This is a hidden gem on the Oregon/California border with a fantastic sandy beach. We stayed in the Cabin this time. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. The king bed was so very comfy and had a great ocean view, and the gas fireplace kept the Cabin cozy. The kitchen is tiny and not convenient for cooking big meals. It is sufficient for breakfast and heating up leftovers. There is very little counter space. Still, it is equipped with a fullsize refrigerator and a 4 burner stove. We enjoyed the deck with its view of the surf and of the many hummingbirds in the garden. Any of the four rooms here are great. The Cabin can sleep 4 people in the two beds. The queen bed is in a separate bedroom. The beach has lots of agates and miles of open sand along Pelican Bay. You are just a short drive from Brookings, Smith River, and Crescent City, and many outdoor activities.

My wife and I spent a three day weekend in The Nest. It was heavily perfumed to try to cover up the overwhelming smell of fish. The refrigerator stench was so intense that we chose no to use it, as opening it brought a new wave of fish smell to the room. I was surprised that someone would rent a room that smelled this badly. It needed a good cleaning and airing out. Otherwise it was a nice place. Great location and a nice beachfront and view.

This place is just beautiful! Exquisite garden with a touch of Mexico brings instant relaxation. Tiles made with broken ceramics brighten the path to the ocean. Easy walk to the CA - OR border. Head south to the White Rock resort area for low tide viewing of starfish etc.

My husband and I found this place by chance while searching for a place that accepted pets on our quick, spontaneous honeymoon. And it was perfect. The manager (owner?) is the sweetest person, and went above and beyond for us and our pups. The grounds are stunning and the ocean is in our backyard. We stayed in the smallest room, the Nest, and it was so cozy and perfect. They even provide complimentary food (including the best cookies I've ever had)! If you are coming to Brookings, or anywhere close, stay here because it is a little slice of heaven.

Beautiful and close ocean views and beach access. We had the absolute best stay here at Casa Rubio. There isnโ€™t a unit of the four that doesnโ€™t have a great ocean view. We stayed in the Suite and the deck outside the unit really makes the experience extra nice for coffee in the morning and a front row view of the ocean. This place is truly a hidden gem. I would have a hard time staying anywhere else in this area after visiting here. We found the unit to be clean and the grounds are breathtaking. There are all the things you would expect to find in the unit for cooking, and this was helpful. They have the coolest little overgrown canopy path to the beach and a sweet dog named Coco on site. Thanks Hank and Marlene for sharing this little piece of heaven with us! We hope to be back again.

Located close/on the beach in Smith River, CA. There are just four units, we stayed in the Cabin while has two rooms, there is a king bed in the main room, there is a separate small room, just big enough for a queen bed, the kitchen is fully equipped, sitting area has a cute gas stove, recliner and sofa, there is a covered deck with chairs to watch the ocean waves, down the steps from the deck is a path to the beach. When we were there the waves were really good, we had a bit rain and wind. Everything was clean and neat, very pleased with our stay, will be back.

I loved staying here. It was quiet and quaint with a very good view of the beach. It is very close to the beach and beach access is very easy. I stayed in a two bedroom cabin with a small kitchen. It was clean and we were even provided with a small bowl of fruit, breakfast cookies and bottled water. I plan to stay here again soon.

Charming! And the view is spectacular. You won't be disappointed. Hosts are very nice. The rooms all have kitchens and each one is different.

This place was beautiful! My husband, myself and our 1 year old stayed in the Nest and it was great. We wish we would have stayed longer. We want to get a group together and rent all the rooms. It was the best part of our 15 day trip.

This place truly causes instant relaxation. Itโ€™s like homeโ€”but OH so much better! Clean, comfy, quiet and you can hear and see the waves from all 4 suites. Each one has its own deck. It is very private feelingโ€”a true oasis. Direct beach access is amazing. The only bad part is having to leave!

What an amazing place! We stayed in the suite, and it's stunning! Big kitchen, very clean, awesome ocean view from the deck. The landscaping and garden area makes you feel like you're in a tropical paradise. Hank and Marlene truly make you feel welcome. Such amazing people. 10/10. Definitely coming back and recommending to all our freinds and family. If you're wondering, yes you're right on the ocean.

Last minute vacation, I called over to Casa Rubio early afternoon for any availability for the evening. They had an opening for the suite and my significant other and myself booked the room. We drove over from Medford with no idea what to expect due to last minute stay over in this area. Our arrival has been so pleasant, Hank and Marlene has been such a pleasure communicating with. The moment walking into the suite, the view of the ocean is incredible with the amount of space to enjoy our stay. Each room was very comfortable to be in, clean and simple. The balcony has a nice table for 4 to play cards while enjoying the view of the ocean. So many continued great things to say about our stay. This location has our jaw dropping how amazing everything has been. We will be back.!
