We recently stayed at the Devereaux Shields house and we could not have been happier. Our stay was flawless. Eleanor, Ron and the entire staff that we met know how to host perfectly. We stayed in the Rose suite and it was very comfortable for the three of us. We enjoyed how the house held it's period character while also providing comfortable seating. The beds were great. We also enjoyed an area of the outdoor courtyard for a rest and a snack. When we visit Natchez again I would certainly stay here again.

We paid in full for our elopement weekend at Devereaux Shields House. We arrived the night before and decided to change the location of our actual ceremony and photos. The owner found out, and CALLED the other location to attempt to have them cancel on us. She was angry that we were not using her property. We paid her in full and were not requesting anything monetarily returned to us. She then proceeded to argue with us the morning of our wedding about it. We wanted a stress free, intimate weekend, and this was a really intrusive and out of line interaction with this property owner. Quite frankly, I am disgusted with the amount of money we paid, and how we were treated. There are far too many other lovely options in Natchez. I do not recommend this establishment whatsoever!

This Best and Breakfast was great!! I went with a friend for a Girl's Trip and we were so impressed. The owner gave us a tour when we got there, we were greeted by the friendly staff, breakfast in the mornings was delicious, and the rooms were nice. I would recommend staying here if you are in town.

We loved our time at the Devereaux Shields House. The terrace was such a peaceful place for coffee and wine and cheese. Only thing that was hard was the lack of light in our bathroom for putting on makeup, but overall it was a great place to stay.

We had the entire Bost House to ourselves, which doesn't happen much but was nice. Ron and Elenore were great hosts and when you're there be sure to take a tour with the Rev. - ask him the hard questions.

What a great stay we had. A truly wonderful experience staying in such a lovely house, made all the more special by all the amazing people. From Ron and Eleanor to all the ladies that served our delicious breakfast. We shall return from the UK to visit again

Coffee at 7 was waiting every morning to enjoy on the balcony. House and room were nicely decorated and very clean. Owners and staff were always available and extremely nice. My room felt like being at home. Would recommend to friends and family and look forward to returning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clara’s Cottage on the Devereaux Shields property. All staff were exceptional and very welcoming to us and our dog, and they anticipated our needs and likes once they knew them! Breakfast was wonderful, too. We met some wonderful people on our trip, and we will definitely be back!

Eleanor and Ron are the very epitome of southern hospitality. They were available, had great staff and make our vacation in Natchez so very pleasant. We stayed in the property next to the Devereaux Shield main house. It was lovely and all the added packages were so worth it. Massages, a carriage ride and a wonderful dinner just added to the trip. Thank you so much. I highly recommend staying at Devereaux Shields.

We booked the Gallery Suite to have access to the 2nd floor covered balcony overlooking the front gardens. The suite has 2 bedrooms and share 1 bathroom. We occupied the king size room and it was exquisite. The decor was southern and tasteful with a sitting alcove in the turret section of the bedroom, French doors that opened to a large covered veranda with comfortable furniture where we had our cocktails and from where we enjoyed a magnificent thunderstorm one evening. A delicious southern breakfast was served in another house down the street also part of the Devereaux Shield BnB. The staff was welcoming and attentive. Everything was clean. The bathroom was small but nicely appointed. Our three-night stay was very pleasant. There is ample parking and beautiful gardens to enjoy. I would strongly recommend the Devereaux Shield House Bed and Breakfast. We hope we can return at a later date when the camelia and other flowering trees are in bloom. Perfectly pleasant six-night stay in the Victoria Suite in Aunt Clara's Cottage. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Coffee on the porch each morning. Quiet evenings on the porch each night. Interaction with other guests was an added blessing. The Fry's are excellent hosts. The staff were outgoing, friendly, and available to meet every need. Angela, Janie, Jackie, Robyn, and Jericka were amazing. Breakfasts were amazing. Robyn's peach French toast was delicious and by itself, worth a return trip. We travel a lot; the Devereaux Shields House exceeded our highest expectations. Definitely our first choice to stay on our next visit.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room/suite suited us to a tee; the location was great for us as we love walking around Natchez enjoying all the great architecture; most of all, Angela and all the gals on her staff really made our trip most enjoyable. The great breakfasts were really top notch. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back in the Fall hopefully with more members of our family. Wallace Wood & Rowan Dougherty Plus - Obie, Popeye, & Woody give Devereaux Shields House five stars also!

