It’s one of my favorite places to walk the trails. But my favorite part is the flowers and the little house you stumble on before you get to the trails. The flowers are beautiful and they have tons of hummingbird feeders are. Unfortunately they are too fast for me to get a pic. But it’s super peaceful. We tend to sit down and read books and soak in the nature.

Was not crowded. Canyon trails and lodge were closed. Bathroom open. Trails were nice but not well labeled. Used pdf map from website.

There is a private residence here that is illegally erecting structures to keep the public out of the canyon trail here. Please help report this to the FPDCC.

First off, as of April 6th 19 Google maps could not locate this spot. There are construction barrels right where you turn and parking once you enter. Secondly, bring waterproof boots and a walking stick. Note: the learning center doesn't require the above suggestions. The canyon tour definitely does, unless you don't care about getting shoes and pants wet. Finally, reservations are required for canyon tour. The guide was extremely informative about the area and very enthusiastically explaining the details. Beautiful area hidden in the forest preserves.

Cross country trails were still beautiful today!

$15 for ski and boot rentals which is a great deal in my opinion. Lockers, bathrooms, and water are available in the cozy lodge. The trails have a variety of difficulty levels and are well marked. It tends to be busiest on the weekends, especially Sunday, so the weekdays may be best if you want to avoid waiting in line for equipment and avoid crowded trails.

Great place to go and walk some trails. They offer tours of their canyon for free although, they do not allow people down there without a tour guide.

Lesley was our trail hike leader this morning. She explained things, filled us in on various topics when we had questions, etc. Very well educated and informed and interesting to all of us!!

This place is terrible. It’s a long walk from the parking lot and they don’t allow you to park in front. So if it’s raining or you have small children it’s a no go.

Adult education, great trails, both woodland and Prarie, glenn, some well-kept streams that move through the preserves.
