More enjoyable experience than any zoo we have ever visited. Gorgeous animals in a setting in which you can get up close and personal. Employees so friendly and helpful.. Tucked into a quaint valley with mountains on three sides. Cannot wait to recommend and bring visitors here at every opportunity.

It was a fun day here. 1st - Military get in free! (Thank you for honoring us.) The animal exhibits are clean & the animals look healthy & happy/well-taken care of. The safari ride was so cool. Victoria our driver/Safari tour guide was very knowledgeable & enjoyed her job. Enjoyed my visit here very much.

This is a breath taking experience for a family. Our kids have been here multiple times and even though they know what's coming they still love it. Lake Tobias has a great variety of animals to see on the zoo side. They have monkeys, black bears, tigers, lions, bobcats, ostriches, peacocks that roam the grounds, a lot of different chickens, Prarie dogs, pigs, and more. They also have a petting zoo with a variety of different barn yard animals. I would recommend stopping at the reptile area to see turtles, snakes, alligators, and a sloth. You can't miss out on the safari ride. Ours lasted almost an hour. There were so many different critters. Most came right up to the bus for snacks and to get petted! There is a waking path that has various different exotic birds, turtles, porcupines, and at the end extremely friendly giraffes. You can't make a stop at Lake Tobias with getting and yummy food nor stopping at the gift shop :) Overall a wonderful experience and not too expensive for our family of five.

The safari tour was wonderful... Absolutely buy the animal food before you board. They'll eat right out of your hands and it's an amazing experience. The petting zoo and other areas are really nice, as well. The kids had wonderful time and it was well worth spending half a day there. The staff were so polite and helpful, which really made for a great day!

It was a great place to spend the day with the family. Plenty to do and see, I would recommend getting there as soon as they open and doing the safari ride first. The line can get long quick and will eat up a lot of your time, but it is worth the wait. The free veterans admission was very nice and appreciated. You can also fish on the lake which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this place for a nice day trip getaway!

This was our first trip to the park! It was an amazing adventure. For my family the 2-hour card ride was well worth it. My 3-year-old daughter loved being able to get so close to the animals on the safari ride. It was a great experience even for my son who is just over a year old. The other cool thing in my opinion is it is very reasonably priced. I would have figured ticks, Food, and little gifts from the gift shop would have been well over $100. The nice thing about this place is you can bring a packed lunch and they have a bunch of pavilions thought the park. With the safari ride it definitely makes for some unforgettable memories.

I have restrictions but they were able to cater to my needs by hauling me and my family around in a long golf cart they call a limo. I felt like a VIP. We went on a Safari tour and visited the petting Zoo. The safari tour guide was comical and informative. You get feed wild animals like the elks! The goats at the petting zoo were full of kids feeding kids, (i mean little goats and little humans). And the goats will try to eat your clothes! I had never been so up and personal to goats like this. It was a lot of fun and was already enough entertainment for the entire day.

Absolutely Amazing Experience, Period. Animals are amazing, safari is breathtaking, feeding is up close and personal, french fries are crispy (even after 30 min, what!!!!) and views are ever so green. Staff was super friendly and very welcoming (except grumpy old guys on the golf cart but they are old so we will just let that slide). All seriousness, take a day trip to Lake Tobias, family and kids will absolutely love it.

Awesome place for the family or for a date. I don’t know if this place considers itself a zoo, but it’s one of the best in the area. The open air safari ride is better than Disney’s because the animals get up close and personal. Feed the zebra, llamas, and feel the antlers of reindeer and Buffalo. Follow that up in the walking area where you can feed giraffes and pet an alligator. Because that’s what normal people do!

We loved everything about Lake Tobias. The staff was super friendly. The park was clean, and restrooms were well maintained. There were lots of animals to see and interact with. It's perfect for the whole family. We loved the safari ride as well. 100% recommend!!!