This B&B is fantastic! Angela, Mrs. Fry and the staff were incredible! Angela made us feel at home, was extremely accommodating, and had the best suggestions for things/places to see. The breakfast was AMAZING as well. We will definitely be visiting again.

My husband and I enjoyed a night at the Devereaux Shield's House. The room was beautiful with a balcony where we were able to enjoy our morning coffee that was provided by the owners. The king size bed was restful, but the breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE!! With a short walk a few houses down, we enjoyed eggs (unlike any I have ever eaten before), sausage, fruit, and the most amazing French toast that you will ever put into your mouth. All of the employees and owners were so kind. We felt like family in just a short stay. Thank you so very much for the stay in your B&B.

Outstanding B&B centrally located within walking distance of several area attractions. The owners were wonderful and really have the whole B&B experience down to a science. We stayed in two different rooms during our three day stay and they were both perfect for our needs. You walk down to another one of their properties for breakfast, which was always amazing. That is where we met most of the staff and they were equally friendly and informative (about the area). You can not go wrong choosing this location for your Natchez area stay. Highly recommend it!!

Upon arriving at the Devereaux Shields House, we were greeted by Angela who was a wealth of information about the home and area. This Victorian home is well preserved and beautifully furnished. Our bedroom was spacious, lovely and comfortable. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the front porch balcony accessed directly from our room. Breakfast was served at Aunt Clara’s cottage just a short walk down the street. The food was delicious and the service excellent. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood not far from the downtown area of Natchez. You won’t be disappointed with a stay at this delightful historic home.

Stayed a night while driving the Natchez Trace Parkway. House was easy to find. Wonderful owner who we spent more then 30 minutes talking with. There were cold drinks available when we arrived. House was air conditioned which was nice with the hot weather. Lots of parking available. Either on the street or in the alley between the houses. Great breakfast the next morning before we continued our journey.

My husband and I stayed in the Victoria room in Aunt Clara's cottage. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. It was a junior suite, but it did have a door to make it 2 separate rooms. The breakfasts were delicious and serving sizes were perfect. Ron and the staff were amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

Donna and I was greeted upon arrival by what felt like an old friend (Angela), that started our stay in the right direction. She made some suggestions on what to do during our stay, all excellent. We stayed in the cottage down the street which was more than what we imagined it would be. Very clean and comfortable (Alice room). Each morning started with porch sitting coffee time and great conversation from Mr. Ron, then in the dining area for an amazing breakfast. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We highly recommend this property for a visit in Natchez.

When we booked this trip, we were only looking to have a really relaxing weekend away from the norm. What we actually got was warm, welcoming, relaxing JOY from the moment we stepped in the door! The staff is the best...everything flowed flawlessly from beginning to end. The room was exquisite and comfortable. We could not have asked for more comfort. The outside events we attended were satisfying and the tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Natchez. We will definitely go again and recommend it to all we know. Thanks to Mr. Ron and Ms. Angela for making our Honeymoon memorable!

We enjoyed our stay in the Micheal Room at the B&B house next door to Devereaux Shields main house. The amenities were fantastic with heated floors in the bathroom which we will miss until we return! The house was very cozy and peaceful, with hot coffee served each morning in the dining room. The breakfast was served at another house down the street, an enjoyable walk each morning. Juice and coffee, a generous fruit serving, then a main course to follow up were pleasant and light. We will most certainly be back and look forward to it! Thanks again Ron!

The breakfasts were superb. Ron was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat etc. We had a car accident just before we arrived and Ron went above and beyond to help us get a car rental. Several small negatives...the bed was full sized. When you're used to a king, that's pretty tiny. Also the bathroom lighting is so dim, I could hardly see to put makeup on.

So much southern charm. Beautiful home, rooms and bathrooms clean and so comfy. Great hospitality! Everyone was so very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts were really delicious! Lots of help for thinking through our visit to Natchez. We would stay there again if we come down that way again!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay here. We were in the two bedroom Rose Suite, in the main house. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had a relaxing time. We loved sitting in the courtyard and having coffee before we made our way to the delicious breakfast. I would definitely recommend this! Thank you, Eleanor and Angela, for making our stay so wonderful!
