying at one of the various safari camps.

We loved Mana, but it is too expensive (for foreigners) for the bad maintenance. The baboon problem should be taken care of, or does one condone it (at the cost of visitors) so that the wives of the staff can earn an income by sleeping next to the tent they are supposed to protect? We never saw any of those 'guards' chase away a baboon that was not immediately threatening the tent they had to protect.

The accommodation at the Mana Pools National Parks chalets/lodge is way below standard, no maintenance, broken windows, broken toilets, no water, a real let down. One has to go to a private safari lodge for a better experience making it unaffordable for local tourists. Private concessions within in the Mana Pools park have minimized game and birding viewing opportunities. People staying in the Parks Boards accommodation are not allowed to enter these private areas anymore. Very sad, very limiting. It's really gone down hill and not worth the amount you have to pay to go there.

Didn't get to see much wildlife, but I did get to cross the pontoon and roam about for miles in the plain. Its eerily desolate, but interesting. Got stuck in the sand on the road to the park proper. Turned back after getting unstuck, lol. Saw a bunch of tourists boating off to the fishing spots... I think a visit to the fishing spots and Lion reserve would be epic... Next time...

True beauty of nature. The air is different. It was worth the 1,306km drive to and fro twice..., in 2017 and in 2019. I most certainly will go again till I've slept in every accommodation there is. #TRUTH. You don't necessarily look for game, it's always walking about close by. Highly recommended for 100% nature lovers.
