Amazing quality and authentic Korean food at a very reasonable price located in the heart of Washington! The following was ordered and will be described: "Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap" ($16.95) -- This was a huge dish at a fair price. What isn't noted is that they give you 2 eggs in this dish. The beef that comes with it is flavored just like the "beef bulgogi". The sides of the rice that is touching the hot bowl does char/burn up a bit, and that gives it a nice crispy texture. Highly recommended as the veggies are flavored and the sauce you can add to it, gives it a nice traditional flavor. This dish can serve 2 people. "Sundubu Jigae (Seafood)" ($16.95) -- The seafood that comes with this includes: shrimp, squid, clams. Highly recommend the Seafood vs the Pork, as the flavors really is exquisite with the saltiness of the seafood. The soup comes with a side of Rice, and the broth is very flavorful. Highly recommend this on a cold day. Can be easily shared between 2-3 people. "Beef Bulgogi" ($17.95) -- This is a huuuuge dish and comes piping hot. the beef is extremely flavor packed, semi-sweet bbq flavor, very authentic. The vegetables that accompanies it are: broccoli, onions, cabbage, carrots. All sliced/diced to be of equal of similar sizing to the beef. The only complaint here is the beef was sliced to small, so you'll have to use a spoon to scoop it into your rice bowl versus using chopsticks. This dish can serve 3-4 people. "Sunny Roll" ($15.95) -- The fresh raw salmon & tuna, kris-cross the roll and gives you a nice balanced flavor. Lightly dip it in soy, the top (fish) part only as the the inside tempura doesn't need any additional flavoring. For those trying to get into "raw" food, this is a nice entry level roll before you jump towards the nigiris. 1 person (full), 2 people as shared appetizer style. "Hawaiian Roll" ($15.95) -- The most refreshing dish you need to try. Cut into 6 slices, it comes already soaked in a light ponzu sauces that is absorbing into your cucumber and 3 fishes that comes with this. The chef is very generous with the thickness and slabs (yes slab not chunk) of raw fish they give with this dish. The cucumber is thick as it houses 3 large slabs of fish. Highly recommend this for those who are looking for sashimi and miss going to Southern California for fresh Sushi, but wants to go towards a more affordable route as this is really worth the money and is located in Yakima. 1 person (semi-full), 2-3 people (appetizer amount). Service is extremely smooth, quick, friendly, and observant. The serve staff is attentive and refills without you even asking, as we didn't even notice our drink were half low before it was auto-refilled. Extremely clean and spacious. The food came out rather quickly and piping hot (if you ordered a hot dish). OVERALL, for the price, quality, quantity of food that is served here, this place is amazing! Best restaurant in all of Yakima. Very authentic, flavors, ingredients, and priced very well for what you get.

Asian food in a smaller town isn't always good, but this one is. Very authentic. Nice servers, large portions enough for 2 meals, and affordable prices. Unique side dishes that I've never had anywhere else, even though I've been to and worked at Korean restaurants in greater Seattle and some other big cities.

Korean BBQ, need I say more? I have been here several times, each visit has been exceptional and delicious. Staff is friendly beyond measure. GREAT quality food, tastes so fresh. Wish I could give this place more stars. If I could recommend any restaurant to try in Yakima, this is it.

Oh My Lord-#1 restaurant in Yakima. Been to them all and by far the best quality, tasting, & seasoned food. The sushi-beats every other sushi place in town. The presentation of the food is equivalent to a 3 star Michelin restaurant (they don't rate higher then 3-3 is max;). Thank you all so much and will be seeing you bi weekly moving forward. Thank you Thank you thank you

Went to this restaurant on Friday, and the short hair girl server was so kind and bright! She made my day…😀The food was sooooo delicious and I recommend everyone to go visit this restaurant! I don’t remeber well, but I think the server’s name was Emily? Yeah, say hi when you see her!

Great Korean food. Pho soup ->YUM. Crispy California roll - A+ Small and dedicated customers, it’s like the Miners for oriental food! Ingredients always fresh. They have private booths and open seating for larger group.

The food here is amazing! The absolute best! I came in today September 16th with my boyfriend. We ordered a spider roll not realizing that it was deep fried on the inside. I have a gluten intolerance so I cannot eat deep fried food. I told the woman that we had no idea it was deep fried and she was extremely understanding and they made it right for me. She even asked me multiple times if I was happy. Clean, delicious, great service, very well run business and loving caring owners/staff. I would recommend this place to everyone. We drive nearly an hour from Ellensburg just to eat here. Having food intolerances can be difficult and it was really amazing that the staff was so sweet and cared about me enough to help me fix it. Very nice people!

Everything I wanted and more! Service, atmosphere, and food are nothing short of amazing. The portion size is good and the rice was very delicious, cooked the right way and although that may not sound hard it is not always. To have the flavor and texture there is spot on👌🏼.

