After running an errand downtown, stopped in at Tasty Taco. Parking tight since it was the lunch hour, line was to the door but moved quickly. The corn steak taco to go was fresh even though the meat needed more seasoning, but overall good at a reasonable price$.

Oh my gosh, these may be the best tacos I’ve had in the country! Wanted to try them because I saw they’ve been voted Best Tacos, and was NOT disappointed. The fluffy flour shells our outstanding. The homemade chips and guacamole were both superb. I tried chicken, steak, and pork and all were great. Even the salsa is better than anywhere else I’ve tried.

Great tacos! Awesome variety on the menu and everything is delicious. Taco sauce is sooooo good!

This is the best location...since the closed the one on Douglas in Beaverdale. It's a local favorite for sure however most say it's not what it used to be. There is a lot of hype behind them ! I have been going for ever and I will say it's not what it was when I was a kid...I'm still a life long customer 🌮😂👌 I enjoy the original flour taco 🌮 and the amazing chicken enchilada which is absolutely delicious 👌🤤🫠 in my opinion 😄

A local eats. If you're not from here it's a must try for a Des Moines favorite. The Tasty Taco is a deep fried flour shell with seasoned beef, lettuce and shredded cheese. The beef enchiladas are really good too. We also tried the flour nachos with queso. Both of those were good as well. Will go back.

Hands down some of the best tacos I've ever had. Authentic & full of flavor. The chips and queso did also not disappoint. Fresh tortillas.

I try to make it a point to go to Tasty Tacos whenever I’m in town. I usually order two Original Flour Tacos (beef). They are quite delicious. The people working here are really friendly and service is fairly quick despite the long line that is normally there.

Very disappointed. I remember when these tacos were packed with ingredients and taste. I knew Richard very well and I think he would be disappointed as well. These tacos have half the ingredients for twice the price. Loved the originals but lately the ingredients are getting smaller and smaller. Sorry Richard.

This is our favorite tasty tacos we always come across town to come to this location we normally get really good service but today we had a cashier by the name of Valeria we originally tried to place the order over the phone but the cat lady taking the orders was not comprehending how we were trying to order the food she was very young and ratchet the way that she was talking to us she hung up in our face and when we three times she answered the phone and hung up again when we got to the restaurant she was standing at the front counter with a mug on her face giving the attitude that she did not want to be there and did not want to take your order or help you I again try to place the order and she started arguing with me telling me that I didn't know how to order which is Ludacris it's simply a taco with only meat and cheese. She rode her eyes and told me to shut up now the only reason that I continued on with this order is because my children really wanted to eat here and I didn't feel like going anywhere else but that was a mistake I will not be coming back to this location or giving them not another dollar of my money if this little girl is going to be at the front taking the orders

Love this place but tacos barely had meat this time. Kinda felt like my money was wasted. Hopefully better next time

The name says it all. The ingredients have always been fresh and the flavor is amazing. It's nice to see a local business grow and compete with the national chains. Next to Tasty Tacos, both national chains are blah and not worth the trouble. I usually get the tacos but I've enjoyed all the dishes I've tried. The poppers are good if you like fried peppers. You really can't go wrong with any item on the menu.

A Des Moines Institution! If you ever have been near Des Moines, IA and have never been to a Tasty Taco, you need to make a visit a priority. They invented the puffed fried shell. The food is very inexpensive and generously sized. I recommend the pulled pork taco, tots, Queso blanco and jalapeño poppers. For desert you can get a spin on tortilla churro chips, Krispos.

Fantastic meal for a great price. Can’t go wrong with 2 original flour tacos but make sure you try the queso, too! This location is great because it’s right near the Capitol, it’s a true melting pot of Des Moines!

Gotta say not real happy today ordered nachos supreme and got chips with in a plastic bag no sauce and had two other things that were very wrong not very happy kind of a waste of 24 dollars I spent

The food was so good and very fairly priced. The guy running the register was friendly and helpful. Do not skip the desserts. I can’t remember what it was called but was kind of a mix of funnel cake and tortilla. It was delicious!!!

Lord I love their homemade, "Indian" style flour tacos! SO good. You gotta try their homemade flour nachos with Quesada. Tasty Tacos is to Iowa as White Castle is to New York..

A Des Moines staple. You can never go wrong with an order of 2 Original Flour Tacos. And don't forget the hot sauce. Tasty Tators optional.

As authentic as you can probably get around here anyway, AMAZING FOOD, I absolutely love their soft shell tacos! I can't say enough good things about them. Glad they are opening more restaurants around town. Their employees are always smiling and laughing, so it must be a good place to work as well.

Decided to swing by Tasty Tacos with an out of towner. I figured having her review the food would remove the bias of me having loved Tasty Tacos my entire life. On a scale of one to tasty, she reviewed the original flour taco as “tasty” I agree with her. Also, mirror in the bathroom was clean and a great place to take a quick selfie for the gram.

Place is kinda dirty and run down. Food is ok. Tex-mex style flour tacos are ok.

I ordered delivery by door dash and service was good. I ordered one original flour taco, one steak flour taco, one original crispy taco, one steak burrito and 3oz hot sauce. They put the tacos in a wrap, then in a sleeve bag, that made them soggy. Ruined the taste of the flour tacos. The hot sauce was extremely thick and that's not normal for them. I will say that each item was over stuffed in a good way. I still say they have the best flour tacos in Des Moines IA. It was just weird how they wrapped them to go. Normally they're in a tray basket, which is much better.

Grew up in Iowa and now live in NE. I miss these unique flour tacos. They are as tastey today as when they first opened. If you are traveling through and are hungry, eat here!! It's a thicker, fried taco shell that is not greasy but almost fluffy. I have had a lot of "fried flour tacos" around the world but none match the Mosqueda's original flour taco. One of the best family owned restaurants. I know, I was a friend of Andre, we both loved Santana. He like me was radio man.