Loved it and will be back. Bit extensive with toddlers but manageable. Concession stands are a joke with grumpy employees to long ques. Beat park was the Safari. Tons to see and do. Park at the secondary parking lot which is closer to the action. Always get carrots to feed the animals on the Safari and get refills. One, two, three mugs won't do if you have little ones tossing them...πŸ˜„

Always a great family day when we go here. The animals are all very well taken care. The park itself is also very clean. They have so many different animals to see and learn about. Don't forget to take a ride on their safari tour or visit the petting zoo. We also decided to have lunch there. Pricing was very acceptable and the portions were good sized.

WHAT A TREAT! This place is an absolute blast for all ages. There's so much to see and do. The space is well maintained, easy to access and there's enough space that even with a crowd you don't feel suffocated. The safari is worth every cent and was my favorite activity. The employees are friendly, helpful and always ready to answer questions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and we will be back!

This was such a fun place to visit. The safari tour was a blast, especially with the animal snacks you can buy. We chose the right time to go, too, because there were lots of cute babies! I just wish we would have gotten there sooner so we could have done more. We'll definitely be going again!

Great place to take the family. Our tour guide was outstanding (unfortunately I forgot her name now since we are home) on the safari ride. Lots of variety of animals and sections to see. We loved the petting zoo the best. And if you've never heard a lion or lioness talk to each other before then the place for it is here! We look forward to next year to visit!

Love, love, love it here. We always have a great time here, and the kids love feeding the animals on the Safari tour. The food there was reasonably priced and good. The park looked very clean, as it always does. They made some improvements and added some new animals that were cool to see. We had a great time and I highly recommend visiting. Also, be prepared to be swarmed by the goats in the petting zoo they love visitors and to be fed so I wouldn't wear nice clothes because the will put their feed up on you to get food.

What a gem of a wildlife park. The safari ride was amazing. Loved interacting with the animals and Parker (our safari guide) had lots of great information and jokes 😊 Everything was clean and the animals looked healthy. Loved feeding the giraffes too. Happy that it was fairly inexpensive for the admission and treats. Such a beautiful place. Can't wait to go back again.

Lake Tobias is a wonderful place to spend the day with the family! The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic about the animals. The safari tour is well worth the extra money and allows for very close encounters with the animals. The giraffe feeding was awesome as well. We also enjoyed the reptile encounters and the petting zoo. Our family had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

WE had THE BEST EXPERIENCE!! Did the drive through Safari Tour and saw so many amazing animals! Many even came up to our window! We got to pet a reindeer, emu and a Llama. The staff was so kind and the animals were in their natural habitat thriving and safe! I highly recommend Lake Tobias for any age and any event. It's worth the drive and we plan to come frequently!

We used our car to drive on the safari, and it was a great experience. Price to get in was really reasonable, especially for the up close views you get with the wildlife. This is a definite recommendation! Thank you!

Went here today with my family this place is amazing price to get in is very reasonable and for a few extra dollars you get a safari ride as well it is well kept and the animals have a lot of room to move and are well taken care of. The staff was helpful and nice. Would recommend this place to anyone that loves animals and they even have a petting zoo.

Absolutely love this place! The Safari is so much fun! The giraffe experience is TOO cool. They have so many neat animals here. This last time we went we had the honor of seeing a porcupine going for his daily walk on a leash and we got to pet a baby kangaroo. My favorite animals in the zoo area are the big tortoise, the little monkeys in the reptile building, the big pig, the monkeys near the pig, and the donkeys. I’m so glad they made a new lion enclosure; it’s so much bigger! This place is worth the money. I’ve been here a handful of times and I plan to come back more. My only suggestions would be a smoother experience with food wait times and that we miss the chickens; we used to love seeing so many walking around the park, but there were only a few this last time.

