The baked apple pancake was delicious. Hard to tell from photos but inside the pancake are loads of apples slices (like pie filling). I will eat here again when I'm in town. I would recommend The Original Pancake House if someone asked for a good place for breakfast/brunch in the area.

The food here is good but the people are heartless. On a short break from visiting my cousin in a nearby memory care unit, I came here. I’m from Tennessee. Upon learning there was a 30 minute wait, I got on the waitlist and also placed a take-out order. The manager said I could eat my order at a table if one opened up, rather than eating it in my car. When my order was ready, a table also opened up and I was buzzed. However, the take-out person refused to allow me to sit down and demanded I eat my order in my car. I know they’re busy, but I would have sat at a table for 10 minutes. Heartless.

Highly rated for good reason. Our brunch was awesome. Who knew a bacon lovers breakfast would come with 7 strips of bacon, 4 eggs, and 4 pancakes. The bacon was perfect. Oh, and the German treat with strawberries and bananas was quite the treat as well. We shared both meals and will be restarting our diets in a couple of days. It's 45 minutes away and well worth the drive.

Amazing!! When I say these pancakes were melting in my mouth. It was a delicious experience. To top off the food my waitress Amy was phenomenal. I wanted for nothing. She literally was on top of it all before I cld even ask. Great, warm personality she made everything even better.

This one of the the best breakfasts of my life, and that’s saying something. I love breakfast, and I’m picky and Southern. Fantastic coffee, perfect eggs, crispy bacon, perfect blueberry pancakes, and my family said their waffles were great too. To top it off, the interior decor is charming with the stained glass above the booths. The servers there are friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back because this meal is haunting me in the best way.

The sausage was pink and undercooked it was refired with the same thing when it was shown to the cook and sent back to me the same piece and still not fully cooked this was shown to the owner who just knocked off the price of the sausage that could have gotten me very sick. Good servers but very poor quality in prep for a high price with a owner who doesn't care about the quality of food his cooks put out. I recommend this place for zoo animals with vaccines to prevent foodborne illness, after three visits over 2 years to see if things got better they did not, it is way over priced for the garbage you get.

I've frequented this venue for over 30 years, and it's always been a pleasant physical experience... The wait staff is always nice, and the service is always outstanding! Most importantly, the food is very good, come early because the line of entry can get long, and often, who knows I might see you there 👍 😉

The food is delicious, a little pricey, but worth it! I have had the meat lovers omelet, pumpkin pancakes (try it before putting on syrup because I didn't need any syrup which is unusual for me!) And they made my eggs perfectly over medium, no runny whites. The bacon was cooked perfectly as well.

While I did not eat as I was servicing the restaurant I've just got to give praise to the management. I have serviced literally hundreds of restaurants over the years and it is very rare that a kitchen serving the community is as clean as here. Let alone how well maintained the appliances and general working areas are. Places like this are definitely the reason why I will still eat out in public anymore. Unfortunately this is far from the general standard but again praise, praise for Original Pancake House Grosse Point.

We're long time patrons of the Pancake House in Grosse Pointe, since the mid 1980s. In all that time, the quality of the food has remained consistently good - even through Covid. The pancakes are tender and the omelets are delicious! It is pricier than some other breakfast spots, but the serving sizes are generous so we always have enough leftover for breakfast at home the next day.

busy so there was a hour wait just to be seating. Servers was slower then usual but found out they were short staffed so they did really well getting things to customer and food coming out. Food was all very delicious waitres we had was nothing but wonderful . There was also another lady who was just running around feeling coffee and water and water she could for every table... only negative thing is the old lady at the door checking and seating people she was kinda rude not very friendly. Other then that great happy with the overall.

This is a great place to eat Saturday morning when you don't feel like cooking breakfast and want some pancakes. Pancakes with delicious. I ordered eggs soft not running this seems to be a hard task. Other than that everything else is decent probably should have just got an omelette.

The food was excellent. I ordered the French Toast, scrambled eggs with 1/2 cheddar cheese and 1/2 Swiss cheese, and the sausage links. The service was fast and the food was delicious. Definitely will be coming back. There is a wait time because their food is excellent so be mindful of that.

OMG their in house thick cut maple bacon was cooked to perfection!!! Their omelettes are huge and absolutely delicious. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Everything we ordered was great!!! The staff delivered excellent customer service!!! The food came out very fast and hot. We will be back in a couple days.

