Exotic place you can find in Ames. Everything is affordable. I ordered a glass of cold brew with crepes. They were nice for me, but you can skip them if you are not interested in sweet one. There is a gallery place so that you can enjoy some art pieces.

Literally my favorite place in Ames. Staff are always friendly. A vibe you won't get anywhere else and the only place in Ames with real crepes! Unique syrups, an art gallery, and and the prices are very good as well.

This is a hidden gem that one of my friend introduced me too. I really enjoyed the environment and staffs were extremely friendly. Food was surprisingly delicious too and you’d be able to feel that the chef cared about you while making the food which is extremely hard to find nowadays. I’d definitely go back again.

Delicious crepes and coffees all around. Tasty bites and neato vibes were found here! Bonus points for rad staff, safe spaces, and natural lighting with a cool lil gallery space.

Had a lovely time. It reminds me of an art colony, jn the best way possible. My sister and I had a kimcheese dosa & a masala dosa, both vegan and gluten free. I had a delicious oat milk raspberry sage latte. Staff was very nice and friendly. Will bring in my dog next time for a treat from their frat jar. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Ames! One thing to note - the building is directly next to the tracks and a train came by several times in the hour we sat outside. Not a bad thing, but just a heads up. Staff were all wearing masks still but do not require masks for patrons.

My husband and I enjoyed their crepes and drinks on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We loved all of them. Their latte was the best one I had in town! (But I hope they get more milk options, such as low fat or 2%.) And crepes.. Oh my God, you will come back for more! You just have to try them!

It was pretty good. The coffee was nice and the environment was unique and eclectic. I would say that Lockwood is better for meeting a friend than getting work done. Also come early because seating is limited. I wish they had done some art in my latte.

Unexpected gem in north Ames: an unpretentious hipster cafe with excellent vegan and gluten free options, plus delicious coffee and homemade syrups. I'd given up on ever eating crepes again until I found Lockwood, and now their sweet and savory crepes are a staple. Also love the chill atmosphere and myriad plants. Definitely worth the visit. Both dine in and take out are great options.

Roasted schrute is the best! I would give the flavor 5 stars but the waiting time is always around half an hour at lunch hours and the inside seating area is small and smoky

Lots of crepes on the menu (and gluten-free options), good coffee. You may need to wait a bit, but if you're lucky, you can sit outside and see a train!

A hidden gem! I absolutely loved the atmosphere and energy here. Staff was friendly and the food was wonderful. Both sweet and savory crepes are available. They have coffee drinks or, if you can't have caffeine like me, hot chocolate that was is so yummy! Including foam art. ❤️

Wow. The crepes are amazing. Classic flavor combinations but done with fresh ingredients and an eye for detail. Simply one of the best breakfasts I have had in years.

Excellent place for a leisurely lunch. They have a wide selection of savory and sweet crepes, all delicious with vegan options. Our favorites are their breakfast special, masala dosa, and kim-cheese savory crepes. Lovely, cozy indoor atmosphere and outdoor, dog friendly patio. We love this place for their community-mindedness and excellent food and drink options!

A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Food and Welcoming Atmosphere During a recent work trip, I had the pleasure of stumbling upon The Lockwood, a true hidden gem. This LGBTQ+ friendly establishment quickly won me over with its inviting ambiance and ample seating both inside and outdoors. Whether you're with friends or family, The Lockwood provides a warm and inclusive environment for all. However, it was the staff at The Lockwood who truly stole the show. From the moment I walked in, their friendly and attentive service made me feel right at home. Their genuine care and dedication to creating a positive dining experience were evident throughout my visit. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the food. I decided to try the savory crepes, specifically the Breakfast Special. This delightful creation featured a harmonious combination of flavors. The crepe itself was perfectly cooked, with a delicate texture that complemented the filling beautifully. Inside, I discovered a delicious blend of Mozzarella cheese and a perfectly cooked over-easy fried egg. The addition of pico de Gallo on top added a refreshing touch, infusing the dish with a burst of vibrant flavors. One aspect that stood out about The Lockwood is their commitment to using fresh and clean ingredients. The flavors of the dish were not only delightful but also made evident the care taken in selecting top-notch ingredients. It was a refreshing experience to indulge in a meal that felt both satisfying and wholesome. To add to the already impressive list of offerings, The Lockwood also provides WIFI for guests. This thoughtful amenity allows patrons to stay connected while enjoying their dining experience. So, The Lockwood is a true gem that I'm grateful to have discovered. Its LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff, and exceptional food make it a standout dining destination. Whether you're craving savory crepes or exploring their other menu options, you can expect flavorful dishes made with fresh and clean ingredients. I wholeheartedly recommend The Lockwood to anyone in search of a memorable dining experience.