Lake Tobias is an annual trip for our family and it never disappoints! We always pay for the safari tour and feeding the giraffes. It's all worth it! All your money spent goes towards taking care of the zoo. The animals are well kept and more often than not, are out and ready to be seen. There's always something to pet, besides the entire Petting zoo. This trip we got to pet a baby porcupine and baby kangaroo! There's a good amount of hills and lots of walking so come prepared for heat. There is also plenty of food and drink options and cover from the sun when needed. It's a great place not just for kids, but adults too! Highly recommend. We will see you next year, if not before!

We always have a great time here, indoor and outdoor attractions. Free parking. Lots of animals to look at and feed. Prices are great, even for the food. They offer ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, fries, burritos and tacos too. Rain or shine check the weather before you go.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Lake Tobias in Halifax, PA, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. This family-friendly destination left us impressed with its well-maintained facilities, beautiful gardens with an abundance of native plants and vegetation, healthy animals, exciting open-air bus safari tour, and exceptional customer service. All animals appeared to be in excellent health and were clearly content in their spacious habitats. The open-air bus safari tour was an absolute highlight. As we ventured through the park, the animals approached our bus, providing us with an up-close encounter. The tour guide's witty commentary added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience, making us laugh and providing us with fun facts about the animals we encountered. One aspect that really stood out during our visit was the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Every team member we interacted with was genuinely warm and approachable. They were always ready to answer questions, share additional insights, and ensure that visitors had a memorable time. Their passion for the animals and the park was evident throughout. Lake Tobias also offers a wide range of food and drink options. I am thrilled to note that Lake Tobias honors and supports our veterans and active military personnel by offering free admission. This gesture speaks volumes about their commitment to those who have served our country and adds an extra layer of appreciation to the overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Lake Tobias to anyone seeking a fantastic day out.

My first visit October 9 2023, it was a cool and windy fall day. But what an awesome day. Spent over 3 hours, we did the safari ride, the petting zoo and most of the other animals. Can’t wait to go back with the grand babies. Staff was very friendly and helpful prices weren’t bad either.

Such a beautiful way to see different animals. I liked that you could feed so many different animals and the staff are very knowledgeable so they can answer many questions. My kids had a blast, even my one year old enjoyed getting to touch a snake and an alligator! I would highly recommend the safari ride, get some food to feed the animals because they come right up to you, and you can sometimes pet them after feeding them. A great place for parents or grandparents to take kids, definitely plan to spend at least 3 hours if not more.

Beautiful activity for the whole family. It was an amazing experience for all ages. I have a 15,14, & 10 year kids and they all had a blast. Animals get super closes. We definitely recommend upgrading to a safari ticket. You and your kids will love it. You can feed the animals, as they come right to the bus.

We went with the kids and grandkids on a Saturday in May. We really enjoyed the Safari Tour and the petting zoo. Our Tour Guide was Todd and he was awesome. Our 15 yr old loved to heckle him and he gave it right back. What a riot! The animals seem to be very well taken care of and we have enjoyed many visits through the years.

First, I will say that it is a very large park and in order to see ALL of the different animals that they have, we definitely had to do a lot of walking. Other than that it's definitely a great place to visit. The petting zoo was a huge hit with the kids, they got to run around with and feed a ton of goats and sheep, and they even were able to pet some baby emus. We got to see so many different animals while walking around the park and when we took the safari tour we had yet another opportunity to be up close with the animals there. It's such an interactive experience, being able to feed or pet the animals just makes it that much more fun.

It was my family and I'm first time visiting. We had an amazing time even though we arrived on the later side of time. The safari ride was such a great experience! Only things I didn't like was the amount of bugs on the animals and the walk way was challenging to go through while having a stroller. I recommend Lake Tobias despite the few things I didn't like.

Good activity for the family to spend some time outside. Safari is really cool and enjoyable. Lot of animals around and they come to you as they know they gonna get food. Giraffe feeding is really unique and fun.