Been coming here since I was a kid and never disappointed. Fresh OJ, thick bacon, big apple, dutch baby, fluffy cheddar omelettes.. some of the best breakfast around. So good I've brought friends from Downriver here and they've drove all the way across the city just to come back again.

This restaurant was fantastic. It's hard to get into, it always seems busy no matter what time you go, but it is well worth the experience. I had the giant apple fritter and it was delicious. Their bacon is thick slice and flavored, and even the coffee and cream was a delight. You have got to give this place a try. I'm glad I did! I have friends in Detroit who rave about this place! So it's not just me!

Got the 4-egg omelet ,,. Meat lovers. Usually, I get Spinach and Tomato.. I ate about 25%. It was good, but I wasn't hungry, and missed my veggies. Saving the rest for Lunch & Dinner. I'll stir fry veggies as a side. Rye Bread Toast. Kim was our waitress (Friendly & Helpful.) Cousin ordered Potato Pancakes. Full plate of them. Looked good

The food was top tier and I haven’t been here in over 6 years. It was nice to see it’s still the same atmosphere of cool people and nice vibes.

The food is undeniably phenomenal here. They do such steady business that sometimes it's hard to time your visit right to get a table quickly, and sometimes the servers seem overwhelmed by tables once you do get seated. But as soon as the food hits the table, any late arriving coffee or other such small things can all be forgiven. Their pancakes are absolute perfection. Best French toast I've ever had.

Went on a Sunday at 1 so there was a wait. The line moved quickly. Our server was the best! I wish service was that good everywhere. I had the Big Apple and a side of bacon. Not the best choice for a diabetic lol. I took half home. Bacon was cooked exactly as ordered. Wait for food was long but our server kept the coffee and water coming and the place was packed. Food came out hot and delicious! I highly recommend even if you have to wait. It’s worth the wait.

Great atmosphere, flavor and service overall I had a nice brunch while in there. I would say the one thing which I didn't found as good was the omelettes, they looked waaay more to scrambled eggs than to an actual omelette... The flavor on the other hand, not complain at all 🤤

The food and service is consistent since the first time I dined in an original Pancake house over 30 years ago. My friend ate 2 orders of peach crepes then talked about all day how delicious is meal was and the server's attentiveness. Highly recommended😋

Everything is delicious on the breakfast menu I visited this place on the recommendation of my aunt and cousins on a visit to Detroit Michigan. The pancakes melt-in-your-mouth the syrup is like no syrup I've ever tasted before absolutely 😋. Delicious

If you haven’t been here, you are missing out. We bring our grandkids at least 1x a month, they love it as much as we do. The Dutch Baby is always one of our picks. The manager here is excellent and has been here for most of the time we’ve been coming, she always makes sure to say hello and ask how meal and service was, which is always delicious.

Recently went to this location for the first time since COVID and the food was horrible. I literally threw away my whole order. Pancakes were very thin, undercooked and disgusting. I was literally able to touch the pancakes and get batter on my hands. I would recommend going to the Southfield or Birmingham location. I’m not sure if they’re slacking because you have to order to-go do to the current shut down but it’s not worth it at all. Very disappointed in their service.

This is the first restaurant I've been to in durimg pandemic. They were clean, friendly, and the food and service were amazing. I had the western omelet and French toast. I believe our waitress' name was Karen, she was absolutely wondeful. She really made my mom's birthday special and my first time awesome. I also appreciated all her feedback and compliments on my pregnancy. Thanks for a great time!

Absolutely LOVE this place. This was my first time going and the experience was perfect from beginning to end. The food is very tasty and the service kind and prompt. Clean restroom and that to me speaks of the rest of the areas the public cannot see, I trust are clean as well.

I seriously like this place, I do, but they have now forgotten the sauce for my eggs Michael for the second time and the syrup for our pancakes. Also i find their website for ordering confusing. I called them to try and order over the phone, someone answered and refused to take my order, directing me to the site.

Recommended by my niece, first time visiting and my sister and I really enjoyed the food! Everything homemade, fresh and cooked to perfection...and to top that, we dined in on a Friday around 1:20, ordered and food came out in 10 minutes! We were out by 1:50 give or take. Our waitress was AMY, what a beautiful soul she is!! Very kind and she made us feel at home 😊. Oh and the establishment was very clean. Keep up the awesome work OPH!! You all rock🙂
