My hometown... this temple carries the legacy of Pathwardhan royal family (family of Bhagyashri Patwardhan from Maine Pyaar Kiya)... very serene place...there is enough place to seat inside the temple compound... it is situated just at the entrance of Sangli when you come from Islampur- Ashta....

The Sangli Ganapati Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Ganesh, is located on the Krishna River's eastern bank. To honour the protector deity of the city of Sangli, Chintamanrao Patwardhan, the first ruler of the Sangli, began building the temple in 1814. This temple was built over the course of 30 years, and it was finished in 1845. Only in this temple was the idol of Lord Ganesha dedicated by the king. In front of the Ganesh temple was built a red stone arch in 1952. During Chintamani Rao II's rule, the remainder of the temple was finished. This temple has lately undergone renovations and changes thanks to Vijay Singh Patwardhan.

A very beautiful and historical temple in Sangli. The whole area is very well maintained and clean. You will feel extremely positive and peaceful the moment you enter inside the temple. The fountains and the ancient architecture will leave you mesmerized. Plenty of parking space is available for two wheelers, there is also a pay and park facility. Must visit!

Beautiful temple with awesome management and cleanliness. Everything is maintained perfectly. The Management of the temple is with royal family of Sangli, who have maintained the temple’s traditional status as it was. It’s very peaceful.

A very beautiful, heart-pleasing and a historic place where Sanglikars are proud of, where anyone from all over the world never leaves Sangli without coming here. Patvardhan Raje, ruler of the Sangli kingdom, built this temple in the 1800s. In this temple, you will find everything from carvings to ancient artefacts. The temple is spread over a very large area in the center of which is seated Ganarai, the adorable deity of Sangli, surrounded by four temples, one is the Shiva temple, the second is the Suryanarayana temple, the third is the Chintamanishwari Devi temple and the fourth temple is the Lakshminarayana temple. As this area has already expanded, a small garden has been created on the side. Earlier, Bablu Hatti of Sangli Sansthan and Gajraj Hatti used to live there and now after the death of Bablu Hatti, a permanent temple of Navagraha was built there and Navagraha's temple is next to Kenganeshwari Devi, the village goddess of Sangli. There is a temple. The entire area was already under the rule of the Patvardhan governments, so the surrounding area is still known by their name, except for a certain part of the Mai Ghat area behind it, some places are still under the Sangli state. Talking about the temple premises, there is also a big hall which is dedicated for special auspicious activities and many events are celebrated here. Even today during Ganeshotsav, His Highness Vijayasimha Raje Patwardhan, the current Ruler of Sangli Sansthan, attends and the special thing here is that during Ganeshotsav, a Ganesha called Chor Ganapati is installed after a few days. And just a few days ago, new culminations of four temples around the Ganpati temple were installed here. However, if you go to see this temple, it is very attractive, so I would tell every person who comes from outside that she must come once and experience the blissful peace and see Bappa.

This is a most famous Ganesh Mandir in Sangli. In this temple the Ganesha is accompanied by Goddess Riddhi & Siddhi. It's an old temple with nice Peshawai architecture built in 18th century. Nicely maintained. It is a जागृत देवस्थान. It is a very serene, peaceful and calm place. It's crowded on Chaturthi (चतुर्थी). The temple is situated on the banks of Krishna River. There are few other templates surrounding the Main Ganesh Temple. The area is heavily crowded. Car parking near the temple is a big problem.

The temple spreads over an area of almost 2 acres and is a must visit.

Vishal Appasahe Patvardhan was a Sangati Andayapak king. He In 1801, the construction of Ganesh Durg, a palace and Shri Ganapati Temple began. Patwardhan Mahabhi Hai was one of the four pillars of the Maratha Empire during the Peshwa period (1700 AD). At the age of 17, the vicars of Tipu Sultan fought for the first time in Chintaman. He was the chief commander of Poudasika 40 thousand plagues. Against the first Chintamanrao Patwardhanji, Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan Even though they were planted, they were reaping interest from the soil. He gave justice and fair treatment to the Muslim subjects of the Sangli census. Who gave space for the mosque. And the urus of that community at Lande near the capital Sangli used to participate. Apart from this, he has written in Sanskrit Urdu Ashe Go in front of the panchayat mandir of deities in Shri Ganapati Devasthan. In Shardam taluka (pargana) of the Sansthan, Urdu was the official language of the school. Just as Bharata looked after the kingdom of Lord Ramachandra, he was looking after the Lord Sansthal of Sri Gajanana.

Searching for holy and quite place to experience inner peace then this place is for you. Place has really beautiful structure/architecture. This temple is really old established by Patwardhan’s of Sangli. This Ganesh temple is really famous is nearby villages. Temple is really beauty to watch a grand entrance and beautifying scenes takes breath away. When entered into main lobby of temple to take Bappa’s Darshan you will feel that energy and it calms you down. This main lobby is really cold. You will feel that natural Garwa here. Bappa’s Murty is breathtaking to watch and it lures you. Please visit this place during Ganesh Chaturthi to experience best of this place. All decoration and that vibe will give you best experience. Must visit place if you are in Sangli.