Such a great experience for my child and I, it was our first time at Lake Tobias. We will be back. From looking at the reptiles to giraffes. Safari rides and feeding the animals were great. You can bring your own stroller and pack your own lunch to save some money. They have ice cream and a gift shop. Gift shop is very pricey though. So maybe don't take your kids in there lol

We went to lake Tobias last week and had a great time. If you’re looking for an up close experience with animals definitely go on the safari. I’d recommend going first thing because the line can get really long. And buy the food to feed the animals or you’ll be sitting there while everyone else is feeding them! The exhibits were nice and clean and the animals were all really active. We also caught some of the reptile show that was really informative and engaging. The petting zoo was a little crazy and the goats were definitely not shy. I wouldn’t take kids in there if they are scared of animals in any way. But all around we had a really fun time :)

Free parking, no wait to get in. Lovely giraffe exhibit gets you up close. Three playgrounds for the kids and clean bathrooms. The petting zoo was a lot of fun my daughter really enjoyed all the baby goats!

We love coming here. The animals are so well cared for and are visibly happy. The safari ride is so much fun! It can be disappointing if the animals don't approach the vehicle, but there's so many cool things to see it doesn't really matter. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Food on sight is fairly priced and easily accessible. There's lots to do and see. Highly recommend a family visit.

Wow- this place is amazing. Great zoo, animals have large, clean enclosures. Easy to walk and a phenomenal price for the experience. The safari had a very long line to get in, but was totally worth the wait. Our tour guide, Scott, was the BEST. He was funny, interactive, and informative. Feeding the animals right from the palms of our hands was a true lifetime experience. My family will definitely be going back. Such an awesome visit!!

Amazing place with or without kids. Mine loved it! They got to feed zebras, giraffes, emu's, goats and so many more! They have tigers and lions and bears. The safari ride was amazing feeding the elk the buffalo the long horn. I highly recommend this place.

Very nice and must do safari tour. There is no drive through but their rides are frequent and informative. 3-4 hours are sufficient to explore entire park.

  • 5/5 Justin N. 1 year ago on Google
Great day with lots to see. The woman at the giraffe enclosure had loads of information that was great to learn. Feeding them was also fun for my daughter. One downside was other people pushing and feeding them their own snacks which was not prohibited but they did it anyway.

  • 5/5 Jane B. 2 years ago on Google
Very family friendly. Prices are reasonable. The bus safari was great fun and all on board loved it. The tour guide was knowledgeable and went with the flow. Food Prices are manageable for families. The grounds and restrooms were clean. So much to enjoy, go spend a few hours.

Great family getaway hidden in central PA. Definitely a memorable experience for kids of all ages. There's even good educational signs and the safari staff have a lot of knowledge as well. Good mixture of native animals to North America and animals from overseas. First time to ever see up close and personal with a baby ostrich and kangaroo. Try to plan your day around the activities... giraffe feeding, safari ride and reptile show. Free parking, and you can bring your own lunch too. Would recommend if you need a break from daily life routine. P.S. - Scott was an awesome Safari tour guide!

I give this park a 5 out of 5 if there were more stars I would push the button. The safari ride is a definite must. The animals come right up to you and eat right out.of your hand. Pics to come. Our guide named Mr. Macaroni was awesome. He gave us detailed information about the different animals on the land. It was a great time !!! The other exhibits were wonderful as well. The petting zoo was filled with goats and sheep. There is even a camel as well. Now of course any park or zoo has souvenir shops. They were a bit on the pricy side but what isn't nowadays. Again everything about this park was amazing. If around the Halifax area or just traveling it is a great place to go. :)

Loved this place a little zoo with a big experience. Loved the open air safari. The safari was mainly herding animals such as Elk, Deer, Cattle of different types from all over the world. You can actually feed these animals which is such an unusual experience. They also have reptiles, exotic monkeys, big cats, bears and a petting zoo. They offer food concession stands and feed and treats to feed the animals. Their latest acquisition is 3 young reticulated giraffes and you can actually watch or feed these boys. Had a wonderful experience and the kids surrounding me had a ball too
