Took my dog twice and there's always issues. Not with the dogs but with the owners. The same elderly woman is there all the time sitting in the middle of the park and always has something to say. She seems like she's the one that "runs" the dog park in her own head. Not welcoming at all and even recommended that I take my dog around the block instead of bringing him in the dog park because it was too many "people" but let others in without hesitation. The few times I went without my dog and went along with a friend and their dog there's always exchanges with this same woman with individuals who I noticed that are not caucasian and at one point as we were leaving shouted "you are always welcomed here". Which I took as sarcasm anyway I will never go again. Not friendly and always tends to ruin my day with the constant hazing/hostility presented throughout the park. It's unfortunate since it's a lovely park and my dog loves it. Currently making trips to the Portage Park Dog Park and haven't had a problem at all.

My dog and I love this park. Has been great the last few weeks until an owner decided to call the shots today. Apparently his dog could do no wrong. Constantly dominating dogs including mine. I went to stop this before he got out of hand. He proceeds to tell me not to touch his dog, fair but please control yours. He continues to berate me, mind you I have been a dog handler for 10 years but I do not like to impose my opinion on others of how to raise their dogs. Anyway I then remember his dog from a dog boarding i monitored a few years back. His dog was kicked out for attacking another dog and then myself ripping my hand open. Smallish, basic dog park. Had some unsocialized dogs so a couple of incidents. That said, it should be the owner's responsibility to know their dog. Love the double gate system, it has a large 'holding' area. Lovely surrounding park also where one can walk your leashed dog.

Great place to socialize your dog and let them burn some energy.

We are SO lucky to have this amazing dog park for our furry friends. Large fenced in area, double gate to keep dogs from getting loose when entering/exiting, water available, well maintained by community. I meet super friendly folks with great pups everytime we visit. There are benches + shaded areas. Enough space to play ball or frisbee with the dogs and plenty of space for dogs to just run and play with one another. Not typically crazy-busy; at most I've had five (5) other dogs in the park at the same time as me.

Love love love this dog beach. It's huge and clean, my dogs get so excited when we park to go to the beach that they can hardly wait to get out of the car. It's so big that you can seclude yourself if your pooch doesn't want to interact as much with other dogs or you can be in all of the action. The water is also shallow very far out so you can walk out really far and still not even be waist deep, which is nice to go out with your pup but not have the water be too deep. I can't wait for warmer temps again to bring my dogs here daily!

Since my condo will not allow pet, and I miss them so much, I occasionally park by the dog park to watch the doggos play when I am having a bad day. They are guaranteed to make me smile with their silliness and wonderful, loving play.

It's great! A lots of friendly people with well behaved dogs of all sizes. And for a $20 annual membership, you can't beat it.

Huge park that's everything you see in all the movies. Classic. Honestly. And all sorts of amenities from the zoo to the lake. I've been here for Summer Stage and enjoyed my time here as well for that.
