Surge is awesome!!! Our house flooded during the last big rainstorm and we had to relocate my birthday party last minute. After calling a few places and getting turned down… I reached out to Surge a week before the party and asked if they would be able to host. They said yes!! They were super flexible. They had party packages, but we decided to just reserve a couple pool tables and do the cash bar. It worked perfectly!!!! The service, food, and drinks were all great!! Many of our guests said they wanted to come back! Thanks Surge for hosting us last minute! Also S/O to SJ for coordinating the plans with us!!!

update! I just tried this giant almond croissant and it has sent me to transcendence. I sent a picture of it to my friend and he says "that croissant is bigger than my future." the cappuccino is excellent. the service is excellent. amazing!! I've gone here in the mornings to study and read. The baristas are very kind and friendly, one (Mike, I think) brought me water without me even asking for it. It's a very clean and comfortable space, lots of accessible outlets and big windows. It's quiet and calm in the morning, good service and welcoming vibe.

Top notch pool hall. Plenty of tables and they’re all in pretty great shape. Our server, Josie, was great, and the vibe was perfect. High energy and good music. A great place to hang out!

Super cool artwork. Their food is great but they can increase their portions.

Absolutely love this place. Great spot for coffee, cocktails and bar bites. There are always ample pool tables and darts. The staff is kickass and super chill. They always support the community and this is great local spot to hang with all our friends. They always play really good music too. There's a lot of comfy table spots too with outlets for laptops. Support local!!!!

Rare gem in Chicago! It's hard to find a decent billiard establishment. Great tables, service, food and drinks. Must come if you like pool.

Update.. house margaritas is so fresh and so good!!😛 They have pastries, coffee, and food at the billard. Customer service is nice and bartenders make good cocktails. Tap beer is served in cold glasses. Plenty pool tables. Clean bathrooms. Variety music. Good vibe. Happy Hour 🕟

I really enjoyed my time here. They let me in even though I'm below 21 but I was told I would have to leave before 8...I'm not sure what their official policies are if you are very young. The tables themselves were pristine.

The bitter old mexican guy working the bar and door tonight needs to be completely let go. Rude all the way around from the moment I called to ask a question to the minute we arrived, to the minute we ordered our drinks. Guess he decided he wanted to be playing pool all night like everyone else instead of doing his job. We were also told last call was at 11. At 11:45 another woman came around and told us last call was actually at 12, When the hours say they’re open until 1am. They came to our table three times starting at 11pm to basically rush us and tell us they were getting ready to close. Bad service all around. It was obvious these people did not want to be at work and were trying to rush people out.

By far our favorite place to go out on a date night or just to have fun with friends! The drinks and food are always amazing (especially the lechon quesadilla omg), but the people are even better. Def recommend getting a table for NYE!

I have been a customer here since they opened this location. They are in the neighborhood, they make good drinks and when it's not too crowded, I love to get some pool time in. The last couple of times I've been, the vibe was strange but tonight was weird. I arrived two hours prior to closing time. As per the posted hours of operation. I was greeted by the lovely Itze. After giving us a table, she explained that they were only offering shots and untapped beer. Before she could complete her sentence and allow us a decision, another person leaped Over next to Itze and began to very loudly, along with some added frustration in her delivery, explain that she had already done a last call and was only doing canned beer and shots as she was "basically closed". It was an awkward moment and we felt like she was unhappy about us coming in. Maybe not personally but it was definitely an uncomfortable situation. We looked at each other and decided we should leave. We left without further incident . it's a bummer. I considered this a favorite spot. It's the one place we frequent and it's hard to imagine not. Oh well. At the end of the day, we are just people who come and go. Good luck guys.

Surge is super expensive if you don't go during happy hour (4-7 on weekdays). Also, their glasses are *super* small. Instead of getting a cocktail, I would recommend getting a can or draft... It's a better ROI

It was a really Nice place with all the facilities In good condition. The reason i gave Them two stars, is because i was charged double. I then sent Them an e-mail regarding the issue which i haven’t replied to. Everything else was great!

Big, clean pool hall with equipment in decent shape. If you're just looking to play pool, that's a win! But wait, there's more! Full bar with excellent service, a coffee bar with high quality beans and baristas, AND a Cuban kitchen for grub.

I love surge! Delicious cocktails and decent service, but what keeps me coming back are those damn empanadas! Super yummy and traditional.

Surge is the BEST place to have your next party! SJ who helped us set up our reservation was very quick to respond and help us plan and adjust our party as needed. Their food menu has a lot to choose from and everything is fantastic. The drink menu is packed with fun cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. We love to visit Surge often, but it's definitely the perfect place to host a big group of people - prices are super affordable! The party packages are customizable and can include just pool or can even include food and drinks, I really appreciated their flexibility in creating the perfect party for us!

This place double charges your card after you leave. The first time, they told me it was an accident. The second time they told me they didn't know what happened and now that my payment from Saturday already posted and cleared and ANOTHER duplicate charge showed up on my card today I can't wait to hear how they explain this one. I think I might seek legal action as I now believe there is a more nefarious motivation behind the same mistake happening 3 times. So if you do go to Surge, make sure to keep a close eye on your bank account, which you haven't have to do with a trustworthy establishment. Drinks are weak, and the espresso machine has been broken for half a year, so this is NO coffee bar. Do better, Surge. Do better.

Very disappointed, 2nd time at surge and while I see the immense potential at a space like this could have it was not only one bad encounter but three with the tall European male bartender, from the moment I walked in we were not greeted in fact stared at like we were out of place. I asked a question referring to the parking lot and it was met with a blank stare and a ‘no’. Coming in to enjoy happy hour he stared at our table for a solid 30 minutes, no warm smiling face more like a mean mug; coming from someone who has RBF it was excessive. It made not only me but my other members in the party uncomfortable and was very obvious. We came up to get drinks and he again was dismissive and rude would not let us order drinks without everyone at the bar, all policy’s are different okay no problem. I saw the manager and spoke with him Victor he acknowledged he has received many comments on said person for the same issues. Like I expressed to the manager I will not be back to that location. I would definitely re think that persons position. Being in the industry over 10+ years I understand we may not be the most cheerful but should not be customer facing and make people feel uncomfortable and be rude.
