What a great place. We couldn’t get enough of feeding the birds. Really affordable, staff was fantastic. The golf cart renting truly was part of the experience, we just loved it, coolers welcome too. I HIGHLY recommend!!
My whole family absolutely loved this place! Watching the wolves play together was awesome. Petting and feeding the kangaroos was my favorite part and I could have spent the whole day there. My son absolutely loved feeding the emus! The cave tour was awesome too and was nice for the first timers we were with to find out if they liked being in a cave.
Amazing time at this zoo. Feeding lorikeets and kangaroos can’t be topped. Just so many unique experiences wrapped up in this special place. We went on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy. We did the cave tour. It wasn’t a National Park tour but interesting nonetheless. Would absolutely recommend and return.
We visited as part of a girls weekend during my granddaughters spring break. I was unaware of this spot until my daughter mentioned it. We decided to visit Mammoth Cave one day and this spot the next. The grounds are well kept, with golf carts available to rent, as there is a lot of ground to cover. There is a wide variety of both exotic and native animals, including a petting zoo of domesticated livestock. Of course, the big draw is the kangaroos and their is a veritable mob of them in all ages and sizes. We even saw a few with Joey's in pouch! They are very tame and you can purchase feed to hand feed them. They accept pets and seemed interested in visitors. There are various shows and extra attractions offered throughout the day. We were told all the animals are rescues. I highly recommend as a family activity, especially if you have animal lovers in the group.
This place was very enjoyable! We love animals and this was a wonderful opportunity to interact with and learn about many animals we haven't had similar opportunities for elsewhere The gold cart rental is also really great. My daughter's really loved it. We visited back in 2023 I think and will be back very soon!
First time visiting, I'm not big on caves as I'm claustrophobic, but we saw baby Salamanders, which was awesome, but LET ME TELL YOU, I ABOUT DIED WHEN I SAW THE WOLVES. I've loved wolves since second grade and seeing them today was amazing, and I literally cried of joy. We absolutely loved coming here, and interacting with some of the animals was so fun 🥰 and the employees were great as well! Very informative and cared about the well being of the animals, I had to let them know about a visitor being disrespectful toward some animals and not respecting the park rules and they took it very serious which I appreciate so much as an animal enthusiast 🙏🏻
Hands on experiences w/animals is literally a mental vacation.. The settled ways of the kangaroos chilling as you pet them to the cool golf ride around the area was fun for childs sake. Looking forward to returning in due time & season because all of the activities were FABULOUS :)
Everything about this place was pretty special, and worth every penny. The golf cart is an additional $60 (for the 6 person cart) and worth it if you’re not able to walk a whole lot. It was fairly easy to drive and figure out. If you don’t mind walking, there weren’t a ton of hills and it was definitely walking friendly. Feeding the animals is an additional cost and you need cash to do so. Make sure you bring $20 bills or lower. Feeding the animals is anywhere from $1-$5 depending on how much food you want. If you can only do some feeding, I highly recommend the birds and the kangaroos. The birds are a ton of fun but they’ll bite and poop on you if you’re not careful, we didn’t mind, but I’m sure some people do. It’s all part of the experience. Staff was friendly and the gift shops are worth checking out. The cave tour was very cool, and the whole place was well kept. I definitely recommend!
Spent an afternoon here and can't wait to come back!! The animals are so loved and taken care of. The staff is top notch. Brennan made the kookaburras laugh, the camel give kisses and so much more! Be sure to put this place on your list, you won't regret it!!
This place is awesome! I was waiting for my next load at the Love’s across the street and decided to check this place out. Truck drivers get a $5 discount on admission. It’s small but they’ve got a lot of cool animals you can see. Unfortunately I was here in December and since it was really cold, they put away most of the exotic birds. Still there were plenty of animals to see: wolves, lemurs, hawks, owls, capybaras, ostriches kangaroos, goats and even a camel. It was cold and that meant less people visiting and less people visiting meant the kangaroos were hungry. Yes you can feed the kangaroos, they are very friendly. There’s also a really cool cave that you can visit. They run guided tours every half hour. The guide was very informative. Next to the cave entrance there is a gift shop with a lot of cool stuff. This is a really cool place to visit with your family, friends or even by yourself.
This is such a great family attraction! You can pet kangaroos and other farm animals. They have animals you don't see everyday in Kentucky like a Capybara, Parrots and more. There is a small cave tour with plenty of beautiful rock formations inside. Bring a small picnic, eat at the cafe by the Kangaroo habitat or at the Amish restaurant next door. Make a day of it and enjoy! If you don't walk well, rent a golf cart because the walk is steep in spots.
Awesome animals, A lot of stuff to do, would highly recommend. Here’s a video of a kangaroo there.
Such a fun experience for adults and children of all ages. This was our second visit and it was just as much fun as the first time. Feeding the kangaroos was a blast and seeing all the other animals up close was super cool as well. Cautionary note - there are some hills but everything is paved and walkable. If you have a condition that prevents you from walking up hills or for prolonged periods, they do have golf carts to rent.
We had a really fun time here. Feed the Kangaroos, Wallaby and Emus was so adorable. One they knew you had food. You where their best friend. Their cave tour was very well done as well. More then glad we made a point of visiting here. If you have kids this is def a place to visit. Make for some great memories.
This really is great for all ages! We stayed 5.5 hours! The cave tour was 30 minutes and there was so much to see and do. It was both fun and educational. We learned a lot in the cave, during the sheep herding demonstration, and from the signage for the birds. The staff in the kangaroo area was so nice and welcoming. We had lunch there at the cafe - it was descent and not overpriced. Definitely get a golf cart so you can see it all!
Our family stopped in for a fun day trip and Kentucky Down Under did not disappoint! We loved the cave tour so much we did it twice. We all enjoyed interacting with the kangaroos and the animal show. I love that they offer golf carts for rent. We look forward to coming back!
Focused more towards kids.
Family fun! Petting and feeding kangaroos (they are sooooo soft!), they have animal shows, a cave tour (included in the admission price), feeding birds, and… PETTING KANGAROOS!! Worth every penny, and fun even on repeat visits.
Cool little safari park. We got to drive a golf cart around the grounds and feed horses, goats, kangaroos, emu and others. They have a cave on the grounds that my wife and son explored with an experienced tour guide. Clean, well-priced, enjoyable day!
We had a blast. Getting the golf cart was the best thing. Cave was awesome. Kangaroos were hilarious. Try Groupon for great deal. Will go back.
Coolest place perfect for families or anyone who loves animals and caves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, I will continue to come back.
My family and I were on a road trip when we saw a billboard for this place, and what an amazing surprise it turned out to be! We all love animals, and the whole experience was truly fun. They have goats, sheep, peacocks, tortoises, capybaras, and—best of all—kangaroos! The animals are well cared for, very friendly, and there are so many you can interact with and feed. The golf carts make exploring the property even more enjoyable. This is a perfect experience for all ages, especially if you love animals. The staff were fantastic! My mother accidentally left her driver’s license there, and they were kind enough to mail it back to us. We highly recommend this place—10/10!