LOVE IT! A few years ago I would have given 5/5 stars... today was definitely 10 out of 5 stars! The food was amazing, the employees were attentive and friendly, prices were good, and the food was excellent! So much food! It’s our new favorite Asian restaurant in Yakima. About the food: we ordered the Bim Bam Bop, the Beef Bugulgi, the sushi special (9 nigiri and 1 roll of the day), 2 egg rolls... what we got? ALL of that AND MORE! They showed up at our table with a platter full of various Korean tastings... for free! It was such a pleasant and tasty surprise and I tired a few new things (the Kimchi was so good). Totally unexpected! It all tasted wonderful and fresh. Served on cast iron or stone to keep it sizzling hot. Meat had just the right amount of fat (not overly fatty). And the price $75 (correction: my husband also bought a bag of shrimp chirps and a giant bowl of ramen soup from their Korean grocery area as a pet of that $75!!!) before tip.. which is not bad at all considering all we got and that we have plenty of left overs for lunch tomorrow. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. Looks like it was recently updated. The place was popping with customers, but didn’t feel rushed. Staff was wonderful. Perfect date spot. Our compliments to the chef and the rest of the staff. We shall return!

Amazing Food! I first tried Joy Garden at a work lunch and was quickly addicted. I went this last weekend and ate inside. It was super clean and we’ll kept. I ordered a pork bulgogi. The portion was huge and super fresh. The side dishes offered were tasty and delicious. This is definitely a place to try out!

the mandu (만두) and kimbap (김밥) is very filling and tasty. my mother loves the yakisoba. i enjoy the atmosphere, it is calm and lessens my social anxiety by tenfold. the service is great! i do not know the lady’s name that brings our appetizers, but she’s professional and kind. whenever she asks if i’d like more kimchi, she chuckles at my enthusiasm for more. joy garden is my favourite spot for amazing korean food and a comfortable eating experience. i go there whenever i can.

I spent a year in Korea immensely enjoying the foods. I've been to many Korean restaurants in the Puget Sound. Joy Garden has leveled up their game to compete with the best distant competition! It was just okay years ago when they opened. But after 3 recent visits I can declare I'm proud and jazzed to have them here! Quantities are plentiful. Plating is great. The dishware is aesthetically pleasing. And the genuine dishes very tasty. The prepared galbi is AMAZING. The Tteokbokki is awesomely tasty and authentic! Soondubu (tofu soup) is next on my list. Prices are a bit higher than usual fare, and I'm thrifty, but this is worth the experience for a date or hosting out of towers, special occasions, etc. If you've not tried Korean, try Joy Garden. Get a variety of weird stuff and sample away

My wife and I stopped by this restaurant at the end of our 8 days road trip. Starting from Seattle to LA , Las Vegas and way back to Seattle, we googled Korean food near Yakima, and found this restaurant. We both agreed this restaurant was the best one during our trip. Very friendly service, authentic and tasty food. It was a wonderful experience.

This is an experience restaurant. Give yourself the luxury of army stew. Savor some delicious banchan, and get some snacks for the road before you leave. It is the only place in yakima to get tteokbokki and it is worth it to add cheese. I have never been dissatisfied with anything except the kimbap which was too seaweed forward in flavor for me. I enjoy sushi, and maybe you enjoy the flavor. I'm not trying to say this dish was bad though. The service is almost as good as the food, and that's a hard bar to reach. The parking is sometimes rough due to the location, and the place is easy to find. Don't let that be your excuse, give this place a try.

I just have to say.... HATS OFF! I drove very far to get sushi. I was very impressed with the friendly staff. The food was the best I have had. I ordered the California roll and 2 monster rolls. They were fresh and I will definitely be returning. Thank you for such a great experience!

Great spot the service and food was very fast to us and tasted great! We loved the Braised Potatoes and Macaroni salad they brought out as appetizers. The Beef Bulgogi was our favorite with the chicken not as sweet but still very good.

The Korean BBQ is over priced but other dishes are not. For is overall pretty good. Pass on the Boba, there are much better places to get one in town.

I ordered a chicken fried rice for take out and when I got home my food was burnt, there was no way that the cook couldn’t have noticed. I called back to ask if I could get credit and they said I would have to take it back so they could personally see it. Absolutely horrible customer service. They have lost a 10 year customer due to this bad experience. I asked if I could speak to a manager and was told nobody else there spoke English. Which is a lie, knowing the people who run the restaurant have spoke to me in English in the past. Waste of money UPDATE: I ended up taking the plate of food back to the restaurant last night. I was told that the person who looked and tasted the food said and I quote “that’s how the rice goes out”. They said the food “did not taste or smelled burnt”, which was even more frustrating because it obviously was. I was given a refund for the order but they wanted to clarify the food was good and they were being nice by refunding me. It would have been nice to receive an apology and accept the error. I would have been more understanding.
