We give 5 star because in here, professional staff . We drove 1 hour there, we didn’t felt it was worth it. since it was raining. But we are very grateful for what we have received. It didn’t make us feel tired and from all the storms. We got so many knowledge for our first time taking care of these little bunnies species and how we have to take care of them here. Very nice staff, polite, great service. The things we didn’t thought right, they tried to help us to understand the right view. My children, are very happy and satisfied to get to take care and play with the bunnies. They always want to play with them! Every day and everywhere they will always want to play with them. Especially the little one here. The bunnies seem to be happy with their new home!

Place is terrible. All fish have clamped fins and are sick. Really disappointing. Fish abuse. Every tank has starving fish, empty stomachs sunken in. I’d be embarrassed

Awesome pet store. It was really cool how many animals are just out in the open in the store. The two turtles walking around were really cool to see up close.

My whole family enjoys coming here! Great staff, great atmosphere! Of course we always enjoy the free roaming tortoises,bunnies, parrot (he’s hilarious) our 7yr old has loved Arnold since the first time we visited he’s always talking about rescuing one just like him. #MissYouMaui

The employees are all very friendly, and very good at answering questions and helping you find what you're looking for. The animals are all so cute, my favorites are the Flemish Giant rabbits and the sugar gliders. The Flemish Giants are usually found roaming the store interacting with customers. They're very sweet, very large rabbits, if a little skittish. Generally speaking they'll let you hold some of the animals if you ask, and if any children involved are supervised by an adult. A wonderful experience for any animal lover.

My family had gotten many pets from Lous over the years, and overall the staff is amazing and so kind/interactive. The animals are cared for better than most pet shops I’ve seen, and they seem to breed in house for rodents—which is a huge benefit for people who don’t want to support breeding mills and or want more socially adjusted/hand tame animals. Most recently, I got my rats and mice from this store, and I simply adore them all so much, along their beautiful patterns. I also had to give up my snake around two months ago, and they’ve taken great care of her; even attaching the care sheet I wrote for her to the glass on her enclosure. But among all that, what I find most touching, is how this place handles issues when something goes wrong with one of their animals. They really care, and make efforts to ensure their customers are happy and critters are healthy. Overall a really ethical, engaging, and endearing place to get your future pets💕

I've been coming to Lou's my whole life, and I'll never buy a small animal anywhere else. I have a chinchilla (7 years old) and my brother recently adopted a crested gecko. Every single staff member is knowledgeable on all of the animals, their needs, and how to care for them. Lou's is about half an hour from me (by I-94) but it is WELL worth the drive. I've taken so many friends here, and they're always totally enchanted by the experience. Georgio is a delight. This is absolutely the best place to get a pet.

Young man at the counter was helpful and knowledgeable. Set up us first time buyers with all we needed for grandsons rabbit. Cage, food, bedding, and most important, initial acclimating rabbit to new home.

ANYONE IN THE METRO DETROIT AREA LOOKING FOR ANY TYPE OF ANIMAL NEEDS TO COME TO LOUS!!!!!!!!!! i just went to this absolutely incredible land of animals and i want to spend the rest of my life there, donnie the owner is an absolute legend, all the other staff were super helpful and friendly and caring people, we just got two little baby rats as first time buyers of rats and from lou’s, they are absolutely beautiful and soft, and they’re so friendly, donnie made sure the little babies had a better box than other pet stores give and generally took better care of the animals than i’ve ever seen before. donnie opened up a brand new cage that had just gotten shipped for us and showed it to us, he also got a cage out of the back he had been using in store as a budget option for us which was so incredibly nice of him i did drive 30 minutes to his incredible store but i loved every second of the experience. donnie you’re an absolutely incredible man, keep doing what you’re doing king 👑 p.s sorry about the bird, he climbed on me and started going to the iguana and wouldn’t come down😭

This is the best Pet Shop ever!! They always have wonderful and knowledgeable help. What a wonderful select of aquatic fish, reptiles and frogs. And quite a selection of furry friends. They have a great selection of feed for all types of pets.

Hands down the best petshop around. This is not just a pet store, it's a destination. The atmosphere is amazing with animals at every corner. The entire store is clean and tidy, the animals are exceptionally well taken care of, great selection of food, supplies, enclosures and the staff is not only knowledgeable, but they are friendly and talk to you, not at you. If you haven't been here yet, you need to get there soon!

Great shop! Very clean with a large variety of reptiles, birds and small mammals that all seem well cared for! You don't always get that in pet shops unfortunately. It's refreshing to see reptiles properly housed in clean enclosures. There are two large rabbits that roam the store that are very cool to pet and feed. Sometimes with these types of shops the animals they're trying to sell feel like a product and not something that needs to be cared for. I think if you by from this place you'll be buying healthy animals. Kudos to this shop!

Knowledgeable staff, wide variety of pets you can adopt, good prices and a well taken care of store. The four legged staff (the 2 giant rabbits)are friendly but a bit lazy, and the knowledgeable staff of the four legged variety(the tortoise) is bit on the slow side. Don't expect much to be accomplished quickly. All joking aside we love this place and the owner is super helpful. Could not recommend this place enough.

Love this place. They have a lot of great supplies for reptiles and amphibians. I’ve been getting my fruit fly cultures for my dart frogs from Lou’s for awhile now. Love seeing Giorgio too.

Traveled 20 minutes out of the way for crickets and some green worms for my kids’ Bearded Dragon. Great interactive shop with equallt great employees. I even left with a gifted pumpkin for my 13-year-old Stafford Shire Bull Terrier (mini pit bull). I will pay the extra gas to go there every time!

Lou's is such a local gem. We love visiting Skittles and seeing the new bunnies every time we visit. There is such a large variety of critters to see and learn about. The volunteer program for kids is such a fun way for kids to learn more responsibilities and see behind the scene's.

I have gone to Lou's for pet supplies and advice for over 25 years. Lou's has the nicest, and most knowledgeable staff I've ever met, and the store does a great job of just boosting your mood. Wonderful shopping experience and a great place to build a local business relationship with. Be a regular.

I love this place. Came in for a fish and almost messed up and adopted a chinchilla, chameleon, and a bunny. But if I did I know the staff would’ve set me up for success to raise them all right. Sierra is so knowledgeable and explains things to me on my level. This is my forever pet store.

We love it here! We travel a hour to get here and come often. The animals are amazing. We love visiting Skittles the chameleon and Future the large store rabbit. They have free roaming animals to pet. It is a very unique and special place.
